"Well...here it is, Ponyville." You say as you crest the top of the hill that overlooks the town, while your wagon full of objects that hold memories is resting behind you.
Your name is Star Down. Throughout your life and up until this moment you have achieved many goals. Winning second place in "The Best Young Flyers Competition" at beginner flight camp, losing only to a Pegasus with a rainbow mane. Then after the race you moved up to intermediate flight camp where you came first in the "Best Teenage Flyers Competition," but this time ahead of the rainbow maned filly. Never did quite catch her name... or talk to her. And finally moving onto advanced flight camp. there was no rainbow maned Pegasus there, she must have left after losing or just couldn't be bothered with the training schedule anymore. You stayed in advanced flight camp after you graduated top of the class, to become a trainer for other Pegasi.
After two years of training other Pegasi you decided for a change of scenery and line of work, seeing clouds all the time wasn't that fun. That's when you came across a leaflet for Ponyville, it looked like a decent town and you could join the weather team there as it only had like 6 ponies on it. So now here you are, on your way to you new house, it's a ground house as you prefer the texture of ground compared to clouds.
Walking down the hill you start to pick up pace and advance to a trot as the cart full of household items starts to push you. Thanks gravity. On your way down you take time to survey the surroundings. Looking left you see thousands of apple trees and a barn. **Seems their food is grown locally, good. the taste of food that has been transported a long way tastes off. To the right you see an open field that eventually leads to a forest looking area with a single cottage next to it.
Ah! ponies, you thought as you finally cross the bridge into town. Damn, just by looking i can see this town is largely populated by mares. Not the best information you've received as you're more talkative to stallions than mares. Never known why, you just are.
"Hey there pal, you moving here?" a brown stallion in a tie asks.
Stopping dead in your tracks, and receiving a gentle bump from your cart. you reply to the stallion. "Yeah, this town looks pretty good and as i can see now, the ponies here are friendly." You reply back with a smile, nod and slight chuckle.
"Ah, well... thank you, i doubt anypony here will bring you grief, good luck." He says rubbing the back of his neck, he then proceeds to wave goodbye and trots off.
Looks like the ponies here are pretty chill, should be good. Continuing to trot to your house you pick up a few whispers from the town folk.
"Is he new?" questions a stallion.
"Looks pretty good" states a mare behind a flower stall.
"I really like his mane" sequels a white filly.
Hmm. It seems they don't get too many new ponies round here, well at least they know i'm here so i won't have to go around introducing myself and saying i'm new in town. After what seems like a 10 minute walk to your house you arrive. It's a two-story, classic looking house with a straw thatched roof and a garden in-front of it. Getting the key out of your cart you unlock the door and take a look around.
As you walk in you come into the living room, it seems to be already furnished with a 2 seated couch and a coffee table, not much but it will do. Continuing to walk down to the back of the house you arrive in the kitchen. Black and white tiled floor, the kitchen holds a couple counters, a fridge and a stove. Pretty decent for the price you payed. Trotting back into the living room and heading upstairs you see a door on the left side of the landing, peeking in you see its a basic bathroom. And on the opposite side to the bathroom is a study with some empty bookshelves and a single desk and chair. Might come in handy as a personal library. With that you come to the final room facing the stairs, looking in you see it's the bedroom. A king-sized bed is in the middle of the room adorned by two nightstands on either side. In the corner is a wardrobe and on the walls are painting of fields, Cloudsdale and other random stuff. After the self made tour you head back outside to bring the stuff you brought with you in. A guitar, picture of family, weights and a signed poster of The Wonderbolts (your most prized possession).
"Finally. Everything is unpacked." You proclaim as you slump down into the couch. Just then a knock on your door interrupts the peace. Walking over to it and opening it you can see it is a white unicorn with electric blue hair and a pair of shades on.
"Sup dude, couldn't help but notice but you moved in." she smiled at you before continuing, "i'm Vinyl Scratch, I live next door with my marefriend Octavia, i just came by to say hi and give you this." She floats over a CD apparently made by her and it's signed. I'm going to have to find out who this Vinyl Scratch is.
"Ah...well thanks, i wasn't expecting to have a warm welcome this early," you rub the back of you neck out of nervous habit. "Are you some type of musician? because i play guitar."You explain with an awkward smile.
"Yeah i am, i'm a DJ working in a club downtown, since you have a guitar, do you play it by any chance?
"Yeah."
"That's awesome, we should jam some time." She says while bobbing her head to music only she can hear.
"Yeah that would be great, thanks for your CD." You say as she begins to walk off.
"Watch out for Pinkie Pie!" the mare yells before diving back into her house.
Watch out for Pinkie Pie, what the hay is that suppose to mean. you say in your head as you close the door. With a soft click the door shuts and you look at the clock to check the time, 7 PM. "Well i am exhausted." you explain to no-pony in particular. With that you walk back upstairs and head to bed. While laying there a couple thoughts pop into your head.
Today went well.
Need to use my wings tomorrow, didn't use them at all today.
I wonder what i look like, Probably crap.
Drifting off to sleep you sink into you mattress and let Luna's night take you.
