Twilight Sparkle held her one open eye close to the opening to her packing bag so she could place the last item in ever so neatly. Twilight Sparkle was very obsessed with order and wanted everything in pristine condition. "Almost there..." said Twilight as she was almost done neatly packing one of the most important things into her packing bag, her tooth brush. And that was another thing that Twilight Sparkle held in such high regard, her health. After all, a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. "There!" proclaimed Twilight when she finished packing her bag. Twilight Sparkle only packed one book for her trip: Pony Anatomy, her weakest subject. This trip was almost solely about dinner with the princess, so reading would take place at night before bed when everything was peaceful.
The princesses sent Twilight and her friends an invitation not ten minutes ago, and Twilight was already prepared. Twilight had not given her friends their invitations yet, though she had a hunch that they would agree to go straightaway. Rarity would of course go due to her love of high-up places and big cities. Applejack would go because she would love to bring up her farm as a conversation topic at the royal dining table. Rainbow Dash would go because she was loyal to her friends and would never leave their sides. Pinkie Pie would go because she like parties, even if they were quite and polite ones. Fluttershy would go because she liked to enjoy a meal with her closest friends and the Princesses. Fluttershy would probably also like to meet up with Discord and see how he's doing. 'Uhhh, he better not ruin our dinner party!' thought Twilight. Twilight had also read that Princess Cadance and her brother Shining Armor would also be attending the dinner party. If Discord got in the way of this like her and Princess Cadance's "relaxing" vacation, then she would go berserk.
Twilight slapped herself mentally to rid her of the unpleasant thoughts. "I had better go and deliver these letters!" said Twilight happily as she trotted out the door to find her friends. Twilight had been trotting down the dirt path to the Carousel Boutique to deliver Rarity's letter. It wasn't long before she encountered Pinkie Pie bounding down the road towards her, with her cotton candy like hair bouncing all the way.
"Hiya Twilight! watcha got there?" asked Pinkie in a very chipper mood.
"Well Pinkie, I just received some private invitations from Princess Celestia herself asking all of us if we would like to attend a private dinner party. I have your letter here. Would you like to come alo-" began Twilight before she was cut off by Pinkie Pie yelling in her face.
"OH YES YES YES! I would absoluletely positively love to go! Let's go find Rainbow Dash and Rarity and Fluttershy and Applejack and give them their letters too!" finished Pinkie in a single breath. Pinkie was always happy about small things, so it wasn't too surprising
"Well that's fantastic Pinkie! I was planning to go to Rarity first, so let's go to the Carousel Boutique." declared Twilight.
"Okie Dokie Lokie!" replied Pinkie in her trademark phrase.
Rarity was finally done applying her latest design for griphons. After making sure that it was just perfect enough for a griphon duke, she was finally content with her own hornwork. It had taken a good three weeks to finally come up with a good design, but maybe she would have been done sooner if her sister Sweetie Belle had not tried to help so frequently. Fire is never a good design for a dress, especially a real fire. Rarity would soon have to find a client willing to buy her latest design, but she knew not of any griphons roaming about Equestria, let alone one with a lot of bits, or in their case, Emperor coins.

"Who is it?" yelled Rarity a little concerned by the frantic knocking.

Rarity tried again, "Yes?"

Rarity was getting tired of this, so she decided to open the door to see who it was. The knocks were now blocking out her voice as she ranted to herself. "For Celestia's sake! all you have to do is tell me your name. Why should I have to walk to the door!". Rarity swung the door open only to find Pinkie Pie standing there with envelopes in her mouth. "Of course."she muttered to herself. Twilight was there as well behind Pinkie Pie doing a facehoof. It's not like Rarity could blame her.
Pinkie Pie dropped the letters onto Rarity's doorstep and sucked in some air like a beached whale because she held her breath the whole time. "Pinkie Pie, what was that all about?" inquired Rarity.
"I couldn't talk because I had letters in my mouth you silly goose!" replied Pinkie.
Twilight decided to cut in and end the alternative topic. "Actually Rarity, Pinkie Pie and I came along to give you one of those letters there. Twilight pointed to the letters on the doorstep to get her attention. "They're invitations to the princess' private dinner tonight. She just wanted us all to catch up with the latest events with Cadance and Shining Armor, no strings attached. She asked me to respond by 5:00 P.M. so she would know whether or not to send a royal chariot to escort us there. Would you like to join us?
This is just what Rarity needed, a high class dinner with her and her friends. "Of course I will come! I was in long need of a sophisticated gathering for weeks!"
Twilight was happy, "That's excellent Rarity! I have to get the others their letters as well, Meet at the library before 5:00. That goes for you too Pinkie Pie."
"Okie Dokie Lokie!" replied Pinkie.
Rainbow Dash stood upon a cloud watching Fluttershy fly from her cottage towards the tree line leading to the Everfree forest. Fluttershy had asked Rainbow Dash to be her flying coach to help her get stronger at flying just in case she had to do an animal rescue on short notice. Rainbow Dash was of course loyal to her friends and would do anything to help them, especially Fluttershy. Rainbow Dash wore a cap and a Wonderbolts fan vest to symbolize her role. She also wore a stopwatch around her neck because only eggheads could count perfectly in their heads. "That's one minute and twenty seconds!" yelled Rainbow to Fluttershy who just finished the distance.
Fluttershy flew back over to Rainbow who was sitting on her cloud. "Is that good?" wondered the yellow Pegasus.
Rainbow had to break it to her. "Eh, uh, no. You are still as slow as you were when we started training."
"I can get better, I promise! I will not let an animal down just in case they need help in the future!"
Rainbow Dash sighed. "Fine. I never said that I would quit now did I? But I said this a hundred times before: your adrenaline will most likely kick in when an animal is in danger, so there is no need to train like Bulk Biceps at the gy-"
"Hey look. It's Pinkie and Twilight. What do you think they want?" asked Fluttershy interrupting Rainbow's simile.
"I dunno, let's take a break and find out. We only had one well enjoyed break all day."
Rainbow Dash glided down at a normal pace. Fluttershy was flying her fastest and was only slightly ahead of Rainbow. "Hi Pinkie, Hi Twilight. What are you doing here, if you don't mind me asking?" asked Fluttershy.
"Oooh Oooh! Can I tell them Twilight pleeeeeeeeez?!" asked Pinkie desperately.
"Fine". said Twilight.
Pinkie Pie jumped behind a bush and emerged a second later with a suit on with the envelopes in a single hoof. Don't ask because nobody can truly understand Pinkie, even her friends or the most educated pony scientists. What's even weirder is that Pinkie Pie's voice was mature and professional like a big Zebra.
"Princess Celestia invited us all to go to her dinner party tonight, so bring your stuff because we aren't leaving you..."
Rainbow Dash was used to Pinkie's antics and ignored it. "Oooookay."
Pinkie Pie handed Rainbow Dash the two letters. Rainbow gave the one letter to Fluttershy. Both read over the letters. Fluttershy decided to speak up, "I would love to go, spending some quality time with my friends and the princesses is a great way to relax after all of this training.".
"I agree." said Rainbow, "I need a break from training Fluttershy for so long!"
Twilight was happy to hear it. "We are all going to meet at the library before 5:00, so be there if you are coming."
"Yeah yeah, jeez twilight we just said that we were coming." said Rainbow.
"Ok, glad to see that you are still loyal to your friends." stated Twilight.
Rainbow Dash just rolled her eyes and beckoned Fluttershy back into the fields to train some more. "Let's go Pinkie, we still have to give Applejack her letter."
