Vincent van Colt, a young Pegasus stallion hailing from Fillydelphia and Liverhoof, finds a new lease of life in Ponyville with little unicorn sister Fictionary, and the siblings make new friends with the Mane Six and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. When she enrolls for Miss Cheerilee's class on her first day, Fictionary stands up to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon in front of the other foals, and gets praise for her bravery.

However, the two snobby fillies get back at her by spreading lies about Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack, and then saying her older brother made up the names he gave them. When the truth comes out, Vincent's life takes a turn for the worse and nearly bleeds to death, haunted by the visions of his tragic past. What dark secrets is he hiding from the Ponyville citizens, and can a certain Princess of the Night convince him to look at the future?

Set during season three; mostly rated for Everyone, Teen rating does apply in chapter four.
