//-------------------------------------------------------// How I Will Miss You -by Fedorable Deer- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One         “How long do I have?” Oliver Men asked. His face covered in dread of this sudden news. He swore he had beat it, he knew he had beat cancer. He tried so hard, but yet now it was for nothing. For these past two months he had been living life to it’s fullest with his last brush with death, but now this life filled enthusiasm ended. His Doctor frowned, and looked at the report. “Twelve months. . We might be able to help you again, but the chances are very slim. I am sorry. I suggest you continue to live the same way you have for the last two months. No need to not enjoy these last days. Here, you might be interested in pamphlet.” Doctor Dex. handed over the small booklet. The cover was not comforting to Oliver, as it showed the gates of heaven. In big, almost ethereal words it said “Accepting Death”. The twenty-six-year-old man frowned at this. He didn’t expect to be like this in these years. As a child he had dreamed of making a change in the world. He had always wanted to be the greatest of all his peers. Which he was, he had aced all of his classes, and left High School with honors. Offers came literally overwhelming amounts to any college he wanted. He had chosen to go to a college by the name of “Tarlington” Which was located in Texas. He was so excited to live the life he dreamed of, but this excitement died as he first learned of his plight. He was not this sad the first time, no he was the opposite. He forced himself to be better, and fight harder, and harder. It got hard at most times, but he stuck through.  He was so excited when he learned that he beat this same disease that had killed his Aunt. But in that hospital room he could not be positive. Hazel eyes filled with tears, and Oliver stood up. Taking the pamphlet, the young man looked at the words over and over again. Those words never changed, and he just stared. Trembling hands kept him at bay from moving on. Doctor Dex. went to pat him on the back, but Oliver denied the touch, walking out of the room. “Accepting Death.” Oliver read. He tore up the booklet, tossing it in the trash. The once trembling hands, trying to hide their shame in his jacket pockets. As Oliver walked down the hallway, looking around. He was happy on the way here, the walls seemed so blissfully pure, and white, but at this moment, all Oliver could see was the stains on the wall. The dirt, and other things that infected this place of healing. The thought disgusted him, but he kept walking. He didn’t know what to walk to now. There was no future, no hope, nothing that can let him be free from the one thing that plagued his mind. His death had begun to replay in his head, over and over again. He imagined his mother, crying over her son as he slowly withered away. His older brother trying to hold back his tears, as he watched his only “Little Bro” fall into his fate. But even in this imagined scene, Oliver could not see his father there. It was true he had not seen his mom in almost a year, but his father was so distant in his mind, he could not even remember what he looked like. Suddenly Oliver’s thoughts had changed, he realized he didn’t even remember his own Father. Oliver stopped, his hand pressed against the glass door. His memory trying to remember the drunk man’s face, but yet it did not come to him, instead in his head was the color a chestnut brown. The walk home was longer than it should have been. Oliver’s legs did not seem to want to move. What was the point of even delaying it? Oliver thought, It will all be for nothing. I am just going to be dead soon. Why not end it now? That’s what I’ll do, I’ll save the pain. Dark thoughts had formed around his mind, as this imagined death scene he had, had changed to a thought of a noose. A gun also came to mind, but as he went to open his apartment door, all of these thoughts stopped. He looked to the apartment door, the numbers “176” seemed to jump out at him as he stared. He opened the door, and looked inside. He had no idea why he was feeling so hesitant, but when he saw the light blue walls of his room, this strange burst of paranoia had faded. Leaving behind nothing but empty thoughts. So Oliver stood there, with these thoughts of blank nothing. He, for a fleeting moment, felt nothing. His body numb as he looked to the T.V. It was on, and turned to some cartoon channel. Though he knew the characters were saying something, he could not pull himself to hear it. But, as it appeared, it had faded. His mind went towards thoughts, no longer of dark scenarios, but rather of blissful acceptance. He walked over to the top of the fridge, and pulled out a jar. Taking no moment to rethink, he smashed it on the ground. Six Thousand Dollars, and fifty seven cents fell onto the ground. Mostly in one twenty, and five dollars bills. A little less fifties, and one dollar bills, and even less of the hundred dollar bills. On the top of the mix was a giant pile of pennies, and a few dimes.         Oliver smiled to the pile. He knelt down, and took a few of the twenties, and fifties. Shoving them into his pocket, he ran over to his door. “I may die soon, but it’s not going to be regretting. I am going to live this life to the fullest.” Oliver ran out of the door. He had saved up this money to originally pay for the rest of his college days, but that meant nothing now. He was determined to live life to the fullest he could. He slid down the stairs, and landed, running as fast as he could. He stopped, and hit himself on the forehead. Silly me forgot to lock the door. Oliver was chubby, and tall. His height reaching six foot two inches, and he had a light blue hoody. The sleeves were slightly too long, but the human wore it anyways. His jeans were not baggy, but not tight either. They had a small sag, as it was obvious the pants had been for a larger him. His head still short of hair, only having a small, almost buzzcut length. The ponies seemed to confuse the Human as well. There was three in total. One seemed to be normal enough. Well as normal as a cartoon pony can get, her mane was really curly and fluffy. Her blue eyes glistening as he held tightly on the purple one. Wait, the purple pony had a horn, she was a unicorn? Her mane was normal enough, but still had an almost unnatural magenta and purple color scheme. Behind her, little wings poofed, which made Oliver jump back in surprise. Landing on the ground, and dropping his flashlight club. A grey pegasus moved closer, her stare was wall like as she seemed to have a lazy eye. On her back was two wings as well, but she didn’t seem to be with a horn.         “You ok?” The Grey Mare asked, she had a yellow mane and a- Does she have bubbles on her leg? Oliver suddenly freaked, looking at her, and crawling back more. “Did you just talk?” Oliver exclaimed. Half questioning, and half wondering how a animal could speak. The magenta pony had the same reaction. “And you can speak? Our language?” The magenta pony stood up, lifting a hoof as she looked around. The Pink pony just giggling and hopped up. She seemed to not take this situation as serious as she should of. Oliver stood up, and took a deep breath. “It’s ok, you just hallucinating. They can’t be real, it is just the. . . . Thing getting at you. Yeah, that’s it, you're in some form of shock.” Oliver looked down to the ponies, who were getting closer to him. The Purple pony looking towards this new creature. He looked like those things she saw past the portal, but yet he seemed, different. His skin was a shade of pinkish brown, which struck her as odd. That is not a coat color she has seen before on any pony. She neared closer, but Oliver backed farther away from her. “Well this is awkward, I apologize. My name is Twilight, Twilight Sparkle, and your name is?” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two “O-Oliver Men.” Oliver answered, hesitantly letting out his hand for a shake, mostly to see if she was real. Twilight let out her hoof, and in her movements, she had the same intention. As they touched, hand-to-hoof, they both flinched. She is real!? Oh lord! What do I do now? Go to a church? What? Oliver opened his mouth to talk again, but was interrupted by a squeal of joy.         The pink, seemingly only semi-normal pony, had jumped towards Oliver. Her hooves put on his cheeks as she spoke much too fast for comprehension.         “OhhimynameispinkiepieandIamsuperduperhappytomeetyou!” Oliver blinked, and looked to Twilight Sparkle. The Magenta pony just smiled, and shrugged.         “Just Pinkie Pie, being Pinkie Pie.” Twilight attempted to explain. Oliver had to take it, looking over to the pony smothering his cheeks with her cold hooves.         “Hey, my name is Oliver Men.” Oliver said, more calm than last time. He was barely getting a grasp of what was going on, but yet it seemed to simplify in his head. Twilight also barely making sense of this situation. She had forgotten how the three got there, but now there they were.         “Hi, I’m Ditzy Doo.” The Grey Pegasus finally saying after trying to have her own understanding she wasn’t in her imagination. Her voice seemed a little slow, and challenged to make some words out. But she smiled, and tilted her head. “I like muffins.” Oliver smiled at her. Now that his jump scare was over, he had to admit how adorable they were.         Pinkie Pie, sensing the tension in the room was over, jumped onto Oliver’s bed. Skipping up, and down on the bed she began to talk the same way she had done in her introduction.         “Soareyouamonsteroraprinceorsomethingsuperawesomelikesomewizardofadifferentracefro-” Twilight interrupted her with an audible question.         “What exactly are you, Mr.Oliver Men?” She questioned, finally taking a look around the room. The room was small to Oliver, but seemed to enthrall Twilight with the sheer size. She stopped, and levitated a picture towards herself. A picture of Oliver was on it, side hugging some older women. Oliver swooped the picture, and placed it back on the dresser it was originally on.         “I should be asking you the same question! I am a Human. A Homosapien, and obviously you must be some kind of horse.” Oliver felt he might regret that remark as Twilight Sparkle gasped. “I meant no offense what-so-ever by it, I swear. . . I just don’t know, what you are.” Oliver corrected. Ditzy Doo looked up towards the picture on the dresser, seemingly enthralled by the picture of Oliver, and the other women.         “We are ponies. Horse is an insult for. . . . Big ponies.” Twilight followed Ditzy Doo’s gaze. Pinkie Pie still hopping on the bed, ignoring the world around her as she repeats over and over again, “Wheee!”         “Who is that?” Twilight Sparkle finally asks, making Oliver look down to her, and Ditzy. Pinkie Pie landing next to the group, and rolled, her back side in the air, as her tail went in front of her face. She sat up right, and giggled.         “She was my Aunt.” Oliver answered. He walked past them, and went to sit in his bed to soak in all of the things bombarding him. Ditzy Doo tilted her head, and looked to Twilight Sparkle, who asked.         “What happened to her?” Oliver looked to Twilight, and decided to lay down.         “She died.” He didn’t feel like getting more into detail, and Twilight knew, it was not time to ask. Pinkie Pie jumped up on his bed, smiling as she looked at his eyes, her blue eyes almost piercing into his soul as he lifted a brow to the sudden behavior.         “And we are here, and we can be friends, and we can have adventures together! That sounds super duper fun!” Pinkie Pie smiled at her own imagination, as she layed in the human’s bed.         “Don’t you want to go back to- Where ever you came from?” Oliver sat up, looking at Pinkie Pie who just nodded. “But you are sad, and it is hard to be happy knowing somepony is sad. I’ll cheer you up! I know! Cupcakes! They make anypony happy!” Oliver blinked in confusion. He looked over to Twilight Sparkle, who he thought of, as the sanity catalyst of the trio. Twilight Sparkle just gave him a smile.         “I don’t know how we got here, in your world, but no need to stress over it. I hope you don’t mind, we might be here for a short while.” Twilight looked over the room again. It was pretty blank other than the picture of this Oliver, and his aunt. Though the walls had a smooth calm blue about them, it looked quite lonely. A single poster of a strange creature. It looked like Oliver’s race, except it wore some horned helmet, and it held in one hand a sword. The other hand was set ablaze by what looked like magic fire. In big silver letters the poster read “Skyrim”.         “Does your race use magic too?” She asked, mostly out of curiosity. Oliver had begun to stand up when she asked, and the question seemed to come out of nowhere.         “Uh, no. . . “ Oliver looked confused, but it soon dawned on him what started the topic.         “Oh, no. That’s just something someone came up with. It’s called a video game.” Oliver walked over to his dresser, and opened the top drawer, revealing a bounty of green cased disks. He pulled one out, but Twilight Sparkle was already next to him before he could turn to show it to her.         The cover startled Twilight as she first looked at it. A Giant Robot like machine stood, one hand opened, and the other was a drill. There was, what looked like, an evil little girl riding the giant robotic monster’s back. Though she was originally scared of the cover picture, Twilight found herself enthralled with it not that much longer. Oliver, sensing her sudden interest in the game, smiled. “Want to see what it is used for?” Twilight Sparkle nodded, and Pinkie Pie skipped over, looking at the cover too.         “Oh this looks scary! What does it do? How doesitworkdoesitshowimagesintoyourbrain like “PEW PEW PEW”?” Pinkie Pie smiled innocently, not knowing how confusing the question she just asked was. The last of the trio, Ditzy Doo, walked over to see what all the excitement was over. Her lazy eye struggling to straighten her gaze as Oliver showed her as well. The pegasus had a very different, and more frightened response. She meep-ed, and ran away, hitting her head on the dresser, she felt at her now sore head.         A small shattering sound, as on the floor was a sudden scatter of glass. Ditzy Doo looked to the mess, and frowned even more. Twilight walking over to help out the hurt mare, but Twilight’s touch was rejected as the mare went over to the shattered picture.         “I’m sowwy mister’” Oliver looked to the grey pegasus, her head hang down low as she tried to pick up the broken glass, and picture. Ditzy Doo was stopped by a human hand.         “It’s. . . . It’s fine. Not much of a problem, the picture is still intact. Here, I’ll sweep it up. Touching broken glass could cut your han- er - hooves.” Twilight Sparkle looked over to Oliver, who took a small broom, and dustpan from his closet. He swept up the glass, and put the picture back onto the drawer. Seeing his aunt in the picture made him happy again, yes he may be having either psychotic ponies who might destroy his home, or he was heavily hallucinating because of some shock from the knowledge he was going to. . . her smile gave him a sense of ecstasy. His aunt always had that effect on him, when she was alive the two did everything together. She was almost more of a mom than his “Birthgiver” was. Oliver looked over to Ditzy Doo, who sat smiling. Twilight Sparkle looking at the case, and levitating it with her violet magic. Wait, where is Pinkie Pie? Oliver rushed out of the room, and looked into the kitchen. She was making a mess, throwing around random ingredients. Oliver had to duck as a few eggs were chucked towards him. Wait, where did she get eggs, he ran out yesterday. A surge of anger filled Oliver, he opened his mouth to begin to yell at this pink pony who just ruined his kitchen, but his mouth suddenly filled with a surge of delicious flavor. He chewed a bit, and suddenly realized what he was eating. It was some kind of mini-cupcake, and it tasted like the heavens had brought down sugar and flour; pouring it into mount Etna, to cook in glorious blessed explosion of flavor. The anger had slowly died, and Oliver was left wordless as he kept his finger up. Pinkie Pie just giggled as she hopped around him. “Do you like it, do you like it?!” Pinkie Pie repeated as she hopped around the captivated Human. “How did you even make this? All I had in my pantry was Hamburger Helper!” Oliver finally said, broken from his brainwashed state. Pinkie Pie just thought for a second, and just smiled. “I don’t know!” She skipped back towards the room. Oliver looked around his trash kitchen. Batter caked the walls, and sugar was piled next to the fridge. An empty bag of flour sat on the counter, surrounded by the batter that was used in the cupcakes. Oliver took the moment of silence to think. “What am I doing?” Oliver said. Sinking into his chair, he rubbed his forehead and looked to the t.v that was still on. The picture was playing some cartoon about a blue cat, and orange fish. Cartoons didn’t make much sense to Oliver anymore, and he barely knew why he even watched them anymore. He seemed to have some love/hate relationship with the children’s shows. Trying to feel a sense of childhood wonder, but the current ones were just getting worse and worse. The man looked around the  living room of his apartment, which was connected to the now trashed kitchen. What am I going to do? There are three little ponies in my home, and worse yet. . . They aren’t going to leave. . . Should I just tell them to go away? No that never works out well. Oliver’s train of thought being interrupted by the magenta pony’s voice. “Can you show me how to use this?” Twilight Sparkle asked. She was curious about the case that Oliver left her to observe. Oliver took it in his hand, and looked at the cover. Opening up the case, and took the disk out of it. Twilight just observed in awe, as Oliver turned on his Xbox, and the tray opened with a sound of screaming motors. The disk was inserted, and the tray closed, making Twilight Sparkle trying to get a closer look at the mechanism. Oliver smiled, impressed by the pony’s sudden skill at the Video game. She had only been playing for ten minutes, but yet she was blasting through the Video game. Twilight Sparkle was enthralled in a sense of total concentration. Her purple magic holding the controller with a strange grace that felt natural. Her sudden new addiction catching the attention of Pinkie Pie, who just sat next to Oliver, and watched along with the Human. Ditzy doo, though, was left out of the group. She cowered in Oliver’s jacket, and refused to sneak her entire head out, but did sneak a few peeks. Ultimately she was scared as she hid from the screen’s image. The time had slipped Oliver’s mind as he looked at the clock.         “Whoah it’s late. I got to get to bed.” Oliver stood up, and realized there was a pony in his jacket. She fell out, and made a “Omph” sound as she hit the chair. She looked up, and before Oliver could apologize she giggled, and smiled. Pinkie Pie smiling, and hopped off the chair of the chair, “Oh! Well it’s time to go to bed! Where do we sleep?” She asked, looking to Twilight Sparkle who was enthralled with her game.         