Over the years I have worked here, if I have learned anything it's three things.
Any day could be your last.
You either risk your life, or get bored out of your mind.
When you think you've seen everything and can't be surprised anymore, guess what. You're wrong!
When I walked in the door I thought it was going to be a number two day. I couldn't be further from the truth. I walked in thinking about Gibbs's twelfth rule, never date a co-worker. That was my least favourite rule due to the feelings I'd developed on my partner Ziva David. I did have to smile thinking about her. She may have been raised as a Mossad Assassin, but had become an American citizen, gotten a permanent spot on Gibbs's team, and caught my eye. Most people thought that wasn't hard because of what I tended to talk about. Y'know, one night stands with random girls. I admit it's a lie. I had been slipping into a daydream about Ziva, when Gibbs's voice pierced the air. "Gear up! We got a dead marine and an unidentified creature. Also dead."
I quickly grabbed my gear and responded, "On your six boss!"
***********Tim's point of view*********
When Gibbs said unidentified creature, that threw me off, but I quickly got my stuff and followed. We got into the van and Gibbs drove to the area. The murder spot was a half hour away, so the drive gave me time to think. Gibbs had a lot of rules that I could comply with. Except for one. Rule 12. I realized Abby and I had broken up, but I don't think either one of us wanted to. I had no idea how long I had been lost in thought for, but I snapped out of it as I realized DiNozzo had been using a bunch of his 'creative nicknames' for me. "Hey! Probie Wan Kinobie! McDaze! Um, McDaydream! Yo, Probicus!"
"What do you want Tony?" I asked exasperated.
"You've been staying out the window for 10 minutes now. What's goin' on? You've been out of it all week. And you're a terrible liar. You can't lie to me."
Ziva agreed and said "Yes. DiNozzo is correct. You have not been like yourself lately. What is going on?"
Realizing I want getting out of it, I rolled my eyes and said, "Well it's just I over think things and I hate one of Gibbs's rules." I had said that last part very quickly hoping they wouldn't realize what I had said.
DiNozzo have an evil grin and said, "Oh, I see what's going on. You still haven't gotten over Abby. Oh poor McGoo."
Ziva, coming to my rescue pointed out, "Tony, give him a sleep. We do not choose who we fall in love with."
I think I was the only one who saw the blush on her face as she said that while looking at Tony.
DiNozzo rolling his eyes said, "Ok. I know that and also Ziva, it's give him a rest. Why did you use Tony and not DiNozzo?"
Ziva groaned and said, "Because I thought you were too simple minded to realize you were DiNozzo."
I jumped in and said, "You guys might want to stop arguing. We kinda have to do our jobs."
Ziva glared at Tony and growled, "This is not over."
************Ziva's point of view****************
I have fallen in love with my partner. The one I argue with and tease. I do not know how this happened. I just hope my blush was not noticeable when I was saying that we do not choose who we fall in love with. I sighed as I got out of the van thinking. I heard Gibbs say, "David, find locals and see if they know what happened. McGee, find anything that could be a lead. DiNozzo, pictures."
As I walked around the crime scene, I noticed the lack of people around. I also noticed that our unidentified creature seemed to be a horse or something. "DiNozzo," I called, "Do you know what the creature is? It looks like a horse."
"I think you're right Zee-vah." He replied using that terrible nickname I usually hated, but I kind of liked coming from him.
I called back, "Abby is the only person who can kill you leaving no forensic evidence. She will help me kill you if I ask. I can also kill you 18 ways with a single paper clip. Do not use that terrible nickname you quote on quote creatively came up with for me. Now I must get back to my job."
************Gibbs's point of view************
Lately I don't even know how to face my life. I don't think my team knows I had heard their entire conversation in the back of the van. I happen to know Abby still wanted to be with McGee, but didn't want to break rule 12. I had actually been thinking about getting rid of rule 12. I also know Ziva and DiNozzo both have feelings for each other, but don't know about the other's feelings. I realized I had gotten lost in thought again. That was the third time that week that it had happened.
"DiNozzo!" I called out, "Is our unidentified creature still unidentified?"
