Chapter 4

Destination: Ohio

Quill and Rainbow Dash ran through yards and such, they looked back and saw Police cars chasing after them.

"Rainbow Dash! Give me one of those beer bottles!" Quill demanded.

Rainbow Dash quickly unzipped her bag and gave a beer bottle to Quill and zipped it back up again. As the car drove closer, Quill threw the bottle at the windshield. The bottle went through the windshield, shards of glass went into the driver's face.

"OUTTA THE WAY!" Quill shouted.

Quill and Rainbow Dash jumped to the side when the car sped past them and crashed into a house. Rainbow Dash covered he mouth with one of her hands. The screams of a woman were heard from within the house.

"C'mon, we gotta keep going!"

They both ran through more yards, they hopped over fences, broke down fence doors, etc. More cops showed up in the neighborhood, however they didn't manage to block off Rainbow Dash and Quill from escaping. Eventually, the two made it to a dead end. The fence was too high for one person to climb.

"Quill, I got an idea, give me a boost!" Rainbow Dash suggested.

"Okay, I'll have to find another way around though." Quill replied.

Quill then went to the tall fence, squatted and cupped his hands. Rainbow Dash walked over to Quill and stepped on his hands. Quill used his strength and lifted her up over the fence. All of the sudden, a cop car drove down the dead end. The policemen same out of the car and pointed there guns at Quill.

"Hands in the air!" said a police women.

Quill did as they asked, he dropped his revolver, and put his hands up. The cops stepped towards him and pulled out their handcuffs. But Quill quickly reacted by punching the police women in the face, knocking her out. The police officer opened fire but missed Quill's head. Quill charged at the officer and started to ram his fist into his face time and time again. Quill repeatedly rocked the Police officer in the face so much that the officer went out like a light. Quill's hand was dripping with blood. He wiped it off on the cops uniform. Quill got up and picked his revolver back up. But he heard police sirens from behind him.

"Don't move! Or we'll shoot!" one officer shouted from afar.

Quill needed to think fast. He saw that the hood of the cop car was close enough to the fence for him to hop on for a boost.

"Perfect!"

So Quill climbed on top of the car and ran across it. The police fired their weapons at him, but they managed to miss every shot. When Quill's foot stepped on the hood of the car, he leaped for the fence. Quill caught the fence and pulled himself over it. A bullet managed to get him right in the arm.

"Aaah!" He yelped.

Quill made it over the fence, he tumbled on the grass hard. He let out a little yell on impact. Quill got up and covered his arm. Rainbow Dash wasn't behind the fence, he needed to find her, she had a first aid kit in her bag. Quill ran across the large yard looking for Rainbow Dash.

"God dammit, Rainbow Dash, where are you!?" He said to himself.

Quill turned his head and saw neighbors all around him.

"You best leave this town, young'n! If you know what's good for ya!" said an elderly man with a shotgun in his hands.

Quill put away his revolver and pulled out his Five SeveN pistol and pointed it at all the neighbors.

"Don't do ANYTHING stupid, if you do anything stupid, I'm capsizing your heads. Got it?!

The elderly man put down his shotgun. Quill kicked it across the grass, the elderly man flinched.

"Now, have any of you seen a girl here with Rainbow hair?" Quill asked.

"I'm over here, Quill. These people won't hurt us!" Rainbow Dash said as she stepped out of a house, "You don't have to shoot anyone!"

Quill put away his Five SeveN, and smiled. He walked towards Rainbow Dash and kept his eyes on the neighbors.

"Hey, aren't you that Quill boy?" An aged woman asked, "Why are you covered in gear?"

"Because an infection is coming, the police are in on it. My friend Rainbow Dash and I are leaving. Do any of you have a car we can use?"

"Why yes, I do. Where are you heading to?" A young woman asked.

"We're heading to Ohio. We got family to visit." Rainbow Dash answered.

"Well, I can take you there!"

"Good, we could use a lift." Quill responded.

"So when do you want to leave?"

Out of nowhere, 3 cops came out of a house pointing their guns at all the numbers. But Quill shot one cop in the head, while Rainbow Dash used both of her pistols on both hands to shot the other cops. This took place in a matter of two seconds. Rainbow Dash put both of her pistols in her holsters, while Quill pointed his pistol up.

"Now would be a good time." said to the woman

The woman nodded in shock. She ran to her pickup truck with Rainbow Dash and Quill Tale. Quill opened the door, letting Rainbow Dash in. He closed it when the woman hopped in.

"Get in!" the woman shouted.

"You go! Wait for me, I gotta take care of these Police!" Quill responded.