Pinkie once again replied with "Okie Dokie Lokie!".
Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle had been walking through the giant apple orchard looking for Applejack in the fields, but when they could not find her, they just decided to go to the farmhouse and ask for her. Applebloom was generous enough offer to go get her for them, in which they were happy to accept. When Applebloom returned with Applejack in tow, she was sweating like a pig and her face was almost as red as the apples that she harvested. Twilight just figured that she had just been working extra hard today. That just increases the chances of her accepting.
"Salutations Applejack!" started Twilight, " Working extra hard today I see..."
"You bet Twi, but I didn't choose ta do so much work today. It's jus' that Big Mac is sick with a fever an I have ta take over his part o' the chores." said Applejack, breathing mildly.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be, it's not your fault, sugarcube. Bad things happen and we all have to learn to deal with them." said Applejack. "But what brings you here, I didn't even notice Pinkie Pie back there starin' at us from around the corner."
Twilight looked out to where Applejack was looking and saw Pinkie Pie staring at them from around the corner of Applejack's barn with a SOOOON face. "Pinkie! Get over here!" yelled Twilight.
Pinkie trotted over and handed Applejack the last envelope.
"What's this?" inquired Applejack.
Twilight was going to tell Applejack to avoid any more Pinkie Pie incidents. "Princess Celestia invited all six of us to go to Canterlot castle this evening with Cadance and Shining armor to have a relaxing dinner party! Would you like to come?"
"Ah'd love ta sugarcube, but my brother needs me around to take care of his chores for him... ahm sorry it had ta be this way" finished Applejack glumly.
"We understand, Applejack. What kind of friends would we be if we pressed the issue any further?" said Twilight.
"NOW WAIT JUST A MINUTE!" yelled Pinkie Pie which immediately got the attention of her friends. "I will not give up on a pony that could be having a good time and just let them sit by in a rut!". Following this, Pinkie Pie went into the Apple farmhouse and started pleading to Applejack's grandmother who was listening to their conversation through the window. She was listening to the whole thing. Pinkie's sixth sense nearly gave Granny Smith a heart attack.
"Please please please please pleeeeeez! Please let Applejack come to Canterlot with us! We'll only be gone one night! Don't let her be sad about missing out on some time with her friends!" begged Pinkie Pie.
The elderly green mare sat there scratching her chin with her left hoof, thinking avidly on her granddaughter's fate. Finally, her mind and emotions came to a consensus. "Well, I spose it would be okay for Applejack to go with yall on yer little trip. I could jus git Applebloom ta take care of Big Mac. But she better finish her chores before she goes! She also better finish her jobs when she gets back!"
Pinkie Pie was absolutely happy, and jumped for joy. "Thank you thank you thank you! Applejack, Twilight, did you hear that?! Granny Smith said that Applejack could go when she finished her chores! Happy endings!"
Applejack seemed inspired by the news. "Well in that case, I will finish these chores and come with you guys, because I wouldn't miss a gatherin with mah friends, even for a thousand bottles of zap-apple jam."
"You're an amazing friend Applejack, when you're done with your chores, come meet in the library before 5:00, because that is when we are all going to get escorted to Canterlot Castle for the royal dinner party." said Twilight.
Applejack said, "You bet ah will!" before heading back out into the orchard to do whatever chores she had left. It was already 1:00 in the afternoon, so time was wasting.
Pinkie Pie was now bouncing instead of trotting next to Twilight because of how happy she was that everything turned out okay; it was actually better than okay since they just had a great friendship moment.
Twilight had finally returned to the library and was happy knowing she was done with the letters. Pinkie insisted on making amazing desserts before the party like carrot cake and chocolate pound cake, but Twilight told her that they had to save their appetites for the party later tonight.
When Twilight walked through the door to her library, she smelled a delicious aroma wafting into the living room from the kitchen. She automatically realized that it was Spike cooking some kind of lunch. Twilight finally realized that she forgot to tell him that she was going to go for a dinner party tonight with her friends.
Twilight walked into the kitchen and was greeted by two meals on the kitchen table. Spike was too busy pouring drinks on the counter to notice Twilight enter, so she decided to sit down and let him know of her presence. The sound of the chair being pulled out made Spike drop the orange juice carton, which in turn knocked over the two glasses in a domino effect. Orange juice was leaking all over the counter and dripping onto the floor. "Oh my gosh Spike! I'm sorry! Let me help." said Twilight as she grabbed a washcloth from the cabinet and started soaking up the juice on the floor and counter.
"Jeez Twilight, did you have to sneak up on me like that?"
"I guess the smell of a perfectly cooked lunch distracted me." responded Twilight. Spike just blushed at that and beckoned her to sit down to eat.
"I'll finish cleaning up the mess. You just enjoy your lunch!" said Spike happily.
"Actually Spike, I think I should save my appetite for later tonight." said Twilight awkwardly.
"What's happening tonight," asked Spike, "is Pinkie Pie throwing another party?"
"Actually, the princess invited us over for a dinner party tonight to catch up on the latest events. She also invited Cadance and my brother over as well! I'm sorry that I forgot to tell you..." finished Twilight.
"Don't sweat it Twilight, I can just put the food in the fridge tonight and save it for some other time." said Spike.
"Would you like to come with us? I am sure the princesses wouldn't mind at all!" inquired Twilight.
"Would I? You bet I would! I am going to go pack some gems and my toothbrush."
Twilight giggled before responding, "I'm sure the princess hasn't forgotten you, I bet she made a whole gem cake just for you!"
"As much as I don't like to think that the princess forgot me, I won't take any chances!" said Spike as he ran upstairs.
Twilight threw in one last detail, "We're also spending the night there, so bring something to entertain yourself with!"
"Is it okay if I take your chessboard?! It's okay isn't it?!"
"Of course Spike! My library is your library! Just be done packing by 5:00!" said Twilight.
Spike finally came back downstairs already packed. "Jeez Twilight, I'm not packing up the whole library."
Twilight only giggled and sat on the couch to read up on her pony anatomy book early. It was only 2:00 and there was nothing else to do until much later. Twilight was flipping through the table of contents to find subjects of anatomy that piqued her interest the most. Her eyes caught the subject involving pony nether regions and such on page three of the table of contents which made her blush. She quickly turned the page and found the page numbers regarding the nervous systems. That was an interesting subject in her mind, so she decided to read on about it until 5:00 dawned upon her.
Spike had heard some knocks on the door downstairs. That had been the only noticeable sound throughout the whole library for the past two hours. Spike walked downstairs and opened the door to find Fluttershy standing there awkwardly rubbing one hoof with the other. "Hi Fluttershy, here for the party?"
"Hey Spike, you know it!" said Fluttershy cheerily.
Spike beckoned Fluttershy to come and take a seat on the couch next to Twilight who fell asleep with a book on her face. Spike just shook Twilight to wake her up. She rolled around a bit and woke up with her eyes fluttering. "Fluttershy is here, you better get up and entertain."
"Oh, uh, Spike! what time is it?" asked Twilight.
"It's 4:15" finished spike before he ran upstairs to do whatever it was he was doing. Twilight just got up to go into the kitchen and make some coffee for herself and her friends if they wanted any. Fluttershy followed her into the kitchen and sat down at the table.
"Glad you could come Fluttershy! Would you like some coffee?" asked Twilight
"Actually, I'm a pony who likes her tea, Do you have any, if you don't mind me asking?"
"I don't mind at all. What kind of tea do you like: green or black?" asked Twilight.
"Green is my favorite. Could you add some honey to my tea if it's not too much trouble?"
