The loud alarm clock kept ringing as Aria tried to wake up. She almost never got a good nights sleep, dreams about her abusive father and bullies woke her during the night. The tired filly sat up and stretched. "Great, another day of teachers and school." The filly hopped down to the ground and stood there. Sleep was still pondering her. As her eyelids closed, they quickly shot open by a loud bang on the door. "Get up, ya good for nothin' filly! And turn off that damn alarm clock while ya at it!" With a whack, she turned off the alarm. She trotted toward the mirror. Her mane was messier then usual. "Why do I even bother with my mane? I'm not pretty. I got plenty of ponys word for it." Instead of using her magic to grab the comb, she grabbed some makeup instead. Hiding her bruises, and occasionally a bloody scar, she started to apply light blue powder to her face. ~about 15 minutes later~ The sound of a all-too-familiar bang startled her again, which was followed by a angry, slurred voice. "Hurry up! If ya aren't done in 5 minutes, I'll get the belt out!" Not wanting to risk the belt again, she quickly scurried out. After letting her heart beat slow down, and walked to the kitchen. She took a look in the refrigerator. There wasn't much to eat. Beer, crackers, and a rotten apple. After tossing the apples out, she grabbed some crackers and went to the living room, but quickly turned back to find her father holding a beer and watching television. She definitely didn't wanna bother her father unless she had too. She wolfed down the crackers while walking back to her room. Quickly grabbing her backpack, she went back into the living room. As she walked toward the door to go to the bus stop, a strong hoof grabbed her shoulder and whipped her around. "Where ya think you're goin' with that hell of a messy mane ya have? Go brush it! Ignoring her fathers yelling and threats, she continued to walk to the bus stop. "Maybe today will be different." She said. One time, she caught a glimpse of a black-and-white photo of her mother as a child. Her eyes sparkled, her cheeks pink, and was holding up a paper with her magic, and those were the words it said. She didn't know why she wrote that, but it was her last glimpse of hope. ~ 10 minutes later ~ As she arrived at the bus stop, she was early. She opened her backpack and grabbed a golden wrist watch to check the time. When the one time she asked her father for a wrist-watch, he said either steal it or ask someone else. Not wanting to steal, she saw somebody drop it, and grabbed it. "7: 40. I'm early." The bus arrived at 8:00. "Might as well check if I have everything.." She was forgetful, and didn't wanna get yelled at by her father for a call from her teacher for missing homework. "Math homework? Check. " "Reading homework? Check." "Blue powder? Check." Sometimes the blue powder to hide the bruises came off. "Pencils, paper and a eraser? Check." "Picture? Check." She carried the picture of her mother, the one with paper and the words. "Wrist-watch? Obviously, check." "Lunch money for the bullies? Check." "Looks like all of it." With a screech, the bus pulled up in front of her. With a sigh, she stepped on. She was the last person to get on the bus, so almost always there was no seat for her, and even if there was, there was always a pony there that didn't let her sit next to her/him. "Look at her mane..." "I can't believe she puts that much make up on. She'll never be pretty." "I heard she's homeless.." "Look at the weird girl!" These were some of the remarks loudly whispered over ponies. She went to the back and sat on the floor, like she often does. After all, where else were you supposed to sit? The few ponies that had a empty seat all to themselves refused to let her sit there. With another screech. The bus began, and she sat there, listening to the awful remarks ponies made about her. She usually blocked them out, gets lost in her thoughts. ~ 15 minutes later ~ Another loud screech interrupted her train of though. Fillies rushed into the building, ready for the day to begin. She waited until there all gone. She was in no rush to get through another dreadful school day. This was her usual routine. Slowly, she got up and trotted to the door. She peered out onto the now-full school. "I better get going..." She slowly stepped out, and started walking, head down. She finally reached her first class, science. Whispering, she said, "Maybe, today will be different.." She opened the door to find a empty room. Huh? She opened her backpack and checked the time. 8:29. She wasn't late, but wasn't exactly early, either. She looked around. The desks weren't messed with, the chalkboard was clean and unused, and the teacher desk was cleared. She started to panic a little. Field trip? No, even she would remember that. As she continued to think, she gave up and wondered over to the teachers desk and prowled through it. Maybe there was something that would tell her why everybody was gone. A white paper caught her eye. As she picked it up, she realized it was a calendar. She looked for today's