//-------------------------------------------------------// Opposites Attract -by Procrastinating Sidewalk- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Twilight Sparkle was preparing for her weekly picnic with her friends. They always had a tradition where they would dress up. not too little, not too much. Except Rarity, because Rarity was Rarity.    “Which one…?” Twilight Sparkle was in a conundrum of selecting the right dress for her picnic. Because of her O.C.D.-like behavior, she always takes longer than she should to pick her dress. “No. No. No. No. No….” She was going through her seemingly endless selection of dresses, mostly made by Rarity. “Ah-ha!”    Twilight settled on a blue dress. It didn't have a pattern on it, but it was nice for the occasion. Rainbow Dash cleared the sky for today, so it would look good on the blue background. It was also simple, just how she liked it.    “Ugh… finally… I don’t think I could take another ‘No’! Rainbow Dash would have died of boredom! The ‘No’s are bouncing around in my head! Could you please pick your dress faster?” A purple and green baby dragon made a fake, dramatic faint.    “Sorry, Spike. I needed to pick out the right outfit for the picnic. It needed to be perfect. And yes, I will try harder to pick my dress next time.”    “But you always say that!”    “And I always try as hard.” Twilight got her dress on and said her goodbyes. She almost left when she remembered something. “Spike, if you get hungry or thirsty, there is stuff in the fridge for you. Bye!” Twilight departed out the door.    “Bye! Have a good picnic!” Spike waited for the door to close. “Hehehehehe… All the ice cream I want…”                                                               ***************************************    Twilight arrived at the picnic. All but one of her pink friends were there already. Everypony was wearing a simple dress (Except for Rarity, of course, who went overboard.)    “Howdy, Twilight!” Applejack must have saw her first. All the other girls looked in her direction and give their greetings.    “Hi, girls.”, Twilight greeted. “Do you know where Pinkie Pie is?”    “Well whaddya know? She’s right there!”, Applejack answered.    “Oh, hello Pinkie Pie ooooooooh….-” Twilight found herself with her mouth open very wide. She blushed harder than she had ever blushed before. Ruby red cheeks, eyes as wide as dishes, she could only make a weird sound. “eeh…” She looked down towards the ground in order to hide her now, reddened face.    Pinkie’s dress was a white one. It looked like a simplified wedding dress. Elegant. That was an understatement. Every engravement. Every detail. Just beautiful.    “Hey, Twilight? Why are you so droopy?” Twilight looked up to see herself face to face with Pinkie Pie. She began turning red again. It started to get warm. She had to answer Pinkie though.    “Uhh… Just thinking. About my studies…” She gave a forced chuckle. Luckily, Pinkie was to hyperactive to notice Twilight blushing uncontrollably.    Twilight was too caught up in her thoughts to notice any conversation the girls were having. All she could do was think and stare. Am I falling in love with one of my friends? And is it really Pinkie Pie? Twilight’s mind was spinning at three hundred rotations per second. She kept thinking about Pinkie Pie. How beautiful she was…    “Uhh, Twilight? Are ya OK, sugarcube?” That snapped Twilight out of her thoughts.    “Yeah, I’m just thinking. About studies…” She mentally kicked herself for making that excuse again. Stupid! She thought.    “Ya sure? Ya keep zonin’ out and we are gettin’ worried about ya. We don’t want ya makin’ Ponyville into a free-fer-all over some doll again.”    “I’m fine! I’m just kind of tired! That’s all!”    “I thought you ya said you were thinkin’ about your studies.”    “Never mind. I’m fine, Applejack.” Twilight ignored conversations once again and began to question her sanity. Pinkie Pie? Am I really falling in love with Pinkie Pie?    Now she was thinking about who to tell. She needed to get this off of her chest to somepony. But it couldn't be Pinkie Pie, even though she would be the first to Pinkie Promise on a secret. It would be stupidly obvious that she couldn't tell Pinkie. How about Rainbow Dash? She kept many secrets for her before. But none on this scale. She needed to tell somepony, so she decided. Rainbow Dash would be the first to tell.    “...And the carrot sales pony says: ‘Carrots? We only sell apples!’” Everypony giggled, but Twilight was too caught up in her thoughts to even begin to question, let alone understand the joke. Rarity began to wrap up the picnic with a short speech she says every time.    “Well, I think we all have had an absolutely magnificent time together today at this picnic and we’re all looking forward to next week’s!” As all of the girls packed up and left, Twilight decided the time to tell Rainbow Dash was as soon as possible. She didn't want to wallow in her thoughts for weeks without somepony to help her.    “Rainbow Dash!”    “Yeah, Twilight?”    “Can I talk to you in private about something?”    “About what?” Rainbow Dash was now curious.    “I’ll tell you when we get there. Follow me.” Rainbow Dash followed Twilight, not knowing where they were going. Deciding to get one last look, Twilight looked over to her left and saw Pinkie Pie walking slowly home. Her mouth dropped open as she gazed at her. Again.    “Twilight, are you OK?” Rainbow Dash snapped a now drooling Twilight Sparkle out of her stare.    “Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s go.” Rainbow Dash followed Twilight into an alleyway about a half of a kilometer away from Golden Oaks Library. When they reached the end, Twilight was shaking, wondering if this was really a good idea.    “So, Twilight. What did you want to talk to me about?” Twilight’s ears drooped and she was beginning to sweat. She thought to herself one thing: Dammit.    “Umm… I have somepony that I may have a itty bitty crush on…”    “Oh my gosh! Who is this lucky stallion? Is he as awesome as me?”    “Well… She’s not a stallion. She’s a mare.” Twilight was now feeling a little self-conscious about this fact. Oh great. Now I’m telling her that I like a mare. Wonderful. I should have thought this through a little further. She thought to herself. She knew that same-sex relationships weren't uncommon in Equestria, but she still didn't know if her friends would accept it.    “Oh! That’s OK. Is she as awesome as me…?” Rainbow Dash was tensing up “I-is it me?”    “No, Rainbow.” Twilight chuckled.    “Ah, OK. It’s not that I would hate you for it. That would mean I would be a jerk. And I don’t want to be a jerk. I’m also not ready for this kind of thing yet…”    “Ah, OK. I totally understand.”    “Now, who is it?” Rainbow Dash was practically screaming with excitement.    “I’ll tell you as long as you Pinkie Promise.” Funny. The pony who created the type of promise is the one she has a crush on, yet she is using it to keep that secret from her.    “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye! Now tell me!” Twilight, now shaking, motioned for Rainbow Dash to come closer. Closer. Closer. She couldn't take a risk for Pinkie Pie to pop out of a garbage can or something like that like during the Photo Finish incident. Trembling, Twilight answered.    “It-it’s Pinkie Pie.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2   Rainbow Dash was trying her hardest to contain the biggest laugh she had had ever had in her entire life.    "T-Twilight? Hehe... You w-won't be offended i-if I l-laugh, will you?"    "Ugh... Fine. Go ahead.", the unicorn said, trying to avoid a headache caused by Rainbow's begging and pleading.    "Bwahahahahaha!!!! Twilight!? Of all ponies!? Hahahaha!!! That is hilarious!    "Ha, ha. Very funny, Rainbow Dash.", Twilight mocked in a sarcastic voice. "How about the time I saw you checking out Soarin' at the Grand Galloping Gala?" Rainbow Dash stopped immediately.    "Eh... Heh. It isn't really that funny anymore... ...That never happened!" There was a short silence. "But why is it Pinkie Pie?"    "I guess she looked kinda cute in that dress she was wearing at the picnic. I guess I just didn't know until now. Come to think of it, I do blush and get warm when she gives me hugs or gives me a compliment."    "Can I tell her?", Rainbow asked sarcastically, already knowing the answer.    "NO! NOPONY CAN TELL HER!!! YOU PINKIE PROMISED!!!"    "Wow, I was just asking a simple question. Jeez Louise. But it's kinda weird that the pony who made up the promise is having it used to keep a secret from her."    "Yeah, I was just thinking that before I told you."    "Is this why you were staring at her the entire picnic and drooling?"    "I was drooling!?" Twilight was now furious with herself.    "That answers my question. And yeah, you were drooling. Quite a lot, actually." Twilight was beginning to wonder if telling Rainbow Dash was a good idea. Maybe Fluttershy would have been good. She wouldn't ask a lot of questions and begin making wedding dresses, like Rarity would. And if somepony asked Applejack, since she is the Element of Honesty after all, it would be all over. Not that she couldn't keep a secret. Twilight just thought that it was better safe than sorry. "So, when are you gonna tell her?"    "Oh, I do have to tell her sometime, don't I?" Twilight asked the obvious question.    "Yeah, you kinda do." Twilight began to think out loud.    "Oh no! What am i going to do? If I tell Pinkie Pie, I don't know how she will react! Maybe she won't want to be my friend anymore because things would be too awkward or-" Rainbow Dash shoved a hoof in her mouth.    "Twilight. She's Pinkie Pie. How bad could she possibly take it?"    "I guess you are right." Twilight decided it would be a good idea to tell Pinkie Pie as soon as possible. She decided on sunset today.    "Great! Where is it going to be?"    "I'm not going to tell you where it's going to be. I don't want this to be a free show for just anypony to join in. This needs to be a private moment between me and Pinkie." Rainbow Dash groaned in frustration.    "Ugh, fine." She sighed in disappointment.    "I'll talk to you tomorrow about the results... Oops!" She realized she just accidentally told her she was going to tell Pinkie today. Dammit!, she thought again.    "Oh, you are telling her today, eh? Don't worry, I don't know where." She contemplated flying around town for the rest of the day just to find them talking.    "Oh, and don't go looking for us. You have to Pinkie Promise me that you won't" Crap, thought the blue Pegasus.    "Fine." Rainbow Dash said the little rhyme and made the motions.    "Thank you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to make preparations. Goodbye, Rainbow Dash!" The two walked out of the alley, separating at the end, each moving in different directions. Twilight made her way back to Golden Oaks Library where she saw a purple and green dragon sprawled out over the floor, groaning in agony. She also saw an empty container of chocolate chip ice cream.    "Spike, did you get into the ice cream again?" She already knew the answer.    "Ugh... Maybe?"    "Spike, you need to stop doing this! Not only do I not want you sick, I have to keep spending bits on ice cream that you eat in one day!"    "I'm sorry! Ice cream is just so tempting!"    "Look, Spike. I don't have much time to spend talking to you. I need to get ready... Oops!" Not again!    "Ready for what?"    "I have to talk to Pinkie Pie. I'll go over there for a few minutes, come back, then make preparations to go talk to her about something serious."    "Serious? Are we in trouble? Are we moving out? Are we-" Twilight shoved a hoof in his mouth, similar to what Rainbow Dash did to her.    "We are not in trouble! I'll tell you when I get back the second time." Curious, Spike asked another question.    "When?"    "Spike! I'll tell you when I get back! I don't know when that will be, but I just need to talk to Pinkie Pie about something. I'll go get stomach medicine and go for a few minutes. Then I'll come back then leave again. Then I'll come back again. Then I'll tell you. OK?"    "Fine."    "Now don't go anywhere. I have to go get stomach medicine."    "Wasn't planning on going anywhere for the next seven years, really." Twilight went to get stomach medicine and gave it to Spike    "I know it tastes terrible, but you are going to just have to accept it." Spike gulped it down and recoiled. He didn't want to say anything. He was just sprawled out on the floor, trying not to think about his stomach. Twilight made final preparations then went on her way.                                                                     **********************************************    Twilight arrived at Sugarcube Corner in which Pinkie Pie stayed. She knocked on the door, only to be answered by Mrs. Cake.    "Hello, Mrs. Cake? How are you today?"    "I'm fine. Do you want to talk to Pinkie Pie?"    "Yes, I would like to talk to her. Thank you."    "Come in. Her room is upstairs to the right."    "Thank you, Mrs. Cake." Twilight made her way upstairs and took a right. She knocked on the door to get a muffled sound that sounded like "Come in!" Twilight opened the door to find Pinkie Pie trying to put away her dress. Twilight used her magic to get it in the closet.    "Thanks. Twilight. I was having a bit of trouble. My Party Cannon takes up a lot of room. So, what's up, Twilight?"    "I need to talk to you tonight. Can you be on the hill we had lunch on at 7:30 tonight?" Pinkie was wondering what was up, but she decided to get an answer when the time came.    "OK, sure! I'll be there! Pinkie Promise! Cross my heart and hope to fl-" Twilight cut her off.    "No need. I trust you to be there."    "OK, thanks!"    "Can you wear that dress you wore to the picnic today?" Wondering why, Pinkie Pie asked a question.    "Why?"    "I'll explain when we get there. Say, can we stay here for a little bit? I don't spend much time with you."    "Sure, Twilight! It's nice to have company!" Twilight and Pinkie Pie stayed in the room until about 6:30. They talked, laughed, cracked a few jokes and enjoyed their time.    "OK, I better get going. I need time to get ready. Remember to wear that dress!"    "Sure thing, Twilight! Bye!"    "Bye, Pinkie Pie!" Twilight resisted to say 'I love you'. She departed and walked back to Golden Oaks Library where she found Spike as lively as can be, trying to get through the magical lock on the fridge.    "Spike!" Spike jumped and fell on the floor.    "Yeah, Twilight?"    "You should have learned your lesson after last time, which was mere hours ago!"    "I told you, it's tempting!"    "Never mind. I don't have much time." Twilight opened up the fridge to get a bowl of gems. "Fresh, cold gems without the dirt. They are your dinner. I have to go get ready. No questions." Twilight left the bowl of gems out for Spike and went into the washroom to take a shower, brush her hair and then brush her teeth for the sixth time today.    Twilight looked at the clock. 7:15. "Gahh! I gotta go!" Twilight got her dress that she wore at the picnic on and brushed her mane again. "Spike, you can eat the bowl of gems whenever you want to. I really gotta go right now. House is yours until I get back." Twilight checked the fridge to find the second container of ice cream that she bought still inside. She closed the door and put on a magical lock. "Wow, Spike. I'm surprised that you didn't eat all of the ice cream. OK, gotta go! Bye!"   "Bye, Twilight! Good luck!" Twilight dashed out the door and looked and pulled a pocket watch out of her pocket that was in the dress. 7:30. Dammit! I'm late!, she thought. She pushed harder to get to the hill faster. "Just... A... Few... Meters..." She had too much momentum when she reached the hill, so she was greeted with a tree to the face. Twilight heard a giggle from behind her that brightened her mood.    "Hehehe!!! Twilight! Are you ok?"    "Yes, I'm fine, Pinkie." Twilight looked around to see Pinkie Pie, waiting patiently while sitting in the grass. She was wearing her dress, as she promised. It began to get warm again.    "So, Twilight. What's up?"    "Pinkie. I need to talk to you." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3    "You need to talk to me? About what?" Pinkie began shaking, meaning her Pinkie Sense was working. This was a doozy.    "Pinkie? Are you OK?"    "I don't know! My Pinkie Sense is telling me that there is gonna be a doozy!"    "It is going to be a doozy alright." Is it good? Or is it bad? I hope she accepts it. "Pinkie. There is somepony I have a slight crush on." Completely oblivious to the situation, Pinkie began sputtering out all of her questions. "Oooooh!!!! Oh my gosh! Is he nice? Is he handsome? What's his name? Is he-"    "Pinkie. Remember what I told you about rambling."    "Sorry, Twilight. It's just exciting! What's his name? Huh?"    "It's..." Great. Gotta tell another pony I'm in love with a mare. "It's a mare."    "Oh, that's OK, Twilight! What's her name?" Twilight's fears were beginning to come back. Is she going to accept it? What will this do to our friendship?    "Pinkie Pie... It's you. I think I'm in love with you, Pinkie."    "Ooooh!!! That is soooo cute! When are you gonna tell her? When are you gonna ask her... Ooohhh..." Pinkie Pie's expression was unreadable. She looked confused, at the least.    "I'm so sorry, Pinkie. I just had to get this off of my chest." Twilight was sweating very hard now. She was like a Popsicle in the mid-day sun.    "Y-you love me?"    "Yes, Pinkie. I'm in love with you."    "G-gosh, Twilight. I never would have guessed. I don't understand." Twilight walked closer to Pinkie.    "Pinkie, when you arrived at the picnic in your dress, I was astounded. You looked beautiful. Stunning. I don't care if you went overboard with the dress.  You just looked absolutely amazing. I never felt anything like it before in my entire life. I guess it explains me getting a warm, fuzzy feeling when I'm with you or you are giving me a compliment or a hug. I will and have always loved all of my friends, but this is something different. You are fun, wacky and hilarious. You are an expert at cooking and you just make me happy, like you do anypony. But it feels different than when I'm with my other friends. It's weird that a bookworm like me would have a crush on a funny, sometimes crazy pony. In the good way, of course. But everypony thought I had 'the hots' for Cheerilee. But I didn't. Pinkie..." Twilight fought for the right words. "Will you be my very-special somepony?" An awkward silence ensued for about thirty seconds.    "I... I have to think about it for a while. I'm just not sure yet. But don't worry about anything. You will still be my friend, no matter what and I think of you no less. No matter what I decide on, you will still be one of my best friends."    "Thank you, Pinkie Pie. It's nice to know you don't hate me. Anyway, can we lay here for a little bit? I'm enjoying spending time here. I know you haven't made a decision yet, but I would still like to be here with you." Pinkie Pie smiled and answered.    "Sure, Twilight." The two lay down on the soft ground, close to each other. Although Pinkie hadn't decided yet, she wanted to make Twilight happy by nuzzling her on her neck, which sent a surge of happiness through Twilight. Twilight was enjoying her time with Pinkie. She felt warm , and not from nervousness anymore. Now it was coming directly from Pinkie Pie. Twilight was happy, hopeful, and excited. Pinkie Pie decided on an experiment.    "Hey, Twilight. I have a guest bed in my room back at Sugarcube Corner. Do you want to stay the night? Maybe if I spend some time with you, I might be able to make a decision." The unicorn was extremely surprised and excited. She just couldn't turn down the offer.    "I would love to, Pinkie."                                                *****************************************************************    Arriving at Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie and Twilight trotted up the stairs to Pinkie Pie's room. Twilight remembered something and panicked.    "Oh, no! I forgot to tell Spike where I was going to be!" Her mind scrambled again, and she remembered that she always carried the magical paper that is able to be sent to Princess Celestia. She also had a quill and some parchment with her. She looked at the window and saw a candle. Twilight got an idea. "Pinkie, I'm going to send a letter to Princess Celestia with a note attached, telling her to send it back to Spike. I can't send letters directly to him, so it has to go to the Princess before it goes to Spike."    Twilight wrote the letter and included a note, telling the Princess to send the letter back to Spike. Included in the letter was the location of Twilight so Spike knew where she was. She used the candle to burn the paper and send the letter. It was on it's way to Canterlot. It seemed stupid that the note had to travel all that distance just for it to go back to Spike, just a kilometer away. Twilight was snapped out of her thoughts by Pinkie Pie.    "Twilight, why are you staring out the window?"    "Oh, I was just thinking about the distance the letter was traveling."    "You aren't gonna make a big chart in my room, are you?" They both shared in on a laugh. The moments Twilight was spending with Pinkie Pie felt great. The laughs. The talking. Everything. It felt great. She loved it. She loved her. Pinkie Pie began to talk again. "I know! Let's have a slumber party! It will be great!", insisted the Pink Playful Party Pony.    "That's a great idea! What do you want to do fir-" Twilight's answer was abruptly ended with a pillow to the face. Quoting Rarity, she followed up on the pillow attack. "Oh, it is on." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4   Twilight responded to the pillow assault after noticing a large stack of pillows in the corner of the room, seemingly there waiting to be used by tossing three pillows at Pinkie Pie with her magic. Two of the three hit her square in the face. A series of giggles followed by a massive launch of what seemed like ten pillows ensued, but only two of them hit Twilight. A full-blown M.A.D.-fueled pillow war had broken out in Pinkie Pie's bedroom. It only lasted fifteen minutes, but was very fun.    Next, they watched a movie. Equestria isn't known for their technological advancements, but they still had things like movie projectors. The movie was a horror film. It was about two ponies stranded in the forest with a serial killer loose. At the scary parts, Pinkie and Twilight huddled together, holding each other tight. At the end of the movie, only one made it out alive.    "Wow... That was..." Twilight began.    "Disturbing." They both answered in unison and shared a giggle.    "So, Pinkie. What's next?" Twilight asked.    "Truth or Dare!"    "Oh no... Please don't go overboard on the dares, OK? I felt so bad for Rainbow Dash last time. I can't believe she actually put her head in the trash can."    "OK, Twilight. But I will still be brutal on the dares."    "I thought you just said you wouldn't be."    "I'm gonna be less brutal, Twilight!"    "Oh, OK. Who starts?" Pinkie decided to be first.    "Oooohhh!!!! Me! Me! Pick me!" Pinkie declared "Truth or Dare?" Not wanting to look like a scaredy-cat in front of her crush, she answered.    "Dare."    "I dare you to..." Pinkie thought for a moment. She still wanted to be brutal. "...Go eat a cupcake from the lesson I was having with Applebloom!"    "How is eating a cupcake so hard?"    "Go eat one and see..." Pinkie Pie let out an evil snicker. Twilight snuck downstairs into the kitchen and snatched a cupcake that actually looked pretty good. She brought it upstairs to prove to Pinkie that she was going to eat the cupcake. How is this going to be so hard?    "Chow down, Twilight. Hehehehehe...." Twilight rolled her eyes and bit into the cupcake.    "BLEH!!!! Oh dear, Celestia! What did Applebloom DO!?" She looked at the cupcake again to see the inside wasn't nearly as attractive as the outside. It didn't look like a cupcake. More like charcoal covered in icing.    "What does it seem like?"    "She burned the thing to a crisp! Oh dear Celestia! That was horrible!"    "I know! That's why I made you eat it!"    "Now it's my turn, buddy. Truth or Dare?" Twilight had an evil grin.    "Ugh! Truth! I'm not going through that." Damn! Why didn't she pick dare? I had something horrible planned. Oh well. I guess I can ask her something and actually get an answer.    "Do you like me yet? As in... That way?"    "Maybe. Truth or Dare?" Twilight didn't think.    "Dare and what does 'maybe' mean?"    "It means maybe. Back to the dare." Twilight decided not to question Pinkie's logic. "So, you like me so much, don't you?" Twilight was shocked.   "Y-yeah... Isn't that truth though?"    "Because if you love me so much..." Twilight's ears perked up. "...Then go ahead and kiss me." Twilight's mouth was now agape. Her mind was racing and her heart was beating faster than ever.    "R-really? Y-you want me to kiss you?"    "If you want to, go ahead. I thought about you telling me that you have a crush on me. You were so happy about spending time with me. Tonight was the most fun I've had in a long time. More fun than a lot of parties that we have been to. Tonight, we laughed, smiled, and had fun. I told you on the hill that this was a sort of experiment. It worked, Twilight. The only thing left to do is kiss. So go ahead."    "W-wow, Pinkie. If you are really serious about this, then I guess I will. Let me go wash my mouth out first. I just ate a burnt cupcake and I don't want my breath to taste like coal." The two mares shared a giggle before Twilight trotted into the washroom. She washed her mouth out and ate a complimentary breath mint.    "OK, Twilight. You can do this. This is something you've wanted, so now you are going to get it." She said to herself. She heard a muffled voice through the door.    "You ready, Twilight?" Pinkie called.    "Yeah, I'm ready!" Twilight turned tot he mirror. "Let's do this." Twilight trotted out of the bathroom attached to Pinkie's bedroom. Pinkie was waiting patiently on the bed. Pinkie gestured for Twilight to come sit on the bed withe her by patting the covers. As Twilight sat, her heart was pounding. Fast. Very fast. Not in a bad way, of course. She was excited. This was her first kiss ever. She hadn't had one before. That was about to change.    "You ready?" Pinkie asked in a low, but happy voice.    "Yep." It was not Twilight who made the first move, it was Pinkie Pie. She thrust herself forward to Twilight, starting the kiss. To Pinkie Pie, it tasted like a mint (Probably because she just had a mint). To Twilight, it tasted like cake, chocolate and cookies. It was great. It tasted great. It felt great. Their tongues wrestled one another as they had each other in a tight embrace as time seemingly stood still. Right then and there, nothing else mattered. Only them.    Needing oxygen, they pulled away, breathing heavily. Their hearts were beating faster than the blink of an eye.    "Wow..." They both said in awe.    "Was that your first kiss?" Twilight asked.    "Yeah. Yours?"    "Yep." Still gasping for air, Twilight was able to mumble something. Pinkie couldn't understand what she was trying to say, but Twilight knew that because of the puzzled look on her face. She tried to say it again. This time was a little clearer. "I think it's about time to get some shut-eye."    "Yeah. I'm worn out"    "So am I. Let's go to bed." Twilight got into the guest bed while Pinkie walked over to Twilight to giver her a goodnight kiss on the lips. Pinkie then walked over to her own bed and got comfy under the covers. She turned blew out the candle which was on her nightstand. Twilight said the first goodnight.    "Goodnight, Pinkie Pie. I love you."    "I love you too, Twilight."    "I've been waiting for you to say that." They both giggled.    "Goodnight, Twilight."    "Goodnight, Pinkie." That night, Twilight dreamed that her and Pinkie were happily married. Since genetics wouldn't allow a foal, they adopted their own. Pinkie Pie had foal-raising skills from when she babysat Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake. They went to see a movie, they got dinner at a fancy restaurant and shared their life. They were happy.    "Twilight?" Twilight heard her name and woke up to see Pinkie Pie by her bed. It was still nighttime, probably around 2:30, so Pinkie must have had a nightmare. "Twilight. I can't sleep. After watching that movie, I'm kinda scared."    "What do you want me to do?" Twilight lazily said, still half asleep.    "Umm... Could you please lay in bed with me? Nothing huge, I just need somepony to comfort me."    "OK, I'd be happy to, Pinkie." Twilight got up from her guest bed and walked over to Pinkie's bed. They both lay down under the covers before sharing a kiss.    "Thanks, Twilight."    "You're welcome, Pinkie. I love you."    "I love you too. Goodnight."    "Goodnight, Pinkie." They fall asleep in five minutes. Happy as can be. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5    When Twilight awoke, it was about 10:00. She part-way opened her eyes to see a pink blur right in front of her. When her vision became clear, she noticed that the pink blur was Pinkie's face, just centimeters from hers.    "Ahh!" Twilight screamed as she jumped back from the surprise.    "Hehehehe! I gotchya! You should have seen the look on your face when you realized it was me! Hehehehe!" Pinkie fell back on the bed and began giggling uncontrollably. Twilight smiled and watched the pink mare. She realized how cute she was when she laughed like that. When she stopped laughing, she continued. "Good morning, Twilight!"    "Good morning, Pinkie Pie." Twilight gave Pinkie a quick kiss on the snout which made Pinkie smile.    "So, Twilight, when are we gonna tell our friends about this?" Pinkie asked. Twilight thought to when she told Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was right. It did work out.    "Whenever you're ready, Pinkie."    "Great! The picnic will be today!"    "Picnic? What's a picnic have to do with telling our friends about our relationship?"    "We make the announcement there, silly!"    "Oh, that makes sense." How will my other friends take this? Oh gosh, I hope *they** don't react badly...* "So, Pinkie. How did you sleep after I got into bed with you? No more nightmares?"    "Nope! I had sweet dreams from there out! Some about gumdrops! Mmmm... Now I want gumdrops!" They both giggled. I guess they couldn't be mad that we're happy together. Pinkie bolted quickly down the stairs and came up with a medium-sized bag of gumdrops and set them on the bed. "Want one?"    "Yes please." Twilight took one and smiled. "Wow, Pinkie! Did you make these?"    "Yep! Secret family recipe!"    "They are really, really good!"    "Want another?"    "No, thank you. I'm fine." And with that, Pinkie Pie blitzkreiged through the bag of gumdrops, not leaving a speck of sugar.    "Yum! I really love gumdrops!"    "I noticed." They both giggled. "So, when do you want the picnic to be today?    "Hmm... Let me think...12:30! At the hill where we had it yesterday."    "Alright, I have to go home and get ready. Could you please invite our friends? I think eating those gumdrops gave you a lot of energy."    "Sure, Twilight! I can speed around town at mach-nine!"    "Really? Mach-nine isn't physically possible for a pony to be able to reach with walking or running speed."    "Oh, really? Is that a bet?"    "No, I just think that-" Twilight was cut off by Pinkie.    "THREE TWO ONE GO!" Pinkie sped off and out of the house. A few seconds later, she came back, carrying: Braeburn? From Appleoosa? Braeburn was dropped in Pinkie's bedroom.    "Could you please take me back to Appleoosa? I was kinda bucking trees when you just picked me up and brought me back to this town," Braeburn said, sounding disgruntled.    "Sure!" And with that, Pinkie sped off with Braeburn and came back to Sugarcube Corner without him.    "Not physically possible, huh?" Pinkie said. Twilight's mouth was agape. That's... Impossible!    "Well, Pinkie, I have to get going. That was an amazing show, I had no idea how you did that. But I need to get ready for the picnic. I'm sure you will do well in inviting our friends."    "I will! Love ya, Twilight!" It was then Pinkie noticed Twilight's mane. "Twilight! Your mane! It's in a wicked frizz! Hehehehehe!!!!" Twilight looked in the mirror behind her.    "Oh my gosh!" She began laughing along with Pinkie. After about a minute of laughing, they stopped and went back to saying goodbye. "I love you too, Pinkie." They shared another kiss, deeper than the one they shared when they got up. "Bye, Pinkie."    "Bye, Twilight! See ya at the picnic!" Twilight departed, walking back to Golden Oaks library when she saw a pink blur blitz past her. Twilight giggled to herself and continued walking to her home. ***************************************    When Twilight arrived home, she was instantaneously showered with questions by Spike. "How was the sleepover? What did you talk about there? What did you do there?"    "I'll tell you in a little bit, Spike. Right now, I need to get showered and ready for another picnic. But it's an interesting story, alright." Twilight got a quick shower and brushed her mane and teeth for the day. After she got back to the main area of the library, the got Spike breakfast and she collected food for the picnic and put it in a basket. It was likely the others would be bringing food as well, but she thought better safe than sorry.    "Twilight, since you look like you're done getting ready, could you tell me what's going on?"    "Alright, spike I'll tell you. But you have to promise not to laugh.    "Promise!"    "Alright. So yesterday, I went to the picnic. Pinkie Pie was the last to get there. But when she arrived, she looked..." She blushed for a minute. "Stunning. I couldn't believe my eyes, Spike. I needed to get it off my chest to somepony, so I told Rainbow Dash. I resolved to tell Pinkie at sunset yesterday. I did so, and she was indecisive at first. She let me have a sleepover for an experiment. We had a pillow fight, watched a scary movie-"    "Can I watch the scary movie?"    "No, Spike."    "Darn."    "So anyways, after the scary movie, we ended up playing 'Truth or Dare'. She realized how much fun we had at the sleepover and... Well... The rest is my business."    "Did you kiss her?" Twilight quickly responded in panic.    "NO!" She began blushing uncontrollably.    "Sure you didn't..." He said in a sarcastic tone. "A panicked 'No' always means yes."    "How would you know that?"    "When being told to read by a  librarian, you accidentally stumble upon romance novels."    "Hey, won't ya look at the time, I gotta get going! Bye, Spike! Waffles are on the table!" Twilight bolted out the door, but came back. "Oh yeah, almost forgot!" She put the magical lock on the fridge. Spike then gave a look of disapproval before Twilight re-departed. ***************************************    Twilight arrived at the picnic to see all of her friends at the hill, some with picnic baskets with the blanket lain down on the hill next to the tree. Pinkie was the first to notice Twilight's arrival.    "Hello, Twilight!"    "Hi, Pinkie! Hello, everypony." Twilight sat down next to Pinkie, noticeably  closer than usual. Rainbow Dash got up and motioned Twilight to come away from the picnic for a bit. Twilight hesitated, but then followed Rainbow to a stream at the base of the hill.    "So, Twilight. Did you tell her?"    "I'll tell you in a little bit. Just sit tight and I'll tell everypony what happened."    "That totally means yes! How did she react?"    "I'll tell you in a little bit!" Twilight then ran back to the picnic and sat back down next to Pinkie. Rainbow Dash came back too, with a knowing look on her face. About halfway through the picnic, Pinkie looked at Twilight and nodded, implying that they should tell their friends.    "Everypony, we have an announcement to make!" Pinkie began. Rainbow Dash looked at Twilight with an even larger knowing grin.    "What's going on, Pinkie?" Rainbow Dash said, almost sarcastically. She knew what was happening.    "Twilight, do you want to tell them?" Pinkie asked Twilight. Twilight blushed.    "Uhh... Actually... Could you please tell them?"    "Sure! Everypony, Twilight and I are in a romantic relationship!" Four gasps and hoof-clapping was heard by them and then Rarity began to congratulate them.    "Oh my stars, darling. That is amazing! When is your first date?"    "Does a sleepover count?" Pinkie asked.    "I guess it does. But oh my goodness, that is wonderful!"    "Yesterday, then!" Multiple questions arose and most of them were answered. The picnic went well, also. Most of the food was great. Except Rainbow Dash's. Rainbow Dash isn't the best chef in the world. Rainbow Dash was the first to depart the picnic.    "I got Wonderbolts practice I need to go to." Rainbow Dash winked at Twilight. "Gotta dash!" And then she left. Rarity was next.    "I really wish I could stay, but I really must catch up on a request for a customer's dress. Twilight, Pinkie Pie. I wish you good luck in your relationship. Have a wonderful day, everypony!" Third was Fluttershy.    "I have to get back home to feed Angel Bunny. I'm already late, so I got to go. Bye, everypony. Congratulations on your relationship!" Applejack was next.    "Ah reckon ah ought tah get back home. Ah promised I'd help Applebloom on her math homework. Congrats to ya two. Have a good day, y'all." Pinkie Pie was last.    "Hey, Twilight. I should really be getting back to Sugarcube Corner. I have a cake I need to help bake for a wedding!"    "I'm sure that the wedding will be great! Especially because you baked the cake!"    "Thanks, Twilight." Pinkie gave Twilight a quick kiss on the lips (Little did they know, Rainbow Dash was watching from a cloud above). Pinkie Pie began to leave.    "Pinkie, wait!"    "Yeah, Twilight?" Twilight blushed as she said:    "Are you free tonight?"    "Sure, Twilight! Were you planning on taking me somewhere?"    "Actually, I was."    "Where are we going? No, wait! Keep it a surprise! I love surprises!"    "I know you do." Twilight smiled and kissed Pinkie goodbye.    "Bye, Twilight. I love ya."    "Love you too, Pinkie. See you tonight." Rainbow Dash was on a cloud, plotting her move to spy on their date.    "Hehehehehe...." Rainbow Dash giggled in a wicked tone.