"Of course I can." answered Twilight while she grabbed the honey to use when the tea was done. Once it was finished cooking, she added the honey and set it in front of Fluttershy on the table for her. Twilight poured herself a cup of coffee, added creamer, and set it on the opposite side of the table for herself. Coffee does Twilight wonders when she has to study. As soon as Twilight pulled out her chair and sat down there was another knock on the door.
"I'll get it!" yelled Spike from upstairs. The sound of the door opening led to Rarity walking into the kitchen as well.
"Salutations darlings." said Rarity in a posh tone as she walked into the kitchen flaunting her beautiful dress. Neither Twilight nor Fluttershy paid it much heed besides looking at it since they were used to Rarity's need to look fabulous on special occasions.
"Seems you're all set to go." said Twilight. "I'm surprised that you don't have a mountain of bags to take with you."
Rarity smirked, "Oh I do, Spike offered to carry them in for me and place them neatly in the living room. But enough about me, what have you two been up to?"
Fluttershy was happy to announce that she just fed her animals. Nothing special especially for her, considering her house was like a zoo for local wildlife. Twilight only told Rarity that she had been reading a new book, which was definitely not a surprise either.
"What kind of book?" asked Rarity since there was nothing better to talk about.
"Pony Anatomy, it is my weakest subject and I figured that I would bring it along for a read in bed before I go to sleep." said Twilight upset knowing that she had a weak subject
"Hmmm, what part of pony anatomy were you reading about?" inquired Rarity
"The nervous system" said Twilight flatly.
Rarity only shook her head and said, "Twilight dear, you need to quit reading up on the dreary parts of that book and focus on the interesting part like.... nethers.". Rarity dragged on the last part with a low voice and half-lidded eyeballs. Twilight's eyes widened and her spine quivered from what Rarity just said, but before she could respond, there was another knock on the door. This knock was fast and repetitive, so it was obviously Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy looked relieved to end that discussion topic as quickly as possible. Spike ran down the stairs and opened the door to let Pinkie Pie in.
Pinkie Pie bounded into the kitchen and jumped into a chair, almost breaking it. "Hi Twi, Hi Rar, Hi Flutter!"
Rarity looked mad at hearing Pinkie Pie say her name like that, "Pinkie, don't ever call me Rar again."
"Okie Dokie Lokie!" said Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie, didn't you bring any luggage for our overnight stay?" asked Twilight.
"I sure did!" said Pinkie before opening a pink fanny pack around her waist and pulling out her party cannon. Again, it was another one of Pinkie Pie's mind-boggling antics. Twilight knew better than to question Pinkie Pie and her ability to break the laws of logic ever since she tried to investigate her Pinkie sense.
"Okay then, what should we do to pass the time while we wait for the others to come. It's already 4:33, so we better do something quick, but fun." proposed Rarity from her seat.
"Twenty questions!" yelled Pinkie Pie. That did not sound like a bad idea at all for Rarity or Twilight, and Fluttershy did not care what they played. Twilight liked its basis around knowledge and Rarity liked the thrill of guessing.
For the next fifteen minutes, the four friends played their game with Fluttershy always getting the animal questions right and Twilight always getting everything else right. Pinkie Pie made up the weirdest questions like, "Is it a jokester?" or "can you squeeze it into a microwave?". Fluttershy did not like the idea of squeezing animals into a microwave. At 4:52, Spike screamed upstairs which caused all the girls to jump and make them freaked out. Twilight ran upstairs and saw Spike cowering on her bed while Rainbow Dash stood at the foot of the bed with a scary mask on.
"Rainbow! Why did you sneak through my window and scare Spike?!" demanded Twilight. Rainbow only laughed at Spike's expense and waved a hoof at Twilight to make her calm down.
"Haha. hehehe... I'm sorry Twilight, I just wanted a little bit of personal fun before the dinner party tonight." said Rainbow.
"You didn't have to scare me," scoffed Spike unamused. "The girls were playing games down stairs anyway, so you could have had fun without using my sanity."
"Really, what game?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Twenty questions!" said Twilight. "You should come play with us before Applejack comes.
"pfffft. Yeah right, that game is for eggheads. I would have much rather scared Spike" said Rainbow.
"Well, I guess we should go outside, it's almost 5:00, and I don't want to be late for the royal chariot's arrival." said Twilight as she walked downstairs to go fetch the others.
"Is Spike okay?" asked Fluttershy.
"Yes, Rainbow Dash just thought it would be funny to jump through the window and scare him." said Twilight as Rainbow Dash walked into the kitchen nonchalantly.
"Shame on you Dash!" said Rarity, "You shouldn't mess with my little Spikey Wikey!". Spike swooned outside in the living room when he heard that.
"Come on girls! We had better go outside so we aren't late for the chariot." said Twilight to get everyone's attention.
"But what about Applejack?" asked Pinkie Pie sadly.
"I guess she couldn't make it." said Twilight sadly. "But hopefully she'll come in the knick of time just like in some drama books that I read." said Twilight recalling her moments of reading suspenseful romance novels and Daring Do books. Without anymore words, the five ponies and Spike left the Library and went into the dirt road to wait for the chariot. It wasn't long before they could all see it descending form Canterlot castle all the way down to Ponyville. It landed in the street and made all other ponies moving about look on in jealousy at the luxuries that the mane six were about to receive. The Pegasus pilots gave Twilight and the others a nod, who nodded in return, except for Pinkie Pie who shouted "Hiya!".
As the mane six and Spike were boarding their escort, Applejack came running down the dirt path toward the chariot just like Twilight thought might happen. Everpony, especially Pinkie Pie was elated to finally have everpony together.
"Sorry ahm late! I just barely finished up mah chores! Granny Smith is really piling them up lately!" said Applejack as she boarded the chariot and sat down. Rarity narrowed her eyes at Applejack's sweaty and dirty form.
"You better take a shower when we get to Canterlot, I don't want your dirty form to ruin my appetite." said Rarity.
"Jee-whiz Rarity, thanks for tha heartwarmin' welcome." said Applejack Sarcastically.
For the full duration of the trip to Canterlot, which wasn't long, the mane six and Spike were just looking over the edges of the chariot observing the ground below and admiring the cool night air. Twilight noticed that the sun was slowly lowering, meaning that Celestia was almost ready for the party. When the Mane Six arrived on the balcony of the throne room overlooking Equestria, they all disembarked and walked into the long throne room and were greeted by both of the princesses sitting on their respective thrones.
The mane six were once again greeted by the many stained glass windows lining the large hall, but Twilight only paid attention to one in particular: Discord's defeat, both one and two. Twilight immediately remembered that he was around the castle somewhere and feared for her safety and dignity. Since she did not want her friends to notice her concern, she switched back to happy mode and was ready to greet the princesses.
"Hello princess!" said the mane six in unison, well, all except Pinkie who yelled, "Hiya big cheese!" at the end.
"Greetings my little ponies, were still waiting for Cadance and Shining Armor to arrive, so why don't you all go to your rooms and get settled in before the dinner. We can all talk then.". Celestia beckoned two of her guards to come and guide the mane six to their room.
"Thanks for everything Celestia!" yelled Twilight before she left the throne room. the door creaked and then shut, leaving a booming echo throughout the throne room. Luna looked a little upset.
"I can't believe they forgot about us!" exclaimed Luna when the mane six left.
"Well, you were just sitting there watching, it's not like you got up and greeted them like me."
"Whatever, I'm going to go play some games. Call me down when the food is ready."
"Okay.....Lulu". Luna only stared daggers at her older sister for that and left to go play some games.