Oliver scratched his goatee. He hadn’t thought of their sleeping spot. He would just shrug. “Why not on my bed? Just for the night.”         The colorful ponies would look at each other awkwardly. “All four of us? Your bed may be big, but so are you.” Twilight interjected, pausing the game and looking over to Oliver, who just smiled and shrugged.         “I’m sure there is enough room. Come on.” He went to walk into his room, but his pant leg was being pulled. He turned to see Ditzy Doo, who was biting down on the cloth. When she noticed she had Oliver’s attention she let go, and looked up to him.         “Dolly?” She asked. Pointing up to a little pony doll perched next to what looked like a lidded vase. Oliver frowned as he looked to the doll, remembering that being his Aunt’s favorite toy. The one she had ever since her childhood, and to her . . . . He looked back to Ditzy Doo, who had an adorable smile. He sighed, “Sorry Ditzy Doo. No.”         The Grey pegasus’s face changing to that of disappointment as she would begin to slowly walk away from the Human. Why do I have to be such a pushover.         “Here.” Oliver said as he lowered the doll toward Ditzy Doo, who smiled and hugged the doll tightly. “Thanks Owiver!” she slurred as she trotted happily to the room. The doll’s arm clenched in her teeth, which made Oliver almost regret giving it to her.         Twilight would yawn, and walked away from the Xbox. Oliver using the controller to turn it off, and Pinkie Pie skipping behind Twilight Sparkle. The Kitchen was spotless as Oliver went to turn off the light. Even the money that was scattered on the ground, was placed neatly stacked next to the cookie jar. Wait, when did I get a cookie jar? Oliver asked himself in his head, but he put the strange events to the side for another day. This was the end of this day, and he just wanted to lay down in his bed, and rest. He walked into his room, to see the three ponies placed delicately on his covers, already fast asleep.         Ditzy Doo curled around the doll, and was smiling brightly as her eyes had a relaxed blissful slumber present in the eye lids. Pinkie Pie was snoring a bit, but overall happy. Mumbling in her sleep about Rock Candy, or something else sweet and sugary. Twilight Sparkle the only one of the three who didn’t look at peace. Her eyes clenched tighter, and she seemed to be having a nightmare of some sort. Oliver Men smiled, and dared not to interrupt these ponies’ blissful slumber. He turned around, and closed the door silently behind him, and went over to his chair. Sitting down he gave a huff of breath he had no idea he was holding. He closed his eyes, and leaned back in his chair. “I think I am going insane.” He said with a sense of bliss, and peace. Taking seven minutes to finally fall asleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three Though the overall occurrences of the day he had just experienced, Oliver’s sleep was quite wonderful, but all good things must come to an end. Oliver’s eyes peeked open, and his mouth made groggy mumbles as the sounds from the kitchen became more apparent. Someone was in his kitchen, or shall I say some-pony, obviously making another delicious, destructive mess.         Oliver stood up from his chair, and stretched. His back making a violent pop, and as such, his shoulders and elbows followed the example. After about ten seconds of popping, and questioning one’s skeletal health, Oliver went towards the almost thunderous sounds of pots clanging and spoons clinking. The human stopped as a sweet smell filled his nostrils. It was maple syrup, and a familiar sizzle. The sizzle of pancakes cooking on a stove filled his ears as well, but he kept walking forward, to reassure his suspicions.         Oliver was right about who was the cook, the pink culprit giggling as she tossed pancakes in the air, using her tail like a human hand to flip the pancakes on the frying pan. Her hoofs turning a wooden spoon in a batter bowl, which to no more of a surprise, Oliver did not know he even owned. Twilight Sparkle was sitting next to the table, playing with Ditzy Doo, teaching her some version of patty cake. Ditzy was giggling like a filly as she played along, with a clumsy set of hooves trying to copy Twilight Sparkle’s. Next to her, almost flawlessly intact, was the My Little Pony doll that belonged to Oliver’s aunt.  The trio stopped what they were doing, “Good morning!” The voices said in unison. Twilight Sparkle excused herself from Ditzy Doo, who was just trying to practice the patty cake, and stood up to walk to Oliver. “We ha-” Pinkie Pie interrupting her friend as she interjected into the conversation, using her tail to show the stack of pancakes. “Look what I made? Wait do Humans eat pancakes? Oh! Or do you eat something like. . .” She rambled on and on about some alternate process of making a treat, but Oliver did not listen. His eyes staring at the clock, it was early afternoon. He must have slept in pretty late than normal, but as he returned his gaze to Pinkie pie, he noticed she was still rambling. “. . .And then you take a taffy machine, and you put the thingy in there, and let it stretch out? Do you? Huh? Huh?” Oliver looked at her, and mouthed words like he was trying to say, “I have no idea what you just said.”, but all that came out was, “We eat pancakes.” Pinkie Pie nodded, and placed the plate of pancakes on the table, which was already set up in perfection. She sat near her own stack, which was smaller of course, and she began to eat. Twilight Sparkle began to eat as well, looking at Oliver at first, but then just sighed and levitated over a knife and fork. Cutting a large sliver of the cake like disk, and putting it in her mouth. Oliver turned his gaze to Ditzy Doo, who sat a little confused at the stack. Oliver lifted a brow, and began to wonder to himself, How old is that pony anyways? Is she a toddler? No too big, but she- Oh, I see! Oliver almost facepalmed at the sudden realization, and walked over to Ditzy Doo’s plate. The Grey pegasus looking up to him, as he leaned over, and cut the pancakes for her. She smiled, and took the fork awkwardly in her hoof. Poking a piece of the syrup smothered pancake with the fork, and took the bite. Smiling as she chewed a little too much than needed for the cakey treat. “So what are we going to do today Oliver?” Pinkie Pie said in excitement. Before he even sat down she was already finished with her own pancakes. Her muzzle covered in the