Chapter 3: OctaviaView OnlineA Scratch on the CelloChapter 3: OctaviaOctavia was walking home after her time with Vinyl in the cabin had been interrupted by the oncoming darkness of a disappearing sun. She had been very disappointed as she had to plant one last kiss on Vinyl's lips before they went back home. Buck you Celestia! She thought as she said goodbye. Why couldn't you just keep the sun up a bit longer!. As she walked home, she used her mind to recap what had just happened. There was a lot of cuddling and hugging and hoof-holding with the occasional kiss, but Octavia's favorite part was when Vinyl had looked at her after their first kiss. Her eyes had looked like a pair of fresh polished rubies and had conveyed so much love it was impossible to even try to imagine what she was thinking. Octavia though she looked like a total idiot after that kiss, especially because her brain was face-hoofing her from the inside saying: That was very stupid Octavia, do it again. Octavia was so lost in space, she almost ran into a lamppost. Great Octavia! Make an even bigger fool of yourself. She managed to get home in one piece which was a surprise, but an even bigger surprise was laying on her couch when she entered the living room. "Lyra! What in the name of Celestia are you doing on my couch?" Octavia asked in a dangerous voice. "Oh hai there sugar, how was Vinyl?" Lyra's voice was slurred and Octavia realized that Lyra was not herself. "As for what I'm doing on your couch? I have absobuckalutely no idea! Ask me again in the morning!" Oh great! She's drunk! I should have guessed! "How many times have I told you not to drink on a school night?" Octavia said in a motherly tone, checking how drunk she was. "Quit the sarcasm Tavi! Its not funny" Lyra said in a quiet tone before falling off the couch. Good, at least she's not too drunk. She can still tell the difference between sarcasm and seriousness. Octavia helped Lyra back on the couch and told her to rest up before tomorrow. Well this is going to be an interesting night. Octavia thought. Lyra only got drunk when something was about to happen, it was a bit like magic. You never knew what a drunk Lyra would do. Octavia was heading for her bed after telling her parents that Lyra was on the couch when she heard her get up and move towards the front door. Octavia decided to investigate. She put on her North Fillies jacket and went outside, following Lyra as she wandered through the streets. The black jacket provided her with a bit of camouflage in the night. Lyra was heading towards the shopping street. That wasn't good, it was where the gangs hung out. Lyra passed the multiple MareDonalds, Burger Wings and Sub-Hays before finally ending up next to a vegetable mareket. Lyra had stopped and was looking at a group of teenage colts with a murderous smile. Octavia got behind cover in fear of being seen. Come on Lyra! Don't do anything stupid. Of course Octavia knew that that a drunk Lyra would be doing the most stupid thing she could, and she was right. "Hello boys!" She said smiling like a psychopath. "You wouldn't happen to know a certain mare called Bonbon now would you? The gang looked at her confused. Then their leader stood up. He was a very big and muscular stallion. "Yeah we know Bon, why?" "Its seems you tried to lay your hooves on her a couple of days ago." Lyra's smile was growing wider. "Yeah, so why are you here?" The big one asked. My god! This one is dumber than he looks! Octavia thought as Lyra got really close to the group's leader and simply said "I'm her Marefriend motherbucker!" Hell broke loose and after a minute of intense fighting, all 6 colts were on the floor and unconscious while Lyra dusted herself off and wiped the blood off her hooves. "You buckers better not touch her again" She told the 6 unconscious bodies. "Because next time, I'll down an extra cup of wine and you'll see how much mercy I give to idiots like you" Lyra started walking back the way she came as if nothing had ever happened. I should probably head home if I don't want to blow my cover. Octavia thought before galloping in front of Lyra and back into her house. Octavia jumped into her bed and thought of what had just happened. then she told herself that if those guys had even lain a hoof on Vinyl, they would be a lot more than just unconscious. Octavia didn't take kindly to people harassing Vinyl, especially now. The last thing she thought of as she dozed off to the land of Princess Luna was the cadavers of anypony who got near Vinyl. Octavia woke up to the annoying sound of her alarm clock. Goddamit, I really need to destroy that thing someday. She got out of bed and trotted to the bathroom. Her mane was a complete mess, as usual, so she decided to take a quick shower and then go check on Lyra. She turned on the shower, letting the warm water flow over her, untangling her mane and washing off all the dirt that had accumulated yesterday. After her insanely relaxing shower, she trotted downstairs to find a very hung over Lyra. "Well good morning there you drunkard! Get ready for school, I'm leaving in 20 minutes" Octavia told Lyra as she headed towards the kitchen to pour herself a bowl of Braeburn's Raisin Bran, her favorite cereal. "Ummbleahhrgggg" Was Lyra's only response. Once Octavia was ready for school and Lyra had taken some Iboprhoofens for her headache, they headed outside. Lyra explained what had happened the night before. "Well I was kind of partying with Bon and a whole bunch of random ponies when I saw the time and decided it was time to go home. Bon wanted to walk back with me to make sure I was gonna be alright, but I said no because I knew she wanted to keep partying. So I was walking home after a beer or two... Well more like eleven or twelve, and I felt dizzy. The closest house was yours, so I came in and lay on your couch until you got back like 6 minutes later." Lyra had summarized her whole night into a paragraph of utter confusion. "Yeaahhhhhh, I'm just gonna pretend I understood what you just said." Octavia said, rolling her eyes. "Shouldn't you go grab your school stuff and tell Bon that you're alright. She must be worried sick." "Oh, Yeah that would be a good idea, see you later at school" Lyra said, suddenly realizing how worried Bonbon must be. She teleported off, which left Octavia to walk on her own. That was something she usually did everyday, but now it felt as if something was missing. That something teleported right into her and accidently tackled her to the ground. "Goddamit Vinyl, could you at least watch where you teleport?!" Octavia yelled at Vinyl, who was now smiling very brightly in her face. "Well good morning to you too Octavia" She responded, softly kissing her. "I missed you too" How can she stay so calm all the time! Ugh. Octavia thought as she pushed Vinyl off her, got up and dusted herself off. "Come on, Vinyl. Let's get to school before you cause a world threatening disaster" Octavia said jokingly, then she hugged Vinyl and together they headed for school. They finally arrived at school, met up with Lyra and Bonbon, went to class, fell asleep, and woke up just in time for the bell to ring. Looking at the weariness on everypony's face told Octavia that she and Lyra were not the only ones to have gone to bed quite late. The only one who looked decently awake was Vinyl, but you could never really tell with her. She was quite good at hiding certain things. When lunchtime finally came around. The four friends sat down at a table in the court yard and ate their tulip sandwiches. Vinyl had brought some oatmeal chip cookies and they all shared a boxful. Then they told each other what they had done yesterday evening. Lyra told Bonbon what she had done, which got her a hoof in the face and a hug immediately following it. Then Lyra turned to Octavia and told her that she knew she had been there all