“Finally finished!” Spike announced as he rolled up the parchment. He set down the quill, it was just a rough draft of the real thing. “Now I just need Twilight to proof read it for me!”
Spike was the most handsomest dragon in Ponyville, maybe even in all of Equestria! His elegant purple scales were enough to make anypony swoon and....
It was a long week for Spike, he was doing some hardcore writing in the past few weeks. In fact, he just finished writing the last chapter. Yes, Spike was writing a book. Well not really a book per say, just a short story about him and his friends. And a bit of a romance might I add. He tried his best to depict his friends as best as possible.
Spike rushed into the library, parchment in hand, ready for Twilight to proof read it. And make some slight changes, like correcting spelling, and what is wrong with the characters personalities, Twilight was good with that sort of thing. “It’s done! It’s finally done!” he said pushing the parchment in Twilight’s face. She gave him a confused look, and asked, “What’s done?” She levitated the scroll out of his hands, and opened it. She read the first few lines of the the page and was reminded of what this was exactly.
“Oh, I was supposed to proof read your story, wasn’t I?”, “Yes! How could you forget?”, he asked slightly annoyed that she had forgotten something so important. “Well… it has been a while since you asked me to read it. About a month actually.” she stated while looking back at the small pile of scrolls. Spike had been working on his story for a month now, and he didn’t leave the desk once since he started, Twilight even had to go so far as to drag him off of the chair to get him to eat and sleep. Some ponies even came to the library asking if he was ok, she simply told them that he was working on a project and didn’t want to be interrupted until he was done.
“Well, ok.” she said. Twilight then trotted over to the small pile of scrolls. Each one had a different chapter labeled onto it. She had to dig through them for a minute to find the right one. After a few seconds of digging, she finally found the scroll that read, “Chapter 1”.
She sat on her pillow and started to read aloud. “Chapter…”
Meanwhile, at SugarCube Corner.
Pinkie Pie was baking cupcakes for the upcoming picnic her and the rest of the girls held every month. I wonder where Spikey was at last months picnic. She was starting to get kind of worried about him. And thinking aloud, she said, "I mean, he usually follows Twilight around everywhere, right?" Out of nowhere her ear, her tail, her arm, and her left eye started to twitch, the twitch turned into a violent shake. When she figured out what the sense meant, a rather loud “GASSSSSSSSPPPPPP” escaped her mouth. She dropped the cupcake tray but she didn't really care, she would clean it up later. And make a new batch. Then Pinkie Pie zoomed out the door at a speed that would make Rainbow Dash jealous beyond all belief.
Back at the Library,
“...1” “BANG” Twilight and Spike almost fell over in surprise from the sudden noise. Twilight got up and found her mane was messed up from falling over onto the floor. Standing up, she used her hoof to straighten out her mane considering she didn't have a brush on hand at the time. She walked out of her room, and look all over for the source of the noise. She looked at the door, and in the window, she saw Pinkie Pie’s face flattened against it, her eyes wide and begging, Twilight let out a relatively annoyed sigh and opened the door.
“Can I help you?” she said in an annoyed tone. She realised that that may have come across as a little blunt. But Pinkie just peeled her face off of the window. Her eyes were swirling, and her face was still flat. She shook her head,”My Pinkie sense told me somepony was about to read a story!!” She practically screamed it. Twilight shook her head in annoyance close to getting a headache, like she always does when she was around the spazzy pink mare. “Sigh...Yes Pinkie, I was about to read the story Spike wrote.” “Oooooooh! Can I read it too?” She asked excitedly. “Well...I don’t know, Spike might not want anypony else to hear it until it's complete.” (Wait, can Pinkie actually read? Pfft, nevermind, of course she can). And in a second Pinkie was down on the ground hugging Twilights leg with a pleading look on her face.
Looking up at Twilight, with puppy dog eyes, she started a rather long, (and also very loud)
”Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…..” “Pinkie, I don’t know if Spike would want another……” Twilight was drowned out by the continuous sound of Pinkie Pie saying please wich was getting louder and louder. And longer. “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” “Pinkie, I don’t know if….” but her constant attempts at getting the pink party pony to stop and go away were futile. “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” “OK FINE!!!!!” Twilight screamed as loud as she could to get Pinkie to hear her over the sound of her own pleading, and also drew the attention of other ponies that were currently walking by the library. “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!” She got up and pulled out her party cannon, she set it off, and as expected, confetti went everywhere. Twilight maintained the same expression. Annoyed, but soon, she smiled and let out a small laugh. Pinkie then bolted past Twilight. She seated herself on a cupcake pillow in Twilights room, which she pulled out of the eternal void. And then sat there ready to listen and smiling with glee. Twilight giggled to herself, it wasn't everyday that Pinkie came over. She was wondering why she was happy all of a sudden. Today wasn't the best day for her. She tried to get Spike to leave the desk for just one minute but he wouldn't budge. So all in all, seeing Pinkie was the highlight of the day. She wondered what made her so happy to see that pony anyway. "Oh, well." she would think about this later. But right now, she needed to read Spikes story.
