The First Sparkby Digital PwnyChaptersPart 1Part 2Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7Part 8Part 9EpiloguePart 3Part 8.5Part 1It was the year 1998 in the city of Cloudsdale when Equestria was graced with the greatest treasure of all, me. Just kidding! Just kidding! I am not full of myself. If you haven’t figured it out I’m Digital Pwny. You know the one of few ponies to have made a computer? I’m about to tell you the most fantastic story you’ll have ever heard! (Well maybe not the best… but it’ll be pretty darn good!) It will be the story of how I came to be the pony that I am today. Still there? Then that must mean I am not as bad a writer as I thought. Let’s begin where all stories usually do, the beginning. It was a rainy day the day I first came home. I can’t remember much since I was what… one or two days old? Beside the point, the first few years of my life were the simple eat, sleep, and play. But I remember having the best parents ever. My mother’s name was Pixelellia V. Pwny, and my father was Charles C. Pwny. But they were simply called Pixel and Chip Pwny. My life was totally normal until the day I went to school. After that my life began to change. It was a day like any other, sleeping comfortably in my bed of fluffy soft clouds, sunshine streaming beautifully through my open window. When my mother aroused me, “Wake up Digi, it’s time for your first day of school.” I forgot to mention, that most people usually just call me Digi or Digit since Digital is so long. “I don’t wanna go yet, just a while longer?” She laughed in the sweet and harmonious way she always did, and ruffled my unruly mane. “You don’t want to be late do you?” I lay silent for a bit, “Ok mommy, I’ll get up.” When I opened my eyes there she was, the one of two ponies who really made my life special. With her golden angelic eyes and light green coat, I could’ve easily mistaken her for an angel. She was wearing her two anklets and her heart necklace that her mother passed on to her as a family heirloom. Her mane was a light brown color that rivaled the clouds in softness. She was one half to my whole world. I didn’t have friends; all I needed was my mom and dad. So, very reluctantly, I got out of my bed and began to get ready for the big day ahead. Dad had already left for his job at the Cloudsdale Sciences Facility. I didn’t know much about what he did there, but I knew it was a good thing; mom helped him with his work, so they were like partners in work and life. I figured that school would be like what I had heard from other ponies, that you go there and sit for a long time and learn boring stuff that you won’t need. But they were wrong very wrong. My teacher, Mrs. Gale, was a wonderful teacher, she taught us about writing, spelling, reading, science (which was my personal favorite, surprise, surprise.) history, and math. I wasn’t very good at math; numbers couldn’t keep straight in my head for some reason. I thought school was the best thing to ever happen to me, mom wouldn’t even have to ask for me to get up. I was already up saddlebags ready and waiting to go. Until the day the incident happened. I was just sitting at my desk, writing what the teacher had wrote on the chalk board. When the class bully, Butch Brawny, decided today was the day to pick on me. He may have been a unicorn, but his father was skilled enough with magic to get him a cloud walking spell so he could attend one of the better schools in Equestria. He trotted over to my desk and watched what I was writing. “Why you writing the notes?” He asked with a sneer. “Because that is what we’re supposed to do.” I said very plainly, seeing as to me this was common sense. “You just a goody horseshoes aren’t you?” He said in a very aggravating tone. “No, just doing what I should do.” His tone was ineffective against me. “Fine, how about I just take these.” He said as he levitated my notes out from underneath my pencil. “Hey!” I shouted, “Give those back! If I don’t have those how else am I going to learn!?” He replied with a sinister smirk on his face, “Well then I guess you’ll be just as useful as your scientist father.” Shocked at the statement I attempted to retrieve my notes. “Hey give him his notes!” Shouted another Pegasus from a couple desks over. “How about I just do this instead, I’ll just teleport it into the nearest timberwolf den and you can go fetch it.” He said, horn glowing even more intensely. What happened to his spell I’ll never know, all I remember is there was a bright flash and my eyes felt like there were bees stinging them over and over again. Then there was nothing. I woke with bandages over my eyes. I couldn’t see through them. I didn’t know where I was, or what happened. I heard voices, my mother and father, and the Pegasus who stood up for me. There was also another voice I didn’t know, but he was talking to my parents. He said, “The flash from the spell was enough to partially damage his vision. He’ll need glasses to be able to see, you are very lucky he wasn’t exposed to the flash any longer or else he would have been blind.“ At this I was extremely worried and ripped the bandages off. “AHHHH!!!” I screamed. Turns out having bandages on your eyes makes it hurtful to take them off when it is in a bright hospital room. I think I may have startled everypony in the room. “Somepony close the curtains quickly!” My father ordered. I couldn’t tell who it was, but somepony closed the curtains, and the room light was much more bearable. “Where am I?” I asked, “Why is everything so fuzzy? Mommy? Daddy?” I said in much distress. “Were here Digi.” It was my father’s booming voice of comfort; he didn’t really have a quiet or soft voice. “You’re going to be alright sweetheart.” That was my mother’s voice; I was very confused, the world isn’t supposed to be this fuzzy. “Why is everything so fuzzy?” I asked again. This time it was the Pegasus from my class who spoke, “Butch Brawny tried to teleport your notes away, but ended up blasting a light bright enough to be seen from space. You were the most affected and it seems he damaged your vision. He was suspended though which he had for a long time coming.” He said in a proud tone. “Who are you?” I asked, “I’m Cloud Crasher, the toughest flyer to ever have flown in Cloudsdale.” He said, once again very proudly. “Well it’s nice to meet you, sort of, I can’t really see what you look like.” I replied kind of sheepishly. “It’s alright, not your fault anyway.” From that day forward I became friends with Cloud Crasher, he is one of my best friends to this day. I also had to wear glasses due to my decreased vision capabilities. The day I got them was a very defining moment for me. “Do you see any frames you like son?” I looked up and down the rows of different colored shapes and sizes, “I think those rounded gold colored ones are nice.” My father had taken me to the eye doctor’s office; I was now choosing my frames. “Here you go, try them on.” I looked in the mirror and to my surprise; I looked very different than I did before. “Wow.” Is all I could manage to say. “Very nice!” My dad exclaimed. “They make you look smarter than Star Swirl the Bearded himself.” I liked that a lot. So those were the frames I chose. The day I got my finished and ready glasses, boy was I happy. I could see my father in clear vision again. His strong, lean body, his midnight aqua coat, his chocolate brown eyes, and his unruly dark mane. He was the other half to my already perfect life. Besides the vision and incident. Now I had a friend too, when I first saw him with clear vision I remembered him from class. He was one to stand up for others, a fighting flyer if you will. He was a dark grey Pegasus, with a longer brown mane and short brown tail. He had freckles going across his muzzle and a nick missing from one ear, probably for one of his many defending of friends. He also had his cutie mark, a cloud and sun, probably entailing he’s good with the weather, must remember to ask him that. He also had a pair of goggles he always had around his neck or on his head, and sometimes over his eyes. I think they were his grandfather who was a great flyer, so he keeps them near as a good luck charm; Boy am I glad to call him my friend. We would race and do stunts and all that stuff, I wasn’t so good at the stunt part but I tried. Life was all good, even Butch Brawny was no longer a problem. He was expelled from my school and had to go somewhere else. Yep it was all great. Until the day my life was turned upside down. Author's Note I am not a good formater I know that for sure. Layout will be fixed in later stories, If i decide to post them here. Also not all character depictions may be accurate due to me not being the one to create them. Other peoples OC's were used in the making of this story. Part 2It was a day like any other, but a day that I’ll never forget. I had gone off to school saying goodbye to mom and dad, they seemed a bit