The Start of The End
It was a amazing day, the sky a seemingly endless bowl of blue. 'Nothing could ruin this day' Twilight thought, because of Twilights duties she had few chances to take in the perfection of the world, she gratefully walked out in the Canterlot parks. Sometimes ponies would bow to her, but it didn't matter that much to her right now, as nothing could ruin her day.
The advances in Equistirian technology was amazing, seemingly an infinite amount of energy came off their nuclear fusion reactors, powering their days and nights. But that wasn't all, medicare is advanced enough to cure all but the worst forms of cancer and ponies were never attacked from wild animals ever again. All seemed perfect, that was until a guard came running to Twilight. "Princess Twilight! Princess Celestia needs you urgently!," the guard said "She didn't tell my why but she did say that she needed you urgently'',
So what would Twilight do when a guard told her those things? She teleported of course! Teleporting to the throne room Twilight say Princess Celestia sitting on her throne. "Ah, Twilight, you're here," Princess Celestia said "look, there is no time, come with me immediately". Twilight didn't know what she was doing but listened anyways "Princess, what are we doing?" Twilight asked "And also where are we going, I've never bee-" Twilight was cut off from princess Celestia, "Look, Twilight, I am going to be completly straight with you" she said "The griffins have lunched nuclear missiles at Equistria and we need to take cover now".
As she said that they were walking into a small, titanium room with many supports. As the door was closing Twilight asked if Celestia have informed the public, of course, she replied, the public have been notified to reach their vaults and begin closing them. just as theirs. And not a moment too soon, as just as their vault closed there was a large earthquake, followed by very loud shockwaves, signaling that the missiles have struck home. They thought that their home was safe so they went to their rooms and hoped for the best. Of course Twilight being Twilight, she snuck to the library for a few hours. The books she found there were amazing, magics that she never explored, even ways to see through walls, without using magic! The books she read for hours on end tought her new ways to contol her magics, new ways to observe the very fabric of time.
As time went on, Twilight realized that the books she was reading wern't just from the public part of the library, but the ristricted archives even Celestia's personal collection. When the clock hit 5:00 AM, Twilight thought about going back to bed. But after arguing with herself she disided that sshe cold do a all-nighter. When Twilight came across the Sarswirl the Bearded section she found bookks that she never even seen before, even a spell-book that tought her to raise and lower the sun and moon. And so Twilight studied on and on on this book, when she was done 250 pages of notes were written. As Twilight looked back to the clock, she discovered that it was noon, wondering why no one have found her yet, she went to go see why. When Twilight tried to open the door, she found that it was stuck, it took her several minutes to pry open the door, only to discover something horrifying to her.
The entire hallway have collapsed.