“Sigh...Ok if there are no further interruptions, then, lets begin.” She picked up the parchment and read the first line, “Chapter 1: the Librarian, and the Baker”. She found herself smiling as she read the story aloud to Pinkie.
Oh... And Spike too.
“Thank you, come again!” Said the busy merchant.
It was a fine day in Equestria, in fact, it was the best weather they’ve had all week actually.
“Finally! A nice day to go out shopping!” Pinkie Pie said as she and Twilight Sparkle (well Princess Twilight Sparkle) walked through the bustling streets of the Canterlot marketplace.
“Well it has been raining all week. I’m just glad we can finally go out without getting soaked.” Twilight responded.
She was relieved that she could go out with Pinkie today, every other day this week has been too muddy and rainy to step foot outside of the library without heavy rain gear on. And even then it wouldn’t be enough to protect against the harsh elements.
“But look on the bright side! The weather team is giving us 3, super duper nice days to make up for all the recent downpours!” Pinkie Pie was now bouncing up and down in excitement next to Twilight.
As you would expect, this turned a few heads in the market. To most of the sophisticated, douchebaggy, upper-class ponies, hopping like an idiot in a public place was considered ‘uncouth’.
“Look at them. Such filthy, lower class ponies don’t belong even setting hoof in a high-class place such as Canterlot!” Said a passerby who was wearing way, and I mean way too much makeup for anybody to deal with. (I swear, most of her face was just product and cleaning oils.)
“How dare you talk about the Princess and the Element of Laughter that way! You have no right.”
Of course, both Twilight and Pinkie heard this. And turned their heads to see who it was exactly was defending them.
“Fancy Pants!?” Both of the ponies exclaimed in unison.
The blue mained colt stood there looking at them, a smile on his face, and the mare Elizabeth basically fawning over him (And I mean literally, over him, like, she was on top of him.)
“These two ponies are two of the most important ponies in all of Equestria! And personal friends of mine.”
“Oh! Fancy Pants! Um..uh, my sincerest apologies to all of you. I was not aware.”
She clumsily trotted away, obviously stunned that she had indirectly insulted one of the most important ponies in Canterlot.
“Are you two alright?” Fancy Pants asked, concerned. “I hope she didn’t offend you too much.”
Elizabeth somehow changed position on him, now standing at his side, her head leaning against his.
“Oh, no. Not at all.” Twilight reassured him, the concern left his expression.
“I apologise for that, the ponies here can be quite snobby at times.”
“Oh no, it’s fine! This kind of thing happens a lot when we come here.” Twilight replied laughing a bit.
There was an awkward silence for a while, the only time they really met and talked was at the Garden Party held in the garden outside of the building that Twilights’ birthday party was being held in.
“Well, it was nice seeing you again!” Pinkie Pie said as they started to walk away.
“Wait! Would you two like to come to my home for some tea sometime?” He offered.
“Well, ok. Hows the day after tomorrow sound?” Twilight responded.
“Perfect. We will have everything ready by then, and you can bring your friends as well.” He said.
“We’ll ask them.” Pinkie said, “Have a super day!”
“Same to you.”
Fancy Pants walked away from the two ponies. Leaving them to continue on with their day.
As Twilight and Pinkie Pie walked through the shopping districts of Canterlot, they had various conversations about this and that, like who would want to have tea with them and Fancy Pants.
“Well, Rarity of course would definitely want to go, she would never pass up an opportunity to have tea with one of the most important ponies in Canterlot. And Fluttershy, might want to go.” Twilight stated.
“I don’t think Rainbow Dash would want to go. But we should ask her just in case.” Pinkie put in.
“And if Rarity is going, AJ would probably want to go as well.” Twilight said.
Twilight has been having a lot on her mind lately. Of course she would never tell anyone about it, especially not Pinkie. Because most of her thoughts were about her. She was thinking that, maybe she should ask somepony for advice, about what to do with her little problem.
‘I should ask Applejack and Rarity!’ She thought to herself. ‘I mean, they are in a relationship, they should have some advice, right?’.
As the day grew older, Twilight and Pinkie had a great time. As they both rode the 8:15 train back to Ponyville, it was getting late, the sun was setting, and the train ride was at least 3 hours long.
45 minutes in, Twilight was feeling tired and her eyelids felt heavy. She felt herself drifting off to sleep. Looking to the right of her, she found that Pinkie Pie was asleep next to her. She smiled lightly, drifting off to sleep, she dreamt about what life would be like, if she and Pinkie were together. A dream she was determined to make a reality.