along. Octavia wasn't surprised. Then it was Bonbon's turn. She told Lyra how the rest of the party had gone and how many ponies passed out. Finally, it was Vinyl's turn. "Oh, I just like studied up on my Music Theory and then went to bed." Octavia could tell that was a lie. First of all, Vinyl never studied and second of all, music class wasn't until tomorrow, so there was no point in studying for a class you haven't even started yet. So Octavia looked questioningly over at Vinyl. Vinyl knew there was no point in lying even more, so she gave Octavia an "I'll tell you later" look before finishing her last bite of sandwich. The bell rang and all four friends stood up and headed for their next class; Ethics and Religious Culture, aka. the most boring class in the universe. For an hour and a half, Octavia took notes about why it wasn't polite to eat with your hooves, Lyra thought about going back home and listening to music, Bonbon thought about going back to her parent's candy shop and working there for the rest of the day, while Vinyl thought about how she was going to tell Octavia that she was an online DJ that had an average of 410'000 views every concert and that her popularity was growing at an alarming rate. The class finally finished with the teacher stating what homework had to be done for the next class. The final class whizzed by like a blur, Octavia had started arguing with her own brain again. I hope that what Vinyl has to say is nothing bad She thought. Oh Come on Octy, she didn't tell anypony about it and you're hoping for good news? Her brain said mockingly. I never said good news. I said "It's nothing bad." Octavia was getting mad at her own brain now. Why are you always so optimistic? Her brain asked her. You're gonna need to think negatively someday! The battle just kept going on inside Octavia for the whole entire class. The final bell of the day rang and one could almost hear the sigh of 200 students having survived another day of school. This time, It was Octavia who took Vinyl by the hoof and started dragging her off school grounds. Once they were out of the school Octavia asked Vinyl what the whole dodging Lyra and Bonbon thing was about. "Here, It's better I show you what that's all about, then maybe you can do tonight's set with me!" Vinyl sounded exited, like a filly about to show something really cool to their parents. So Vinyl and Octavia walked side by side, on their way to Vinyl's house, talking and laughing and enjoying their day in general. Author's Note So yeahh! Chapter 4: VinylView OnlineA Scratch on the CelloChapter 4: VinylVinyl was exited. Here she was walking home with Octavia and preparing herself for a duo set with her. This was going to turn out great. If everything goes as well as all the other times, Octavia will have a ton of people listening to her. Maybe she can even start her own livestreams. Vinyl pondered that as they approached her house. "Ummm, Vinyl sweetie. We're here." Octavia had just stopped Vinyl from crashing into a wall. "Maybe you should stop thinking and start watching where you walk." "Ummmm, Ok sure." Vinyl responded as she clumsily opened her front door and told Octavia to come inside. "Just wait until I get my thing started. Then you'll understand why I'm so disconnected from the real world." They walked Into Vinyl's room together. Vinyl gave Octavia a quick kiss before running around and plugging Ethernet cables, HDMI cables and many more into all their respective slots. Vinyl told Octavia to press Ctrl Alt S on her laptop, which she did immediately. The screen lit up with a message saying. SENDING MESSAGE TO ALL NETWORKS FOUND "Vinyl, what did I just do?" Octavia asked confused. "You just told everypony that we are about to make some magix!" Vinyl responded in a bizarre accent. "Ok, no. Don't even try to imitate that good for nothing fashion designer." Octavia said, recognizing the voice from all the CoverMare and Breaboy magazine commercials. "Sorry... That was terrible" Vinyl said, plugging in the last cable and trotting over to her laptop, turned on her software. Immediately, the Live button started flashing green and people started flowing in to the stream like ants. 1,000... 4,000... 16,000... 100,000... 500,000... Vinyl watched Octavia's mouth get bigger and bigger as the numbers started rising extremely fast. Vinyl decided to turn back to the screen. "Good afternoon everypony!!! This is DJ PON3 and I am here to drop some massive scale bass here! ARE YOU READY??" The comments section exploded and Vinyl's eyes widened when she saw that her viewer count had reached 1,000,000. She tried to pull it of as if a million was normal and put a track onto her virtual DJ set. Immediately, WUBZ filled the room. "So what do you think Tavi?" Vinyl said muting her microphone and lowering the volume in the room. "YOU'RE A DJ?!!!??" Octavia yelled so hard Vinyl winced. "It's pretty cool that you get 1,000,000 viewers, but why a DJ??" "Because I like doing it, just like you enjoy the Cello." Vinyl responded. I should have known, Octavia hates modern music. Vinyl thought, but she was interrupted by Octavia asking a weird question. "Can I join you in this act of disgracing all of pony kind??" Octavia asked, winking at her marefriend. Vinyl's mouth fell open. Octavia kissed Vinyl again. "You heard me DJ PON3" At this point Vinyl wasn't even sure if she was joking or not. Octavia did seem a little bit interested, and the fact she wasn't ripping Vinyl's throat out for being a DJ was also a good sign, so Vinyl accepted and decided to continue the stream with Octavia Cohosting. The rest of the stream went by very well. Especially when Vinyl stated mixing an Orchestra piece and Octavia was giving her hints about what would sound good. Her hints were mostly along the sides of: "Don't drop the bass, You'll ruin the violin's entrance." At which Vinyl proceeded to dropping the bass. When the stream had finished, both Vinyl and Octavia were exhausted. They shut everything down before crashing onto the couch together. They snuggled for the following half hour and when Octavia finally had to go, Vinyl kissed her and whispered the three words Octavia would never forget. "I Love You". Once Octavia had left, Vinyl thought about those word, she pondered what they meant. Tired after the long day, she stopped at the conclusion that they were the three words that could most accurately tell Octavia how she felt about her. She mentally tried to stop thinking about it. She said she loved you too. That means she wants this, maybe even more than I do. With that thought in mind, Vinyl drifted off to sleep and dreamt of her beautiful marefriend. Vinyl woke up to a notification ringtone on her phone. She looked over at her alarm clock. It was 6:42 in the morning, she was up 15 minutes early. Vinyl cursed at her phone before checking the notification. It was an E-Mail. Dear DJ PON3 We heard you perform yesterday and would like you to do another live set, just this time, in our Bar, Hell's Demons here in Canterlot. All expenses are paid and you would receive a final salary of 16,000 bits. You are allowed to bring one guest DJ. We understand that you are underage, but we can bend rules. Especially for a DJ like you. Please respond to confirm for this weekend and we will send you the rest of the details. We hope you accept Your friend: Million Maker "OH MY GAAAWWWWWDDDDDDDD!!!!" Vinyl yelled so loud, the ponies in canterlot must have confirmed she got the E-Mail. Hell's Demons was the second biggest Bar in Canterlot. It cost ponies hundreds of bits to just enter the place. Octavia needed to know this. They where going to Canterlot together this weekend. Whether she liked it or not. The only thing Vinyl could think about on the way to school was how she was going to tell Octavia, and of curse, What she would do with 16,000 bits! As she headed for her