I just laid on the couch, not saying a single word. I heard the door open and looked to see who it was. It was Fluttershy.

“Cameron!” She looked at me, with tears in her eyes. She ran up to me and hugged me. “What happened!?”

“I-I'm okay, Fluttershy.” I answered, hugging back.

“No, you're not!” She cried. “Your throat...you're cut!”

I held her close.

“I'll be okay, Fluttershy.” I told her. “I'm glad that you're safe.” We just sat on the couch. Fluttershy was crying in my chest, worried sick about me. I kissed her. “Don't worry, Fluttershy. I'll be okay.”

“A-Are you sure?” She looked at me, with her beautiful eyes.

“Yeah.” I nodded, smiling at her. She smiled back, with tears still in her eyes. I wiped the tears away, and looked into her eyes. “The only thing that matters to me is that you're okay.”

She smiled and hugged me. I held her close to me.

“I need to go now and walk with my friends. I'll meet Dillon at the park. My other friends said that they'll be in a party at Sugarcube Corner.” I told her.

“Okay, Cameron.” She said. I walked out and went to Dillon at the park.

“Hey Cameron.” He greeted me, in his quiet tone.

“Hello, Dillon.” I said to him. We began to walk to the jungle gym (they're normally called “monkey bars”) and sat on top of it. We talked and I noticed a vehicle driving towards us. It was the same one that the dogs drove away! Dillon looked very nervous.

“Should we split?” He asked me.

“Stay cool.” I said, when I looked at him. Then I looked at the vehicle, which stopped in front of us. Four dogs came out, stumbling.

“They're drunk!” I whispered to Dillon.

“So, are these the punks..” One of them began, “...whose friends tried to harm us?”

“Y-You're out of your territory!” Dillon said to them. “Y-You better watch it!”

“No, kid, you better watch it!” One of them said. I looked at Dillon and nodded. We slowly climbed off and looked at them.

“You know what humans are?” The tall one asked. “Weird creatures with weird feet!” He flung some drops of alcohol at us, and the others laughed. Cringing my teeth in anger, I spoke up.

“You know what a dog is?” I asked them.

“What?” The tall one asked.

“Weird creatures with strange tails!” I answered. Unable to think of any other comeback, I spat at them.

“Get him!” The tall one yelled, as Dillon and I ran. The tall one grabbed me and threw me to the ground. He wrapped his paws around my neck and began to strangle me. I struggled and kept trying to get him off, but to no avail. The darkness slowly overcame me.

When my vision faded in, I saw Dillon with a switchblade in his hand, shaking violently. He looked like he was close to tears.

“I-I-I killed him.” He said, his voice shaking as badly as his body. “I-I-I killed that dog.” I looked behind me and saw the dog, one of his paws on the stab wound that was on his chest, blood dripping from his mouth. I looked at Dillon's switchblade. The blade was dark to the hilt. I got up.

“Y-You really did kill him, huh?” I asked him. He slowly looked at me and nodded.

“What were you thinking, Dillon?” I almost yelled at him.

“Listen, Cameron!” He stood up and looked at me. “They were about to KILL you! They would've killed you!”

“What happened to the others?” I asked him.

“Th-They ran off, when I stabbed him.” He said, as he wiped the blade on the ground, trying to remove the blood from it. “Let's got to Nick. He'll help us.”

“Okay.” I replied, as we headed for Sugarcube Corner.