off but nothing too out of the ordinary. I finished my schoolwork and went cloud kicking with Cloud Crasher at recess, he beat me of course, He always does. Nothing weird nothing strange, all normal as normal can be. As I was flying home I thought I heard a lot of shouting, sounded like the guards. I wondered who’s house they were at and hoped everypony was safe. As I got closer to home I realized the chatter was getting even louder. I hope no one I knew was in danger. Then it hit me, it might be my house! I began pumping my wings as fast as they would go, all in hopes that my house wasn’t the one in danger; So much for hope. The guards were looking around my house, lawn, backyard, and I’d imagine on the inside as well. “What happened!?” I yelled at the head guard. “Somepony has broken into your house, they seemed to be searching for something, were not sure if they found it.” The guard replied stiffly. “What is that supposed to mean!?” “Look, the bad ponies may come back and they may hurt you if you’re here alone.” “Wait… alone? What about my mommy? She stays home during the day.” I was beginning to get really worried. “We didn’t find anypony in the house. We got a call from the neighbor saying they heard strange sounds coming from your house. We came to investigate and found the place trashed.” This was not good at all; I went into a full blown panic. “Where’s my mommy!? The bad ponies are doing something to her! Where’s daddy? Why isn’t he here?” I went on ranting until the guard stopped me. “We tried finding your daddy at work; he seems to have gone missing like mommy.” He noticed the look of terror cross my face, “but we’re sure they’ll turn up soon!” He quickly said before his words took effect on me. “Can I go inside please?” Was all I had left to say to him. “If you think you can handle it go ahead, but it is really trashed in there so please don’t push your emotions too far.” I took no heed to his advice and went inside, what was there made me want to just lay down right there and die. All our furniture was ripped, broken, and splintered across the house. Our pictures just lay broken on the ground wishing they could be rehung. There were hoofprints all over the house that didn’t belong to me, mom, or dad. I saw my room and was shocked, all my toys were shattered, my art and crafts ripped and broken. Just like my spirits were at the time. Mom and Dad’s room was the worst, everything was moved, tipped over, and broken. There was something out of place though. I looked around the floor and found my mother’s heart necklace was still here. I wonder how the guards missed it. I picked it up and just held it there in my hoof for a long time, wishing that they were alright. I couldn’t help but just lay there and cry, there was no one left who cared for me, none who would watch me and love me the same way they did. I was alone, my world collapsed. I must’ve fell asleep and awoke later that night, it seemed most of the guards had left except for a few who were here to protect me. I began searching the room again and found something rather peculiar, a filing cabinet, with a note. I had seen this cabinet before, but it had never had a note on it. I picked it up and began to read. Dear Digi When you find this you will know that we have gone. (This sounds as if it might clear things up.) We are extremely sorry we could not say goodbye, we were in a very high pressured situation and had to go as soon as we could. We are fine; we have not been captured or taken by the ponies who invaded the house. (Sounded as if they knew we were going to be broken into today, as well as the fact that she seems to be trying to comfort me, even though the words may not be true.) We both know that this is going to be hard on you and were sorry, but we need to explain some things to you. (The hoofwriting changes here) You see son, I don’t exactly work for the Cloudsdale Science Facility, I did go there to do experiments and get parts for what my real job was though. I actually worked for the Canterlot’s Government run science branch; I was focused on the invention of a new technology that could revolutionize Equestria! My orders came directly from Celestia herself. But this job came with risks, your mother was also a scientist that was helping me work with the project, it was nice just having you and your wife changing the world. Eventually your mother decided it was best to stay at home while I would continue the experiments and invention of the machine. (At this I was interested, their job is what may have caused them to flee, so they wouldn’t lose it to the wrong ponies.) Now today we were told that some suspicious ponies were watching the house, we found out that these ponies were after the invention. So after we sent you to school today, since we knew you’d be safe there, we noticed that there were a lot of ponies loitering around the neighborhood. We took this as a sign to lock up the invention, its notes, and flee so they couldn’t get the info out of us. (Hoofwriting changes back to Pixelellia’s) So you see, we left to protect you. If we stayed you could’ve been hurt, and that is something we wouldn’t ever risk. (A tear formed in my eye) We love you Digi, our little spark. (That is all it says) After letting my heart pour out its sorrow, I returned to the strange filing cabinet. There were two strange lock like mechanisms. One was in the shape of a heart. Then it hit me, the necklace my mom wears wasn’t just an heirloom, it was also a key! I quickly picked the heart off the ground where I’d left it, as I put it near the slot it seemed like the two were meant to be in the same room at this moment. But what of the other key? It looked like a normal key slot, accept we don’t have any keys that would fit it; it is much bigger slot than a key. I looked around the room hoping to find something that a key could be; when I noticed a feather, a midnight blue feather. It was my father’s! It then occurred to me that maybe the feather maybe the key, but how would it be a key? I snatched the feather up being careful not to bend it in case it was the key. I went over to the cabinet and put the feather in the lock, there was a really strange whirring sound, I jumped back and watched in awe as the two locks turned and then moved off the cabinet, slowly the drawers opened on their own. What magic was this? What is causing this? I wouldn’t know till much later. After the scary whirring and moving stopped, I trotted over to the cabinet and saw it was full of papers and machine pieces. There was one paper that stood out to me, one that looked more like another letter than a strange drawing or scribble. I picked it up, it was another note, but seemed older like it was waiting for me. It said something I never would of thought I would be able to do. Dear Digital (this meant business if they used my full name.) If you’ve found this note that means it is up to you to finish the project, the one we call The Computer. I dropped the note in shock. I was only about to get out of Elementary school and now they wanted me to build a machine they hadn’t even figured out yet! Talk about extreme! But out of curiosity I kept reading. We are not sure if or when you’ll get this note, if you are still in school we have provided all the basic lessons you’ll need from Middle School, you will need to attend high school at some point but first let’s get the project underway. (It said some stuff about if I was out of school but I’m not so I skipped it) You’ll need to read our notes and drawings to find out things that the computer was needing as well as how it works and assembles. (Easy for them to say) This is all the help we can offer you unfortunately, were sorry it is so vague. (No kidding. I’m supposed to put the thing together sounds so easy!) We love you, we know you can do it! “Well it’s nice they have such confidence in me!” I exclaimed. The feeling of slight anger passed quickly as I realized again that I was alone. “Now what will I do?” I questioned knowing no one will have an answer. Author's Note Once again format. I know, it sucks. Part 4When I arrived to school everything seemed normal. I knew it wasn’t because I had plans that would probably scare everypony that I knew. But I needed to carry out these plans. It is my destiny. Cloud Crasher came up to me and by the look on his face I’d say he knew that my house was broken into and that my parents were missing. We stood there in an awkward silence for a little bit. He was first to speak, “Hey Digi… I’m sorry about wha…” I cut him off, “You don’t need to be sorry, there isn’t anything you could’ve done.” Another awkward silence. “Cloud I am planning something big. Something really big.” He seemed surprised at the mention of this. “What are you planning? Is it some sort of revenge plot?” He said with a slight smile and chuckle. I think he was trying to make me feel better, but this was a serious matter to