A big puff of purple, green, and pink smoke left as soon as it appeared only leaving the god of disorder and a smell of smoke behind. Chaos observed his surroundings, which appeared to be a large garden with a hedge maze not far from it. There was also a castle not far from the garden as well. The sky was a dim orange color, signaling that it was sunset. It was so peaceful and calm..... and boring for Chaos, so he jumped down off of a statue that he was resting on. Chaos made the statues come alive and run about the hedge maze which eventually broke out and ran into the city that Chaos presumed was Canterlot.
"This is just as bad as I thought!" observed Chaos. "The only kind of excitement going on is the statues I just animated, and even that isn't enough to drown out the monotony that is Canterlot!" Chaos heard some screams coming from town, and was only happy enough to yell, "You're welcome!" before teleporting away in his colorful smoke.
Chaos reappeared in a series of corridors with many large doors lining the walls. There were many intersections throughout the hallways, which led to even more hallways, which led to other rooms and so on not in that particular order. It was so large and was obviously the pinnacle of pony architecture. "No particular order here, sounds like my cup of tea." said Chaos as he turned invisible and floated throughout the hallways to observe. He was thinking of a way to make this overly-peaceful castle more interesting.
"Lets seeee, what can I do to make these things more interesting?". Chaos eventually found and observed five royal guards wearing their royal guard uniforms. But these guards were interesting because they wore black armor and had bat wings like some kind of demon. Chaos had dealt with demons before. They weren't very smart and were usually incredibly easy to trick and manipulate. It wasn't very interesting, but perhaps these bat ponies will be more of a challenge.
Chaos sent his magic to the ponies' faces and put colorful clown makeup all over them, he then spawned a portal above them that splashed some water down over their faces and smeared the makeup to make them look all colorful and crazy. The guard ponies jumped up and quickly whipped out their spears and looked up to see the portal, which dropped colorful fish out, smacking each of them directly in the face, which smeared the makeup around even more.
"Hey Nightkin, what's wrong with your face?!" yelled one of the ponies. "It's all colorful.....and ugly!"
"So is your face! What's going on?!" yelled the other bat pony. The other ponies were all wiping their faces and getting whirls of makeup all over their hooves. They started to panic, and one of the ponies yelled for help. Chaos spawned living shoes behind them which started to kick them in the flanks and send them running down the hall. The one pony that screamed alerted other bat ponies which started to chase down the shoes and stop them from kicking their brethren. What resulted was a chain of ponies and shoes that started running through the castle creating a ruckus.
Chaos started laughing outside of the room that those five guards were guarding and wiped a tear from his eye with his paw. "Now that was funny! Certainly much better than what might have happened if I did not visit this castle!". Chaos turned his attention towards the door that the guards were guarding and wondered what could have possibly been going on in there that there were guards. Perhaps some noble who can't protect himself? Chaos had his interest piqued and phased through the door to find a dark blue pony with a starry mane sitting on a black bed playing some kind of a video game. Now that was bizarre considering that this world was filled with technology that was before that.
Chaos observed that this pony was one of the princesses that ruled over these lands and here she was playing video games. That was certainly irresponsible. Chaos likes irresponsibility since it leads to disorder. The princess was wearing a headset that had 8-bit music blasting incredibly loudly into her ears, which explained why she didn't hear all the noise outside of her bedroom. Chaos noticed that she was playing Super Mario Bros on nes, which was incapable of partnering up with a headset. Perhaps it was just magic? Yup that seems like the most logical conclusion. Chaos noticed that she was fighting against Bowser and was trying to find a way to run around him to get the axe.
"What brilliant thing can I do to give her some chaos?" wondered Chaos as she scratched his chin and stroked his goatee. "Oh yeah, I could just unplug her controller.". Chaos unplugged her controller and saw her frustration and confusion at why Mario didn't move. She was smacking the controller against her bed in a futile attempt to solve the problem. She then started to panic and threw her headphones off in panic. Bowser used this opportunity to shoot a fireball right at Mario, killing him instantly.
"Noooooo! we were so close! Why did thee stupid thing have to glitch out?! Do you enjoy watching us suffer?! Was the 100 years of our life playing you not enough!!! " yelled Luna in desperation as she chucked the game system out of her window and heard it crash onto the concrete below.
Chaos spawned a bell and rang it to get Luna's attention who turned around immediately only to see a pie floating in front of her face. The pie flew at her face and exploded on impact. Chaos spawned sprinkles from above her and dumped them on her and added a cherry for good measure. Chaos then flew back through the door to listen to her response.
"DISCORD!!!!!!!" screamed Luna in her royal Canterlot voice.
"Come and get me moon face!!! HAHAHAHA!" Chaos yelled back to Luna before turning invisible. Chaos watched her knock her bedroom door down and bolt down the hallway to find Discord. Chaos spawned a banana in front of her which made her slip and slam the back of her head against the red velvet carpet. "Tee-hee! Game over for you, just like Mario!" taunted Chaos in Discord's voice again which made Luna rage and start running around to look for Discord.
"Hmmm, Discord must be that spirit of chaos that is being lazy. Well he'll get what he deserves soon: a hoof to the face.".
The mane six were lounging in their temporary room for the dinner party. It was quite exquisite due to its large window giving a view of the far ends of Equestria, six king sized beds all sitting parallel to each other, several huge shelves lined with books, a wonderful red velvet carpet running through to the window from the door, and a deluxe bathroom with everything made of marble. The guards told them that this room was a present from Princess Celestia to them, and that they could use it anytime that they wanted when they were at the castle. It reminded Twilight a lot about her old room when she was Celestia's protégé; boy she sure did come a long way since then!
The dinner party was starting very soon, 7:00 to be exact, so the mane six did not have very much time left to get ready since it was 6:51. "Oh my gosh I am sooooo hungry! I hardly ate anything today because Fluttershy insisted that I help her train her wings." complained Rainbow.
"But ummm... I asked if that was okay with you, and you said okay."
"Yes Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy asks everyone if something is okay, you should know her by now. But enough talk because I am absolutely famished!" commented Rarity. And on perfect timing, a guard came into the room and announced that the princesses were ready to start the gathering.
Well girls, lets get going! We don't want to keep the princesses waiting." said Twilight.
"Finally!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
"Don't be so rude darling." retorted Rarity with a swish of her well kept mane. Spike snapped to reality at Rarity's voice and jumped onto Twilight's back.
The mane six piled out of their bedroom to be greeted by the chills of large corridor outside. They all walked side by side, which only occupied about half the width of the corridor. There was not much for them to talk about besides the party. There were many different things about the party that they talked about like Princess Cadance being able to spend some time with Twilight, Celestia having delightful conversations with each and every one of them, what kinds of exquisite foods would be on display, and what game Luna is currently striving to beat. But there was one subject that each pony agreed that they despised the most: Discord. Twilight really did not want Discord to interfere with her precious time with Cadance again, so she decided to talk to her friends about the issue.
"Hey girls, do you think that Discord is going to try and crash the party? By crash, I literally mean CRASH."
Rainbow cringed at his name. "He had better not or I'll kick his mashed up butt all the way out of Equestria! I don't care how powerful he is!"
"Darn tootin' Dash! I'll help you wrangle and strangle him!" added Applejack.
"I say we turn him back to stone, then throw him out of Equestria!" added Rarity
"I'll throw him a farewell party!" added Pinkie Pie
"Don't be so mean! He is a changed draconequus! Why must you all judge my reforming skills?" snapped Fluttershy at a low tone.