class, she noticed a big bunch of her class, including Lyra and Bonbon, surrounding one pony, a gray mare with weird eyes and bubbles as a cutie mark. A new student. "Well this is going to be interesting" Said a sweet voice behind Vinyl. "We have a new student to deal with." Vinyl turned around and Tackle-Hugged Octavia. "Tavi, I have something to tell you." Vinyl said with a grin. "We're going to canterlot." Author's Note Well Well Well, lookie here. TheOriginalThundersky released a new fucking chapter that took ages to make. No seriously, Sorry about that guys. I kinda stopped writing for a days because I needed to finish my PMV, Yes, I also do PMV as well as write, admin on a page. Chapter 5: OctaviaView OnlineA Scratch on the CelloChapter 5: OctaviaOctavia’s first thoughts about Vinyl’s declaration were: Hello there beautiful, then Shut up brain, and finally Wait, did she say we were going to Canterlot? “Canterlot?” Octavia asked, uncertain of what she had heard. “Why?” “Well first of all because we got invited to DJ at Hell’s Demons!!” Vinyl grin was getting wider and wider after every word. “And secondly, we’re getting all expenses paid plus a salary of 16,000 bits!” Something inside Octavia’s head went BOOM as the realization dawned upon her. Going to Canterlot is a big deal by itself, not only was Vinyl bringing her there, but they were going to perform live at the second biggest bar in Canterlot. Just to top it off, they were also getting paid an insane amount of bits for it! I bet the beds in Canterlot are really nice and comfortable Octavia’s brain told her. I bet they are She responded, then, I really need to stop talking to myself and answering afterwards. Her brain ignored her train of thoughts and continued talking, and I bet that Vinyl’s gonna be really excited after such a big performance. Octavia could see where this was headed; or she could just be exhausted. That ended her conversation with herself quite quickly. “Hey Tavi, Earth to Tavi, Anyone in there” Vinyl’s voice shattered all of Octavia’s thoughts. “We’re going to Canterlot!!” Octavia half squealed, then she blushed. Octavia never squealed, she usually kept her calm about everything. “Umm, I mean great! Canterlot is great this time of the year! Now GET OFF ME!!” She said calmly, or tried… It is not easy to regain a proper composure while shoving a unicorn off of you. “We’ll talk about it later” Vinyl decided. “For now, let’s go say hi to this new student.” The crowd around the new student had slowly dispersed while Vinyl and Octavia were dusting themselves off. The couple approached the now lonely gray mare. Octavia decided to take the lead, since Vinyl’s social skills weren’t exactly very good. “Hey there” Octavia said warmly, holding out a hoof for the strange pegasus to shake. “I’m Octavia, and this is my friend Vinyl” “Heyy” Vinyl smiled and waved awkwardly behind Octavia. “Hello, my name is ummm, Derpy!” The gray mare responded. She had a very sweet voice, it was just a bit slurred and had a hint of nervousness in it. “Well Derpy, if you ever need help with something or just want to hang out, don’t be afraid to ask.” Octavia said kindly. “Alright, do you know what class we have in first?” Derpy asked “Yeah, here wait” Octavia stumbled with her planner and looked at the paper real fast. “We have ancient Equestrian in first and then music!” Seeming pleased, Derpy politely thanked Vinyl and Octavia and flew off in the direction of sports class. Octavia shrugged and started walking away from Derpy, towards Ancient Equestrian, dragging a confused Vinyl behind her. When they entered the class, Lyra and Bonbon were nowhere to be found. “Where are Lyra and Bonbon?” Vinyl asked. “I don’t know” Octavia answered. She had been wondering the same thing. “Last time I saw them, they were with Derpy. I’ll text them afterwards.” Suddenly, Vinyl winced. “Vinyl, what’s wrong?” Octavia asked, suddenly worried. “Nothing, it’s just… I had like a magic spark all of a sudden.” Vinyl sounded worried “What’s a magic spar-” Octavia wanted to ask, but the teacher had interrupted her to start the class. Octavia looked over at her marefriend, but Vinyl gave her an ‘I’ll tell you later’ look. Class seemed to go on forever, as it always does, but every time Octavia looked over to Vinyl, she looked as if she was concentrating, buy not on the class. What is she doing? Octavia wondered. Does it have anything to do with the ‘Magic spark’? At one point, Octavia had just blocked out the teacher, she was deep in thought. Maybe a magic spark is bad and Vinyl is in pain right now. She looked over to Vinyl, who had just started chuckling. Ok, scratch that, maybe… Oh I don’t know. Octavia was snapped out of her daydream by one of her classmates elbowing her. She looked up at the teacher who was looking at her expectantly. “Umm, sorry could you repeat that.” Octavia asked, realizing he had just asked her a question. The teacher sighed. “I said that we would have a question that would lead in to next class’s lesson. I had asked, in the sentence ‘We are in the year 4998 A.H.’ what does A.H. stand for?” Octavia knew this because Lyra kept talking about it when she was drunk, her one hidden secret, Lyra was going to enjoy next class. “After Humans” Octavia responded smiling at the many arguments to come between Lyra and the teacher next class. The bell rang and everypony packed up their stuff and started walking towards the exit. Vinyl and Octavia were finally alone outside. “Soo, what is this ‘magic spark’?” Octavia asked. “Oh, that’s just when all of the magic in a unicorn’s body peaks for an unknown reason. Usually it means something big is going to happen.” Vinyl said, getting Octavia all worried again. “But what I had wasn’t a magic peak, it was Lyra activating the telepathic link she had placed on me this summer. We had no idea how to use it, but she figured it out and told me where she was.” Octavia let out a sigh of relief. “So where are Lyra and Bonbon?” She asked. “They’re with Derpy in the locker rooms, it seems they have something pretty cool set up.” Vinyl said with a glint in her eye. This is going to be just great! Octavia thought, following Vinyl to the locker rooms. They entered the locker rooms, it smelled the same as all the other locker rooms in the world. Like sweaty teenage fillies. They looked around but didn’t see Lyra, Bonbon or Derpy anywhere. Then they heard a whisper. “Pssst, come here!” That was definitively Lyra, the pair moved towards the sound, they found the three ponies sitting in the shower area. There was some sort of hologram of the school, and a couple of green and yellow dots moved around the school. There was also one red dot in the office. “What is this?” Octavia asked quietly. “It’s the school” Derpy answered “We can see and hear everything” Octavia was confused. “Why?” She asked. “Just to see what’s going on” Lyra said. “So we had something to do while skipping a class as boring as Ancient Equestrian.” “Just to have you know Lyra, we are learning about humans next Ancient Equestrian class.” Octavia said teasingly. Lyra got a wild look in her eye. “Humans?” She asked in a dangerous tone. “Oh god, not this again!” Bonbon tackled Lyra to the ground and started to talk to her about humans. Lyra seemed to calm down. “Try not to talk about humans to her when she’s not drunk.” Bonbon said, flashing a murderous glance at Octavia. “Hey Hey HEY! Calm down” Vinyl yelled out, protectively wrapping her hooves around Octavia protectively. “We’re all friends here. This was all happening very fast, and Derpy just smiled at them while thinking about her past. She had a short flashback. Derpy closed her eyes, trying not to remember. The memories became stronger. She pushed them away and opened her eyes. Bonbon’s eyes widened as she saw Derpy rise off the ground and open her eyes. They were glowing yellow. “ENOUGH!!!” Derpy