me. “Cloud I’m serious.” I said with a grim seriousness. “Oh sorry… but really what are you planning?” I mentally prepared myself for the realization of my plan. “Today will be my last day at this school.” He cut me off, “What! Are the guards relocating you?” I cut him off too, that is what friends do after all. “Just wait and you’ll know it all.” He sat back and began listening intently as I began to relay my plans to him. “No I am not being relocated, well not by anyone else anyways. I am going to run away.” His eyes went really wide with surprise, but he kept listening. “I have been given a mission by my parents that I plan to finish, but I can’t do what they wish with the guards and Mrs. Ofrain breathing down my neck. So I’m leaving Cloudsdale.” As he processed this I watched his face for signs of emotion. He eventually asked the one question I had been dreading. “Will I ever see you again?” I sat there pondering the reality of the situation and the likeliness I’ll ever see him again. It seemed most unlikely that we’d ever see each other again, but I couldn’t say that. “Yeah, we will see each other again most definitely.” He seemed relieved. I am glad I could give him some comfort, too bad I couldn’t comfort myself. The rest of the day I was too nervous to pay attention to school. Cloud Crasher seemed distracted too. As soon as class ended I dashed out of the door to not waste a second of my time. I caught a glimpse of Cloud Crasher, he looked severely depressed. I felt really bad for doing this to him, but it must be done. I rushed home to make sure I could get enough supplies for a long trip, if everything went according to plan I should be able to gather supplies, The Computer pieces and plans, and just a few homely things to keep me confident. I arrived home in record time, most of the guards had left and only a few straggled around for clues and to protect me. I saw Mrs. Ofrain through the living room window talking to a guard. I made my way to the door and entered, I made sure to close the door quietly so I wouldn’t be heard. I hovered my way up the stairs, If I walked my hooves would be heard for sure. I made my way to my room, or where my room used to be, instead of the bright comfortable place that was my one and only space of joy, it was now a dull broken place I used to call home. I grabbed my saddlebags, and a memento or two, and moved on to my parent’s room. I loaded the pieces and plans of The Computer into one of my saddlebags, I was sure glad there wasn’t much there. I also took my father’s feather, and my mother’s heart necklace. I held them in my hoof and pictured my mother and father out there somewhere hiding from evil ponies. It pulled my heartstrings and I shed a tear, but there wasn’t time to cry, not when I had a mission to do. I continued to the kitchen and was relieved to find no guards stealing my food. I grabbed hay, oats, apples, and a treat for later. A muffin, a delicious, scrumptious, chocolaty, heavenly muffin. … Anyways I was weighed down by the all the supplies and was unable to fly it out, which means I had to trot. This was the most dangerous part. I began to tip-hoof my way towards the door. I made it to the door undetected and began to open it. Luck had decided to not stay with me that day for the door creaked and Mrs. Ofrain heard it. “Digital is that you?” She called out. I knew if she caught me my entire mission as well as my destiny would be ruined. I thought quickly for an excuse when I got one. “I’m going to the park to play with Cloud Crasher. I hoped she’d believe my obvious lie. “Ok but when you come back we are going to have to talk about getting a new family.” She must have been the stupidest pony I’d ever met, new family my flank. I left my home and made my way to the Hot Air Balloon station. Part 5I seemed to be the only one in line for a hot air balloon ride. “Hey where are your parents?” The pilot asked. “Umm… they are coming; they want me to go ahead of them.” He eyed me suspiciously. “How come I have a hard time believing you?” I panicked. I then did an impression of my father, far from a good one but the pilot didn’t know what my father sounded like. “Go ahead and let him go, we are going for a picnic down in the field, he has some stuff to set up.” The pilot eyed my saddlebags; and began to think. All I could do is stand there with a big cheesy smile trying to make sure that he lets me down. “Well if you say so…” I couldn’t believe it, how this many ponies got through grade school was a mareacle. He let me in and we began to descend. This was the first time I’d ever been outside of Cloudsdale so I hadn’t known what to expect. Well it was beautiful, rolling hill of green grass, the white fluffy clouds, a gurgling creek the color of pure ice, and so many creatures, and not just ones that fly, there were ones that walked and even swum. I was amazed and overwhelmed. There was so much beauty for one small foal to take in. “Here we are the big field.” I looked at the pilot for any sign of awe on his face, but there was none. I couldn’t understand it, how could he not be in awe at the beauty. I will never understand older ponies. We landed and he let me off. “I’ll be back with your parents in a jiff little colt.” If only it were true. “Thank you.” He seemed surprised, “Y-your welcome.” I think this was the first time someone had thanked him. Off he flew with a smile on his face making me glad I could make someone’s day better. I began the long trot off to another town, not knowing what I’ll meet or who’d I’d face. I decided that the river would be my guide, water leads to civilization… or something like that. What happened next was something that scared me into the reality of my situation. I had settled down for the night along the river, I watched as the sun set and the moon rose. I noticed something about the moon I hadn’t noticed before, there is an image of a pony. I rummaged through my saddlebags and found a book. Just one of the things I had grabbed randomly. “Mare in the Moon?” I hooved through the story. The story scared me just a little bit, but not enough to keep me from sleeping. I was having a nightmare about Nightmare Moon when I heard a noise. I stirred and awoke, looking around to see what had awoken me. Then I heard the noise even clearer, it is a roar! I began frequently searching for the source of the roar. It came from the forest on the other side of the river. I grabbed my things and began to back away. Out from the forest burst forth a mighty manticore! I flipped out and attempted to fly, remembering that my saddlebags were weighing me down. I just ended up face planted in the dirt. The manticore proceeded to jump across the river in a single bound. I began to run as fast as my young legs could carry me. I should’ve known that I couldn’t outrun it, it caught up to me and began to try and remove my saddlebags! “I NEED THOSE!” I shouted at the manticore. It succeeded in tearing the food sack off of my back. It began to eat my apples. “DON’T!!!” It shredded my saddlebags and ate all my apples. Leaving my hay spread all over the grass. It then proceeded to leave me in a scared state. I lay there the rest of the night, stunned that my quest had just been totally halted by a single creature. As the sun rose I realized I needed to do something or else everything would just be harder. So I salvaged what I could. A small bit of hay, and the muffin; which survived the attack somehow. I packed my things and kept moving. But now I had a knowledge I didn’t before, Equestria is full of dangers that I had no idea were so frequent. I needed to be safer than before and very cautious. Thank goodness I wasn’t attacked again. I finally reached a town, a place I’d soon learn to call home. Ponyville. I trotted into town and was relieved to see so many ponies. I hadn’t seen hide or tail of another pony for at least a month, it is hard to keep track when all you have is food, school lessons, and invention parts. The only problem was I hadn’t a clue where to go. I went through town and bought a bushel of apples from a light green old-trotter, and made my way towards the woods near an apple tree farm. After a short exploration I found a tree house. I doubted that anypony would mind if I settled down in the tree house. So I set up base and began to scout out Ponyville. There seemed to be a lot of nice places, and not too many guards to find me, since I have no doubt that I am being looked for, and A lot of nice ponies too. I could learn to like this town. Much later I returned to the tree house to retire to bed. I had a lot of new things to explore and a whole new invention to learn, I would be there for a long time. I was relieved to finally find a place to call home again. Author's Note So much to fix. That is why i'm learning from my mistakes. Part 6For a couple of weeks passed and I got more and more settled in to the tree house everything was great, I’d even