I woke up to my normal routine of shutting off the alarm clock, take a shower, get dressed and have breakfast. I am a overweight … ok look I am fat, I am a 17 year old guy who is a bit too lazy at home and I don't eat quite right but that doesn't stop me on bit. I have a job as a farm hand and threw that I realized that I am strong.
I sat down at my kitchen table and pored my self a bowl of Captain Crunch cereal. I was always the first up in my family so I ate in peace. Until I heard the phone ring and I checked the caller Id, I realized it was my boss and I answered the phone.
“Hello Mrs. Sheryl.”
“Hey Miles can you come down today.”
“Yah sure, what time?”
“How about seven o’clock.”
I looked around the room and saw it was about six thirty.
“I see you in about ten minutes then.”
“Great see you then Miles” Mrs. Sheryl said as she hung up the phone. I put my phone down and finished eating my breakfast of Captain Crunch cereal. I put my dirty bowl into the sink and grabbed my stuff for work.
I bring a few items with me when I leave my house. I bring my favorite coat and scarf with me all year long, even during summer but I usually leave it near by during those times. I also bring my trusty husky gloves that I only bring with me when I go to work. Lastly I have a six-inch pocketknife that I use as an all-purpose tool.
I went out the front door of my house and started my car. Being 17 I still lived with my parents and they got to use the garage next to the house while I had to park in the yard. It was currently wintertime so I cursed my self for not starting the car sooner.
When the car finally got warm enough to defrost the front window I pulled out of my driveway and went to work. I pulled into the farm and stepped out of the car, taking a deep breath I took in the sent of horses and hay. Letting out a sigh of relief I walked to the barn where I could see Mrs. Sheryl standing looking at a trailer filled with hay bales.
“Hello Mrs. Sheryl what do you need me to do” I said with a smile on my face.
“Miles I need you to unload the hay and then you can go,” She said with a look of frustration.
“That’s all today?” I asked with a hint of surprise in my voice.
“Yah that’s it today.”
I shrugged and went to work, It took me about two hours to unload the trailer. I then went to the end of the barn and signed my name and the hours I worked on a calendar. I was just heading back to my car when a stranger walked into the barn.
He was an older gentleman who had snow-white hair and a dark brown coat on. He took a look around and his eyes eventually rested on me. He came over and took a shallow bow.
“Hello Mr. Miles” He said with a toothy grin.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
“Oh Mr. Miles its more of how can I help you” he said raising from his bow.
“I wish only to offer you an opportunity of a life time.”
“What do you have that I want?” I asked with a bit of paranoia in my voice.
“First I want you ask you a question?”
“Ok shoot.”
“If you where able to get to Equestria what would you be.”
This caught me off guard; I took a second to think out my answer.
“Personally I would be a dragon.”
“Why?”
“Well I would be a dragon because they’re powerful and fearsome, but they have that tendency to be greedy. I however am able to control my self and I think I could do some good in Equestria.”
The man gave a big smile and looked strait into my eyes.
“So do you want to go to Equestria?”
“Um yes … if I could.”
“Welcome to your new life Miles the dragon!”
“Wait … what?” was the last thing I said. I felt the feeling of falling and I blacked out before I could hit the ground.
I felt nothing; my mind felt like it was flying through a void. I saw a little bulb of light ahead of me and I raced toward it. I reached it only to feel a sudden shock as my body landed with a thud. It took a second of resting there for me to get my bearings.
I slowly flipped over to my back and sat up, I took a look around. I was in the middle of an open plain of grass. The air smelt different, like it was clean and untapped. I heard the wind go by and I realized that I could hear the grass shifting clearly; I made the mistake of focusing on the grass because my vision zoomed in on the single blade.
“HOLY SHIT” I yelled as I forced my eyes shut. I began to lie down and a pain shot threw my but and back as I jumped up and looked down. There was nothing on the ground except for the matted down grass of where I was laying.
“What was that pain then” I said as it dawned on me. I looked behind me and for the first time realized I had wings, a tail and a weird outline on my body. I then looked at the rest of my body and only one thought came to me.
“No way, IM A DRAGON!”
I jumped for joy and that’s when I became stupid. I got a devilish grin and started spiriting, I then leapt into the air and spread my wings. I was rewarded with a mouthful of dirt.
“This is going to take some practice,” I grumbled
Something then covered my head and blocked my view. I took it off to see my coat and scarf. The coat was a brown and green camouflage while the scarf was a Dark red and blue. I then realized the color clashing; I had Silver scales while the spikes on my back were a golden color.
“Rarity would kill me if she saw me… wait if I’m a dragon then the guy really did send me Equestria.”
I couldn’t contain my joy as I began to dance around and just be happy.