"Uh, boss. We think we know, but some things are confusing us." DiNozzo responded.
"Explanation DiNozzo." I yelled back.
"Well it looks like a small horse but it has a horn." He said sounding confused.
I pulled out my cell and called Jen who was at NCIS. "Director Shepard."
"Hey Jen. It's Gibbs."
"Hello Jethero. Why are you calling?"
"I think we need to involve the ECIS."
********Abby's point of view********
I was in my lab waiting for the guys and Ziva to get back and thinking. I was disappointed. I missed being with Timmy. We hadn't been together for about three years. When Tim started Gibbs's team we had to break up to follow Gibbs's rules. Needless to say, I don't think either one of us was ready. I was also starting to worry. The team usually was back sooner. "Abbs. Abbs! Abby!"
Suddenly a voice tore through my daydream and I jumped about 2 feet in the air. "Sorry Abbs, I didn't mean to scare you."
I threw my arms and him and exclaimed, "Timmy! You're Okay!"
He hugged me back with a smile and said, "Yeah. Why?"
I took a deep breath and started talking really fast. "Well you guys and Ziva were gone for a really long time and I was getting worried and-"
He cuts me off by putting a finger to my lips. "Abby, we're all ok. I need you to come to the conference room. Director Shepard and Gibbs need us."
"Why?"
"I don't really know. Something about an, um ECIS or something."
"Oh my gosh we're contacting Equestria!? Let's go!"
************Tim's point of view************
Now I was more confused than ever. "Equestria? What? Abby! Wait!"
As I chased her to the elevator I thought. In fact, I wasn't paying attention and I ran into the back of the elevator. I heard Abby giggling as she asked "Are you ok Timmy?"
"I think so." I said rubbing my head. "But what's Equestria?"
"Oh right! Well none of us were here yet last time we contacted Equestria. I don't really know, but Jen said it's awesome!"
By that point we had made it to the conference room. As I walked in I saw a..... unicorn?
**************Tony's point of view**********
What. That's all that was going through my head when I looked at the screen. A purple unicorn was on the screen. And she was talking. I assumed there were others in the room. She was saying, "Pinkie! Put it down. Do you know how hard it is to get interdimensional signals!?"
She sounded exasperated. Just then Jen walked in and exclaimed, "Twilight! Thank you for contacting us! We actually need help with a case."
"Hi Jen! We need to talk when there isn't a case that needs solving. But anyway, I'll introduce you to the ECIS team. Girls! Come on we have a murder to investigate! Can you please be serious for one minute? Anyway this is Pinkie Pie, this is Fluttershy, this is Rarity, this is Applejack, and this is Rainbow Dash."
"It's always a pleasure. This is the NCIS team. This is Tony, this is Ziva, this is Tim, this is Jethero, and this is Abby. We have recently come upon a case that involves a unicorn. As we don't know how to perform autopsy on unicorns we need help."
***************Ziva's point of view*************
Oh. My. Gosh. Unicorns and pegasi! My little secret was I loved mythology! I was speechless. THen Twilight said, "I'm going to open a portal. If you bring the unicorn through the portal we can check it out."
I felt a grin start to form on my face. Then it fell when my 'amazing'partner leaned over and whispered, "Happy Zee-vah?"
"Why DiNozzo, I happen to have a paper clip in my pocket." I said as I pulled one out. His face paled and he shut up. 'Finally' I thought.
Then I heard Twilight and Jen discussing the portal. Then Twilight turned and spoke directly to us. "When I open the portal, when you come through, you may change. I went to your world once and became a human. You may become a unicorn or pegasus or an earth pony. We will open the portal tomorrow.
*************Gibbs's point of view************
Oh my god. First the FBI and now horses. What next? Manticores? Griffins? I took a deep breath and when the video call ended, I turned to my team and said, "You all heard Agent Sparkle. We leave tomorrow. Go home. Get everything you need because we don't know how long we'll be there. Also, as it is only 1:00pm get acquainted better with your partner. Ziva, Tony you're going to be partners. Abby, Tim partners. Now go."