sticky, sweet, syrup. Oliver looked at her in surprise. “What do you mean?” Oliver responded, barely getting his first bite, before Pinkie Pie was up in his face again, her hooves pressing against his cheek as she looked him in the hazel eyes. “I mean what are we going to do today silly! Like go to the park, go to a restaurant, or even go on an epic adventure that means the fate of the world, where we learn more about the power of friendship.” Pinkie Pie began to skip on the table, which made Oliver hold onto the plate, trying to keep it from flipping with the jumbling table. “I guess we could- Wait, no we can’t go to the park. If people see you, they will freak. Sorry, I rather not have mass hysteria.” Oliver looked over to the trio, who was just staring at him with intense disappointment. The human sighed as he went back to eating, “Unless you can transform into a Human, I’m af-” “I got it!” Oliver flinched, and dropped his fork, almost falling out of his chair at the sudden outburst from Twilight Sparkle, who was standing on the table. “I can turn us into Humans! It will be temporary, but I can!” Twilight said matter of factly, her horn glowing as she hovered over several ingredients from the cupboards. Covered in purple magic, was Sugar, cinnamon, and the bag of Snickers, stashed away after being used for sundays with a date. Which failed horribly after Oliver had accidently scooped ice-cream on her shirt, and after words had root beer violently soak the entire outfit. In his defe- Oliver’s train of thought shifted as he saw a glowing purple light from on the table. The candy was beginning to spin around in the air, and Oliver cowered before the might of possibly explosive magic. The sugar had tore out of the bags, and covered the chocolate bars, and some strange bolt of magic hit the mixture, making it glow a bright pink. The cinnamon joining the mixture, and also getting it’s own treatment, the candy beginning to glow a rainbow color. As the stack of candies slowly began to calm down, and Oliver let out the breath he didn’t know he was holding, the spell exploded. It took fifteen minutes to wake up Oliver, who was sprawled out on the ground where his table should have been. Twilight Sparkle even pull his ear a few times, but that didn’t seem to work. Pinkie Pie walked over to the sink, and took a glass cup. Filling it, she walked over to Oliver’s unconscious body, and took a sip. She then poured the entire glass on Oliver’s face, making him jolt awake. Oliver wiped at his eyes, and yawned. “Hey! Oh hey. . . I had this crazy dream, where these colorful ponies appeared in our world or something, and ruined my kitchen three times. They-” When Oliver’s eyes opened all the way, he saw the three standing there, and he pouted. Not only did he just notice they were there, but the cliche of the scene. “I thought this only happens in movies.” Twilight Sparkle said as she walked over to Oliver, lending a hoof to help him up. Though he was almost five times her size, Oliver accepted the help, almost pulling her over as she tugged at his arm when he stood up like normal. “So what did the spell do?” Oliver questioned, knowing that his Kitchen might magically fix itself. Hey, it happened before. Twilight Sparkle smiled at the mention of her work, and floated over a scoop of tiny chocolate bars. They were rainbow colored, and smelled of perfume, and crayons. “What are those?” Oliver asked, taking one in his hand, tempted to try them out. “Well they are candy bars, made to make little ‘girls’.” Oliver put down the tiny treat, and wiped his hand on his shirt. What he had was enough, he didn’t need cuties. Twilight Sparkle just smiled as she took one herself, and looked at her work. “Well I did do research on your kind, being in a world like yours before, and I found a spell that can make an incantation candy. I hope it works, figuring I only used theory to actually back it up.” At this, Twilight Sparkle ate the candy, and immediately fell over, groaning in pain as she began to grow. . . When Ditzy doo finished transforming, the trio looked at each other. They were the size of little children, and didn’t look any older than thirteen. Twilight Sparkle, looking the oldest, had a skinny, and lanky body. Thank goodness it was clothed, a school uniform looking outfit, that had a small magenta, and purple skirt. Her hair looked very similar to her mane, but instead of it being swept from behind an ear, it seemed to go over her now small ears. Her face skittered with a few freckles. She tried to stand up, and did so. Wobbling as her body was trying to get use to the vague memory of using two feet. Pinkie Pie seemed to just skip up, and be able to almost dance without a second try. Looking around the age of nine, she had her hair short, but really curly. It had changed to a blonde color, and seemed to bounce with energy almost as much as she did. Shoulder length tresses, and ruffled top was strange for what her age seemed like, but other than that she seemed normal. Her attire a pink shirt, with a cupcake on it, and blue jeans. Ditzy Doo, who looked the youngest, seemed around age six, or seven. Her walking skills were very hindered as she could barely stand up properly. She fell over a few times after trying to take steps, which Oliver helped her back up, just so she could fall again. Almost thirty minutes had passed before she could walk, still seeming off balanced, but she did have a sort of balance that kept her from falling too much. Oliver looked to the new trio, and before he could compliment Twilight sparkle’s magic, he face palmed. I’m a grown man with three little girls, going to a park. They are going to think I am a freak. Oliver, groaning at the sudden realization of this awkward situation, just took another look at the group. They did not really notice his dread, as they spent their time adoring the new forms, and practicing walking. Pinkie Pie poked at her nose, and giggled as she noticed how small it must have been. Maybe I can play them off as cousin or something. I’m not that old yet. . . . I hope. Twilight Sparkle saw Oliver, standing in his pondering posture, and decided it was best to ask then. “So what are we going to do? Go to the park?” Oliver looked to her, and just smiled. “No, I have a better idea. Ever heard of an amusement park?” Pinkie Pie did not let the others answer, hopping over to Oliver, and wrapping her new arms around his neck. The human could not help but admire the sheer size of the