"It's not you dear, it's just him and his uncouth chaos." replied rarity. As soon as she said "chaos", five of Luna's guards came barreling down the hallway. All of them were running from three pairs of shoes that were kicking at thin air, about an inch from hitting their targets. Twilight tried to grab the shoes with her alicorn magic, but they were protected by some sort of strange, chaotic magic. Before the guards hit the mane six, they took flight and flew out of a nearby window, desperate to get away from the anomalies. The shoes of course followed.
"What in tarnation was that! That looked like somethin' that Discord would do! yelled Applejack in a panic.
"It was Discord! When I tried to stop those shoes with my magic, they were protected by some sort of Chaotic magic. It didn't feel like Discord's magic though..." said Twilight.
"There's only one thing with Chaos magic, and that thing is Discord!" yelled Rainbow Dash. "Come on guys, lets go tell Celestia that Dipcords up to no good again!".
"Let's not jump to conclusions....." began Twilight before her friends were already down the hall. So she decided to just go with the flow and see how things turned out in the end.
"DISCORD! THOU GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW AND FIGHT LIKE A DRACONEQUUS!!!" roared Luna ferociously outside of Discord's bedroom. Luna was slamming her hooves against the door furiously, trying to get his attention.
Discord popped his head out through the keyhole to his room and had both a stoic and a disturbed expression upon his muzzle. "Why Luna, what appears to have gotten your mane in a tangle?"
"THOU KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT, LORD BUZZKILL!" screamed Luna.
Discord looked taken aback by the phrase "buzz kill" before replying with, "I'll have you know that I produce the buzz, not kill it Madame!!! What did I do anyway hmmmm?"
Luna seemed more calmed down now, "Well, we were playing our video games, when all of a sudden, SOMETHING ruined our game for us and then turned us into a....PIE!!!" finished Luna. "We also clearly heard you taunting me in the hallway, so I rushed out to chase you down only to slip on a banana and nearly get a concussion!!!
Discord seemed quite startled by this and opened his door and pulled Luna inside and sat her down on a rocking chair. Luna was greeted to the sight of flying books, trippy illusions, and other unexplainable phenomenon. This was of course Discords room, and things are bound to go absolutely awry. "Listen, it wasn't me! So when I let you out of this room, you must tell Celestia that you have no proof that it was Discord doing any of this."
"And how do we know that you're telling the truth?"
Discord was prepared for this, so he snapped his fingers and spawned blue cheesecake, Luna's absolute favorite food. the cheesecake shined with an ethereal glow, and sat upon a crust that was as yellow as the stars above. Discord pulled a fork out of thin air and took a very small piece of the cake off and handed it to Luna. She of course took a bite and her body started to shiver in pure ecstasy from the wonderful taste that was, blue cheesecake. She was about to snatch the cake out of Discord's paw, but he pulled it away and threw it over his shoulder where it exploded like a grenade.
"Give us more, MOAR!!!" yelled Luna, starting to get agitated again.
"I will Luna, I will! You just have to promise that you will never spread the lies that I caused some Chaos around the castle. Do we have a deal?" finished Discord as he lifted his eagle talon to shake talon to hoof and seal the deal. Luna did not hesitate as she shot her hoof out and made the deal with Discord. "Good! Now take this and go!" said Discord as he spawned another slice of the cake and gave it to Luna to go.
Chaos watched the little exchange from the window to Discord's bedroom. It amused him greatly and he was also pleased to see some Chaos in the room such as the flying books. "Hmmm, maybe he is not as boring as I once thought! but that doesn't change the fact that he is lazy with his power." commented Chaos as he flew to another part of the castle: the rooftops. Chaos landed on a balcony of a tower and calmed himself down. he looked up and contemplated the stars and the constellations. His moment of tranquility was interrupted by those bat ponies flying by with shoes trying to kick them. Chaos DE spawned the shoes and let the bat ponies fly away. They continued flying away since they were only concerned about getting away from those shoes.
"I don't know why they didn't just fight the shoes. They are guards after all." noticed Chaos as he resumed his stargazing. before he was sucked into the moment again, his eyes caught the sight of smoke rising from the town of Canterlot below. "Jeez, all I did was bring those statues to life, and there the ponies go overacting and blowing things up! That just goes to show how lacking in chaotic fun these ponies are." Chaos looked at the stars again and tried to think of some new ways to make the castle interior more lively. His train of thought was once again interrupted when that blue pony walked out through the door to the tower to eat her blue cheesecake. She was about to slam that cake, until she saw Chaos laying on the balcony.
Luna's eyes went wide in surprise to seeing a cat so high up, but they also went wide because of her adoration of felines. She loved the way his fur was blue and his yellow eyes complemented the bright stars above, she also had two of her favorite things together! She slammed the cake like a python would slam a rat so she could start cuddling the cute little visitor. She scooped him up with her hooves and started cradling him, and he was just smiling away with that creepy smile. Luna noticed that he had a goatee, which was highly unusual for a small cat to have. But the weirdness truly began when the cat started to talk...
"Whoa there kitten, not on the first date!" said the blue cat. Luna's brain took a moment to register who had said that, but she finally came to the conclusion that the cat was talking when she saw him move his lips with words coming out. "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue? Hehehe!"
Luna threw the cat over the balcony and saw him fly back up with his deep purple wings. He landed back on the balcony, creepy expression ever present, and waited for Luna to respond with something. "You can talk! I mean umm...*clears throat*. Thou can speak?"
"Well duuuuuh, I'm no ordinary cat, I am a special deity! I grant a special wish in return for a favor. Since you found me sitting here admiring your stars, that means that you are the lucky one to receive a wish for a favor!" said Chaos.
"How does thou know that the stars are ours, and what exactly are thou the god of?" asked Luna curiously.
"Well, I guess you could say that I have a talent for reading a person's, or in this case pony's, mind." Chaos lied about the next part because he did not want to reveal himself too soon, "I am the god of dreams, since I can make anything's wish come true! For a price that is." said Chaos. "What would your wish be hmmmm?"
Luna took a moment to think of what she wanted to ask the strange god for, and she finally came to the conclusion that she wanted a special somepony who would love her forever. She wanted him to be immortal like her so he would never leave her side. Luna knew that was her wish, so she told the cat. "We would like a special somepony who will be immortal and love us forever."
"What's a special somepony?" asked Chaos.
"That's the pony that you will spend the rest of your life with and love forever. Since we am immortal, I would like him to be immortal too so we will never lose him." responded Luna.
"Oh! So you want a life partner eh? Well, I can most certainly grant you this. Question is, what are you willing to do in return?" asked Chaos.
"We would do anything for him! Just tell us what we need to do and we will do it!" said Luna confidently.
Chaos was happy to get started with his next plan. "That's excellent my little kitten! What I want you to do is fairly simple. I want you to go tell as many ponies as you can that this Discord fellow is up to no good, and you will be greatly rewarded!"
Luna liked how easy this task sounded, but one thing was off. "What if Discord isn't causing any trouble, and everyone starts to hate us again because we lied?"
"You just leave that to me! All I need you to do is go around and gossip, so easy right!" said Chaos.
Luna was curious to what the strange cat god would do, but decided not to waste time, for her special somepony was within her grasp! If she did this, then of course Discord would stop giving her blue cheesecake, but if she was to ever get a special somepony, then she would need to stop trying to get fat off of the stuff. "I'll do it!" exclaimed Luna.
"Excellent! Just remember the deal, and all of your wishes shall come true!" said Chaos. "Now go." Luna turned around and descended the stairs to the tower. Chaos laughed in success once the pony was out of sight.