I gave a small smirk as they left. This was partly a test. I knew each partnership had feelings for each other, whether ready to admit it or not.
"Jethero. You have rules. Are trying to get them to break rule 12?" Jen asked after we were alone in the conference room.
"Look Jen. I want to know how my team thinks of me. If they see me as an equal, than they will be able to talk to me. I also want to know, would they be committed enough to break a rule? If they love each other they will be willing to break a rule."
"Your logic is confusing Jethero. I like that. I'm assuming we will be partners than?"
"You're going Jen?"
"Of course. Twilight is an old friend of mine. When you become director of NCIS, you get acquainted with the ECIS team."
"I did order my team to get better acquainted with their partners. How about dinner? I can pick you up at six."
"Of course Jethero. I shall see you then."
*************Tim's point of view************
I smiled when Gibbs assigned me and Abby together. As we left I said, "Hey Abbs, can we talk down in your lab?"
She responded, "Of course Timmy. Is something wrong?"
I sighed and said, "Sort of. But not exactly."
As the elevator descended, I thought about how to say what I wanted. When we got to the lab, Abby got two chairs and we sat down. Looking at me with concern in her eyes she asked, "What's going on?"
I sighed and decided to be blunt I said, "I hate this."
"What? The assignment? Working here?"
"Sort of the second one. I love having friends at work and helping the world, it's just Gibbs's rules."
"What rule?"
"Rule 12. Abby I don't think either one of us was ready to break up. I still love you and wish we could be together. If that rule wasn't in existence I would be the happiest man alive."
"Wow Timmy. I really love you. I just wish there was no rule 12."
At that point I started thinking. Maybe it wouldn't be breaking the rule if I just married her. Gibbs's rule was never date a co-worker. Not never marry a co-worker. "Gibbs told us to get more acquainted with our partners. Want to go to dinner?"
"Of course. 5:30 work for you?"
"Sure. I'll pick you up. I love you Abby."
"I love you too Timmy."
I don't know what was going through my head. I decided to propose. I packed a few things, then made reservations at a nice restaurant. I drove to a jewelry store to buy a ring. I chose one that had a black diamond on it. I was freaking out and excited at the same time.
***************Tony's point of view***************
"So, um, Ziva. Want to go to lunch?" I asked slightly nervous.
"That would be lovely Tony."
"Uh, where do you want to go?"
"Hmm. How about that sandwich place a few blocks away?"
"Sounds good."
We walked to the sandwich place and thought the whole way there. I wanted to tell Ziva what I thought about her, but I didn't know how. I took a deep breath as we walked inside. We ordered our sandwiches then got a table. I sighed. I looked Ziva in the eyes and said, "I'm tired of pretending."
She looked at me confused and asked, "Whatever do you mean Tony?"
"I mean I try not to let anyone know, but from the time I first met you I fell in love with you. I try to pretend you're just my partner, but Ziva, you're more than that."
"Tony, I didn't know you felt like that. I guess if you admitted something I must do the same. I feel the same way. I do not know when it started, but I have fallen in love with you."
"Wow. You know, I was worried about this. I don't know why anymore."
"Same with me. But what about rule 12?"
"We can figure that out later."
************Ziva's point of view*************
I couldn't believe it. Tony had fallen in love with me! I do not think I could possibly be happier. I was not sure what to say now as an awkward silence fell over the two of us. Deciding to start a conversation I said, "So, ummm, looking forward to going to Equestria?"
"Well it seems cool, but if we become ponies that'll be pretty weird." he said with a smile.
I smiled back and said, "I think it would very exciting to do magic or fly."
"True, but what if you're an earth pony?" He challenged.
"Then you deal with it." I said ending the argument.
*************Abby's point of view**************
I couldn't wait to go to dinner with Timmy. I didn't realize he really loved me that much. I had gotten so lost in thought I jumped about a foot in the air when the doorbell rang. I looked and Tim was standing out there looking a bit flustered. Smiling, I opened the door and gave him a huge hug and a kiss. Then the biggest surprise of my life happened. He suddenly got down on on one knee and said, "Abby, I know we haven't dated for years, and this is really sudden, but I was actually planning on this a few years ago."
