Well, this was an odd day

Sapphire Bucketpaint trotted down the sidewalk of Canterlot. She was a white Pegasus Pony with a dark brown mane and tail with highlights, and a paintbrush with a teal paint stream that looped and led to her tail. Today, she was wearing saddlebags full of bits and a few books for the road.

Sapphire smelled the air and smiled. " Man, Canterlot sure does smell good." Sapphire said as she opened her folded wings. Her large wings, meant for gliding, opened up, only she kept half folded since she wasn't about to fly yet.

She looked around for a restaurant. Or maybe a stand. Either way, she was hungry. Then, the mare's dark brown eyes opened suddenly in excite. She trotted toward a little stand selling crepes and tarts, which was surrounded by tables with fancy-looking cushioned chairs with a wing place for Pegasi.

When the white mare got to the stand, the Cashier Pony, a unicorn named " Crepe le Tart ", said politely with a French Accent " Hello, ma'am, what can I make you today?" " Could you give me a minute, please? Thank you." Sapphire looked at the menu, which was under the table sticking out of the stand. Her eyes brightened as she read the menu. She looked up to Crepe. " I'll take one Nutella and banana crepe, and two strawberry tarts." Crepe nodded and got to work on Sapphire's order. Sapphire didn't know that strawberry tarts even existed, or what the paintbrush they tasted like, but apparently, they tasted good.

Sapphire took out an Ancient Ponies book from her saddlebag and sat down on a chair in front of a table next to the stand. Her left ear twitched as she heard someone approaching. She bookmarked her page, set the book down and looked up. Crepe was coming towards her table, carrying two small pie-looking things (the tarts, Sapphire presumed.) and a crepe each on separate glass plates.

Crepe put the crepe and two tarts on the table. " Ten bits, please." Sapphire handed Crepe ten bits form her saddlebag, remembering that each crepe was four bits and the crepe was two. " Thank you. Enjoy your meal." Crepe said as she took the bits in her magic and trotted back to her stand.

Sapphire started on her delicious crepe and finished it within ten minutes. Then she turned toward the tart. They looked like very small pies.Kinda. They had peach-colored cream and four pieces of sliced strawberries on top with small squares of strawberries in the center on the sliced pieces. They looked very inviting.

Sapphire bit into the first tart. It was as delicious as it looked. As she finished up the last one a few minutes later, Crepe took the other two glass plates. Before she left, Sapphire asked if she could have a glass of water. Crepe nodded and continued walking toward the stand.

As Sapphire finished her glass of water, she payed one bit for it and took off gently into the midday sky.

Sapphire shivered at the winter air of Canterlot skies. Suddenly a lot of clouds came into view, blocking her vision.

Sapphire screamed as something dark and shadowy came towards her. Then she felt hooves under her, holding her up. Sapphire looked up.

A dark blue Alicorn with teal eyes looked down at Sapphire. " Well, someone should probably think before they take off into the cloudy sky." The mare joked as she flew to the Princesses castle. " Princess Luna?" " The one and only!" The mare said.

Sapphire flapped her wings and almost fell out of Luna's grip. "Alright. You can fly. It wasn't hard carrying you anyway. You weigh as much a filly!" Luna remarked as she used her magic to line up Sapphire like she was flying. " Flap your wings as soon as you feel my magic go away." Luna instructed.

Sapphire started to flap her wings as Luna's magical grip faded away. Then, before she knew it, they were flying toward the Princesses castle, talking all the way.

As Sapphire and Luna descended, Sapphire asked a question she'd been wondering: " Luna, why were you flying in the clouds?"

"I was headed toward my castle, of course. Then I turned the wrong direction and bumped into you." She said as they landed and the guards let them in. The castle looked the same as it did on the Grand Galloping Gala, only with no decorations or Princess Celestia. They walked into the room where they held Princess Twilight's coronation. Then they turned toward a large dark blue door with a crescent moon on it that Sapphire had never noticed before. Sapphire looked behind her and saw another door, same height, only it was white with a sun on it. Next to that was a purple door with a star and six tiny stars surrounding it, that was also the same height.

Sapphire looked around as they entered the room. It looked like a regal bedroom. There was a master bed with a canopy to the right, which were both blue with moon designs on them, a white bean bag next to it, a drawer overfilled with socks and armor across the room,a clear door directly ahead of the door at the end of the room which led to a balcony, and a door leading to a closet next to the drawer. And the whole room was painted like the night sky, with every single constellation and some other ones Sapphire had never seen before. The floor was peach-colored tiles with a green rug and a blue rug next to it, both soft enough to sleep on, which someone obviously had, since there were two white blankets on each, and one large moon pillow.

" Welcome to my room, Sapphire!" Luna said. Sapphire looked ta Luna in shock. " What?" Luna said, confused. " You know my name? I haven't told you it yet!" Sapphire exclaimed. " It is my royal duty to know every pony's name." Luna stated. " Oh! Awesome!" Sapphire said as Luna walked to the door leading to the balcony and opened it.