made friends with a couple of ponies. One day I heard a noise while I was fast asleep. I decided to dismiss the noise and continue sleeping. That was before I realized that I heard a voice approaching the tree house! I jumped up and flew to the empty chest in the corner of the room. I quickly opened the chest and jumped inside. Just as I did the door flew open and a filly entered the tree house. I was terrified that she would find me and make me go back to Cloudsdale. I just lay there and covered my face hoping I would be impossible to find. “What the hay? Who’s been sleep’n in mah tree house?” Whoever it was she had a very country accent. I remained silent in fear of discovery. She moved around almost as if she seemed to be searching for something. “What’s that?” I cringed, she found me! Hoofsteps leave my vicinity and go over to where my saddlebags were laying. I hear a clasp unlock as she looks inside my saddlebags. “What are these doo dads?” OH NO SHE FOUND MY COMPUTER PARTS! “DON’T TOUCH THOSE!” I yelled bursting out of the chest. “DEAR CELESTIA! Who the hay are you!?” Good job Digital, really stealthy. “Umm…. Uhhhh…” I was really scared and couldn’t say anything. “What’s the mattah? Cat got yer tongue?” I didn’t know what to say. “Well! Say someth’n!” She startled me with her sudden demand. “Please don’t touch those.” She looked at me and then to the foreign pieces of machinery in the saddle bag. “Oh! Uh, sorry partner.” I was relieved; the ice seemed to have finally broken. “Thanks, they are one of a kind.” She seemed surprised. “Really? They all look the same tah mah.” "Well you see that is the CPU and that there is the motherboard and that there…” I glanced up to see that she was looking at me with a confused look of great intensity. “Uhh… oh… um… sorry.” I was just a little bit embarrassed that I went on about a thing that no one understood but my family. “It’s alright. I’m Applejack, nice to meet ya” I was glad she forgot about the whole living in your tree house thing. “I’m Digital Pwny, nice to meet you as well.” She looked eyed me and looked at our surroundings. “So why the hay are ya living in mah tree house!” So much for forgetting. “Well… you see… *sigh*” She looked concerned, “You alright?” I knew I had to tell her everything, so I told her the story of how I came to be here. I was surprised that she has listened to it all. “So now you know, and if you want to tell the guards where I am go ahead, but I will just get away again no matter what…” She looked at me with much pity. “I won’t tell anypony, You just stay as long as you need.” I was shocked! “W-w-what?” I couldn’t believe it. “No pony has ever been so nice to me… besides my parents and friends. But a random stranger… I… I…” She cut me off, “Don’t worry about it Digital, it’s what friends do.” From then on me and Applejack were friends. As time passed I slowly gathered pieces, materials and tools to build the computer. I was able to finish the monitor, CPU tower, and an empty battery. Applejack would visit every day and talk with a while, as well as bring me a couple of apples. One day she came but seemed a little lackluster, she told me she wasn’t happy farming and that she was going to go try living with her Aunt and Uncle Orange in the city of Manehattan. I was sad to see her go but she needed to do what she needed to do. After she left I constructed a pole that would attract a source of power for the battery, I called it a lighting pole. I installed it on top of the tree house in hopes that it would charge the battery when lightning struck. The next few days were boring; all I did was set up The Computer and get ready for a storm. What happened next I didn’t know could’ve happened. It was a normal day, I was tweaking with The Computer and setting it up with new safety measures. When it happened!. There was a loud BOOM! I could’ve swore it was as loud as a bomb! I looked out of the window and saw the most amazing thing. An array of colors spread through the sky in a ring! The radiance and magnificence shown by this rainbow ring was astonishing. I sat there staring for minutes on end. When I realized the ring was getting closer and closer! I thought it couldn’t have been dangerous at all. Well… it wasn’t exactly harmless. It began to shake the tree house violently and I heard a strange energy sound. Only later would I know what that sound was. Because outside my lightning pole was being thrashed about in the force as well as absorbing energy from the rainbow ring! It was pulsating with spectral colors in a brilliant dance. The energy made its way down into the battery with a brilliant light show! Multicolored bolts of energy arced around the room as the battery filled with strange rainbow energy. Finally all settled down. The battery completely filled with a radiant glow. It had been charged with rainbow energy! I observed the strange battery with hopes of finding out how it came to be the way it was. But to no avail. All there was left to do is but the battery into the CPU tower. When I did the machine began to shake and colors began to fly from inside the machine. I closed the CPU tower and stood back watching the machine trash about in a brilliant array of colors. It finally settled down and began whirring and beeping. I looked out the window at the rainbow ring as it began to dissipate. “Thank you.” I said to whom or what made the ring. Then another flash, I looked back at The Computer but it hadn’t made the light. I realized it was my cutie mark! I had built technology, the first like it in Equestria, and that was reflected in my cutie mark. I was overjoyed. I then remembered that The Computer is sitting over in the corner waiting for me. I trotted over and plugged the monitor into the CPU tower. A little green blip appeared on the screen and displayed a message. “Please install software” This was confusing. “What the hay is software?” I wouldn’t know till much later in the story. The only problem is I was approaching High School age. Which means I’d have to take a break from The Computer. Applejack came back home too, she had gotten her cutie mark while she was gone. She said a rainbow had led her back home where she belongs. She noticed mine and I told her the story behind it as well. All was well in my life. Author's Note I don't know how to do a country accent sorry. ^^; Part 7My High School years were definitely not the best part of my life. I met a lot of ponies and saw a few I already knew. This was one instance. I was only in the 10th Grade, straight A’s, friends a plenty (for me anyways) and not a care in the world… well besides The Computer and my missing parents that is. It was all great… till he reentered my life… the one who caused me great harm… the one who gave me these glasses. That’s right Butch Brawny; far stronger than the average stallion and exceedingly more mean! To say the least I thought he wouldn’t ever be a problem again, but it seems he was to play a part in my life… oh well whatcha gonna do? I was sitting in my Weather Studies class when he appeared. He strolled through the doorway without a care, sinister sneer across his face. I looked up from my classwork to see who’d come in late, and I just couldn’t believe my eyes! Could that really be him!? The bringer of pain and despair!? Unfortunately my eyes hadn’t deceived me. “Late again Mr. Brawny?” The teacher said with sarcasm so heavy I thought someone had dropped an anvil. “What can I say teach, I’m an important pony.” He replied with a big sneer, he began scanning for an open seat. I was too preoccupied with the fact that I somehow had missed the fact that he was in my class that I missed the fact that the only open desk was next to me! He took his seat and I swore the desk screamed to me for help. Mortified that my tormentor was sitting next to me I quickly turned the other way and kept writing, making sure to keep my face hidden. He pulled out the homework assignment from last night and began searching his nearby surroundings for someone to copy off of. I had a gut feeling he’d pick me since I have that… smart look I guess, plus I had finished the assignment already and was working on today’s work. “Psst! What are the answers for the homework?” He whispered in a very hissy tone. “I-I d-d-don’t have t-them.” I replied shaking so hard I’d appear on the Richter Scale. “You really want to do this smart guy?” That tone was much more threatening. “I don’t have them!” I actually believed my own lie. “If you don’t give me the answers I’m going to have to pummel you after school.” I was terrified beyond imagination; I had to do it so as not to risk my own safety. I nudged the homework over with my wing. “Good choice dorkwad.” Wow he sure had a stupid insult… but at least I was alive. “Hey wait a sec…” Time stopped right there, I knew he had figured me out, it was going to die! “You have the name of someone I used to know back in Cloudsdale.” Good bye Equestria, he