leap, figuring he was two feet taller than the human Pinkie Pie, he looked over to her, and a smile was shining bright in his face. “I love amusement parks! Oh, the rides! The food! It’s allsuperdooperawesomeamazinglysweet!” The , now, little girl hopped from her choke hold, and landed on the ground, anticipating a day of nothing but fun. Twilight Sparkle walked over to Oliver curiously. “What is this amusement park?” She asked. Oliver smiled triumphantly, “It’s my favorite ever. It is going to be a long driv- Oh, I forgot, I don’t have a car. Oh well, I can borrow my friend’s, I’m sure he won’t mind. Let me call him real quick.” Oliver pulled out a device, that made Twilight Sparkle and the other two look in awe. It was a slim black device, with a glowing screen, that seemed to enthrall the trio. Oliver put off the group’s bewilderment for later explanation, as he dialed his friends number. -------------------Call to Charles Himera---------------------- *Long rings* “Yo’ it’s Charles” “Hey Charles, It’s Oli-” “Oh, Oliver! Hey man, sorry forgot to call, how did you appointment go? Or did you blow off rock climbing to hang with some chick?” “The appointment went fine, I just need to borrow your car, be- HI! Hello? Is there someone in here?- Pinkie Pie! Give that back! - HI!” “Oh, ummmm, Hello, Pinkie Pie isn’t it? That’s a weird name.” “Oh, y- Pinkie! Give me a second, I’ll let you talk to the phone later! Sorry about that Charles.” “Oh dude, it’s fine. Who was that?” “Well she is a. . . . A cousin, from. . . . Europe, yeah. But besides that, I need to borrow your car to take my cousins to Super-Fun-Land.” “Uh-huh, Oliver, there something you're not telling me bro?” “No, that’s everything. I’ll pay for gas, can I?” “Sure thing man. . . . It’s in the front of my apartments, you have the spare key right?” “Yeah, thanks man, see you later. Friday?” “Sure thing man. See ya’ Friday.” --------------Call Ended----------------------- Oliver smiled, and looked over to Pinkie Pie, who sat down patiently waiting. Reluctantly, he offered the slim black box of mystery to Pinkie Pie, who took it with much less reluctance. Holding the device in her hands -which she was still trying to get use to- Pinkie Pie gave it a quick examination, until she finally asked. “How do I talk to the person in the phone?” Oliver looked to her, then to the others. The girls’ eyes filled with anticipation for Oliver to “work his magic” on the device. Oliver gave in, and unlocked his phone. “It’s simple, you move your finger on the screen like this.” Oliver showed the screen as he slowly put his unlocking pattern on the screen. When he finished the girls awed as the screen changed to a background, that was Oliver skydiving. Several little folders caught Twilight Sparkle’s attention, making her lean closer to look at the ‘magical trinket’. “What are those little folders on the screen for?” Twilight Sparkle asked, looking to Oliver. He locked the phone, making the screen go black. “We will talk about that later, but first we have to get ready to go to-” Oliver was interrupted as Pinkie Pie pushed on his head, pulling herself higher than him with the leap. “Super-Fun-Land!~” The drive was long, and was mostly full of Pinkie Pie talking about crazy stories. One actually made Oliver crack up laughing. Twilight Sparkle had gotten her ho- hands on a book. It was on the process of making a car. But Ditzy Doo was not enjoying the ride as much as the others. Sitting silently in the back, she hugged at the doll that Oliver had given her. She did not know why she was so scared, she just knew she was scared. Wanting oliver to comfort her, she tried to lean forward to crawl into his jacket, or something, but the strap kept her back against the seat. She hated to feel like a child, though she knew it was unavoidable. She couldn’t help herself, and it’s not her fault she was. . . . Special. She sank down lower, silently, which caught the attention of Oliver. “Ditzy Doo, you ok?” He asked, looking into the rear-view for about three seconds, and looking back on the road again, just to reset his gaze after another three seconds. Twilight Sparkle stopped reading for a bit, and looked at her with concern, and Pinkie Pie actually stopped talking for a second. Ditzy Doo looked around awkwardly. She didn’t want this much attention, from anypony. She just closed her eyes, and clenched the doll tighter as she nodded. Oliver, not seeing anything else he could do, just looked back on the road. “Don’t worry Ditzy, we’ll all have fun there, I promise.” Oliver finished with as he looked back at the road. Ditzy Doo smiled slightly to those words. Maybe she could be happy, and have fun. Twilight bit her lip as she pretended to read. She couldn’t read in all honesty, her mind was too stressed to do so. Instead she festered on thoughts, and fears. Home. That word repeated itself. It’s where she wanted to go, though this world she was in now was so full of wonders, and new things to learn, she could not escape the fact she was scared. She was scared she’ll never come home. Scared of never seeing Celestia, Luna, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, or Applejack. Her thoughts even coming to miss ponies who were not as much as a friend, like Donut Joe. At one point she was thinking she was missing Discord. She missed home, and everypony. Twilight Sparkle looked up to see Oliver, his eyes were baggy, but he had a large smile on his face. What could you be thinking Oliver? What are you thinking Oliver? Oliver thought to himself. They were only an hour into the drive, and he could see the signs telling him he was near. He looked in the rearview mirror again, to see Ditzy Doo had not gotten any better. She seemed so down as she hugged that doll of hers. Twilight Sparkle was reading, and Pinkie Pie was just being as happy as ever, playing a game Oliver had downloaded on his phone. A red light shined, and he stopped. He felt tired, and exhausted, but he knew he couldn’t ruin the other’s fun. What can he do to get his energy up? Pinkie Pie was going to be hell to escort throughout the giant park, but he had two other alien ponies from an old show, but yet looked like they were spawned from a Japanese cartoon factory to look over. His eyes looked around the slightly packed traffic, and he smiled as he saw small little fast-food restaurant. “Who’s Hungry?” Oliver asked as he looked behind him to see Twilight sparkle reading, she nodded modestly, and Ditzy doo nodded slowly. When he looked to Pinkie Pie she was so enthralled with the little catapult launching birds, she probably wouldn’t mind no matter what. “ “Ok, let’s go!” Oliver pulled the car into the parking lot. He opened the door might never of heard. “Awww, are those your kids?” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Four //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Four Oliver could not be happier. He was bursting in laughter as they continued their drive, Pinkie Pie re-telling the little prank they decided to do before leaving the restaurant. “And when you picked up the ice cream from the the ice cream, and ate the cone!~ Oh! I can’t breathe!” She too was sharing the laugh as Oliver was wiping his hand with a napkin. He could get use to going on pranks with Pinkie Pie, she was a hoot. He turned to see Twilight Sparkle who was smiling, obviously finding it amusing, but did not laugh. Ditzy doo was giggling a bit as well, her grasp on the doll loosening. That made Oliver’s smile feel more joyful, he did not know why, but it did. A feeling of warmth filling him as he turned to continue driving. Good job Oliver, a great way to relieve the pressure in the car. He thought to himself, keep an eye on the road as he listened to group talk about some stuff he didn’t pay much mind to. His eyes spotting a sign “Super-Fun-Land! Up ahead!” “We are almost there guys!” Oliver announced, being rewarded with Pinkie’s squeals of excitement, and Twilight closing her book in anticipation. Ditzy Doo looking on the road, and felt much better than before the restaurant. She looked outside to the roads, and watched as the cars passed. Ditzy Doo squinted towards the distance, seeing a giant jungle of metal, and concrete. A large towering ride held a group of people, their screams being heard from the quarter mile away. A pit was felt in her stomach, but she looked up to see Oliver. Oliver hummed as they neared the amusement park, and as he pulled in he felt a tug at his jacket. Ditzy Doo was leaning as far forward as she could, the seatbelt keeping her back. Oliver looked back forward. “Yes Ditzy?” “Did you’ aunt take you here too Owiver?” Oliver stopped the car for a second, one reason could be the line for parking, but it was mostly because he felt the happiness flee him for a second. He felt dead, but the life sparked back as he looked back to her. “Well she did, but it was mostly for her own reasons. We’ll talk about it later Ditzy, but it’s time we just enjoy ourselves, ok?” Ditzy smiled, but Twilight frowned. You always hold it off for later. When are you going to tell us anything? She thought to herself in doubt of her new friend. She may look like a thirteen year old Human, but she was much more mature than how Oliver was treating her, and the others. She could probably read circles around him, even as a child. Why was he pretending they were so arrogant? Her train of thought shifted as the car began to move again. I’ll save it for later. She thought mockingly. Oliver had a large smile, as he mimicked a bellhop, opening the door for his new friends. Pinkie Pie being the first to jump out, excited, she bounced up and down, anticipating the day the four had before them. Twilight followed behind her, placing the book back in the car, and stretched her legs, and arms. It had been a long car ride, and she was quite eager to be able to walk again, even if it was on two legs. Ditzy Doo, being the last one in the car, looked to Oliver. “Can I take dolly?” The once-pony asked, hugging the character tightly. Oliver looked to her, and nodded, “Why not? Come on.” Ditzy Doo would slowly scoot out of the car, and stumbled as she started to walk with the group. Her hand grasping around Oliver’s as they made their way to the line, the man not resisting as he looked down at her with a smile. You sure are doing good Oliver. Amber would be proud. Oliver thought to himself, he looked to the gate, remembering the first time he was brought here by his aunt, Amber. Oliver looked at the giant gates to the amusement park, and frightfully squeezed his aunt’s hand. His parents were fighting again, and he would be living with his aunt. Amber smiled at the child’s tight grasp, and kneeled next to him, “Don’t worry Oliver!” She said, her voice almost booming as she pulled him along past the gates. “There is no reason to be scared of just metal!” She knocked on the metal poles, which made a satisfactory ring. “But Auntie Amber! I’m not scared of the gates. . . . It’s how big the place is.” The little Oliver said, pouting as everything past the gate seemed to grow, making him feel ever more short, and powerless. He would suddenly be lifted in the air, and when he looked to see how it could be, his Aunt returned a smile. “This place may be big, but together, it’s much smaller isn't it?” She smiled as she lifted the oliver on her shoulders. Amber was taller than most women, topping at about six-feet, and Oliver suddenly felt much bigger. He smiled, as he wrapped his arms around her neck. “We can do anything together, can’t we auntie Amber?” The tall woman smiled, and turned around, pushing up her glasses slightly. “Of course we can Oliver! Me and you are buddies for life, and buddies can do anything, and everything together.” Oliver felt a sense of security with his aunt’s words, not letting go as she carried him into the park for their fun. They walked, and got on the small rides, which made Oliver happy, and his aunt even more happy. When the night came, the two were laughing on the amusement park’s lawn. Eating the sticky sugary treat of cottoncandy as Oliver’s aunt made funny faces. Oliver could not contain his laughter, holding his sides as if they were falling off in the laughter. When he finally collected himself ,he would look up to his aunt. “Auntie Amber, thanks for taking me!” Amber looked to Oliver, and took a piece of her cotton candy, eating it. “Thanks for coming!” She said, wrapping an arm around her nephew’s shoulder, his face covered in peach fuzz made of cotton candy, and the syrupy wet sugar that acted as glue. He grinned, seeing that Amber almost had an entire beard made of the same substance. They both shared a laugh as they cleaned their own faces. “Do you think my parents will stop fighting?” Oliver asked, looking over to Amber, who’s smile had faded a little, she just made a ‘pfft’ sound, eating the last of the candy on a stick. “Even if they don’t Oliver, I’ll be there for you. Your dad is a drinker, and your