yelled. Everyone turned around as Derpy spread her wing and a wave of pure power spread out over the room. The next thing they knew, everyone was on the ground and Derpy was standing in front of them with that weird grin. “Did I miss something?” She asked. Everyone was too stunned to answer, so they simply stood up and started walking to music class, but something had changed. The bond between the two couples had grown deeper, and they knew it, they were just too afraid to admit that a little gray pegasus could have such power. As they were walking, Octavia took Vinyl’s hoof. “Thanks for sticking up for me back there.” She said. “Hey, no problem” Vinyl answered. They shared a quick kiss before moving on to music class. “So, are you going to ignore instruments and just do a buckload of theory like you did last year?” Octavia asked Vinyl. “Nah!” Vinyl responded “I might just try the Cello!” “You playing the Cello?” Octavia laughed “I’d love to see that happen.” Luckily for Vinyl, the teacher did have a spare Cello and Vinyl decided to fulfill her promise and learn to play the large wooden string instrument. At first it was complicated because she couldn’t handle the bow well, but after a few tweaks and many hints from Octavia, Vinyl managed to play her first note, a steady G. Music class ended too quickly. They got out of class and went to eat lunch. The four friends decided to sit with Derpy, who was strangely eating three muffins, a carrot muffin, a hay muffin and a chocolate chip muffin. “So Derpy, how’s the saxophone going?” Octavia asked her. “It’s going really good, I’ve been playing it for 6 years now!” Derpy answered biting into her hay muffin. “Wow, that’s great!” Vinyl said “I’ve been playing nothing for 6 years, but if someone brings up theory, I can answer almost everything.” “I hate theory” Derpy said. “It’s all mixed up letters and things. I just like playing.” Bonbon sighed “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I just wait for class to be over and play on my phone or help Lyra with her lyre.” At this, Bonbon poked Lyra and they started laughing. Math was next and the teacher decided to watch a movie with the class. The five friends were starting to like this teacher more and more. The teacher looked extremely surprised when seeing Derpy though. He stared at her throughout the whole movie, he looked like he wanted to say something but knew he couldn’t. At the end of the class, the teacher gave homework, but not a lot. Just enough for the ponies to start getting an idea of what was going to be happening in the first semester. Their last class was sports, which was quite enjoyable because they were playing dodgeball and the two teams had 2 unicorns 3 pegasi and 5 earth ponies. Which allowed for many strategic possibilities. Vinyl decided to take offensive with Octavia, Carrot Top, Bonbon and Berry Punch while Lyra took the defensive with Derpy, Pinkie Pie, Thundersky and Anon Wings. The game lasted a long time, but the other team won when Pinkie caught all 12 balls at once and threw them at the other team, but Trixie used her magic to slow them down. The whole team caught the balls and pinkie was out. After that, everything spiraled downwards and the other team won. Vinyl and Octavia were walking back after the dodgeball game and talking about what they were going to do in Canterlot when Lyra and Bonbon jumped them. “You two are going to Canterlot too!?” Bonbon asked. “Well, yeah” Vinyl responded “You two going also, Why?” “Bon managed to save up enough money to buy a trip to Canterlot for the weekend.” Lyra said quietly. “I’m paying for the food.” Vinyl and Octavia looked at each other and nodded. “Don’t worry, we got you two covered.” Later that night, Vinyl sent an e-mail to Million Maker asking him for a down payment of 500 bits for their friends, and confirming the performance with Octavia. A couple of minutes later, Vinyl got a call from Million Maker. “Hello?” Vinyl asked picking up the phone. “Hey DJ PON3?” Said a rich voice from the other side of the phone. “Hello Million Maker, are we good for the weekend?” “Yes, of course, and about your two friends, we got them covered, no down payment needed.” “Great” Vinyl responded happily. “Alright, see you tomorrow at the Ponyville airfield.” Million Maker hung up after telling him the tickets would be sent by e-mail. Vinyl checked her e-mail and found four tickets on a MareBus A-380. She checked the class and called Octavia. Meanwhile, Octavia was practicing the Cello when she got a call. She picked up and heard Vinyl talking excitedly on the phone line. “Slow down there sweetie!” Octavia almost yelled. “What were you saying?” Vinyl took a deep breath and answered. “Octavia! We’re flying first class tomorrow!” “What?!” Octavia had never flown first class, her family was never rich enough to afford it. “That’s amazing! What about Lyra and Bonbon though?” “Million decided they could tag along too, so we’ll tell them tomorrow that they should leave their plans for Saturday afternoon open.” Vinyl said. “Vinyl, this is amazing! If you were here right now! I would kiss you!” Octavia heard the line go dead. Oh God! No, NONONONONO! I said something wrong what did I do!? Octavia started panicking when suddenly, WHOMP! A mass of white fur tackle-hugged her from behind! “Hi” Vinyl said! “I’m here, do I get a kiss?” Instead of a kiss, Vinyl got a slap in the face. Octavia looked at Vinyl’s puppy eyes and gave in. They shared a long kiss before Octavia had to push Vinyl off her for the third time that day. “Come on” She said “Let’s get ready for Canterlot.” Author's Note Well Well Well, What have we here! I love you all and prepare for the competition results! -TheOriginalThundersky Chapter 6: Canterlot - Part 1 Vinyl and Octavia were ready, all their bags were packed and sitting next to the door, now it was just a matter of surviving one more school day and they were off to Canterlot with Lyra and Bonbon. Vinyl had returned home later the night before to get her bag set up, but had again magically popped up in the morning and plopped her bag next to Octavia's. They were now walking to school together. "I can't believe it's already Friday!" Vinyl said excitedly "We have our big gig at Hell's Demons tomorrow!" "Yes" Octavia said calmly "The performance at which I will play the Cello live while you ruin it!" "Hey! Come on, Dubstep isn't that bad" Vinyl exclaimed "It really is sweetie" Octavia responded, laughing on the inside at the incredulous look on Vinyl's face.] "But..." Vinyl was about to start arguing when Octavia interrupted her. "We're at the school Vinyl..." She said teasingly "You should probably get ready for class." "Ugh, fine..." Vinyl responded. "HELLOOOOO FRIENDS" Lyra's voice rung out over the whole school "Oh, just great" Octavia sighed "Lyra's drunk again" Lyra was in fact drunk again, she was stumbling across the campus, supported by Bonbon. The other students were all staring at the couple and whispering among themselves. As Lyra and Bonbon got closer, you could see that they had been up all of last night. "What were you guys doing last night?" Vinyl asked "Getting ready for Canterlot while watching Lyra get drunk" Bonbon responded "Drunking Smtin while hatching Bonhon Pacj por Canterhot" Lyra mumbled! "She said that she was drinking while watching me pack" Bonbon told Vinyl and Octavia. "How did you?" Vinyl and Octavia asked at the same time. "You start to learn the language when you have to be with her every weekend!" Bonbon said grimly. "Yeah well, let's just get to class." Octavia said The school day passed relatively fast, which the four friends were very happy about. They left the school and split up, the now hung-over Lyra and Bonbon would head to Bon's house to grab their bags and get some Iboprhoofens for Lyra's headache. Vinyl would follow Octavia back to her home