"Why would my faithful student, my studious, faithful student, not turn in her homework on time?" Tears were coming out of the mangy-maned Twilight uncontrollably. "I tried to get the book on what you wanted me to get....I couldn't find it....I FAILED YOU SO BADLY PRINCESS!" she cried out. "Please don't expel me!" But Celestia ignored her pleas. She was taking a test on the Elements of Harmony, a important component of her studies. Without sufficient knowledge of the Magic of Friendship, Twilight would not move on to the next level of her studies, thus not able to become an alicorn, terminating her status as Celestia's student. "Twilight, I have let you be tardy once, because you were my student." Celestia continued. "But this was important. You know that. And now you officially are tardy." "No...." Twilight whispered. "Twilight, you have failed you studies and me...." the furious Princess announced. "So from now on, you are no longer my student. Get out of Canterlot, forever!!!!!" At that point, Twilight snapped. There was so much stress in her lifetime ever since her entrance exam, trying to be perfect, but all that was shattered. It was all for nothing. It was time to get rid of the stress for good. he stared at Celestia stoicly for what seemed like an eternity. Then, a creepy smile slowly crept up her face, and her lower eyelids twitched noticeably. Her eyes went off in opposite directions, and started to slowly walk to Celestia in a insane way. "Well, well, well, Iv'e worked and toiled under your commands ever since I was enrolled in your school, trying to be like you." she said in a creepy voice, still walking toward the unsettled Princess. "But all that work for nothing. I tried to find that little book, vital to my studies, and then I can't find it!" she told Celestia. Twilight giggled. "Please Twilight, don't be this way! Leave now! Please!" Celestia pleaded. Even though she still sounded angry and undented, she was actually scared out of her wits. "I've decided to get rid of my stress for good," Twilight continued as she climbed the stairs to her throne. "Now I can be free..." Celestia was shrouded in Twilight's shadow as she got closer and closer. Soon, Twilight was staring directly into her former mentor's eyes. "Goodbye, Princess Celestia!" she shouted in victory. Then her maniacal laughter filled the whole room. For a split second, as Twilight's horn was going to butcher her, Celestia showed a terrified face........ and that face was her last. __________________________________________________________________________ Guards quickly ran into the chamber, only to see Twilight's horn stained with red.Celestia lay dismembered, her breathing very jagged and shallow. It was mind-blowing to the guards that she was still alive. "P-p-p-please....*gasp* g-get h-her o-o-out of *gasp* h-h-h-h-h-here....." she gasped. Then Celestia's eyes rolled into her head. She was dead. The guards took ahold of Twilght, who was trying to break free. Outside the castle was a carriage with a prison cell for a trunk. "Take her to the asylum, driver. She ain't Celestia's student anymore. She is insane!" one of the guards commanded. The driver fastened the deranged mare in a straightjacket, and threw her into the back. As the carraige drove away, Twilight was laughing, "I'm free! I'm finally free!" And laughter was heard the entire trip there. _________________________________________________________________________ The asylum was dark and lonely, but Twilight didn't care. She was forever away from her mean mentor. She looked at the insane ponies also in the cells. But she didn't frown. Not a bit. Then she was locked in Cell 72004. She looked outside. Then, her smile faded away. What was she doing? Why did she snap? She ran around her cell, trying to get out. And then, she whacked the back of her head on the wall. And the last she saw before unconsiousness was blood. Meeting Midnight Dimmen Twilight woke up. Only she wasn't in an asylum anymore. She was on a round floating platform, with a six-pointed star in the middle. The sky was red and black, appearing to pulse. Twilight seemed to be alone. "Hello?" she shouted. But the only response was an echo for a little bit, but then, a slightly distorted version of her own voice said, "I'm right here." And, who seemed to walk out of the sky, was herself, but her dark purple hair was derpy yellow instead, and her bright pink strand of hair was now bright green, and the violet strand was now a darker green, but not dark green, and her pelt was as green as grass. Her teeth and eyes were black as night. Basically, the pony was just an inverted version of herself. "Who are you?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "Oh, don't you know, Twilight? I'm your consciousness, your darker side, and your insanity." the other pony said. "I am Midnight Dimmen." Twilight backed away. "W-what are you here for? Where am I?" Twilight stammered. "You are in a coma, and have been placed in the dark recesses of your brain. I'm here to show you the real reason you are in the asylum, the real reason you killed Celestia. It's not stress. It's your hard and tragic life that's snapped you." Midnight Dimmen explained. "We must explore your memories, or you will die." A portal opened up. "Shall you go, Twilight?" Twilight stepped forward. "Yes, yes I shall!" she announced. And they both walked into the portal. She'll give in instantly, thought the negative-colored pony. I can already imagine the faces of her friends as their dreams and friend fade away... Hold Me Now As Twilight walked through the portal, memories flashed by her. Her exam, her first friend, and the downfall of Celestia. She grimaced at what she done. Midnight encouraged her to keep going, even at bad memories. Then she stopped. It was a carriage spiraling down a cliff. "Do you remember this?" the negative colored pony asked. Twilight refused to tell her. Midnight, in a bout of annoyance, shoved Twilight through the memory. There was nothing at first, then a flash of light appeared. It was night, and a young Twilight was tucked in, her mother by her side. "But mommy, I don't wanna go to Manehattan for a vacation! I wanna be with Celestia!" the filly whined. The mother shushed her quickly, then pulled out a jewelery box. It played a tune, and at some point the older pony started to sing, "Hold me, hold me, in your hooves, I shall never leave you. Hold me, hold me, I will protect you. And if you love me a lot, I will forever be with you...." When the tune ended, there was another flash of light. It showed a carriage driving down the mountain of Canterlot. The fillies were complaining about being hungry, being bored, being tired, and other things. Then, the argument began. They were fighting about stuff that does not need to be argued about. "Star Trot is better than Axes and Alicorns! Sci-fi rules!" "Mommy is better than Daddy!" "I hate you, Shining Armor!" "I hate you, Twilight Sparkle!" And then, a fight began. It was just biting and punching, but it got worse. It got out of hand, and Twilight accidentally kicked her mom's face, who ended up bumping into her father, who was driving the carriage, and lost control. The carriage spiraled the very, very narrrow road they were on. And when things could not get any worse, it fell off the edge! It spiraled down the mountain. Twilight hid in a suitcase, and survived the crash. But when she got out, she could not see her mom or dad anywhere. She searched the site, afraid she was alone. But when Twilight found her parents, it was not what she expected. They were dead. Sobbing quietly, she sang, "Hold me, hold me, in your hooves, I shall never leave you. Hold me, hold me, I will protect you. And if you love me a lot, I will forever be with you...." __________________________________________________________________________________ The memory ended. Twilight exited out of the memory. Midnight walked up to her. "I killed...my parents." Twilight said solemnly. "But I never gave in to the past. Not yet." But Twilight had a little tangle in her mane. Midnight knew that. Good... Midnight thought. Soon she will die, and her friend's dreams shall be diminished...