The woman in the truck drove off with Rainbow Dash, while Quill stayed behind.

"You," Quill said to the elderly man, "You're gonna need that shotgun."

The old man nodded and ran to his shotgun and picked it up. He followed Quill into the house where the cops came out of. Quill brought the man upstairs with him.

"Okay, I'm gonna shoot those policemen up here while you got my back!" Quill said to the man.

"Yes, sir!" the elderly man said as he saluted to Quill.

Quill smiled, and pulled out his M1 Garand rifle and ran to a window in the house. The man stood by the stairs, ready to shoot any cop coming up.

Quill saw the truck that the woman and Rainbow Dash were in. The cops chased after it, Quill shot a couple with his rifle. No cop knew who was shooting at them, that was the advantage that Quill needed. Rainbow Dash saw the cops coming for the car so she rolled down the car window and shot a cop with her 12 gauge, sending him back a couple feet.

"Th-That was kinda fun!" Rainbow Dash thought to herself.

Rainbow Dash kept shooting any cop who came up to her. One cop got up in her face and hit her in the face with a Baton. But she put the barrel of the 12 gauge to their head, pulling the trigger. Their head exploded and the body flew back 5 feet. And whenever Rainbow Dash was reloading, she sees Quill Tale shoot them in their heads.

"Hey! We got trouble!" The elderly man shouted to Quill.

"If there is, start SHOOTING!"

The elderly man aimed his shotgun at the door. A cop stepped in and the man pulled the trigger, letting lead spray on his head. The cop fell to the ground, dead. This went on for about fourteen minutes.

"Are we done yet?" The elderly man said to Quill.

"Yeah... I told you... the whole police force was in with the mobs yesterday, and they're doing something much worse. If we have any hope of fixing this, I need to get to Ohio." Quill Tale explained.

The elderly man understood. Quill got up, walked over to the man and shook his hand tight, thanking him for the help. Quill ran down the stairs, and ran to the truck, and hopped into the passenger's side. He closed the door and the truck drove off, leaving the countless dead bodies of police officers behind.

"Thank God..." Quill sighed.

"Thank God is right! We barely made it out of there ALIVE" Rainbow Dash replied.

"You two sure are the gunslingers! Now, why should I be driving COP KILLERS to Ohio!?" The woman yelled as she stomped on the brakes.

"Because the cops can no longer be trusted, and we need to get to Ohio to visit someone who can help us fight off what's coming" Quill explained.

The woman gave him a dirty look and rolled her eyes. Quill pulled out his revolver and aimed it right between her eyes. Quill's face became stern and focused once more. The eyes looked into your soul, the eyes frightened the woman.

"Do I need to repeat myself, Miss?" Quill asked with his gun pointing at her head.

The woman's face dropped, she kept driving and Quill put away his revolver.

"What the fuck, Quill!? Why do you have to let the gun do the talking!?" Rainbow Dash nagged.

"Cuz' that's gonna be the only thing to convince someone of something very soon." Quill said as he but more rounds into his revolver chamber.

Rainbow Dash sighed. But dealt with Quill, and his negative attitude. Hours later, nightfall came, Rainbow Dash was sleeping in the back, Quill looked out the window as the car flew past the glowing orange streetlights. Worry entered Quill's heart. Was this going to be his way of life from now on? Was he going to fail everyone? Would Rainbow Dash get caught in the crossfire? SO much worry passed through his heart.

"You okay there?" The woman asked.

"I....I'm fine, ma'am."

"C'mon, tell me whats up."

"My life coming ahead. My life's gonna get a lot harder, you know that infection on Philadelphia?" Quill explained.

"Yes, what about it?"

"It's gonna spread to here, and all over the Earth. I just know it, I've had visions. My uncle has had the visions too, that's why my friend and I need to get to Ohio."

"I see, do you have any type of... Special feelings for her?" The woman asked with a smile.

Quill blushed brightly, he shook his head.

"Nah, I don't have those feelings for anyone. She's my best friend though, she's been by my side for longer than I can remember"

"Well, you know, but friends are more likely to be together than most probable relationships."

"Ain't that good to know" Quill replied with a smirk.

The woman chuckled a bit. Quill had a warm smile.

"Hey... you got any tunes I can put on?" Quill asked.

"Yeah, I have some CD's. look in the glove compartment. I have some Aerosmith, Rush, Kiss, Five Finger De─"

"Five Finger Death Punch, you say," Quill said, "May I put it in?"

"Sure, go ahead!" The woman responded.