"Excellent, now that spirit of chaos will truly get what's coming to him..."
Princess Cadance and her husband, Shining armor, disembarked into the throne room from the royal balcony. There, princess Celestia was waiting for them. "Salutations my little ponies, I hope your travel here was pleasant."
"Pleasant and peaceful as usual!" said Cadance. Celestia and Princess Cadance bowed to each other respectively.
"Shining Armor, I am sure that you would like to see your younger sister. The dinner gathering is starting right now down in the royal banquet hall. Why don't you two go down there and I will catch up shortly.
"Thank you very much Celestia." said Shining Armor with a bow. "I hope we can talk more at the dinner gathering."
"I would like that very much." responded Celestia.
"See you soon!" shouted Cadance as she and Shining armor walked out together.
Cadance and Shining Armor were walking casually down the corridors side by side enjoying each other's company. "This will be the first time in a long time that I can spend time with Twilight Sparkle again! I'm sure you two would love to catch up as well."
"Of course I would, I haven't seen my little sis' ever since the King Sombra incident, it would be nice to have a nice relaxing get together."
The couple soon started to notice strange things happening around the castle soon before they arrived at the royal banquet hall such as random ponies freaking out yelling "he's back to his no good self!", and strange physical anomalies such as rippling walls, and an alicorn that looked like Princess Celestia with purple hair, mane, and eyes chasing a palace servant around the corner. The couple paid the oddness no heed since all they wanted to do was relax and enjoy time with friends.
Once the couple arrived at the entrance to the banquet hall the both looked into each other's eyes and nodded to one another as if saying, 'ready'. They then opened the large doors and walked inside to find the mane six freaking out frantically. Applejack recognized the couple and trotted towards them. "Princess Cadance an' Shinin' Armor, have ya seen Celestia? we need to talk to her!"
Twilight Sparkle galloped towards her brother and wrapped him in a huge hug. "I haven't seen you in so long brother! It's so nice to see you again!"
"Likewise little sis'!" said Shining Armor as he grabbed his sister and gave her a noogie. "I bet you and Cadance need to catch up huh?"
"You bet!" said Twilight. "I hope we can catch up too; I haven't seen you since King Sombra came back."
"We can catch up once we get the gathering started. What was your friend here talking about?"
Twilight would have done her special greeting with Princess Cadance, but there was a state of unrest that needed to be addressed as quickly as possible before it got out of hand. "We think that Discord might be back to no good, so we need Princess Celestia to investigate this. That Chaos magic did not fell that same as Discord's though."
Princess Cadance spoke up, "Well, so much for having another uninterrupted meeting with my niece..."
"Uh! I knew Discord would do something to ruin our dinner party! I should have warned Celestia about my suspicions! who else could be causing chaos?" yelled Twilight frustrated.
"Celestia is up in her throne room, she will be down shortly, so don't go looking for her, it will only make things more problematic." said Cadance.
Wait till I get my hooves on that dracone-" started Rainbow before Princess Luna walked into the room.
Princess Cadance and Shining Armor bowed to the night princess, and she in return. "No time for prolonged greetings." said Luna. We have reason to believe that Discord is causing a state of unrest in the palace. That explains all of the strange phenomenon that has being going on. We believe that Discord has reverted to his old, evil self."
Celestia walked into the banquet hall and observed all of her little ponies, including her sister in a state of unrest. "What's wrong my little ponies?" asked Celestia in a motherly tone.
Luna was the one to speak, "We all have a reason to believe that Discord is up to no good once again, and has reverted to his old self.".
"That sentence made Celestia become quite serious. She let out a high pitched whistle, and two pegasus guards came dashing into the banquet hall.
"Yes Celestia, what are your orders?" said the guards in unison.
"Go to the Golden Oaks Library in Ponyville and retrieve the Elements of Harmony." said Celestia stoically.
"Yes Princess!" yelled the guards in unison once again before leaving as quickly as possible.
"If Discord is up to his old tricks once again, then he must be stopped! stated Celestia.
Discord sat in his rocking chair, making more blue cheesecake to give to Luna for her loyalty. He made sure that they tasted extra special by adding a few extra ingredients from far away lands. It wasn't long before he detected a rather large amount of Chaos emitting from various areas around the castle. This intrigued him, because it had a strange chaotic presence to it. Discord decided to investigate, and left his rocking chair. Discord started to fly around and phased through the walls of the castle to get to the chaos faster. He started noticing all kinds of beautiful chaos such as giant ponies running around, strange creatures breaking through the walls, and random hot sauce pies flying at anypony unlucky enough to get in the way.
While it was all amazing, it was also bad for him since it really contradicted his claim of innocence. He doubted that even Luna's word could stop other ponies from believing that he was not guilty. Discord had to do something, but there was not much he could do. He started to ponder on possible solutions to this pickle. It was then that there was a bright explosion of purple, green, and pink smoke that spawned a blue cat with wings. Discord did not know who this strange being was, but he could detect the chaos venting off of it.
"Greetings Discord, a pleasure to meet another chaotic being."
"How do you know my name strange creature?" asked Discord.
"I get around, but enough about me, we need to talk about your lack of chaotic faith."
"I have plenty of chaotic faith CAT! I can cause chaos anywhere, anytime I want!" said Discord angry about being called peaceful.
"I'm sure you could Discord, but why don't you?" inquired Chaos.
"Well, uh, I am being watched, so if I cause any chaos, I'll just be punished for it." said Discord.
"Discord, my good man, you are more powerful than anything alive in Equestria or elsewhere besides another chaotic creature! You don't have to listen to those snobbish ponies, just overpower them and create chaos. Just don't create too much chaos because there needs to be a balance after all. The only chaos that I have seen you spread is in your own bedroom."
"Perhaps, but who are you to be telling me what and what not to do?" asked Discord.
"Well, I am Chaos, the god of disorder! Wherever I see too much order or peace, I always swoop in to fix it up. I hop across dimensions, planets, and galaxies to help out with the chaos wherever it needs helping. I guess you could call me a chaotic guardian."
"That's a terrible lie! Why can't I hop across dimensions?! I thought I was a powerful creature of chaos!"
"You are Discord! you are just a spirit of chaos and I am a god! I'm the only god of chaos that I know, but I pretty much am chaos, hence my name." said Chaos proudly. "Go ahead and show me just how powerful you are, and I just might spare you your title."
I'll show you! You little blue cat!" said Discord as Chaos turned invisible. Discord snapped his fingers together just as soon as the mane six including Spike, princess Luna, Princess Celestia, Princess Cadance, and Shining Armor turned the corner to their corridor. They all witnessed Discord use his magic to pick up the castle and start slowly rotating it in the air, causing everything to go crazy.
"Discord! What do you think you're doing?!" boomed Celestia. Discord turned around to see all of the ponies that impacted his life, but nowhere could he see that blasted little cat god. Then he realized that he had just gotten tricked. The master trickster just got tricked! Celestia was holding all of the ponies gyroscopically in place with her magic.
"Ummmm, this isn't what it looks like! I can explain!" said Discord frantically.
"Save it Dipcord! We all saw what you did!" said Rainbow Dash.
Celestia decided to speak to Discord, "I'm sorry that we have to do this Discord, but you leave us no choice. We'll set you free once we believe that you learned your lesson."
"You're not saying what I think you're saying right?! Can't we just talk this over?"