is going to kill me! “Yeah he was a dweeb who was really smart. I half blinded him but he deserved it.” Here lies Digital Pwny, don’t hire him for undercover work. “What a coincidence.” … DEAR CELESTIA ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? HOW COULD HE NOT PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER!?!? Boy am I glad I’m the nemesis of the numbest pony ever! Class went on as if nothing had happened. Well besides me being a nervous wreck with Butch sitting next to me. School came and went and I thought I may not have to worry about him; So much for wishful thinking. It was about a month later when the fateful encounter happened. I was walking through the halls of the high school, and I happened to bump into somepony who felt like a brick wall. “Ooof! Ow… Sorry I guess I wasn’t looking where I was go… ing…” I looked up and met the eyes of pure rage. “WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING NERD!!!” I recoiled at the sheer booming volume of his voice. I couldn’t move I was far too scared. “Wait a second.” I held my breath fearing his next words. “You’re the one; from my first school!” He had figured it out; I was officially a dead stallion. “You got me in so much trouble and I was expelled from school! You ruined my chances at a good education!” Silence no longer held me, how could he blame me for the ruining of his life!? He was the whole cause of it all! “You’re the one who started it all! You only have yourself to blame!” He seemed delightfully surprised that I retorted. “I didn’t do anything except give a nerdy geek what he deserved!” I was outraged, how could this make sense to him at all!? “You have a problem with the way I am!?” I already knew what he’d say. “Of course I do!” It was all too obvious he’d say that. I hadn’t realized but a crowd was forming and a low chant heard all too often. “Fight, fight, fight!” I hate it when ponies chant that, but I was a bit too infuriated to notice. “Well I have a problem with you!” I began to notice a strange energy beginning to radiate through me, I heard the crowd begin to gasp and say, “Look at his cutie mark!” Butch replied not noticing the change. “And what might that be?” The crowd was getting a real show, the big Brawny, and the Sparky Pwny. I hadn’t realized that my cutie mark had energy waves going through the yellow wiring of the circuit, which were making their way extending around my being from my flank to my wings and finally they reached my face. I didn’t know what was happening but it was too late to stop it. I looked at Butch extended my wings, and said one word. “Everything.” The room’s atmosphere suddenly spiked and bolts of lightning somehow arced from me to Butch knocking him out on contact and leaving a scar going down his eye, as well as a couple burns. I woke up a few minutes later with everypony staring at me. I rose shakily to my hooves and scanned the scene. A lot of ponies seemed to have run away, Butch lay harmed and out cold on the floor, there were a couple of burns on the walls. I couldn’t believe that had happened, I hadn’t wanted it to happen. I was confused and scared just wishing that hadn’t just happened. A dark blue Pegasus came out from the crowd and began pulling me along with him, wherever he was going. “Where are we going?” I was shocked, my voice sounded a bit mechanical; must’ve been from the weird energy thing. “Were getting you away from here so you don’t get accused of things you didn’t mean to do.” He seemed awful happy which was kind of weird. Weren’t we running for safety while being chased or maybe not being chased, wasn’t sure if they found Butch yet. “You seem happy.” He laughed and replied in a chipper tone, “It’s best to be happy when in bad situations. So I try to be happy at all times to be sure everything is good.” Wow he’s got it all figured out, I wish I could. We fled out of the school off towards the tree house; we were finally able to relax once we got inside. “*pant* How’d you know where to go?” He looked over and gave me a big smile. “I saw you come out of here a lot when I would fly by, I figured you lived here or something.” Note to self, try to be sneakier. “Well thanks anyway…” I had another chance to look at him, he had a black and neon mane styled into spikes, with a unruly tail of the same color. “Who are you anyway? I don’t remember seeing you anywhere in school.” He seemed quite happy that I asked his name, than again I think he’d be happy if I asked him anything. “I’m Trippy Hooves nice to meet ya!” We shook hooves and figured out where he was in school in comparison to where I was. Until he realized he needed to get back to school fast! “Crud; I need to get back to school! See ya later Digi gotta fly!” He dashed over to the door and proceeded to take off faster than a rocket. I was sad to see him go, he really did make a lot of things better, I guess that is the power of being positive. I did have one problem though… I couldn’t go back to school. That was the last time I was ever in school, I didn’t need it; the lessons were getting redundant anyways. Another mystery had made itself known; I had shot lightning from my wings! Pegasi can’t shoot lightning from anything but a storm cloud, so where had it come from? Author's Note Trippy Hooves is my friends OC, he named him that after his last name, Tripp. Part 8Over the next few years I couldn’t help but feel that I was missing something by not being able to go to school. But I can’t fix the past so I better live in the present and focus on the future. I had begun to learn where the source of my newfound power had come from; it turns out it may have happened the day of The Computers first boot up. It must’ve come from the energy that arced around the room when the rainbow energy entered the battery; I’m thinking the pure radiating energy may have altered my being as well as my cutie mark making it the epicenter for the entire change, explaining why the cutie mark began to change and alter the rest of me during my dangerous, emotion filled situation. I had been endowed with power by an inventor’s incident, I thought it was only in comic books but there wasn’t any other solution. I thought I had been truly blessed; powers that no pony else had and no downside to it at all! I should’ve known it was too good to be true. It was very early morning; I had left the tree house to do what had fast become my favorite thing to do, watch the sunrise over the hills. I flew over to my favorite spot, a hill at the top of a valley filled with the apple orchard, and got comfortable waiting for the beautiful painting to rise over the hills and grace Equestria with its beauty. I hadn’t heard the Applejack approach, “Whatcha do’n sugarcube?” I was deathly startled and wing jumped higher than the clouds. I realized it was AJ and rejoined her on the ground. “You startled me.” She laughed lightly and apologized, “So what are yah always doing up here on this hill every morn’n?” I got comfortable and looked out over the orchard and kept waiting for the sun, “I always come out here to see the sun rise, it is too pretty to miss.” She seemed to be puzzling over what I’d just said, “Huh, never thought of it like that. Well would ya mind if I watched it with ya?” I was happy to see somepony else wanted to enjoy in my favorite thing. “Be my guest, I’d love having someone else out here.” She sat next to me and we both sat waiting for the sun to put on a show. “Hey Digi I have been meaning to tell ya someth’n.” I wondered what she could need to tell me, she hasn’t been this serious for a long while. “I found you livin in mah tree house when we were both little foals, and now it has been so many years later and we both have grown right up.” Where was she going with this? “You were always there for me when I needed you and even when I didn’t, you were just like another brother to mah.” I continued listening with much curiosity, what was she trying to say? “I just wanted to thank ya for everything ya’ve done for me, and I wanted to just say that ya are a part of the apple family in my mind.” Wow… had I really affected AJ that much? “Wow AJ…. That means a lot to me, I haven’t really had a family since I was really little. I-I just don’t know what to…” She cut me off, so much for the touching moment, “Look the suns rising!” We both looked out as the golden waves of color began to spread from the hill top all around the orchard, casting shadows and making the area seem to sparkle with beauty. That is when it all went wrong; I felt a stinging pain hit my heart that proceeded to spread through my body. AJ realized I was in pain, “Somethi’n wrong sugar cube?” I didn’t really know if something was wrong, “There is a shocking pain going through me!” My voice had turned mechanical and robotic. “Digi; what’s happening!?” She looked extremely worried now, she went to touch me but was shocked! She recoiled her hoof slightly burned from the