CH1: Minds
Two years, seven-hundred and thirty days since that battle. The battle that brought three races together against a common enemy. The 'Fear' as they called it, a few soldiers were lost, but most got right back up after the enemy leader was defeated. No one knew why, they just let it go without question. They thought the battle won, the enemy was still there. Formed from the collection of fear of every living soul, there is always fear, never to leave.
Sure some ponies just let this pass and they honored the Commanders sacrifice. A memorial, simple, yet it gives the message. A gray color was the only color it had four pillars with a main cube in the middle with chains connecting the pillars to the top of the cube. Within the cube, was his sword and pieces of scavenged armor. With a magic seal so only he could open it.
At the base of the cube was a set of flowers, brought by multiple ponies. But the ones that were the most noticeable were the lavenders. Set there by the pony who he first met, the one who had a stronger connection, the one who.....That's another tale, for another time, so let's move on.
After the battle, his body was moved to the hospital, they tried many ideas. Yet none worked, yet his heart still beat and his mind still thought. After a day, no one was allowed to see his body. Something was going on, but by order of Princess Celestia, no one was allowed to enter the room. Not even Twilight or her friends.
But what did most think of the Commander, you might ask. Well, there are a lot of opinions. But, that's another little story to tell. To truly know the Commander, is to know someone who would give there life to save many without thought. A reckless hero some called him, a savior by other, and a monster by some.
But he might be a monster to some; he would still protect them, no matter what. If it cost him his life, so be it. He would still defend them, no matter how much they hated him. It dose not matter to him, for he just brushes off insults. But insult his friends, and expect a reaction.
He has changed, over the time he was here, he changed. Not a cold-hearted soldier. But a caring soul, no more solid hate and thought of death. But a smile, before the explosion, most said they saw him smile. Not a sad smile, but one of happiness.
He is order and he is fear. But those elements coincide with each other. Chaos and Harmony; harmonic chaos, ways to break, but always fixable, he controls it. The inner daemons, the ones that give him power. Like Ice and Fire, always opposites, but they still coincide with each other.
No need to worry too much, life comes and goes, but to try and say that when you are sure you should have died. His powers where small before he got here. But they improved overtime, he controlled them. Some healing magic and blade enhancing magic, had he didn't get too far before having to enter that battle.
You think most would move on and go about their lives before that battle. Ignoring the scars it left on some, and just moving on, but, some still remember it. The fire, the smoke, the explosions, and the screams, the darkness of the clouds and the rain made it a muddy and messy battle.
But, it is best to move on from such things. The Commander never knew who his parents were exactly, but he kept going. Not letting small things keep him from moving to the next level.
He had his friends, yes, maybe not a blood family. But a family by heart, by thought, and by experience, nothing to break them apart, not even death. Not war, not hate, not love, none of these things could break the ties between them. Always together, even after what happened.
But what truly happed to Commander Wolfgang, is not my story to tell. It his story and he will tell it in his words. So I leave the explanation of that to him. Only he can truly tell it the correct way. No one else can, he sees what his mind sees, and we can't see what it sees. For we are not him, and we can only trust him when he tells his tale.
Let's focus on his friends, what happened with them. Well, I can tell you that, I can tell you all of it. We will start with the first, Magic. Twilight Sparkle, the first one he met. The first pony that is, and it went well, three dead Changelings. But who doesn't meet a creature from another world in such a way? Back on the main line, Twilight locked her self in her house for weeks on weeks, never coming out, not even for Celestia, Luna, Cadence, her brother, or her friends. Because, when you loose a friend in such a way, no one would be able to take it easy, seeing an explosion and then seeing your friend just lying there, not moving, scares you, it makes you hope for that it did not happen.
The others did their best, but no matter what they did, they would still feel pangs of pain. Rainbow Dash helped Scootaloo to fly, Rarity continued her outfit making, AppleJack kept bucking trees, Pinkie Pie still did her crazy antics, and Fluttershy cared for the animals.
Celestia kept a watch on Wolfgang, but told no one of his condition. Only to say that things are going to change. When Luna and Cadence told her to tell them of what was happening; she would not.
But time rolled on, from days, to months, to years. Adventures still happened with the six, but everyone still remembered him, how he helped out now and then. How he punched BlueBlood, and how he helped Scootaloo find out what happened to her father. He was a good soul, no matter how mean he was at time or how rude or vulgar, he was a good soul.
But, life did go on, but as I have said before. That's another story to write, another little tale. There is still hope, he is alive and dead. Opposites that coincide with each other.