mother is quite overbearing. That is not a good combination.” Oliver looked down a bit in the shame of the words, but Amber patted his back gently. “But they love you, and you should not be ashamed of their bad decisions. Just know, when you find a wife of your ow-” She was interrupted with Oliver making a gagging sound, and giggling. Amber joined, and ruffled Oliver’s hair. “You won’t be saying that. One day, you will not worry about cuties. But if you don’t, that’s okay. . . . You are yourself Oliver, don’t let anyone change who you are. No matter how ‘weird’ kids might think you are.” Oliver smiled at his aunt Amber. She was quite the character. Her almost crimson hair fell down in tresses that can make any fashion model shake in envy, and her thick black glasses had small silver ribbons tied to each arm. Her freckles scattered on her face, and the biggest feature that stood out ,was her lazy right eye. A modest dresser, she never wore pants, though she was always the one who wanted to have a good time. A mountain climber, fiction writer, vivid L.A.R.Per, and a Dungeon and Dragons fanatic. She was like a mother to Oliver, and his best friend. When she died, no one was hurt, as much as Oliver was. There he stood, alone with his Aunt on her death bed. She smiled up at what had come to be a son to her. “Oliver. . . . Don’t cry. . . . . .We are buddies, and buddies can do anything and everything together. I’-” She ran out of strength, and the machine would flatline. Her grasp around her nephew’s hand would soften, and be nothing at all. Oliver barely could bare looking up, seeing through thick, salty tears, his aunt smiling. “Oliver!” Ditzy Doo said, her eyes full of tears. Oliver suddenly looked to her, they were walking from the pinwheel ride. “I’m so sorry Oliver, so sorry! I- I’m sorry Oliver.” She repeated her apologizes. Oliver kneeled down to her. “What’s wrong? What happened?” Oliver said, looking her in the eye. Pinkie Pie looking over to the group as Twilight Sparkle turned, and kneeled to comfort Ditzy Doo too. “I lost dolly!” Ditzy Doo said. Oliver opened his mouth, as if to say ’WHAT!’, but he stopped. “It’s ok Ditzy Doo.” Oliver found himself saying, getting the attention of Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. “It’s just a doll. We will get you another.” Oliver said through his teeth. He was angry at Ditzy Doo for losing that doll. He should have never gave it to her, or let her take it into the park at least. Twilight Sparkle looked to Oliver, and noticed him feel his scalp in slight frustration.  Pinkie Pie just smiled, and showing her optimism, went over to Ditzy Doo, and offered a stick of cotton candy. Ditzy took the candy, and looked at it, taking a bite, and smiled warmly. Oliver yawned, and looked behind himself to see the ‘girls’. Twilight was obviously exhausted, and drowsy eyed. Her face holding a content smile, and next to her was a sleeping Ditzy Doo. In her arms was a pink, and white pony Oliver had won her in a game that had him throw darts at balloons. Pinkie Pie was in the Front seat, her eyes showing the same tired joy, of a pleasant day of nothing but fun. Oliver would look back on the road, content with the reactions of the day, he decided not to ask how it was for them. He already knew. He looked in the rear veiw mirror, and a blinding light would make him flinch, but it was intterupted with a smashing hit from behind. Oliver’s head was sent jolting forward, and he felt a huge pressure pushed him in the face, like a punch from a god. The large hunk of metal, would spin, and force the girls to scream, and their heads moved with the violent motions. Completely unable to control the heavy force that would be tossing them like ragdolls, if it had not been for their seat belts. When the force stopped, Oliver would cough, blood coming from his jaw. It was broken, his nose popped out of place, and glass cut him up pretty bad. He would look with little strength, and saw Pinkie Pie. She was crunched up, and seemed knocked out. Oliver tried to check her veins, and they were still pumping, he looked behind him to see Twilight, her body showing obvious agony, and she groaned as her two black eyes, and cut up skin made her feel intense pain. Ditzy doo laid silent, and her arm was broken. Oliver tried to crawl over to help her, but he would pass out from pain, and exhaustion. God damn it Oliver. . . You fucked up again. . . Please be okay, please be okay! Oliver opened his eyes here and there, to see paramedics freeing them from the car. Firemen using the jaws of life on the vehicle. He passed out, and Twilight Sparkle tried to stay awake, out of fear of a concussion. She would moan in pain as the paramedics tried to talk to her, but she couldn’t quite get anything out, just mumbles that were filled with blood. They put some strange collar on her neck, trying to keep it open, as they put her in an even bigger hunk of metal then what she was just saved from. She tried to look to her side, but the paramedics did not allow her. They tried to say something to her, but her ears were ringing, she couldn’t quite make out what they were saying. Pinkie Pie would do exactly what the paramedics said. Her once curly, and energetic hair, now straightened as it was soaked in blood. She felt terrible, she insisted that she sat in the front. She must have distracted Oliver, or made him do something. She was told when they were driving there, that Driving takes concentration, when all Pinkie Pie was trying to do was play a simple game of peek a boo. The girl cringed in pain, but still stayed silent. Ditzy doo was scared, frightened, and in a lot of pain. Her arm, and her left leg were broken, which made her cringe in intense pain. Why must this happen to me? Ditzy Doo asked herself as she tried to cooperate, but she was too busy crying. In both the pain from the crash, and the pain of never being able to have a good day , without something bad happening. She would get loaded into the same van as Oliver, and before she fell asleep, she felt a warm grasp around her little hand, which was starting to morph back into it’s hoof form. Oliver looked over to her, and gave her the most he can manage of a smile. “It’s ok. . . .” Oliver said, struggling to stay awake. “Oliver. . . . I’m sorry we ever came here.” Ditzy managed to say, which made Oliver chuckle, and look to the van roof. “Yeah, well. . . . Being sorry, doesn’t change it. Besides, either way, Charles is going to kill me.”