shock; I knew I had to get away, If I didn’t something bad would happen to everything near me. I took off as fast as I could and dashed for the nearest unpopulated area, which just happened to be where a bunch of clouds were waiting to be moved. I couldn’t keep the energy pent up anymore! I discharged all the energy I had built up over time, it was brighter than a solar flare from 3 ft away, and had more power than the combined energy of 200 nuclear reactors. The blast decimated any of the life on the field below me, and the clouds ended up absorbing a lot of electrical energy causing a major storm to brew, the storm of the century! I blacked out after the incident and awoke inside the Apple Homestead; surrounded by my friends as well as AJ’s friends, they were quite well known around Equestria so I was surprised they would come to see me. “What happened?” They all looked at me with a look of fear, probably to tell me what in Equestria had happened. Applejack was first to speak, “Something happened that had to do with you power.” I was dumbfounded, “How did you find out about it?” She gave me a warm smile, “Your friend Trippy over here told us about it.” I glanced over in the direction she indicated and saw him trying to put a smile on, probably not easy to do when your friend pretty much just exploded. A boom of thunder and flash of lightning drown out AJ’s next words. “What!?” She gave the storm outside a good stink eye and repeated what she said, “I said, your power overloaded and you discharged it.” That made sense; too much power gotta let it go. Another thunder boom and lightning flash; “That is a strong storm out there, it wasn’t storming when the incident happened.” The truth hit me, “How long was I out for?” Everyone flinched at my question, they really didn’t want to answer it; Twilight answered me, “A whole week.” I was distraught with disbelief; “WHAT; how have I been out for a week!?” She gave me a look almost as if I had asked a stupid question, “You discharged power greater than anything we’ve seen so far, you caught yourself in the discharge knocking your systems out and you with it. You finally are back to normal which is why you woke up.” The hardness of her voice kind of shocked me, “Well now it seems so obvious!” I was apparently well enough for sarcasm. “Look we got bigger problems than just you right now! The storm raging outside, yeah it’s been this strong ever since you discharged!” Another shocker, “W-What?” She was beginning to seem almost angry with me. “When you discharged those clouds around you were affected causing them to grow and grow. Now Equestria is in trouble with all the flooding and lightning incidents!” A whole week of this storm; No wonder she was unhappy, this is probably stressing her out beyond belief. “The weather teams have tried stopping the storm but they can’t get close enough without getting struck with lightning! Even the royal sisters can’t stop it!” I thought this over and realized that there was someone who could stop it. “I can…” She must’ve thought she heard wrong. “Come again…?” I told her again very determined, “I can stop it!” She seemed to doubt that I was right, “How will you stop it?” She challenged me, something I don’t take lightly. “Just watch me.” Challenge accepted, I sprung from my bed and flew out the door; they all shouted “Nooo!” then turned to Twilight. “Why did ya do that Twi?” AJ seemed to be the most unhappy out of the bunch. “He was the one to make this mess so he’s going to fix it.” She seemed pretty certain of that fact. While they were squabbling I was busy flying towards the sight of where the incident happened; the Eye of the Storm. As I approached it I noticed the lightning became much more frequent, as well as the number of strikes passing near me. Eventually I reached the eye without being obliterated by lightning; it was ominous having rain to my side but no rain where I was flying. As I marveled at the sheer power of the storm I happened to miss the bolt that had just emerged and was heading straight towards me. It hit me but I didn’t go down, I merely began to absorb the power from the storm! Soon another bolt began feeding into me, and then another! The storm was losing power fast and was beginning to dissipate! Back on the homestead everyone was still quarreling; “You may have just sent him off to die Twi! He was a like a brother to me!” Twilight wasn’t listening anymore; she was paying attention to the storm outside, “Listen!” Everypony stopped to listen to what she was talking about, “I don’t hear anything Twilight.” Rainbow was right there wasn’t anything to hear. “Exactly; The Rain has stopped!” A collective gasp led to everypony dashing for the window, Rainbow was there first since she is the fastest. “Ohmigosh!” It isn’t often Rainbow Dash says ohmigosh, so she must’ve had a very good reason to and she sure did! She saw me up in the center of the storm being shocked and absorbing the storm! Eventually I absorbed enough energy to kill the storms lightning making it be officially over! Unfortunately I was now filled with all the energy I had previously released a week ago. Overwhelmed with the energy and attempting not to let it go I began to plummet towards the ground. As I fell I noticed a road nearby, I wonder how I missed it, but better was the fact that there was a metal sign post on that road! This was my chance, I had to get to that pole to release the energy into the ground just like my lightning pole! In a last ditch effort I unfurled my wings and glided towards the pole; I finally made it to the pole and may have over shot the landing a bit since I smacked right into it. Without a moment to spare I released the lightning into the pole and fainted without knowing if I’d saved everyone. Everyone in the homestead had seen what had happened but couldn’t see if I’d landed safely or hit the ground in a blaze of glory. “I hope he’s okay.” Applejack was distraught with worry and paced around the room whispering harshly to herself, “Please don’t be dead; You crazy mechanical idiot! … I like you too much for you to die.” Just then the door flew open and somepony walked in with me on his back. “Who the hay are you! And what have you done to Digital!” The stallion turned towards AJ and said, “I’m Cloud Crasher, and I’m saving my friend.” Author's Note I know, a little cliche that the OC can stop it. But I was having trouble thinking of another way to do it. :/ Also, add metal sound effect here, cause I love that sound effect. :D Part 9I was busy making a system for me to discharge energy into the ground making sure that the incident wouldn’t happen ever again when I saw Applejack run by my window. I leaned out the door and shouted, “Where are you off to in such a hurry?” She quickly turned around and replied in much haste, “There was a big flash that came from Twilight’s Library! I’m making sure everything is alright.” This was intriguing; a big flash could mean anything, I just hope that everypony is alright. “Alright, be sure to tell me about what happened.” I continued working on my discharge machine throughout the day not without distraction from the strange event. It was much later that night when Applejack came back, I let her inside and she made her way to the sofa; She seemed very frazzled from the day’s events. She explained that a creature from another dimension had come into our dimension and changed into a pony, and how he knew all about us from a show that he watched in his dimension. This was all very bewildering; I was having a hard time even understanding that there were other dimensions. Then she said something that brought my hopes through the roof, “He also had a machine that look a lot like your machine, except it doesn’t just sit there it does things.” Could it be; could he possibly have the final part of The Computer?! I had to find out for myself; “Where is he now?” She seemed curious, “He is at Rarity’s place. Why do you ask?” She must’ve noticed the grin appearing on my face, “If he has a working computer he might even have the software I’ve been looking around for so long for.” She broke into a grin just as big as mine. “That neva occurred to mah. I hope he does, it may just end your search!” We both excitedly babbled on about what The Computer may do once it had the software, but we soon realized how late it got. She left homeward bound and I retired to my room; I couldn’t sleep easily though, how could I when I may finally get to finish me and my parents life fulfilling work!? Morning rolled around all too quickly and I set out to find him. As noon rolled around I had seen so many ponies, but I hadn’t seen any that I hadn’t seen before. Until I saw a grey and black unicorn with a blue and yellow neon mane and one of the strangest things… he was wearing clothes. I knew this had to be the stallion, I would’ve remembered him had I seen him before.He was accompanied by a very joyous Lyra and a grumpy