“I can work on flying later, now I want to shoot fire”
I reared up and took in a big breath; I felt something burning in my chest as I breathed out. Only a small puff of smoke shot out, I took a breath and sucked in some of the smoke. I then got into a coughing fit and sneezed shooting out a small blast of flame that scared me and I landed on my butt.
“Ok, don’t to that until I have practiced a bit.”
I stood back up and looked around again, this time I saw a small pond in the distance, thanks to my new eyes. I made my way over there and took a sip of the water. It was the cleanest and freshet I have ever had.
As I was drinking I looked at my reflection and say that my spine spikes went to the top of my head. I also had golden eyes, my body was quite muscular and I was no longer fat. I then looked to closely as my eyes zoomed to the bottom of the pond.
“Ok first I am going to master my senses.”
I sat down and took a deep breath. Closing my eyes I adjusted my hearing so that I only heard my breathing, I then adjusted for a wider sensing range then back to a little one. I repeated this process for all my senses.
“Great now I can focuses on flying.”
MY stomach let out a great growl.
“Ok now I’m starving” I let out a sigh. Looking around I found no sighs of life anywhere.
“Great, I’m in Equestria and I have no food. Great so I’m going to starve,” I said my anger growing. I was about to say something else when I hear footsteps behind me. I turned to see a dragon behind me. The dragon had Green scales and yellow spikes on his spine; he was about a head taller than me.
“Who the buck are you,” he said with venom in his voice.
“My name is Miles,” I said with a fake smile.
“Whatever just get lost.”
“And why would I do that good sir?” I said still holding my fake smile.
“Because this is our pond,” the drake said pointing to two other approaching drakes that had a pony in their claws. The pony was a unicorn mare that had a cream fur and a dark read mane, her cutie mark was of a half buried ruby. She was crying and trying to scram but she had a gag in her mouth.
“What are you doing with the mare?” I asked now dropping my smile.
“She is going to find gems for us or she will drown.”
“I don’t think you should treat her like that,” I said as the other drakes arrive.
“Yah, you and what army?” the drake on the left said with a bold look. The drake on the right eyes shot right open.
“Guy’s he’s a silver scale” the drake on the right said with a look of shock.
“So what I’ll just kick his ass and get on with our business” the main drake said as he stepped closer. I cracked my knuckles and stepped forwarded.
The main drake threw a punch at me but I blocked it and stepped in close to him while delivering a punch to his torso. As he was doubling over I grabbed his head and slammed it into my knee. I then smashed my fist into his face sending him sprawling. I however resaved a right hook from the left drake as the right drake was now holding the mare.
I recovered and took a fighting stance the left drake came at me with a left hook but I dogged and grabbed his wrist then I pulled his arm further forward, he stumbled forward and grunted in pain as I sent my fist into his chest. I then kicked his legs out from under him. As he went down the main drake got up and lunged at me. I got rocked and sent into the pond, he then jumped on me and held my head into the water. I struggled for air as my lunges began to burn.
I was staring up at him, a smirk of successes on his face. My vision began to fade as the sight of the crying mare came into view. I felt my body ripple. I wasn’t going to die here, not when I just got here, and not when this mare counted on me. I reached around and felt something enter my grasp. I swung it up and it slammed into the drake’s head gushing blood everywhere.
I got up breathing rigidly; looking at my new weapon I recognized it as pick axe but one side was a pick and the other was an axe head.
“Holy buck he just killed raptor” right drake said.
“I’ll kill him,” the left drake said right before my axe blade cut into his left shoulder and he stopped breathing. I ripped the blade out and looked to the only drake remaining. He was red scaled with dark blue spikes.
“You will regret this one day!” he said has had thrown the mare at me. I caught her a looked to see the drake fly away. I untied her while whipping her tears.
“Are you ok?” I asked while looking her over, She had no major wounds.
“Yes I think so” she had a slight accent.
“Can you walk?”
“Probably, those brutes where a bit rough though”
“My name is Miles, may I ask what is yours” I gave a slight smile.
“My name is Crimson Spade, but you can call me Spade for short” Spade said with a smile of her own.
“Can I ask what they wanted?”
“Yes you may, they wanted me to find some gems that somepony buried around hear”
“Oh” I was about to say more when my stomach growled. I got a small bit of embarrassment.
“Lets get cleaned up then well get a bite to eat, and before you say no it is the least I can do for the genitaldrake who saved my life” I got a bit more blush as I helped Spade to her feet. Her horn had a slight glow as a wave of magic washed over her and her form cleared it self of dirt and grime.
I walked over to the pond and pushed the dead drakes body out of the water. I then cleaned my scales of blood while Spade performed the same spell on my clothing. Once we where washed up I put back on my coat and scarf then my new axe, it was a bit rusted but none the less effective.
“Lets be on our way then,” Spade said heading to the east.
The sun was just setting as I hoped this trip wasn’t going to take long because I could eat a horse, Wait … bad word choice.