He pulled out a black box revealing a black diamond ring. "Abigail Shuto, will you marry me?"
I put my hand to my face in shock and nodded happily as I was crying too much to answer. My dream had come true. He gave me a sweet smile and slipped the ring on my finger and gave me a passionate kiss. "How about dinner?" He asked.
"Of course!" I replied.
I couldn't stop smiling the entire way to the restaurant. Then, something occurred to me. "Timmy, what about rule 12?"
He smirked and said, "I found a loophole. Rule 12 is, and I quote, 'never date a co-worker', not never marry a co-worker."
"Okay then!"

I will not have another chapter out for a while. Granted, probably only a week or so, but due to a recent death in the family, I won't be able to work. I hope you understand.

Ok guys. I was hoping to be updating more, but between my cruddy social life, school, and, like, 15 extracurricular activities, the next update won't be up by the end of the week like I was hoping. It should be up by Valentine's Day. Secondly, for possible scenes in upcoming chapters, I am adding a gore tag. I will warn at the beginning of chapters with gore so READ THEM! Thank you and please comment.
Chapter 4
***************Ziva's point of view*************
I smiled up at Tony as he drove me to his apartment. We had stopped at my apartment so I could pack some stuff. He had teased me when I put books in my bag but shut up when I dropped a box of paper clips in. While we were eating lunch, he had asked me to come to his apartment to watch movies. I was kind of excited when we pulled in to the parking lot of the building. When we walked in, I was surprised at how organized it was. He said, "The movie cabinets are right over there. Pick a few out. You want any in particular snacks?"
I looked at him confused and asked, "Should you not pack?"
He grinned at me and said, "Well FYI Zee-vah, I always have at least a week's amount of clothing packed. I try to always be prepared."
"Back to the snack question - candy. I like candy."
"Okay. I will do that while you pick movies."
I smiled and walked over to the cabinets. I dropped my mouth in awe at the sheer number of movies. I poked around and choose Brave, Tom and Jerry and the Magic Ring, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. When Tony walked back in with snacks he smiled at my choices. "Oh, yes Miss Ziva. Starting with child rated movies. We will get you up to my level. But I must say, you picked some good child rated movies."
He smiled at me and we sat on his couch to watch some movies. But before the first one started, I looked up at him and said, "You know Tony, the DiNozzo charm may have started working on me."
************Gibbs's point of view*************
I smiled at Jenny as I drove her to my favorite Italian restaurant. When we walked to the guy seating people, and I said, "2 for Gibbs."
He looked up and said, "Oh yes, this way please."
He lead us to the table and we sat down at our table. Then, I noticed something. "Hey, is that McGee and Abby?"
Jen looked where I was looking and said, "I think it is." Then she gasped.
I asked, "What is it?"
She smiled and said, "I think Tim proposed!"
If I had been drinking I would have spat it out every where. "Wait, what!?"
She smiled at me, and God I love her smile. She pointed at Abby's finger and there was a black diamond ring. I had to smile at that. They really were meant to be together. "Well I'll confront them tomorrow."
************Tim's point of view************
I smiled at Abby as we sat at our table. I sighed. Abby looked at me and asked, "You okay Timmy?"
"Yeah! Especially because I'm going to marry the most beautiful woman ever."
"Awww. Thanks Timmy."
"Yup. But in retrospect, how are we going to tell Gibbs?"
I sighed but Abbs smiled at me and said, "We can cross that bridge when we come to it tomorrow."
"K. Well when we are done here, do you want to come to my apartment?"
"Sure. Though I didn't actually pack yet......"
****************Abby's point of view****************
Timmy drove me to my apartment so I could pack some stuff. I also grabbed a change of clothes and put on pajamas. We headed to his apartment to hang out and get some sleep. I smiled and kissed his cheek. He smiled back and caught my mouth in a kiss. I grinned and walked over to his movie cabinet and grabbedThe Hunger Games. I snuggled up next to him and watched the movie. I looked up at Tim and said, "Timmy?"