looking Bon Bon. I trotted up to say hello, “Hay there! I haven’t seen you around here before; are you new?” He chuckled, “Yeah I guess you could say that.” Lyra jumped in with a happy exclamation, “He’s from the human world!” That explained Lyra’s mood, “Really? That is awesome; I’m Digital Pwny by the way, you can call me Digi or Digit for short.” He gave me a nice smile, “I’m Xyclonic Wind, and you can call me Xyclone.” We shook hooves; he seemed a little odd about it though. “Sorry, still getting used to these hooves.” I laughed, “its fine, I’m pretty sure that changing appendages in one day will ensue some awkwardness.” He looked over to Lyra and Bon Bon, “You two go on ahead, and I’ll catch up to you.” Bon Bon was the first to speak; surprisingly. “It’d be my pleasure.” The two trotted off, Bon Bon giving Xyclone a look of hatred the entire way. “So Xyclone, I know this is a lot to ask for…” He gave me a look of curiosity, “And what might that be?” This was it, my one chance to finish the computer... “Applejack told me about your computer.” He seemed slightly surprised, “Really? I am surprised you two know what it is.” I chuckled, “Yeah I know, the only reason we know is because I am the first pony to try and create a computer.” He seemed genuinely shocked, “Really! I didn’t know ponies were making computers!” I laughed nervously, “Well not exactly, I’m the only one to make one as far as I know.” I finally got up the courage to ask him about the software, “I almost completed The Computer; unfortunately I am missing a very important piece of it, and its called software.” He nodded in understanding; at least he knew what I was talking about. “I know you have a working computer which means you must have software… do you get where I’m going with this?” He nodded again, “Your wanting to use the software from my world to finish your computer.” I nodded smiling sheepishly. “Well if that is all you need help yourself. The portal is just inside Twilight’s Library; the software should be in a disc on my shelf.” I couldn’t believe it; he was just offering it to me! “Thank you so much Xyclone! I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me!” He seemed happy enough to see me grinning from ear to ear. “Not a problem, anything for a friend of mine. I gotta catch up with Lyra and Bon Bon so I’ll see you later.” I was overwhelmed with joyous emotion, “Ok Xyclone! I’ll see you later. Have a good time in Ponyville.” He trotted off in the direction of Lyra and Bon Bon’s place and I made my way to Twilight’s library. Before I got out of ear shot he shouted a word of advice, “Don’t click any of the internet application quite yet, you don’t want to see them, trust me.” I took that into consideration and continued trotting towards my destination. As I approached the library I saw a very sad Rainbow Dash and a very unhappy Fluttershy take off; I wondered why they were so sad, but had to dismiss the thought and focus on my mission. I entered the library and was flabbergasted; there was another room right in the middle of the library! Upon further investigation I realized it was flat; it must be the portal! I stepped through and felt unnaturally weird. This place I had entered was much like our rooms back home, but far more advanced. There were electric lights, handheld tech, a computer, and even heating and cooling! I had to keep focused, even though it wasn’t easy with such amazing sights to be seen. I trotted over to the shelf and began looking for software. “No… no… no… maybe…? Ah!” I found it, it was called Microsoft Windows software. I picked it up but it slipped right out of my hoof. I attempted to pick it up again just to fail. I decided I must hold it in my mouth, and it didn’t taste good at all. I went back through the portal and rushed home to where I’d positioned The Computer. This was it the moment I’d been waiting for all my life. I had so many ponies to thank for it. Xyclone for giving me the most important and elusive part of The Computer, Trippy Hooves for always being positive and saving me from a bad fate in the High School, Applejack for letting me live in the tree house and looking out for me like a sister, Cloud Crasher for being my friend, getting me a job, and standing up for me against Butch, and yes even Butch helped me out somewhat by making Cloud Crasher my friend as well as Trippy Hooves. But most of all I have my parents to thank, for believing in me, providing for me, loving me, and most of all… abandoning me… if they hadn’t I wouldn’t have been the pony I am today, someday I hope to find them about my life and how they’ve made it happen; Only if I could. I returned my attention to The Computer put the disk in the tray and watched the little green install bar go up, once it was done I silently thanked everypony I knew for all their help and dedicated it to them. As the desktop loaded and the screen waited for me, I trotted forward, took hold of the mouse, and began the first step into the future. Author's Note yes this is referencing another story, yes that creature is a human. I don't really think humans should be in equestria but I wanted to include my friend who had a story that started with him as a human. I had to incorporate it. Also, I am not sure how real software works, if you'd like to tell me please do i'd like to know. :D EpilogueAfter finishing The Computer I wanted to show it to everyone who had made it possible, I was able to show it to Cloud Crasher and Trippy Hooves who were elated to see it finished and wanted to see what it did. I tried showing them all I could, the writing applications, presentation apps, even a few games and fun stuffs. They wanted to see Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome. But I had to disappoint them; we all weren’t ready for what it would show us. I wasn’t able to show Xyclone or any of the mane 6 because they had left on another adventure together. I know it wouldn’t be the last time I’d see Xyclone, I was sure of it! This was the story of how I became who I am today, not a long story, not a good story, but it’s a story; and I have many more to tell. Tales that will fascinate the senses and thrill the excite-o-meters! Just what will happen next to me and my friends I can never tell; Equestria is full of surprises and mysteries, and were going to solve them all. This story was just the First Spark, to the Roaring Flame. And we were in the middle of the inferno. Author's Note I know, this story wasn't well structured, written, or anything for that matter. But it's here so I hope maybe someone enjoyed. Part 3The next morning I awoke to the sound of guards stomping through the house. I rose from my bed, which didn’t seem quite as comfy and went to make my breakfast of oats and hay. I entered the kitchen to quite a sight. The guards were eating the food that is ours! “What are you doing!?” I yelled at them. They seemed quite startled to see me awake. “Oh! We were just making sure the intruders didn’t poison the food.” A guard stated quite quickly. I sighed with much disappointment at the state of Equestria’s defenders. “Sure you are, I’m just going to get my breakfast and go to school sound alright?” I asked not caring what they actually said. “Well before you go you need to talk to the filly out there in the suit.” Filly in a suit? What the hay is a filly in a suit here for? I quickly ate my breakfast and went to see this suited filly. It wasn’t hard to find her; she was sticking out like a sore wing in this crowd of armored guards. “Ah! There you are!” She exclaimed in a very strangely happy tone. “Umm, who are you, and why are you happy to see me?” I said very confused. “I’m Mrs. Ofrain; I’m here to talk to you about you parents.” She said, kind of losing the pep in her voice. “What about them! Have you found them!?” I asked getting quite excited at the possibility. “No sweetheart.” My smile faded fast, “Sorry, we are suspecting that your parents have either died (I did not like that statement at all) or they have abandoned you. (I liked that statement even less)” “THEY WOULDN’T ABANDON ME! THEY ARE ALIVE!!!” I cried out with full fury. “Calm down Digital! We just want to start thinking about the fact that your parents may not come back.” “THEY WILL COME BACK FOR ME! THEY LOVE ME AND I LOVE THEM!” I yelled tears streaming down my face. “We are putting you on the list of foals who lost their parent and need a new family.” I stopped and couldn’t believe my ears. “It is really for the best Digital, you need a family.” I was stunned, she wasn’t serious was she? By the look on her face I could tell she was. “I’m going to school.” Was all I could manage to say. This would be the final day before I saw Mrs. Ofrain or my house for a very long time. With plans set in motion and a heavy heart I flew off to school to tell my good friend my plans. Author's Note Formatting, formatting. Yup. Needs to be fixed. Part 8.5So as it turns out Cloud