Inside the Mind
Chapter 5
Previous ChapterNext ChapterPinkie continued to pull Cinnamon along the path, but they didn’t start heading for Ponyville, they actually went down a path that led farther away from town.
“What is Sweet Apple Acres?” Cinnamon asked as they continued down the path.
“Oh, it’s an amazing farm that’s run by one of my amazing friends and her family!” Pinkie said with excitement.
“What about the ‘Sweet Apple’ part?” Cinnamon asked.
“It’s an apple farm!” Pinkie said as she turned down what appeared to be the main road.
An apple farm? Cinnamon thought to himself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an apple farm, or even a farm in general.
After a few minutes of walking and admiring the scenery Ponyville had to offer, they finally arrived at the wooden gate that led to the farm. Cinnamon was kinda surprised from the sheer size of the property, it looked like the apple trees went on for miles. Pinkie opened the gate and the two stepped through and walked down the path. Cinnamon looked to his right and saw a pretty big looking guy with orange hair plowing a field, he must be really strong to be pushing a plow as easily as he is. Cinnamon looked down the path and saw they were headed toward a barn.
Pinkie and Cinnamon walked into the house that was connected to the side. When they entered Cinnamon noticed how roomy it seemed, even though it looked pretty small from the outside. Pinkie and Cinnamon walked into the kitchen to see an older woman that appeared to mixing some kind of stew.
“Hi Granny Smith!” Pinkie said with a smile. Cinnamon couldn’t help but chuckle from the irony of her name. “Cinnamon is new here, and I was gonna introduce him to Applejack. Do you know where she is?” Pinkie asked. Granny Smith turned around and gave the two a warming smile.
“I think her and Rainbow were messing around in the back.” Granny smith said and then slowly turned around to continue with her cooking.
“Thanks!” Pinkie said with a small giggle after. The two then continued to walk through the house and two the back. As they approached the door that lead to the backyard, Cinnamon overheard some talking.
“I got this one Applejack!” Pinkie pushed open the door to reveal a small peg with a few horseshoes around it, and a few feet away was two girl that were holding horseshoes. One girl had amazingly eye catching rainbow colored hair and was wearing a blue hoodie and looked like she was about to throw the horse shoe, but then stopped once she saw that we came out. Next to her was another girl with a Stetson and a orange blouse and a pair of jeans.
“Well hi there Pinkie Pie!” The blond girl said as they tossed the horseshoes back on the ground and walked over to them.
“Hi Applejack, this is Cinnamon Glow, he just moved here and is going to be working with me at the bakery!” Pinkie said with a wide smile. Cinnamon extended his and Applejack shook it gladly. The one thing that stuck out more than her long blond hair or her brown Stetson was her magnificent green eyes, they were absolutely beautiful. The rainbow haired one stepped in front of Applejack once we had lowered her hands.
“I’m Rainbow Dash, the fastest runner in all of equestrian!” She said with a cocky grin as she extended her hand and Cinnamon shook it. She seemed kinda cocky, but nice none the less.
“What are you guy’s doing?” Pinkie asked as she looked back at their game of horseshoes.
“Rainbow over here said she was the absolute best at horseshoes, so we decided to play so I could prove her wrong.” Applejack said with a smile.
Rainbow gave a small laugh. “Too bad I’m winning!” Rainbow said with a smile.
Applejack returned that laugh with a small grin. “And that’s all about to change, you only have one horseshoe left.”
“So do you!”
“Yeah, but mine is the winning horseshoe.” Applejack said as the two walked back to their throwing spot. Rainbow picked up her horseshoe and crouched slightly and took aim for the peg. She made a small flick of her hand, but it was too much, and sent the horseshoe flying over, Applejack couldn’t help but grin.
Rainbow rolled her eyes in annoyance. “Ya ya, laugh it up. I’m still winning you know.”
“And that’s all about to change.” Applejack said as she picked up her horseshoe and looked toward the peg with pure concentration. She made a quick flick with her arm and threw the horseshoe with pure skill as it landed perfectly around the peg. “Yeehaw!” Applejack said with excitement.
Rainbow waved her hand at Applejack. “Whatever!” As Applejack was basking in her glory, Pinkie and Cinnamon took this time to walk back through the back door. They walked through the kitchen, said goodbye to Granny, and left. They walked up the path and through the front gate as a question came to Cinnamon’s mind.
“Hey Pinkie, what other things are there to do in Ponyville.” Cinnamon asked as they walked down the road.
“Ohhh!” Pinkie said with excitement. “Well one, there’s Bon Bon’s candy shop, that’s always a great place to get sweets besides Sugarcube Corner. There are also a bunch of shops too!”
After a few minutes of walking, they eventually arrived back at Ponyville.
“There is also this super cool night club at the edge of time with the amazing DJ Pon3!” By the time Pinkie finished talking they eventually arrived at Sugarcube Corner. Cinnamon looked up to the sky and realized it was sunset already, the whole day passed so fast.
“Well I’ll see ya later Cinnamon.” Pinkie said with a smile.
“So what time should I be here tomorrow?” Cinnamon asked.
“Pffft. Whenever you wake up is fine, no need to rush much on the first day.” Pinkie said with a smile.
Cinnamon returned that smile, and Pinkie opened up her door and disappeared inside.
Cinnamon turned around and started to walk down the road. There was a small hotel he was staying at that he booked the night before and saw it on the way to Sugarcube Corner.
After just a short minute, he arrived at the small hotel. He entered and picked up his key from the receptionist, and went up to his room. He laid down on his bed and gave a sigh of relief, while the day was fun, it sure was exhausting. He then froze as he realized that he didn’t he didn’t have his luggage.
“Aww shit…” Cinnamon said as he gave another rather annoyed sigh. I must have left it at Pinkie’s. Cinnamon turned off the light’s and rolled over to his side, he would just get them in the morning. slowly Cinnamon drifted into sleep, letting exhaustion wash over him.
Cinnamon’s eyes slowly cracked open, as light sept into the room. Cinnamon gave a rather loud yawn as he sat up and stretched. Cinnamon glanced at the clock and it read 8:45, I wonder if it’s too late to go to SugarCube Corner? Cinnamon stood up and decided it would be better if he took a shower first.
After a few minutes, Cinnamon stepped outside the bathroom with his hair still frizzled and slightly damp. Cinnamon walked up to the mirror and used a comb to brush his hair the way he liked at. Once Cinnamon was satisfied with his appearance, he glanced at the clock and it was a little past nine. Cinnamon walked through the door and went downstairs, he gave the receptionist a slight nod as he passed, and went through the front door. Cinnamon stepped outside and gave a slight stretch and a yawn. But when he reopened his eyes all he saw was a baseball hurtling toward his face, then black.
Cinnamon gave a groan as he forced open his eyes. But something was off… Instead of the bright blue that normally filled the sky, it was a dark and ominous black.
“You okay?” Cinnamon heard the familiar voice of Pinkie Pie ask him.
“Yeah, I think so.” Cinnamon said as he saw Pinkie’s hand outstretch in front of him. He grabbed it and hoisted himself up, but then his jaw dropped as he looked at Pinkie. Her hair was straightened down and had black streaks, and she was wearing a maid outfit!