"No" said Celestia as she outfitted the mane six with their elements and prepared them for the next part. The mane six all glowed with a white light. then the elements started blinking out their colors. Symbols of the elements started shooting out and flying past Discord's head. The mane six's eyes all turned white, and a small sonic rainboom signaled the inevitable. The rainbow shot out and arched towards Discord in the huge corridor and slammed right into his body causing him to squirm around. Discord could have fled before they tried to seal him, but he wanted to keep his dignity. His feet turned to stone, then his tail, then his whole serpentine body, up to his neck. "It was the blue caaaaaaaaaaat!!!" yelled Discord before the stone overtook his head.
This time he looked more presentable in stone, much like a gargoyle that would be used to decorate an evil castle. A scared, evil gargoyle that is. When Discord was sealed, all of the chaos disappeared. Luna was shocked at Discord's last words. It couldn't have been the cat that she met earlier could it? Where else has she seen a blue cat.......oh yeah, nowhere!
"Guards, gather your strongest unicorn companions and use them to take Discord back to the castle gardens." ordered Celestia. All of the ponies walked back to the banquet hall to finally begin their dinner party.
"Celestia," said Luna, "May we take a minute to go somewhere else for a moment? we'll meet you all in the banquet hall later."
"Of course my dear sister, please don't take too long though, it wouldn't be the same without you." said Celestia
"Thank you sister." said Luna before going her own way.
Luna travelled back up the same tower where she met that strange god cat. She was not surprised to seem him laying upon the balcony again, gazing up at the stars. "Ummmm, mister cat, we did what you asked us to do. Now Discord is trapped in stone, so we figured that we would come and receive our wish.
Chaos looked towards her, "Oh yes, I am quite pleased by your success, so I simply must give you what your heart desired. Chaos summoned up his powerful magic and spawned a male alicorn out of this air with his purple, green, and pink smoke. This alicorn male had the same hair color as Luna, and he had the same teal eyes as her. He also had the same dark blue skin color as well as that ethereal glow coming off of her hair. The only thing that wasn't the same was his cutie mark. It was a galaxy instead of a moon with stars.
"Uh, where are we?" asked the alicorn in that same plural speech as Luna. It took him a moment to take in his surroundings before he saw princess Luna. He was taken aback at how similar they looked, and decided to bombard her with questions. "Who art thou fair maiden? Where are we? Why do we resemble thee?
Luna blushed at how he called her a fair maiden and took his hoof into her own before leaving down the stairs. Chaos just watched the whole gushy moment with pursed lips and wide eyes. Luna paid Chaos no heed as she left with her special somepony. "I hope she enjoys my present!" said Chaos aloud as he vanished once again in his purple, green, and pink smoke.
All of the ponies besides Luna were in the banquet hall getting settled in. Celestia sat at the end of the table in a very fine, luxurious chair. Rainbow Dash sat across from Fluttershy, Twilight across from Rarity, and Pinkie Pie across from Applejack. Spike sat in his own little chair besides Twilight sadly chewing on a red gem, ignoring the large gem cake sitting mere inches away. Princess Cadance sat on the other side of Twilight so they could do some more catching up as they ate. Shining armor sat beside Rarity.
The banquet hall was very quiet as all of the ponies mourned for Discord. They were just starting to grow closer to him too, but after his recent actions, they all disliked him again. Pinkie decided to try and cheer up the others, so she put on a smile and prepared to speak. "Come on guys, Discord just needs some time to discover himself. Besides, you all have to admit that the chaos was a tinsy bit fun!
Fluttershy spoke up, even though she seemed to be the saddest one of all. "Well, it was a little fun.... It sure did liven things up a bit."
Cadance seemed to agree. "Yes, I needed a little more excitement in my life since the Crystal Empire can be a little predictable sometimes. You know what I mean Twilight."
"Yes, I suppose so." said Twilight.
"And think about it, now that we have a peaceful get together going, then we should spend it catching up with eachother, not feeling depressed. " said Cadance.
"Yeah, maybe we could get together with Discord when he's free and make him feel special too!" shouted Pinkie Pie.
"Hey brother. maybe you can tell me how Cadance has been treating you at the Crystal Empire." said Twilight.
"Well, she's been pretty intere-" started Shining Armor before Luna and her new special somepony walked into the banquet hall. Everypony stared in awe at the male Luna clone. Rainbow Dash stared slack jawed at the strange alicorn. pinkie, however, just stared with a big beaming smile on her face. Rarity fluffed her hair at the handsome newcomer. Applejack had wide eyes and her mouth was shaped like an o. Fluttershy was nervous about the whole thing. Twilight was absolutely amazed by how similar they looked.
Celestia bore a frown and had wide eyes as she did not know what to make of this strange situation. Seeing another alicorn that nopony ever heard about was strangely new to her and cadence as well. Shining armor shuffled nervously in his seat because he knew that something evil may be afoot. Both of the night ponies sat down on the same side of the table to the right of Princess Celestia beside Fluttershy, which almost made Fluttershy faint from the attention sponge that sat next to her. All ponies except for Fluttershy and the alicorns in unison said, "WHAT IN EQUESTRIA!!!"
Chaos sat atop Discord's statue within the palace gardens, talking to him. Discord could hear every word, and it was worse than being all alone in the castle gardens.
"I hope you learn a lesson from all of this. You go from being too chaotic to barely chaotic at all! I doubt that you'll be staying in here for long, so when you finally get out, I want you to keep the balance of chaos and order very straight. You can prank, reality warp, make these ponies fight eachother! I really don't care! Just don't do the same thing twice, because being predictable is being boring. Now, I have to go balance out the chaotic scales in Canterlot castle again..." said Chaos.
With that, Chaos hovered without using his wings and flew all the way to the Canterlot throne room to look for something too do. When he did not find anything in there, he strolled out into the hallway and went around until he heard voices emitting from one of the rooms. This room had doors that were quite large and had label next to them that said: Royal Banquet Hall. Oooh! I think I'll treat myself to some chaos in this banquet hall! Chaos turned invisible and phased through the doors to be greeted by not only a bunch of little ponies, but the pony leader as well! Chaos flew up to the chandelier hanging above and hung upside down from one of the candle arms. He turned visible again and listened to what the ponies had to say before making his grand entrance.
"So just how did you meet this special somepony of yours Luna?" asked princess Cadance.
Luna looked nervous as she twiddled her hooves, trying to come up with a logical answer. Well, there we was gazing up at the sky raising our moon once our sister's sun was gone, and then we saw the most handsome alicorn stallion flying down from one of the stars to greet us on the balcony. It was love at first sight of course. She gently nudged her special somepony to get his attention, where he started to frantically shake his head up and down to confirm the story.
Applejack was not buying it at all. Being the element of Honesty gave her the ability to see right through ponies' lies. "Ah don't believe that story fer a second! Ya'll should tell tha truth."
"I agree with Applejack," said Celestia, "You can tell us the truth, we won't judge you at all for it."
"YEAH!" yelled the mane six in unison.
Luna looked shocked out how easy she could be read. "Well, uh, the truth is....we were out on the balcony of a tower when a strange being that looked like a cat started to talk to us. He told us that thou was a deity that would grant somepony's wish in return for a favor. And we wished to find our special somepony who would live forever along side us.
"WOW! What did he ask for in return? A cool hat?" wondered Pinkie.
"Well, um, thou wanted us to......." started Luna but she was interrupted when Pinkie suddenly turned into a balloon and floated up into the ceiling high up. Everypony's eyes followed the balloon and gasped when they saw that blue cat hanging upside down from the chandelier. Chaos floated down and landed in the center of the table.
"Well greetings, everypony! said the god cat to all of the ponies present. There were guards lining the walls around the table of table in the banquet hall, but none dared to make a move toward the strange being without Celestia's orders.