Crasher had come to Ponyville about 6 months ago, we just both didn’t have any idea that we were here. He works in the Ponyville weather management business which is why he found me. He was working with the other workers to try and get rid of the storm; that is when I did my whole lightning sap thing. Causing one of the workers, which happened to be Cloud, to the storms center to investigate. That is when he saw me ground the lightning with the pole and faint, he couldn’t believe it was me and immediately went down to help me; he then proceeded to take me to the nearest building, which was the Apple Homestead. I then told him about what happened to me all of this time. To say the least he was just happy to see me again. But before everyone left I asked them all a big favor, I needed to get this software soon or else something might happen to The Computer. They all agreed to tell me if someone had such a thing or may seem to have something like it. It really was good to have all these friends, I even patched things up with Twilight. (I think her plan was to motivate me to stop the storm.) But there were more ponies to come! And I needed a job, I was beginning to run out of room in that little tree house and needed a real home. Cloud Crasher actually helped me get into the Weather Managing business so I got a house in no time; or well at least a year that is. Time kept passing; the mane six went on more and more adventures, I became closer with my friends and the six as well, and Twilight actually became a princess! It took a very long time but finally someone who might have this fabled software finally showed up. The catch; he was from another dimension. Author's Note I know, I MADE AN 8.5!? I am not happy about it either, but it didn't go on it's own and couldn't tie in with the end of the other chapter. Oops. XP Also, this is a separate thing from the show entirely.
Part 1It was the year 1998 in the city of Cloudsdale when Equestria was graced with the greatest treasure of all, me.
Part 6For a couple of weeks passed and I got more and more settled in to the tree house everything was great, I’d even made friends with a couple of ponies. One day I heard a noise while I was fast asleep. I decided to dismiss the noise and continue sleeping. That was before I realized that I heard a voice approaching the tree house! I jumped up and flew to the empty chest in the corner of the room. I quickly opened the chest and jumped inside. Just as I did the door flew open and a filly entered the tree house. I was terrified that she would find me and make me go back to Cloudsdale. I just lay there and covered my face hoping I would be impossible to find. “What the hay? Who’s been sleep’n in mah tree house?” Whoever it was she had a very country accent. I remained silent in fear of discovery. She moved around almost as if she seemed to be searching for something. “What’s that?” I cringed, she found me! Hoofsteps leave my vicinity and go over to where my saddlebags were laying. I hear a clasp unlock as she looks inside my saddlebags. “What are these doo dads?” OH NO SHE FOUND MY COMPUTER PARTS! “DON’T TOUCH THOSE!” I yelled bursting out of the chest. “DEAR CELESTIA! Who the hay are you!?” Good job Digital, really stealthy. “Umm…. Uhhhh…” I was really scared and couldn’t say anything. “What’s the mattah? Cat got yer tongue?” I didn’t know what to say. “Well! Say someth’n!” She startled me with her sudden demand. “Please don’t touch those.” She looked at me and then to the foreign pieces of machinery in the saddle bag. “Oh! Uh, sorry partner.” I was relieved; the ice seemed to have finally broken. “Thanks, they are one of a kind.” She seemed surprised. “Really? They all look the same tah mah.” "Well you see that is the CPU and that there is the motherboard and that there…” I glanced up to see that she was looking at me with a confused look of great intensity. “Uhh… oh… um… sorry.” I was just a little bit embarrassed that I went on about a thing that no one understood but my family. “It’s alright. I’m Applejack, nice to meet ya” I was glad she forgot about the whole living in your tree house thing. “I’m Digital Pwny, nice to meet you as well.” She looked eyed me and looked at our surroundings. “So why the hay are ya living in mah tree house!” So much for forgetting. “Well… you see… *sigh*” She looked concerned, “You alright?” I knew I had to tell her everything, so I told her the story of how I came to be here. I was surprised that she has listened to it all. “So now you know, and if you want to tell the guards where I am go ahead, but I will just get away again no matter what…” She looked at me with much pity. “I won’t tell anypony, You just stay as long as you need.” I was shocked! “W-w-what?” I couldn’t believe it. “No pony has ever been so nice to me… besides my parents and friends. But a random stranger… I… I…” She cut me off, “Don’t worry about it Digital, it’s what friends do.” From then on me and Applejack were friends. As time passed I slowly gathered pieces, materials and tools to build the computer. I was able to finish the monitor, CPU tower, and an empty battery. Applejack would visit every day and talk with a while, as well as bring me a couple of apples. One day she came but seemed a little lackluster, she told me she wasn’t happy farming and that she was going to go try living with her Aunt and Uncle Orange in the city of Manehattan. I was sad to see her go but she needed to do what she needed to do. After she left I constructed a pole that would attract a source of power for the battery, I called it a lighting pole. I installed it on top of the tree house in hopes that it would charge the battery when lightning struck. The next few days were boring; all I did was set up The Computer and get ready for a storm. What happened next I didn’t know could’ve happened. It was a normal day, I was tweaking with The Computer and setting it up with new safety measures. When it happened!. There was a loud BOOM! I could’ve swore it was as loud as a bomb! I looked out of the window and saw the most amazing thing. An array of colors spread through the sky in a ring! The radiance and magnificence shown by this rainbow ring was astonishing. I sat there staring for minutes on end. When I realized the ring was getting closer and closer! I thought it couldn’t have been dangerous at all. Well… it wasn’t exactly harmless. It began to shake the tree house violently and I heard a strange energy sound. Only later would I know what that sound was. Because outside my lightning pole was being thrashed about in the force as well as absorbing energy from the rainbow ring! It was pulsating with spectral colors in a brilliant dance. The energy made its way down into the battery with a brilliant light show! Multicolored bolts of energy arced around the room as the battery filled with strange rainbow energy. Finally all settled down. The battery completely filled with a radiant glow. It had been charged with rainbow energy! I observed the strange battery with hopes of finding out how it came to be the way it was. But to no avail. All there was left to do is but the battery into the CPU tower. When I did the machine began to shake and colors began to fly from inside the machine. I closed the CPU tower and stood back watching the machine trash about in a brilliant array of colors. It finally settled down and began whirring and beeping. I looked out the window at the rainbow ring as it began to dissipate. “Thank you.” I said to whom or what made the ring. Then another flash, I looked back at The Computer but it hadn’t made the light. I realized it was my cutie mark! I had built technology, the first like it in Equestria, and that was reflected in my cutie mark. I was overjoyed. I then remembered that The Computer is sitting over in the corner waiting for me. I trotted over and plugged the monitor into the CPU tower. A little green blip appeared on the screen and displayed a message. “Please install software” This was confusing. “What the hay is software?” I wouldn’t know till much later in the story. The only problem is I was approaching High School age. Which means I’d have to take a break from The Computer. Applejack came back home too, she had gotten her cutie mark while she was gone. She said a rainbow had led her back home where she belongs. She noticed mine and I told her the story behind it as well. All was well in my life. Author's Note I don't know how to do a country accent sorry. ^^;
Part 7My High School years were definitely not the best part of my life.
Part 9I was busy making a system for me to discharge energy into the ground making sure that the incident wouldn’t happen ever again when I saw Applejack run by my window. :D
EpilogueAfter finishing The Computer I wanted to show it to everyone who had made it possible, I was able to show it to Cloud Crasher and Trippy Hooves who were elated to see it finished and wanted to see what it did.