Quill opened the latch on the glove compartment and pawed around for the CD, all he found so far was an Aerosmith album and a Rush CD. Until he found a burnable disk, it said: "FFDP - The Tragic Truth." written in black sharpie. Quill grew a big smile on his face and stuck the disc into the slot below the volume knob. The music started, and Quill noticed it was a Karaoke disc. He remembered the words, so he started to sing

The woman was astonished at how strong he sang, he sang from the bottom of his heart, Quill sang accurately, his voice sounded so marvelous, the woman loved it.

♫I can't say the devil made me do it. I chose to be the one I am, the way I am toda-aa-aay. I wish there was, but there's no way around it. In the end I made the choice and will not die ashamed!♫

When the guitar solo started, Quill banged his head to the music, Quill sang loud and hard, waking Rainbow Dash up!

"What the hell!?" She said with a fright.

Quill looked back at Rainbow Dash and grinned, backing his head made his hair swing all around, Rainbow Dash knew what song was playing and decided to join Quill, for a little duet. Rainbow Dash put her hand on Quill's shoulder and banged her head with him

♫Someone tell the Heavens, I'M READY TO ESCAPE! YEEAAAAAAAAAH!♫ Quill sang and sang with heart.

All through that night while driving on the road, they sang songs. Quill and Rainbow Dash sounded so beautiful when they sang together. Quill had a deep baritone voice, while Rainbow Dash had a high soprano voice. The woman noticed, and smiled when they sang together. The way Rainbow Dash and Quill would look each other in the eyes when they sang was very cute. As the truck drove lit, empty streets, harmony was within that speeding machine, the woman realized that these two weren't bloodthirsty, heck, they didn't even seem like killers! Rainbow Dash seemed to be like a popular girl, in which she was, but looked so sweet and innocent! Quill looked like he was just a normal, quiet person, who never really talked, and hated everyone. But later, late the next day. Rainbow Dash was sleeping, Quill was wide awake with the woman. The woman saw Quill looking out the window, at the blueish purple sky, it was beautiful.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask you, what life did you leave behind in Canterlot?"

"A life that beat me down to the ground since the time I was born"

"Well, what do you mean?" the woman asked.

"My life in Canterlot is the past, the whole world is my future now," Quill explained, "So many faces I've seen... I'll never see again"

"What happened to you back in Canterlot?"

"The mobs. Rainbow Dash and I had to kill some, a lot of our friends were massacred. I almost got killed once, and Rainbow Dash almost got raped. I'm sorry for even dragging her in this. Must've been because she understood me more than anybody else"

"It must be because you love her. I saw it last night when you two were singing. I think she loves you too!" the woman replied.

"Oh, c'mon! A girl like Rainbow Dash loving me? That'll be the day I turn into pure gold" Quill chuckled.

"I'm convinced that she loves you. What was your family like?"

"My family is weird. The bad kind of weird. My brother and sister are not that weird, but my mother... She's like the devil on earth. She is the MEANEST bitch you'll ever meet."

"What about your father?" the woman questioned in reply.

Quill closed his eyes, saying,

"He's dead. He died before I was born, as a matter of fact, he died 19 minutes before I was born. My aunt and uncle say he was such a great man, and that I was just like him! I act just like him... mostly. I get my 'cruelness' on my own. I look just like him, I talk just like him, I'm pretty much his reincarnation."

"I-I'm so sorry. I had the same childhood as you, but it was still different. My mother was the one who died, I knew her for awhile. I was 12 when she died, and my father became abusive. Since I looked just like my mom, I'd put on her clothes everyday, look in the mirror and say 'Hi, mom!'"

"Wow, that's really sad. All I want is a happy life, happiness is something that I never really tasted." Quill stated

The woman stopped the truck, Quill got confused and looked forward, He saw a large sign saying Welcome To Ohio! Quill smiled and shook Rainbow Dash awake. She groaned when she opened her eyes.

"Rainbow Dash, we're here!" Quill said with a smile.

Rainbow Dash's eyes widened, she sprang up and got out of the truck, Quill opened his car door, and stepped out.

"You don't want me to stay here and wait for you two?" the woman asked.

"No, you can go back home. We're hitting the road. Thanks for everything, miss!" Quill replied.

The woman smiled warmly, and drove back to where they came. Rainbow Dash looked across the city, many soldiers were out in tanks, looking after the people within the city. Rainbow Dash saw danger when she looked at the soldiers. When Quill looked at the soldiers, all he saw was dead meat. They were at the sign, a wooded area was to their right, full of trees and shade.

"So... this is Ohio..." Rainbow Dash said lightly.

"Yep. It is, a lovely place. Don't trust those soldiers."
