Rainbow Dash stood behind the cash register on the counter in boredom. She was never deprived of fun for this long in her life. Unfortunately, there were no customers at the Ponyville café, which was the place that Rainbow Dash worked at. One of the biggest annoyances she had there, though, was Twilight Sparkle. The librarian fussed over every little mistake that Rainbow Dash made during her shift. Another bothersome pony at the restaurant was Derpy Hooves. Luckily, the clumsy mare was sick, and Soarin' was her temporary replacement. Ever since Soarin' received a letter from Derpy saying that he could work at the Ponyville café as an employee, Rainbow Dash fell for his dreamy gaze and humorous attitude. It got even better when Soarin' always worked with Rainbow Dash.
The phone that sat beside the cash register rang, snapping Rainbow Dash back into the present. The voice of Twilight could be heard too.
"I'll get it!" the purple alicorn announced as she burst out of the kitchen door and rushed over to the phone.
Rainbow Dash, being the fast pony that she was, picked up the phone before Twilight could. "Hi, welcome to the Ponyville café-" she began.
The rainbow-maned Pegasus was interrupted by Twilight, who tripped while she was still running over to Rainbow Dash and crashed into her. The phone was released from Rainbow Dash's gentle grip. It went flying, but before it could hit the floor, break, and cost 100 bits to replace, Twilight got up in a flash and grabbed the airborne phone. The purple mare saved the boss, Pinkie Pie, 100 bits.
Her back slightly aching, Rainbow Dash heaved herself up. Twilight jumped up. "I got it!" she said.
"Thanks Princess Obvious, now stop bragging!" Rainbow Dash scolded her fellow worker. In irritation, she grabbed the phone tightly. Twilight stumbled back a little bit from Rainbow Dash's strong force.
"You mean Princess Twilight?" Twilight said, confused.
Rainbow Dash just a Pegasus feather away from slamming her head on the counter out of annoyance. "That just leaped over your head, now didn't it? Take a joke!" she said in a bitter and somewhat sarcastic tone.
As Rainbow Dash held the phone to her ear, she could hear the confused words of the customer on the phone.
"Hello? Uhh, is anyone there? I still have to make my order!"
Rainbow Dash let out a small sigh of relief when she discovered that the customer still stayed on the line. She spoke calmly, pushing Twilight back a little bit so the light purple librarian wouldn't take the phone back from the blue Pegasus.
"Anyways, yes, welcome to Ponyville café, what would you like to order?"
A sigh of relief could be heard on the phone before the customer gave Rainbow Dash their order. But it sounded a little bit hard to hear them over the phone. It must be broken, though. Rainbow Dash shrugged, brushing off the issue with her hearing and the phone.
"One cheese pizza. Actually, wait, no. Pepperoni pizza! Yeah, I want pepperoni pizza!"
"Anything else?" Rainbow Dash said, still holding Twilight back gently.
"No," the customer confirmed. After that, they hung up.
Rainbow Dash softly put the phone back down on the counter, then delivered a hard stare to Twilight.
"You almost broke the phone, but whatever. Make a pizza, now!" she ordered.
Twilight jumped, startled from Rainbow Dash's loud and somewhat furious voice. "Got it!" she confirmed, then ran off into the kitchen in the back.
Then, shortly afterwards, Soarin' appeared. "Hey! Any orders yet?" he questioned cheerfully.
"Yeah, pizza," Rainbow Dash groaned. For the first time, she wasn't interested in meeting Soarin's beautiful gaze.