date, jan 16. "Let's see..jan, 16. Assembly." Oh no! The assembly! Carelessly, she dropped the calendar and rushed out the door, but quickly slowed down. It's bad enough she'll probably get detention for missing the assembly and a beating from her father, she didn't wanna get in trouble for running either. Minutes later, she arrived at the cafeteria, where most assembly's are taken place. She fast-walked to the assembly and finally got a breath as she stood upon the doors. After catching her breath, she opened the doors as silently as possible. CREEEEK! The old door sounded as loud as can be, and as she stepped into the room, all eyes were on her. Most fillies were either starting at her or snickering uncontrollable. Ash she walked to the nearest seat, she tripped and a uproar of laughter. "Today's going to be the longest day of my life..." She sighed. Author's Note Sorry for the short chapter! I'm doing this on my phone.. Chapter 2 : SchoolI sat down while others stared and had there fair share of laughs. Whatever the principal had to say, it wasn't important. At least not to me. It didn't take me long to get lost in my thoughts. ~minutes later~ The hoof steps of other fillies snap me out of my trance. I stepped down and finally found my teacher. Me and the other classmates follow her back to the classroom. ~*~*~ As the others sit down, the teacher starts talking about the days plans. But of course, I wasn't paying any attention, why does it matter? Not to soon the phone rings, loudly. I almost fell out of my chair, damn, that phone was loud! Snickers all fell behind me. Why did I have to sit in the front? "All right. When?" "In a couple of hours? What about them?" "Ok. Bye" The teacher finally hanged up the phone, and went to speak. "We have an emergency teacher meeting. And obviously since none of you are teachers, you won't be joining us. School gets out early at 1:30." Guess it's my lucky day, huh? I get out of this zoo early. ~time skip to 1:00~ Lunch is finally over, and I went through the rest of the day like usually. Shake off rude remarks, but some stuck to my head. I ignored all classes and accepted homework. Last class, finally. As I walked to my last class, reading, I couldn't even get through the door. Ever pony tried to get through the door to finish the last class. I didn't wanna bother with them. I light up my horn and try as hard as I can to teleport inside the classroom. I manage to do it, but barely. I continued to walk to my seat, but I do have to admit, I did walk a little proud. I was one of the few fillies that could teleport, even if it was barely. But I had a little help with a purple unicorn who stumbled onto our house. Father chased her away, but not before she gave me a book on teleporting. I managed to hide it from him, he hated it when I get anything new. "Looks at the lil miss show off. She's just like the rest of her family. So what if she can teleport? She'll never be like her mom like she wants too!" That instantly snapped my attention. Tears puckered my eyes, but I wouldn't give to them just yet. I won't even turn around. I walked, shakily and saddened, to my desk, I thought about that one comment during class. What if it was true? ~*~*~ Once the bell rang, I ran instantly out. I have made my choice. I'll run away. Not just from home, from the pain of teachers. Bullies. Father. I Mother would be anything but proud, heartbroken at the least. But I had lost all faith in her. Anything. I'm not taking the bus. Too long. I'm teleporting. Every time I tried, I would fail or get caught before I even did it. It was against school rules, but who cares? I ran to backside of the school. Father got off of work at 3:00, I didn't have much time. I need to pack and get out of there as soon as I can. As I ran to the backside of the school, my heart raced. Teachers yelled at me, but none couldn't leave there stations. Fillies stared, but I couldn't care less. I'm used to the stares. I'm used to it, but tired of it as well. I managed to get to back of the school, but I couldn't catch my breath. My horn light up, brighter then ever. I focused all my energy and strength into this. My legs and horn felt instant pain, but I still focused all the energy into it. Finally the magic flashed, and I was standing in my bedroom. I quickly then emptied my backpack. I didn't take the powder, considering it would run out soon and wasn't anything I needed to survive on my own with. I hurried to the kitchen and grabbed a few water bottles and canned goods, along with a can opener, aswell with s ome utensils. Hurrying back to the bedroom, I stuffed my backpack Then I grabbed a jacket, a pair of pants, a shirt and a hat, but only the dark colored clothes that I didn't wear too often. Infact, I hardly wore them at all! I know ponies don't wear clothes, but I will take them as soon protection against poisonous plants. Not good protection, but some. I then went to the dreaded fathers room. I use my hindlegs to break open his locked closet, which takes a while, my legs are weak and the lock is as hard as a