to grab all their bags. Vinyl then teleported herself and the bags to the airport and decided on retrying the spell. She warned Octavia and concentrated. Luckily the VIP lobby was empty because Vinyl's horn started glowing and Octavia appeared out of thin air again. "Here" Octavia had come prepared and handed Vinyl a Grainola bar as she walked towards the terminal. "Thanks" Vinyl swallowed the bar whole, already feeling less tired than she was when she had last performed the spell. They waited another twenty minutes for Lyra and Bonbon. Time went by and the two finally arrived, 4.20 minutes before departure. The four friend got onto the plane and where immediately ushered into private cabins. Each cabin had a big chair that could fold into a bed, a flatscreen TV and a window into the other rooms. There was also a panel with different foods and drinks to order. All you needed to do was tap the panel with a hoof and the food would be delivered. "This is awesome!!!" Vinyl said, opening the window to Octavia's cabin and taking out her laptop. "You're right" said Bonbon, pressing the panel, ordering a Diet StallionUp. Lyra just lowered the seat and lay down, clutching her face with her hooves, waiting for the Iboprhoofens to kick in. The flight was excellent, for their first time flying 1st class, the four ponies were definitively not disappointed. Unfortunately, it was a short flight, and soon Lyra, Bonbon, Vinyl and Octavia had to fasten their seatbelts and prepare for landing. The landing went very smoothly and the plane taxied off the runway and to its allocated terminal. Whilst everypony had to exit through the main entrance, the group was led to the back and straight to a limousine. Their luggage was being loaded on quickly. "Man I love this!" Vinyl exclaimed. "We're being treated like Fancy Pants or Photo Finish, like all of the celebrities." "Well you'd better enjoy it while it lasts!" Octavia told her, getting into the very long car. "After this weekend, it's back to normal life." "Normal life plus 16000 bits" Vinyl responded grinning. "Vinyl, how are you so optimistic?" Bonbon asked. "I don't know Bon" Vinyl responded jokingly "Maybe I just know how to enjoy life." Ever since the incident in the locker room, Vinyl and Bonbon have been teasing each other a lot more. Lyra's hangover had finally passed, she had been quiet for most of the ride, but now that her head wasn't killing her, she managed to talk. "So, what hotel are we staying at?" asked Lyra, looking up from a seemingly interesting book entitled '50 shades of hay' "Some sort of fancy one by the bar." Vinyl responded. She had been to busy preparing for the trip to look at the hotel in which they were staying. The hotel was a lot more than 'just a sort of fancy one'. The reception desk itself was bigger than Octavia's kitchen. Suspended in mid-air was the biggest chandelier any of the friends had ever seen. The light reflected off it in such ways that the whole thing looked like a rainbow radiating light across the whole entrance area. "Woah" Vinyl exclaimed. "This place is huge" The others were too awestruck to respond. "DJ PON3" a familiar voice called across the lobby. Million maker was standing there, surrounded by ponies holding out microphones, trying to take pictures or simply trying to get a better look at him. He had two ponyguards at his sides who were now clearing the way for Vinyl and her friends. "Pleased to meet you PON3" Million Maker said, holding out a hoof. Vinyl was in shock, then she snapped out of it. "Oh, no" She responded shaking the millionaire's hoof. "Call me Vinyl" "Alright Vinyl, I'm assuming this is Octavia" He said, shaking Octavia's hoof. "Pleased to meet you Sir" Octavia said shakily. "Please, call me Mill" He said "Shall we head inside?" He added, gesturing to the private room behind him. "I don't see why not" Vinyl said. This is going to be quite a weekend! Vinyl thought, following Million Maker and her friends into the room. Once inside, Million gestured for them to sit down. He closed the door and ripped off his suit. The four ponies stared at him questioningly. "Ugh, I hate these suits, always so itchy and hot" He mumbled to himself. He looked over at the four friends. "Oh, sorry, I should probably explain to you that I don't like the fancy things in Canterlot, all the ponies in this City are crazy with their little champagne glasses and boring parties. That's why I invited you over, I'm hoping you can show these idiots what it is to have a good time." "No prob Mill" Vinyl said winking "I know exactly what to do!" "Yeah" Octavia snapped back at her "You're going to ruin perfectly good Orchestral music." "Octavia" Million said grinning. "Yes" She asked "You're probably going to like it here." He said his grin getting bigger and bigger. Lyra was the first one to catch on and fell on the floor giggling uncontrollably. Vinyl stifled a laugh and secretly brohoofed Million and Bonbon.exe was not responding. "What?" Octavia asked confused. "I don't get it" "Its ok Tavi!" Vinyl said hugging her "You don't need to get it." Everyone started laughing harder. After several hours of talking and arranging, the four friends were finally led to their rooms, were they dropped off their bags and got dressed to go sightseeing for an hour before meeting up at the hotel's restaurant. There were two rooms, both had two king sized beds, two flatscreen TV's a great view at the Canterlot castle and another food panel, only with more choices. Vinyl and Octavia only dropped off their bags and started to head out. Lyra and Bonbon on the other hand jumped straight to the panel and ordered themselves some drinks, Million had made an alcohol exception and tipped the waitresses so that Lyra could have her fair share. Whilst Lyra and Bonbon were getting themselves drunk as humans, Vinyl and Octavia decided to head to the Canterlot Museum of Classical Music. "Do we really have to go to that museum?" Vinyl whined as they walked hoof in hoof through the streets of Canterlot. "Yes!" Octavia replied sharply "If you're going to ruin my music tomorrow, you might as well pay for it." "Ughhh!" Vinyl moaned, they were now approaching the museum and Vinyl could almost feel the boringness coming from the- Wait, is that a club?! Vinyl thought hearing the familiar sound of a bass coming from a nearby building. "Don't even think about it!" Octavia said dragging him towards the museum. After 45 minutes of boring boards and glum musicians, Octavia finally gave up hope on Vinyl and they started heading back to the hotel for dinner. They met up with a slightly tipsy Lyra and a very hungry looking Bonbon. "Sooo, how was the museum?" Lyra asked Vinyl teasingly. "Oh god! Don't even mention it, I swear to Celestia I will rip off your head!" Vinyl said, sulking. "It was amazing!" Octavia said, teasingly pushing Vinyl out of the way. "Hey!" Vinyl said, hitting the wall and falling to the floor. After a couple of minutes walking through the impossibly long corridors, the group finally got to the hotel restaurant. They were seated and given appetizers. After a massive buffet, the group walked out of the fancy room filled to the brink and ready to go to sleep. Vinyl and Octavia said goodnight to Lyra and Bonbon before heading into the warm room. "Well, I'm going to take a shower" Octavia told Vinyl before walking into the bathroom. Seconds later, she popped her head back out. "When's the last time you had one?" She asked the white mare, who was already getting ready to slip into bed. "Umm" Vinyl said thoughtfully "I don't remember?" "FOR CELESTIA'S SAKE! GET IN THE SHOWER!!!!" Octavia's scream must have been heard across the whole hotel. "With you?" Vinyl asked teasingly. Octavia thought about it for a second, seriously considering it. "No" She declared. "After me". Vinyl looked disappointed, but did as she was told. She waited until