“Don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet now.” A female voice spoke to a hooded creature next to her as they stood at the bow of the ship, staring at the port of the city they were going to land at in a few hours. There was a slight shake of the creatures head.
“I wouldn’t dream of it. I’m just wondering how they will react.” The creature responded. The female punched the creature with her fist. The creature hardly reacted. “And that was for?”
The female sighed and shook her head. “It’ll be fine, I mean they are your friends right?” The creature laughed.
“Tis true but it’s been a very long time since I have seen them. They don’t even know where I am right now. When I left I kept it at goodbye.” The creature stated flatly. The female laughed and wrapped her arm around its neck and leaned against it to keep her balance.
“Well that’s not good, you never told me that.”
“Yeah.” The creature said flatly.
The rest of the trip to the port went by silently as the two just enjoyed each others company. When they arrived at the port they quickly retrieved their bags and strapped them on their backs readying themselves for the trek ahead.
“So, how long will it take to walk there?” The female asked.
The creature lowered its head slightly before answering. “The trek ahead of us is at least one full day as I plan to make a stop somewhere before I attend to my old friends.”
“Only two days?” She asked astounded. “I thought it would be a lot longer, well no use standing around twiddling our claws right?” She said as she took out her hiking stick.
The creature gave a chuckle as it started walking down the busy streets with its female companion. Taking only a few turns here and there before finally exiting the city and continuing on their way towards the river that lead further into the country. The next day and a half passed by without event as the two continued their journey until they reached their destination.
The female stretched her arms high and let out a yawn as the creature stopped and placed its bag and staff on the ground. “So this is it, isn’t it?” The female asked. The creature removed its hood allowing its long hair to tumble out onto its back, held in a ponytail at the base of its neck by a crimson metal ring.
“Stay here.” It stated flatly, the female quickly retorted.
“No way! We came all this way I wan-” She was cut off.
“I have to be certain it’s safe and that nobody is here. If somebody is here we will wait at this spot until nightfall.” The creatures tone was deadly as it spoke. She quickly quieted herself and nodded as it disappeared into the forest ahead.
2 Hours Later
“It seems nobodies home, gather your items and let’s head out.” The creature spoke quickly as it appeared seemingly out of thin air in front of the female. She simply did as he said and gathered her items, quickly following it back into the forest.
“Why were you gone for so long?” She asked.
“There was somebody there, I waited to see if they would leave anytime soon. They left an hour after I arrived.” It answered.
She shrugged her shoulders and put her hands behind her head. “Can I ask you something?”
“Fire away.”
“Do...do you ever regret leaving these lands?”
The creature shook its head. “No, I don’t. I may have had friends here but my heart simply did not belong here. Besides, if I never left I never would have met you Faelan.” It turned around and did something she hadn’t seen it do in a long time. It smiled at her. Luckily for her, her scales were a deep scarlet so it couldn’t see her blushing deeply.
“W-w-what are you talking about?!” She demanded to know. It simply laughed and turned around. “Robert tell me what you’re talking about!” She demanded even louder as he jumped into the branches and up into the tree tops trying to escape her.
He climbed to the highest point he could at his current position in the forest, peering out over the forest and off into the distance seeing Canterlot standing majestically on its mountain. Turning to his left he found that a new building had been erected in Ponyville to which he smiled.
We’re back everybody
