Equestria is well-known for the Elements of Harmony which, when bonded with a pony that exemplifies a harmonious trait, act as a focus for that pony's innate power, be they earth pony, unicorn, pegasi, or even the majestic alicorns. The Elements were highly praised across Equestria after the defeat of Nightmare Moon, and subsequently Discord, Chrysalis, and Discord twice more. These powerful tools can also function in different universes, inhabited by an altogether different sort of creature. These great Elements were harvested in desperation from the tree of harmony, and protect Equestria to this very day from the forces of evil.

But...

What if the Elements of Harmony were not the only artifacts of this nature? What if there were more? And most importantly, what if these other Elements did not serve Harmony, but Disharmony? How many are there? How powerful are they?

It has been found that in direct opposition of the Elements, there were six Elements of Disharmony, each bound to a ring of black gold, and enchanted to mesmerize and weaken the wearer, in hope of preventing the Elements from overpowering the forces of harmony in Equestria. They were assigned to six ponies, dubbed "The Incorruptables" because of a natural resistance to the rings.

The proposed names for these six Elements are:
The Element of Greed, Counterpart to Generosity,
The Element of Cowardice, Counterpart to Loyalty,
The Element of Hatred, Counterpart to Kindness,
The Element of Doubt, Counterpart to Laughter,
The Element of Slander, Counterpart to Honesty
And finally, The Element of Corruption, Counterpart to Magic

The Incorruptables were sent bearing these Elements to the far reaches of Equestria to hide the rings away from prying eyes, hearts, and hooves. It was their sacred duty to be buried with their ring, never to be heard from again. Five of them completed their goal, and five Elements were lost to the ages. One did not. The bearer of the Element of Corruption was compromised, and made his way back towards Canterlot.

It was foretold that the Elements were not going to be easy to defeat, and that a true bearer would be born near the place where the six Elements were bound.