rock. I've never looked in there, but has too much damn pride to buy our meat. He always said, and I quote, 'Those damn folks are shitty hunters. No sense in buying fake meat ove' there when you can get good meat in the woods." So I figured he had a knife. I finally found the knifes and took 3. A short one, a long one, and a thick one. I could use them for a defense and use them to hunt. I don't know everything about hunting animals, but I do remember reading a book from a library on how to hunt. I remember most of it, how to hunt of course, how to cut it,and how clean it and cut it. After stuffing my backpack full, I picked up my watch and checked it. 3:09. Father takes a good 40 minutes to get here, or and hour and 60 minutes if he wants a beer, which is water and salt mixed together, or if he finds a cute, desperate girl. I have no time to pack anymore, I fast-walked to the living room and stood at the door, and started having second thoughts. Should I do this? What will happen? Will I be found? If so, what will I do? What will happen if I get sick? I decided to take a leap of faith and do it. I open the door and breathed in the fresh air. I don't know why, but I knew this was the right choice. I can't explain the feeling, but I'll never forget it. Then I took a step out. Chapter 4 : HospitalI awoke with a haze, i couldn't feel any pain at all. As I began to open my eyes, I saw a bright light. It wasn't the kind that hurts your eyes, but one you want to look at. Forever. I got up, surprisingly with no effort at all. I began to notice my surroundings. The ground was soft and plush, like a cloud. Or how I imagined a cloud to be. A pony stepped before me, but I couldn't explain how he - or she, I forgot - looked like. Why? Because just then, a furious pain on my throat began. And oh boy, it took no mercy. A sharp point felt like it was injected in my side, and slowly, the sky, the pony, and the cloud disappeared. Then I felt drowsy, and dropped to the knees and passed out. I awoke again, but this time, I was laying down. A pink haired pony with a bun in her mane towered over me. "I see you're awake. Come with me, we'll get you checked out." I nodded and jumped out of bed. I only did it because I was confused, i had lost a lot of memory. Hell, i couldn't even tell you my name! Ignoring all the pain in my neck, I found that it was incredibly stiff. I tried moving my neck, but it did no use. As too my discovery, I was wearing a neck brace. Just then, I remembered being in a forest. But why? "Here you are, sir. Be careful to watch her when she's outside. We're lucky we were wen able to keep her breathing going." "Thank ya, miss." I looked up to see where to somewhat familiar accent was coming from. From the first look, I instantly got my memory back. I was shocked for a minute or two, but as soon as reality came back to me, I knew what I had to to do. If I go back, I'll surely accept defeat. And oh boy oh boy, he was going to give me a beating of a lifetime. Maybe he'll even knock me into a temporary coma! Just then, I kicked and scream and fought as hard as I could. I kept screaming "he's not my real father!". Why I chose those words? I don't know. My father and I look almost nothing alike, I got my mothers side, so I knew I could probably pull it off. I kicked and punched and slapped and did everything I could to throw everybody off balance. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the nurse coming with a needle. I knew she planned to put me to sleep so I could calm down, but I wasn't having any of it. I ran out door to see a small group of doctors and nurses, waiting for me, all with needles in their hoofs. They're fast! I knew I had to teleport, once again. As they slowly came closer, I focused all my strength, energy, focus and thought of the farthest way from here. With a spark, I ended up father then I've ever been - canterlot. Just outside the royal castle, too. With a hazy mind, I ran right into the castle. Why? I couldn't explain why. With the guards having all there spears on me, I stopped merely in the middle of the garden. They wouldn't kill a filly, would they? "Hault! What is your business here?" "I-I-...Just let me see the princesses!" I've heard nice words about celestia, so I figured if I played ny cards right, I could win a adoption from a princess. It was a long shot, I know, but what other choice did I have? If I ran back rumors would spread about the filly who foolishly ran unto the castle grounds, and words spread quick. My father could easily track me down once it got to ponyville. Plus, I didn't know where else to teleport. Yes, if I managed to get a room at the castle, rumors surely would spread, but what would my father do about it? I'm sure if I tell my story, one of the princesses would surely protect me. As I looked up, I realized I was so lost in my thoughts that they were all staring at me. Once they saw I was paying attention, one of the guards spoke up. "As order by Princess Celestia, she has agreed to see you. Carry on, but first..." The guards horn glowed, and a bubble