Octavia had finished with her shower before entering the bathroom. She climbed into the shower and turned the water on. Meanwhile, Octavia was slipping into her bed, wondering how Vinyl could survive so long without washing herself. I wonder how her mane looks when its wet? Her brain asked itself. OH GOD, not this again. Octavia hated it when her brain started fantasizing about different things. She needed to get her mind off vinyl... I wonder what Lyra and Bonbon are doing? A bump and a squeal of happiness confirmed her suspicions. Actually, better not go there, she thought before turning around and laying her head against the pillow. A long couple of minutes later, Vinyl walked out of the bathroom. Octavia turned around to look at her and froze when she saw Vinyl's mane. Instead of it being spiky, her mane was flowing down her body and curved, twisting into that adorable little curl at the end of it. Goddamn she's beautiful! This time, Octavia could in no way disagree with her brain. "Vinyl! You're hot" Octavia blurted out accidently, immediately blushing after having realized what she had said. "Well thank you there missy!" Vinyl smiled back teasingly "Don't you worry, it'll be back to normal tomorrow morning" Vinyl smiled and slipped into bed, closing the light behind her. I wish she had her mane like that more often! Octavia thought, then her brain decided to come back. Hey.. You should get Vinyl over here... You really need to get laid! Ok, for Octavia that was crossing the line. SHUT UP!!! I'm not going to have sex with Vinyl yet! We've only been together for a week! Octavia tried to go to sleep, but images of Vinyl next to her just kept popping up in her head. Although it wouldn't be bad to cuddle for the night. Octavia settled on that. "Hey Vinyl, it's kinda col-" before she could finish her phrase Vinyl was there, hugging her and burying her muzzle into Octavia's chest. "I love you Tavi" Vinyl said, laying her head back. "I love you too" Octavia responded, a warm and fuzzy feeling spreading out over her body. They fell asleep, holding each other lovingly, lulled by the sweet feeling of love and knowing that tomorrow they had another day to spend together in Canterlot.

Chapter 8: The Canterlot HangoverView OnlineA Scratch on the CelloChapter 8: The Canterlot HangoverVinyl woke up with a headache, looking over to the other side of the bed, she smiled weakly at the sight of Octavia with messy hair. Slowly getting up, so as not to disturb the sleeping gray pony. Vinyl had woken up with hangovers many times before and had learned to handle them quite well. She automatically headed to the bathroom to get some water on her face. Once she had finished, she started heading to the kitchen. Food always helped her get her mind together. "UGGHHH" Vinyl heard Octavia waking up. Well crap, here we go! She thought, heading to the bedroom with a cup of tea and a cold pack. "Morning Tavs" Vinyl said, laying back down on the bad and handing Octavia her tea. "Heeaaad huurttt" Octavia moaned, slowly taking the cup and letting Vinyl place the ice pack on her forehead. "Shhh, I know... Just lay back. I'll go get Lyra, she's the expert on this." Vinyl got up and quickly kissed Octavia before walking out and heading to the next room. The second she walked in, Vinyl knew that Lyra was the wrong person to ask for help. She was still leaning over the toilet, supported only by Bonbon. Bonbon was talking in a soothing voice and Lyra was just completely zoned out. "Sooo I'm guessing now's not the best time to ask for Lyra's help with Tavi?" Vinyl said knowingly. Bonbon looked up at Vinyl and raised her eyebrows. "You don't say?? I think she looks just fine!" Bonbon said sarcastically. "I think Lyra went a bit overboard when she drank almost half of the hand sanitizer product when the food desk closed" This time there was no sarcasm in her voice. "Alrighty then, I'll just get back to Octavia. See you in 2 hours" Vinyl responded. She walked out and headed back to the hotel room. Vinyl had been helping Octavia back to a normal state for the past hour now. At this point she had given up on talking with Octavia since she kept drifting in and out of dreamland. So the only reasonable thing left to do was to watch TV. She started scanning through the TV channels when she stopped dead in her tracks. It was the Canterlot News. There have been reports of a stampede at yesterday's bar "Hell's Angels". Vinyl Scratch, or as you may know her DJPON3 was performing live for the first time and the bar was so full that ponies started trying to force their way into the bar. If you do not already know, Canterlot's new favorite DJ will be returning to her hometown later today, don't miss the star on her way out of the city! Vinyl turned off the TV. "Vinyl??" Octavia's voice came through from under the covers. "Yeah Tavi?" Vinyl asked, cuddling up with the heap of covers surrounding Octavia. "Are we on the news?" "Yeah... We'll have some company on the way back to ponyville" Vinyl said, slowly slipping under the covers and cuddling with the gray pony underneath. "Ummm Vinyl?" Came Octavia's voice, sounding a bit hoarse. "Yeah?" "Your hooves are cold..." Octavia said, slowly slipping out of the covers and falling off the bed. Just as she was about to hit the floor, she was caught by a soft blue aura. Vinyl's face poked out on top of the bed. "Jeez Tavi, what's with you and falling off the beds in Canterlot?" She asked, playfully poking her. "Oh shut up Vinyl... It's your fault" Octavia responded clutching her head. "Can you make me a tea?" She asked, trying to give a puppy face, which wasn't easy since her mane was disheveled and her eyes were bloodshot. Vinyl suppressed a laugh and got out of bed, heading to the kitchen. She could hear Lyra throwing up on the other side of the thin hotel walls. Wow, they should really put a soundproofing spell on these walls Vinyl thought as she filled up a cup with water and setting it in the microwave. She could hear Octavia in the bathroom. God, I wish I could just go in there and... shower with her? Vinyl thought to herself. Go! Said the devil on Vinyl's shoulder... The angel just facepalmed, shaking his head. Vinyl decided to take the angel's silent advice and wait it out. Maybe someday... She thought. Ten minutes later, Vinyl and Octavia were sitting at the dinner table. Octavia had cleaned up and was already looking much better then when she had gotten up. "Soo, how does breakfast sound?" Vinyl asked Octavia. "Not too bad actually" Octavia responded with a little smile. "How's Lyra doing?" "Not too great" Vinyl said, her face going dark. "Last I saw her she was practically passed out on Bon" "Oh, that doesn't sound too nice. It's almost as if the sanitizer cleaned 99.9% of her sanity right off" Octavia laughed at her joke. Just then, Lyra and Bonbon walked in. Million right behind them, smiling as he almost always did. "Oh Haha, very funny Octypus" Lyra scowled walking in. "I'm almost dying of laughter" The three newcomers sat down and ordered some drinks from the nearby waiter. Million makers' smile dropped as he told everyone to come closer. Four worried ponies leaned in. "We're going to have to get you on that plane fast, we don't want another rush over you two. After breakfast, you pack your bags and we leave early, I have a private jet to pick you up." Million said. Lyra and Bonbon looked disappointed, but Vinyl quickly told them about the news from that morning. They all agreed that leaving early was the best idea, even after Million had said that they didn't really have a choice. The trip to the airport was no problem, and the boarding wasn't either. It was only once they were on the plane that Vinyl noticed Octavia. She was staring into nothingness and not talking. "Hey Octy?" Vinyl said, wrapping her hooves around the gray mare. "You alright?" "My parents