Prologue

“Sister, I believe you do not understand the immensity of this situation.” Luna pleaded with her older sister. The tall elegant mare with a luminescent white coat chuckled. Her white gown flowed in the night her sister brought. Luna was wearing her own light blue dress, that complimented her dark coat nicely.
“Luna, listen to yourself. You believe I should heed the warning of a group of foolish ponies?” She asked. Luna opened her mouth to speak but Celestia continued, “They are no more than a bunch of foals threatening without any sort of leverage.”
“They sounded very serious Tia. I am concerned for the safety of Canterlot — for your safety.” Luna’s teal eyes stared up at her sisters calm mauve ones. Celestia sighed and ran a hand through her long flowing mane. She stood at the edge of the balcony of their castle.
“Luna, ponies threatening to end our reign, is like ants threatening to squash a giant.” She said. Luna sighed in defeat and crossed her arms over her chest.
“You are the most stubborn mare I know.” The younger alicorn growled. Her older sister chuckled.
“Luna the first International Royal Summit is about to be held. I can’t allow myself to be distracted by rumors and empty threats.” Celestia insisted. Equestria had always traded with neighboring countries, but this was the first time they’d ever actual meet and discuss immigration laws and whatnot. There would be the Zebras from Alfalfarica, Reindeer from Reinssia, Llamas and other fleecy species from Boltlivia and other ponies from the big sister of Equestria, Equineland. There’d also be ponies from Prance, Ironland and Italead, ponies from Jumpan and Austrailia. Canterlot was going to be very crowded.
However, Celestia hoped to make an official pact between all the nations that would be mutually beneficial to all. Luna could tell her sister was stressed.
“Perhaps you are right, sister. Maybe it is just a dumb club of ignorant ponies. But until we have more information, shall we still keep an eye on it?” Luna asked carefully.
“No! We will not give them any attention. That’s all they want. I must raise the sun now, so please get some sleep sister. We have a big day approaching.” Celestia snapped. Luna looked slightly shocked but nodded and left.
Unknown to either sister, their conversation hadn’t private.
A pair of prying eyes watched the sisters from high atop a rooftop of the castle. She had had heard every part of their conversation and smirked at it. If only Celestia knew just how right her sister was. The pony leaned against a wall and thought to herself. If only they realized, she thought That even a giant can fall to the might of an overwhelming army of ants.
The eavesdropper departed quickly, her hooves not making a sound on the rooftops and she leaped from rooftop to rooftop and back into hiding in plain sight.
