Chapter 1 - Delayed Movements
Pinkie opened her eyes to blackness, unsure if her eyes were actually open. She was laid out underneath her covers, last night's dreams still echoing through her mind. The mare pulled back her sheets and rubbed her sleepy eyes, trying to remember what she had dreamed of. Her legs were kicked out as she rested the surface of her pink hooves on the wooden floor.
As she drew back her large, magenta curtains, the bright sunlight shone into her eyes. Pinkie smiled and wandered over to her hung mirror. Her memory was jogged of her dreams suddenly as soon as she stare into her own faint blue eyes.
~Pinkie began running as soon as she had heard the sound of heavy hoofsteps. As fast as she ran, the hoofsteps hasn't seemed to fade out. They only got louder as she ran faster. There was a shadow over her head, following her. Then she saw darkness.~
Her reflection had amused her, though she tilted her head in wonder as she stared into the glass mirror. She had copied herself, not a moment out of time. It was almost disturbing to see this exact replica of herself, just copying her.
There was a sudden silence as Pinkie raised a hoof to walk away, but the reflection had frozen. It hadn't reflected her position until it was clear that it was purposefully reflecting out of time.
'...Hu?' Pinkie immediately became confused, shifting again. As before, there was a short delay before the natural reflection was shown to Pinkie.
There was a knock at the door.
'Pinkie, you there?' The familiar voice was followed by another gentle knock. It obviously belonged to Applejack.
Pinkie focused hard on the mirror.
'I'm coming.' She replied, refusing to shift her eye view. The harder she stared, the more the reflection became different of her, her mane was straighter, her tone was dull and her face had been stained with a mischievous grin.
Pinkie blinked hard as she shook her head violently, rubbing her eyes. She uncovered her blue optics, only to see the same, in-time curly-haired pinkie reflection that she usually saw everyday.
Without looking again, Pinkie just walked away, still misunderstanding the reflection.
'Oh, hey Applejack.' Pinkie had opened the wooden patterned door, she was still flicking her head back towards her bedroom in curiosity occasionally.
'Hey Pinkie pie, I just came to tell you about the annual...' She had soon noticed pinkie's unusual behavior, 'You alright?'
Pinkie looked back at Applejack.
'I'm fine, it's just...' She was interrupted sharply by the deafening sound of shattering glass.