don't know..." She whispered quietly. "What?" Vinyl asked confused. "They don't know I'm here, they have no TV and no internet. I have no idea what will happen when we get home." Octavia looked up at Vinyl, tears in her eyes. "Oh, yeah..." Vinyl said quietly. Knowing Octavia's parents and their way of thinking, Vinyl could only say one thing. "We have a problem." Chapter 10: The ScratchView OnlineA Scratch on the CelloChapter 10: The ScratchThe landing was rough, but Octavia didn't care. Right now, she was cuddled up with Vinyl, dreaming about all the great things they could do in the future. Vinyl was talking to the taxi driver, who was very glad to have someone "So famous" in his cab. "Oh, we're not THAT famous" Vinyl told him. "We just got lucky that we got noticed. In the end, we're all the same." Octavia smiled at Vinyl's words of wisdom. Sometimes Vinyl would act like a real idiot, which hid all the actual smartness in her. Look at me, using words like smartness. She thought. Sometimes I wonder when all my parent's education went out the door. The cab swerved around the last turn. "Here you are Miss Octavia!" The cab driver said, opening the door so she could step out. Vinyl leaned over and kissed Octavia, it was a kiss full of love and passion. In that moment, Vinyl finally understood what love was, and she wanted it to last forever. "See you tomorrow Tavi" Vinyl said after pulling away. Octavia closed the door as Vinyl whispered. "I love you" The Taxi driver got back in and started driving away, leaving Vinyl with one last look at Octavia before she opened the door to her house. "I'M HOOMMEEEEE!!" Octavia yelled as she walked in. Silence. "Mom? Dad?" She called out. Something was wrong, usually the house was warm, all the lights turned on and classical music playing in the background, but now... It was cold, quiet, and the only light came from the dining room. A sudden fear passed over Octavia, what if her parents didn't know, what if... She kicked off her boots as fast as she could and ran to the dining room. Taking a left turn in the hallway, she looked out at the usually warm and welcoming table. Oh shit... nonononono this cannot be happening. Octavia panicked at the sight before her. On the table were two empty cups, and slumped back on two of the chairs were her parents. Both had their eyes closed and tear stains under their eyes. Octavia felt like her whole life was suddenly on pause. She walked up to the table and looked upon the hundreds of photographs that laid there. There she was, picking up a Cello for the first time in her life. Tears started running down her face, she collapsed onto the table, crying freely. Why didn't they call the police? Why would they just stay inside and die? Why did I even accept to go without asking? Stupid me!! I HATE... no, no I don't hate myself. It was Vinyl. Suddenly, she stopped crying. Her sadness was replaced by anger. It's HER fault we went, It's HER fault I said yes. I HATE VINYL! "I HATE VINYL" Octavia yelled at the top her lungs, she fell backwards onto the floor and started crying again. "I hate her, I hate her." "Octavia?" Croaked a voice from one of the chairs. No... it's not possible. Octavia thought, a million thoughts racing through her head. "Mom?" Octavia asked weakly. "Is that you?" Suddenly a chair jerked back and a gray mare fell out of it. "OH MY GOD OCTAVIA!!" She yelled out, struggling to get on her feet. "Where were you? We were worried sick! We thought you had gone missing, we..." She stopped talking when she saw her daughter's look of disbelief. "What's wrong?" "How... how are you alive? I thought you were dead. I though I had lost you." Octavia managed to get out before tears started to well up in her eyes again. "Now that you mention it, I wonder the same thing. Your father and I had more alcohol last night than we had as teenagers. Talking about your father..." She walked over to where a brown stallion was still immobile on the chair and lifted her hoof. SMACK. "Honey! WHY??" It had happened in an instant, one second he looked as dead as Tirek's victims and the next he was on his four legs with a look of panic in his eyes. "Because someone finally decided to come back!" She retorted, smiling. Then her expression changed into a more bitter look. She turned back to Octavia. "Now you're going to tell us exactly what happened this weekend, otherwise..." She let the threat hang there. Octavia knew that her parent's threats were not hollow, in fact, they were more dangerous than any other parent's. So she sat down and got ready to tell them the whole story. Vinyl woke up feeling great, she had had the best weekend of her life and even though today was Monday, it was still good because she would get to see Octavia again. She got out of bed and into her school clothes. After getting ready for school, she grabbed her bag and headed out early, hoping to catch Octavia at their usual rendezvous point. Instead, she was greeted by Lyra and Bonbon. "Mornin' Vinyl, ready to go?" Lyra asked, picking up her bag and wrapping her hoof around Bonbon's neck. "Yeah, but what about Octavia?" Vinyl asked, puzzled over why they would leave her behind. "Oh, she didn't tell you?" Bonbon said, her expression changing from happy to worried. "She had told us that she wasn't going to be able to come today, something about a cold." "Huh" Vinyl responded simply. They wandered off to school, but Vinyl's head was spinning with thoughts. Why did she tell Lyra and Bonbon and not me? Maybe something's wrong. No Vinyl... Don't start worrying, she probably had trouble contacting you. Maybe the phone was occupied. She probably has a massive cold, I shouldn't worry. Vinyl's mind was racing as the school bell announced the end of the day. She was planning on walking over to Octavia's place, maybe to hang out with her. Vinyl walked out of the building and towards the forest path she took to get to Octavia's place. As she was leaving, she noticed Octavia sulking against a tree at the park outside their school. Wait what? She thought, isn't she supposed to rest? "Tavi!" Vinyl yelled, she started running towards Octavia. "Hey, are you feeling better?" Octavia turned around to face her, her eyes were hollow, but there was a glint of sadness hidden inside. "No, and I don't think I'm going to until I say this... I think, I... I think we need to stop seeing each other." Vinyl froze. No, no this can't be happening. "Why, what happened...?" Vinyl asked, pressure building in her head, she felt like her head would bust any second. "I... I dont, like you anymore." A tear started running down Octavia's face as she turned her back on Vinyl. "I need to go, my parents are waiting for me." Vinyl collapsed on the floor as tears started running down her face, she wanted to speak, but couldn't make a sound. I don't... I... I can't, understand. WHY? Octavia hesitated halfway to the car, she turned back at Vinyl's crumpled form on the ground, then back to the car. "I'm sorry Vinyl" She whispered under her breath. "They made me do it." She walked to the car and opened the door. There, she was welcomed by her parents smiling faces. "You did good sweetie!" Her mother told her. "You're better off without people like her anyways." Octavia's vision blurred and her world faded into darkness. She had just lost the being she loved most, and she could never fix the hole it had left in her heart. Author's Note Well that is it... I don't know what to say. I know some of you will hate me for the ending, and you should. It was terrible on my part to do that. But now on to more joyous things, orrr not... The next story isn't exactly very happy either. So I might just throw in a happier One-Shot if I get around to it. I hope you have enjoyed this story as much as I have (Or even more than I have), and I hope that you stick around to read my future stories, but for now, I am