He looked down at me and said, "Yeah Abbs?"
"I love you."
He gave a light chuckle and replied, "Love you too Abby."
Chapter 5
***********Tony's point of view********
I woke up to the daily alarm on my phone kind of confused. I was asleep on the couch, the TV was on, and I was next to Ziva. Memories of last night came flooding back like a river. I smiled and kissed Ziva on the head and said, "Time to get up my beautiful ninja."
She yawned then looked around and smiled. She grinned and said, "Good morning to you, my wonderful Italian."
I gave her my 50-watt smile and joked, "As much as I want to stay like this, we are going on a dimensional journey at work. Wow, I love my job."
She grinned at me and said, "Well I better get ready then."
10 minutes later we were in the car driving to work. Ziva was bouncing with anticipation. I grinned at her and said, "Excited?"
She stuck her tongue out at me, but said, "Yes, I am."
**************Twilight Sparkle's point of view***************
I honestly couldn't help it. I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Hey Twilight. Are you okay?"
I couldn't help but smile at the bubbly voice behind me. "Hi Derpy. I'm not really sure. I mean, Celestia gave me the spell and everything, but I'm freaking out!"
"Twilight, I'm sure everything will be okay. I mean, you were Princess Celestia's personal student, and now you're an agent and a princess!"
"Thank you Derpy. I should get to the conference room, and so should you. The NCIS team will contact us soon."
************Abby's point of view***********
I grinned at Timmy as we went to work. I nervously fingered the ring on my ring finger. "Tim, what if Gibbs is mad at us? I'm kind of scared."
He looked at me with a small smile and said, "You shouldn't worry. You're his favorite. I should worry."
"Oh Timmy don't worry. Being the favorite gives me power. I can keep him from firing you him. But, um, should I take the ring off? It does kinda stand out."
He gave me a kind smile. "Abbs, you do what you think you should."
I smiled at him and took the ring off. I saw something a bit sad in his eyes. That is, until I took my necklace off and slipped the ring on the chain. I gave him a smile and winked. I had seen it in a movie once. We got our stuff and headed to the bullpen. I figured since we were dimensional traveling (God I love this job.) I'd hang out with the guys and Ziva. And then I could have sworn I had a heart attack. Gibbs said, "Elf Lord, Abby, my office."
***************Gibbs's point of view***************
I think Abby may have actually had a heart attack when I called her and Probie into the elevator. I hit the button and turned to them. "So. When's the big date?"
Tim looked like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar. "E-Excuse me boss?"
"You proposed to Abby. When are you lovebirds getting married?"
Abby stared at me in shock. "How did you know?" She asked, obviously surprised.
"Last night I was at the same restaurant as you two. I saw Abby's ring and the way you two were looking at each other and put two and two together. I looked at the footage from the security cameras in the lab. I can't be mad at you two so I am changing rule 12. Keep it out of the workplace. And Abby, wear your ring with pride."
They just started at me like I had lost it. I had to give a small smile at that. I then hit the switch as Abby took the ring off her necklace chain and slipped it on her finger. When we got off the elevator, I turned around and smiled at them and said, "Congratulations McAbby."
McGee smiled and said, "Thanks boss."
****************Tim's point of view*************
I smiled as Gibbs said, "Grab your stuff. We are going to leave soon."
We all got our bags and followed Gibbs up to the conference room. I have Abby's hand a quick squeeze still amazed I was alive. When we got to the conference room, Twilight was on the screen. "Hello Agent Gibbs. My team and I are ready to open the portal."
Gibbs nodded and said, "Good my team and I are ready to come to your world."
"Good. Okay girls. Are we ready?"
I heard other voices exclaim "Yeah!"
"Alright. Portalium Fortuna Malifiniosium!"
I jumped slightly as a rainbow shot out from the crown on Twilight's head and a portal appeared literally right next to me. Twilight groaned and yelled, "I don't know how long I can hold it! Please hurry!"
Gibbs looked at us and nodded. I grabbed Abby's hand and jumped through the portal. Weirdest. Experience. Of. My. Life.