Luna stepped outside and watched as Sapphire followed her to the large balcony. " Wow.." Sapphire said, in complete awe. Luna's horn started to glow bright blue as the sun set. Sapphire looked to the left. She saw Princess Celestia, whose horn was glowing a bright gold. On Celestia's left was Princess Twilight, whose horn was glowing to. As the moon slowly rose, constellations appeared from Twilight's magic.

Sapphire looked at the beautiful night sky Twilight and Luna had created.

They all met in the Throne Room, where Twilight's coronation was held.

" Who might this be, sister?" Celestia said as she turned toward Luna.

" A resident of Canterlot." Luna replied. " Actually, I was just staying there for a bit. I am planning to move to Canterlot, though." Sapphire said.

Sapphire turned toward Twilight  while Luna explained what happened to Celestia.

" Hi Princess Twilight!" Sapphire said. " Hi..... um..... Sapphire.....?" Sapphire nodded at Twilight's unsure face. Twilight looked at Sapphire's large folded wings. " Sapphire?" Twilight said, not taking her eyes off Sapphire's wings. " Ya-hum?" Sapphire said.  " Could you teach me how to fly better? Rainbow Dash, the Element of Loyalty, is in  Ponyville right now.." Sapphire nodded. " Right now?" Sapphire asked.

Sapphire unfolded her wings that were almost as big as Twilight's wings.

Twilight nodded, staring at Sapphire's wingspan.

"Alrighty then, Twilight. Lets practice outside, but where no pony will see us." Sapphire said as she walked toward Luna's open bedroom door. " Why are we going in Luna's bedroom?" Twilight asked, watching as Sapphire stepped onto Luna's balcony. "We can start by practicing going to the back of the castle, by flying." Sapphire said as she got onto the railing of the balcony. Twilight's heart nearly stopped as Sapphire wobbled a bit. Sapphire looked back. " I'm fine. Just follow me." And with that, Sapphire flapped her wings and took off.

Twilight did the same as Sapphire, standing on the railing, and launching off, with Sapphire watching her the whole time.

Twilight flapped her wings very hard. " Should I glide or flap?" Twilight asked. " I'd prefer you flap, but not hard. You should probably flap until you feel safe enough for gliding." Sapphire replied as she started to glide toward the back of the castle.

Twilight came next to Sapphire and glided in the air. Suddenly Sapphire's right wing went stiff and Sapphire started to fall, screaming loudly. " WHAT THE HECK! HOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sapphire screamed as she fell. Twilight gasped and flew as quick as possible to save Sapphire. Then she felt a humming in her horn. Twilight stopped. A violet aura went around Sapphire, who had probably just lost her sanity.

Twilight flew down to Sapphire, who was eight feet from the ground. " You okay?" Twilight asked a wide-eyed Sapphire. Sapphire nodded slowly. " That was terrible." Sapphire said as she tried to flap her wings in Twilight's magical grip. Then she proceeded to yelp in pain. " I'll just carry you down." Twilight said after a moment. Sapphire nodded and folded only her left wing, as her right wing was still stiff and hurt to much to move (Sapphire had discovered that the hard way).

Twilight set Sapphire down in a laying position, carefully putting her right wing on the grassy ground. Twilight put her hooves on the soft castle grass. " Should I get a Medical Pony?" Twilight asked herself as Sapphire stared at her wing, her hooves slowly reaching towards it. Then Sapphire gently picked up her right wing using her hooves. Sapphire sat up. " Can't you use your magic to fix it?" Sapphire asked. Twilight looked at her. " I could try, though I don't know what to do since I don't know what's wrong with your wing." " Oh. Then yeah, we need a Medical Pony." Twilight nodded as trotted toward the castle door that went to the room that had a door leading to the Infirmary.

A few minutes later, Twilight and Nurse Redheart, who was visiting from Ponyville, came out to a Sapphire laying on her left side, with both wings out. " Twilight, you said her right wing went stiff?" " Yes." " Well, I'll just take an x-ray." Nurse Redheart said, heading back to the Infirmary.

She came back out with a bag of medical supplies, a gurney and an x-ray machine. She set those inside except for the gurney.

As Nurse Redheart rolled the gurney across the grass to the white mare on her side, Sapphire groaned. " What if it's broken?" She said. " We'll never know until we check." When they had gotten inside, with Sapphire carefully propped on the gurney, once they took an x-ray, it turned out it was broken. Nurse Redheart put the bones back in place using her magic and put some ointment on it to numb the pain. Then she carefully wrapped it while it was open.

" Guess I'm not going anywhere." " You can stay in my bedroom in the castle. I have two beds in there for a guest." Twilight offered. " Thanks, Twilight." Sapphire said.

Later on, ad Sapphire got in a hammock hanging four feet off the ground in Twilight's room, she said " Today has been productive. Very productive."