closing the page on this book and preparing another one! It was bad enough that she had to go shopping for school supplies with her mother, but, when she finally came back from the Wal-Mare, her friends were all offline. Great, no way of talking to her friends or arranging something before school started tomorrow. She plopped down on her bed and put some Beethoofen on her Ihoof listening to the notes flowing over each other like the waves flow over the sand. After three blissful symphonies that made her feel warm and fuzzy inside, the phone finally rang. "OCTAVIA! WHERE THE HAY ARE YOU??!!" Vinyl's voice hit her like a wrecking ball. "WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 20 MINUTES!!" After the initial shock of her eardrums exploding, Octavia calmly responded. "I could ask you the same thing Vinyl, you didn't send me a message on flankbook or on Google minus" "We sent you an E-mail" Bonbon responded in the background. "Oh..." Octavia had checked everything except her E-mail. As usual. "Why the buck send me an e-mail? You guys know I never read them anyways!" Vinyl tried to say something but Octavia interrupted her. "Just tell me where you are and I'll get there as fast as possible. "No need for that Tavi" Lyra was talking now. "Vinyl had a new spell she wanted to try, just go grab some food in your kitchen because she might be just a bit tired afterwards" "What kind of spell?" Asked Octavia. "Oh Vinyl can explain when you get here" Lyra responded. [Wait] Octavia thought [Did Lyra just sound like she was teasing Vinyl about something?] Lyra wasn't the type of pony to tease, she was always more laid back, Bonbon was the teasing type. Octavia was pondering that as she walked out of the kitchen with a hoof full of Mare Paws, Grainola bars and multiple bags of smareties. "Ok, I'm ready" The only response she got was Lyra and Bonbon laughing while Vinyl's magic started. Then the phone line went blank. [Great] She thought. She headed back to her room half expecting 3 mares to pop out of thin air. Suddenly a wave of nausea passed over her, it disappeared almost instantly, the slowly her room started to smell like fresh air, trees and flowers. The image of her room blurred and she felt Vinyl's magic aura surround her. Then, darkness. The only thing she felt was Vinyl's magic surrounding her body, as if it protected her from the darkness. Though she would never admit it to anyone, she was very comfortable in those few moments. She sighed and closed her eyes. It seemed like minutes, but only a few seconds had passed in the darkness when she heard Lyra's voice. "You can stop now Vinyl, good job for your first try!" Octavia opened her eyes, she was in a park. The first thing she saw was Bonbon on the floor laughing like a maniac as Lyra tried to help a very disgruntled Vinyl stay on her feet. Octavia trotted over and stuffed a whole Mare Paw into Vinyl's mouth. "That's for being dumb enough to use me as a guinea pig for a new spell!" Then she handed her one. "You alright?" Vinyl was trying to swallow a whole mare paw while instinctively stuffing the other in her mouth. Bonbon started laughing even more than before and even Lyra let out a giggle. [She's kinda cute when she's trying not to faint... WOAH BRAIN!!!! SHUT UP!!!!] Octavia couldn't believe she had just thought that. "So, can somepony tell me what this spell is about! Except for the initial 'teleport another pony to you' part" Octavia knew every spell had conditions, and seeing Bonbon laughing the way she was, Octavia knew this was going to be embarrassing for Vinyl. Vinyl had finished her Mare Paws and was trying to catch her breath when she finally said "Well good bucking afternoon to you too Octy, and you could have said thank you!" Bonbon was laughing again. "Ok, thank you Vinyl, your service is very much appreciated" Octavia threw back sarcastically. "Now, tell me about this new spell of yours" Vinyl seemed hesitant. "I'm not sure we shoul-" "OH FOR GOD'S SAKE VINYL JUST TELL HER!!" Bonbon yelled! "Ok, fine. The spell itself is really simple to cast, but it takes up a lot of magic and energy when you begin, it gets easier as you go" She stopped. "The whole thing Vinyl!" Lyra urged her on Vinyl let out an exasperated sigh than muttered something under her breath. "Come again?" Octavia asked "You have to be close to the person you're teleporting" She said miserably. "Close as in..." Octavia was expecting a full answer, even if she already knew what Vinyl was going to say. "Very close, like more-than-friends close." Vinyl was so embarrassed she was almost hiding behind Lyra. The park was silent for exactly 42 microseconds, then Bonbon burst into tears laughing. "BWAHAHA, I knew this was going to be funny, but this is just too good!!!" "Bonbon, shut up!" Lyra said trying not too laugh. "How long have I been telling Vinyl that she and Octavia would be the perfect couple?" Bonbon did not listen to Lyra and kept laughing, suddenly she was getting lifted off the ground by Lyra's magic. "I said, shut up!!" yelled Lyra slowly advancing on Bonbon. She got face to face with Bonbon and released her, then collapsed on the floor and started laughing too. "Great, just bucking great" Vinyl said Octavia approached Vinyl. [Buck I need to comfort her FAST, brain! THINKKK!!] "Hey it's alright, I feel the same way about you" she put a comforting hoof on Vinyl's back. [Wait, did I just say that? BRAIN BUCK YOU, YOU COULDA HAVE THOUGHT OF SOMETHING LESS...] She stopped talking to her brain for a second. Only one word fit there, she was afraid to admit it but she had to say it one day... [True] Octavia looked at Lyra and Bonbon, but they were too busy laughing that they hadn't heard what she said to Vinyl. So she looked back at Vinyl and noticed a blush across her white cheeks. Its very hard to hide a blush when your coat is white, Octavia almost felt sorry for Vinyl because at that moment Bonbon had looked over and noticed the blush, causing her to laugh even harder. Lyra had stopped laughing and trotted over to Octavia and Vinyl. "Sorry about that, I wish I could stay but I need to go home and umm... get ready for tomorrow." She started to leave when Bonbon yelled. "Wait for me Lyly, I'm not missing what you promised tonight." Suddenly Lyra was the one blushing. "Bon, really, Vinyl and Tavi are still here." Bonbon looked back at Vinyl and Octavia. "Oh come on Lyra, we don't have to hide anything from our new little lovebirds." Lyra let out a laugh and started trotting home. "Fine, have it your way" Lyra and Bonbon waved back at them and Bonbon couldn't help herself but to yell "Good luck" to Vinyl, which earned her a slap it the back of the head by Lyra. "What was that about?" Octavia asked "Do you think they're...?" "Yeah, and I think its been a while too." Vinyl responded. "So we were right! That's something I have to rub in tomorrow!" Octavia told Vinyl, which caused a smile to appear on Vinyl's lips. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." Vinyl said quickly. "Why not?" Octavia asked. "Cuz they were right too." Was her answer. "Anyways, I gotta head home too. See you tomorrow." Vinyl quickly kissed Octavia on the cheek before galloping back home. [Vinyl just kissed me...] Octavia's brain was frozen. Sure it was only on the cheek, but still. She stood there for three minutes, waiting for her brain to process what had just happened. After that, she told herself, [Vinyl you bucking pussy, you don't just kiss someone and run on home] [It was a good kiss though] Her brain said. [A very good-SHUT UP] Octavia regained her composure and started walking home. tomorrow was going to be a tough day, and she really needed to get home before it got too dark. "Tomorrow Vinyl, tomorrow I'll show you what a real kiss is" With that in mind, she started trotting home, already mentally preparing herself for the day to come.