"What have you done to Pinkie Pie!?" demanded the princess of the sun.
"I turned her into a balloon. I bet you weren't expecting that huh?" replied Chaos.
"Turn my friend back now or I'll buck you in the face!" threatened Rainbow Dash.
Chaos did not like the way she threatened him, after all, he was only doing his job. "Now now, I have good intentions" said Chaos.
"What about introductions?" said Celestia.
"Oh I almost forgot, I got so sucked up into the mood! I am Chaos, the god of disorder! I am also a miracle worker since I was able to help that blue pony a stallionfriend, or whatever you call it." said Chaos. Everypony gasped at his name and profession and Rarity said, "Oh not another one" while facehoofing.
"She was just telling us about that, so what ever did you want in return?" wondered Celestia.
"Well, I only asked that she spread a gossip that it was Discord causing the chaos around the castle and not me. And ever since Discord got punished, I have been quite content knowing that justice has been done." Everypony started to get mad at Chaos and had angry faces and furrowed brows.
"But why would a creature of chaos want to punish another creature of chaos?" inquired Celestia.
"Because he did not appreciate the balance. He went from completely chaotic to hardly chaotic at all. I wanted to teach him a lesson about his job. One might say I did a good job!" said Chaos.
"Then justice has not been done! Chaos, I order you to stand down and surrender to my guards." demanded Celestia.
Chaos cringed when he was ordered to do something, since he was the complete opposite of order. His hair raised and he looked stiff and angry. His eyes were glowing a pure white. "ORDER? TO ME? Nothing tells me what to do!!!" roared Chaos as he used his magic to grasp Celestia's mouth, transforming it into a zipper, where he zipped it up and locked it shut. The guards took this as a sign to leap and restrain Chaos. Chaos anticipated this and used his magic to grab the guards and combined them into a large ball. He bowled the ball out the door where it started crashing into random things wherever it decided to roll. The guards were screaming all the way.
Twilight had none of it and decided to challenge Chaos with her own magic. She shot magical bolts at him, all of which disappeared into some kind of portal that he summoned. Chaos spawned another portal above shining armor which shot the bolts at him, but the bolts turned into wedding cakes just before they hit causing a massive mess of frosting and cake. Chaos did not want to hurt anyone, it was apart of his personal code of chaos. Chaos grabbed Twilight and took her horn away before releasing her.
"My horn!" yelled a horrified Twilight. She remembered when Discord took her horn, but that was for his own little game, this time her friends were in danger and there was not much that she could do about it. This time Princess Cadance stood up to combat Chaos. He took her and shrunk her down to the size of a mouse, where she was lost among the random food dishes. Rainbow Dash shot up but was stripped of her wings, so she crashed into the gelatin on the table. Spike just watched in shock and awe at how Chaos just defeated some of the toughest ponies he's ever met, and decided that it was best to stay out of it.
Before Chaos could do anything else, he undid all of his magic and everything turned back to normal. Cadance returned to full size, Twilight and Rainbow got their appendages back, Celestia's mouth lost its zipper and Chaos was even nice enough to reform the gelatin. Pinkie Pie turned back into a pony and landed o Spike's huge gem cake. "MY CAKE!" he yelled. The cake on Shining Armor stayed, and he was still a lump of dessert. All of the ponies except for Shining Armor stared in disbelief and confusion at why Chaos ended the, well, chaos. Chaos relished in their confusion.
"Hah! I bet you didn't predict that was going to happen! Did I just blow your minds or what!" celebrated Chaos.
Princess Celestia seemed incredibly relieved and took a mental note on why not to order him about. "But why cause all of that Chaos but get rid of it like you did?"
"Silly pony, I simply balanced the scales of order and chaos! If I just left the chaos the way it was, the scales would tip more towards the chaotic side, and that is not something I like to do. My brother, Order would go absolutely bonkers! Order gets mad at the smallest inefficiencies like if his books aren't 100% organized, or if his peas get mixed in with his mashed potatoes. So dumb if you ask me."
"So you strive to keep things harmonious, but lively?" asked Celestia.
"You know it sunbutt!" joked Chaos. "I think you all have learned a pretty important lesson huh?"
Princess Celestia brushed off the sunbutt comment. "What would that lesson be Chaos?"
"That if order overrides chaos, or chaos overrides order, then things start to get bad, and that is why you should have more faith in Discord. He is like the creamer in your coffee, for without it, things taste pretty bitter and gross. So when you release Discord, don't let him overpower Equestria with Chaos, and don't order him about so much."
All of the ponies except Shining Armor started to look regretful for being so hard on Discord for the small things. They realized that life would be boring without a little chaos here and there, so they all decided to go free Discord right now. They owed him a huge apology.
The mane six including Spike, Luna and her special somepony, Celestia, a cake covered shining Armor and Cadance all gathered around Discord's statue in the castle garden. The mane six all donned their elements and started them up. The elements picked them up and all mixed their magic to create the mini sonic rainboom, which created the rainbow, which started to free Discord. Discord's serpentine body slowly started to crack to freedom, making him fall to the floor. Discord got up and bent his back in an arch shape. "Ohhhhhh that's the spot!" yelled Discord as he started to straighten out again. "I haven't been turned to stone in so long, and I hope to never get stoned again!
Chaos started to laugh at that last part. Well I hope you learned your lesson."
"And what would that be?" wondered Discord, though he already knew what it was.
"That you should keep the balance as even as possible. These here ponies learned a pretty valuable lesson too, right sunbutt?" said Chaos.
"Discord laughed at that last part while Celestia rolled her eyes. "Discord, we all learned that we've been too hard on you. We've also learned that we need you to keep our lives lively, because without you, everything would be truly boring and repetitive."
Cadance decided to comment, "And I really need some of that, because all of my duties at the crystal empire become monotonous."
"We would all like to say that were sorry for always being so hard on you Discord." said Celestia.
"Yeah!!!" yelled all of the ponies in unison to express their apologies.
"Wow, that is a truly interesting story, because I always knew that I needed all of you to keep me in my place. I need some kind of a challenge, or things would be too boring! Imagine using a cheat codes for a game for the whole game! that would just be a waste of time." said Discord. Luna had a smirk on her face because she knew exactly how that would be.
"Now you've all got it!" said Chaos before he was about to leave. "OH! I almost forgot something!" Chaos used is magic to DE spawn Luna's special somepony.
"Wait no! Don't take him away from me! I finally found who I could truly love after so much time. We have so much in common!"
"I'll say!" added Pinkie
Chaos did not know much about love, it was a trivial thing in his eyes. But he did his best to reassure Luna. "Don't worry little pony! He's not even real no matter how real he seems. I'm just that good!"
"So you just tricked me this whole time?" asked Luna
"That's what I'm good at! But I am sure you will find your special somethingy someday! I mean you do only have the rest of eternity to look! Maybe that pink pony with the heart on her butt can help you? Just a hunch."
"That sounds great!" said Cadance. "I never truly spent much time with you Luna, so that might work out for the better."
"Glad to see everything worked out!" said Chaos as he flew toward the sky. "Oh Luna, I was the one who messed up your game earlier and I blamed it on Discord. Ain't I just a stinker?! Oh well, at least you got cheesecake out of it...".
"Well goodbye my little ponies, and not so little ponies! Just remember that if you ever get too boring, I'll be back! Just don't get too chaotic though, or my annoying brother might show up!" said Chaos as his body turned invisible, leaving only his eyes, which then exploded into his purple, green, and pink smoke, signaling his departure.
Discord looked down at Celestia, "So, sunbutt huh?"