appeared around my horn. A anti magic spell? If I tried to attack one of the princesses with magic, they'd surely kick my ass. I shrugged it off and tried to look as formal as I could. Back straight and eyes forward. As the guards hastily watch me enter the building, a guard stood there, blocking my path. "Come with me, I will show you the throne room, where her highness is occupying currently." As I quietly followed the guard, we soon came upon the throne room. The guard left, leaving me all along. But he stopped before he reached the end of the hall, stood there and watched. Jeez, ponies here are really protective! I quietly opened the door, and came across 3 ponies. Princess Celestia, her lesser known sister, Princess luna, and a pink pony who've I've never seen before. I gave her the nickname candyass when I saw her cutie mark. They all were drinking tea together, each on a throne. Celestias throne was the biggest and highest, Luna's a bit smaller, and candyass's throne a but smaller. But they stopped dead and watched me as I walked to the middle of the red carpet. I guess to break tension, Celestia threw a warm smile in my direction. "Hello. What's your name?" Chapter 5: happily ever...after?"A..aria." I muttered out while studying each princess. Sure, it was rude, but on ya handful of ponys besides the guards ever got too meet all three princesses. "Aria, is it so? You don't have to be so nervous. Let me start by introducing myself. I am Princess Celestia. Over here is my sister, Princess Luna." She said as her hoof indicates a mare to her right. She appeared to be shy, as for she moved her hair to where you couldn't see her face. "Here to my left in Princess Cadence." Instead of shying me away much like Luna, she winked instead. "Now that's out of the air, I would very much appreciate if you would tell me why you were wondering near the canterlot castle." "I uh.." Taking a deep breath, I prepared to explain my story. Falling weak to the knees, I explain every bit to the story. From when the abuse began, every single detail inbetween, and up to right now. It was hard, because I started crying during the middle of the story, and at the end I was choking on dry gulps. I saw some blue out of my eye. I looked up to see a cup of tea. I drank it fast, not stopping until the cup was empty. Putting the cup down, I ducked my head down and waited for someone to say something. I hear murmuring, I can't tell what the princesses are saying, though. After for what seemed like forever, the speaking stopped. The sound of hoofsteps cause me too hold my head up again. I see Celestia smiling at me. "We will allow you too stay in the royal castle for as long as you like. We will get you a counselor for your emotional problems. But you do have a choice, you may call a officer on your father or forgive him." With a heartbeat, I said police. A little louder then I should've.. With a nod, she gracefully walked back to her throne. "Gaurd, show this lady to the finest guest room we have. After that, please clean the blue liquid off the floor." Command Celestia. I looked down to see a blue liquid puddle near my hoof. The blue powder that I use to cover my scars must've mixed with my tears. It's amazing It the powder was still on my face. "Come with me, miss." I look up to see a White skinned and blue haired Gaurd. He walked toward the door and I slowly followed. I couldn't help but smile. I knew the abuse would never happen again. It didnt end up the way I wanted too. It turned out better. Chapter 3 : Deadly plantsAs I stepped out of the door, I knew I had forgotten something. Where will I run too? I thought of everybody who've I've even had the slightest touch of friendship with. And it wasn't a long list. After minutes of deciding, I couldn't figure out who would care enough for me to take me in. I decided to go to ponyville, as for it's the nicest town in equestria. Plus, my dad hates the town, which figures why we live so far from it. I mentally did a map in my head. Let's see, we were at the heart of the forest, which means ponyville is north. But just getting there will be a hassle. I hazily started walking north, carefully avoiding all plants that looked dangerous. As I saw a speck of light, I have tripped over a thick plant that didn't seem dangerous, so I shook it off. But minutes later, my stomache felt like it was turned inside out. My throat swelled up, making it halfway impossible to breath, and I couldn't feel my legs. Just shake it off, aria. You've been through worse. As I slowly kept walking, the world became a haze. I stopped to rest, but ended up fainting instead. And the last thing I saw was the shape of my father. Author's Note I am so so so sorry for the short chapter! I actually wrote a super-duper long chapter for you guys but I accidentally refreshed the page before publishing! This is sort of a summary thing. Next chapter will hit the 2,000 words landmark to make up for it! Sorry!

"Hello. What's your name?"
Chapter 5: happily ever...after?"A..aria." I muttered out while studying each princess.
Sorry!
