Tragic Beginnings

The Princess walked slowly around her room with a sickly grin. The lights were dim, and it was barely possible to see anything. In the center of the room was a small, feeble stallion tied by his hooves.  Her maniacal laughter filled the room, and every time she finished a circle, she moved closer to him. Distressed by her presence, the stallion cowered and, in between shivers, hid his face behind his wet mane. Chasing Dreams stopped, and walked over to him. She lifted his chin gently with her hoof. "Now now, my dear, stop being so nervous."

The pony began to stop shaking. He was starting to think of Chasing differently, he thought she was a normal mare who just wanted to help. He began to disbelieve the stories. He gave her a soft smile. Chasing smirked in response, and lifted his head even more. "We wouldn't want the cut to be so jagged due to your movements, would we?"

The stallion's smile faded, and he gulped. "W-wh-" And with that, Chasing Dreams lowered her head to slit his throat, her sharp horn dragging over his skin roughly. The cut was straight and perfect, blood beginning to droop down his fur and to the floor.

The stallion dropped lifelessly to the floor, his eyes still wide with fear.

Five ponies were hidden away in a bunker, all around a small table with maps spread carelessly.

A pegasus stallion piped up. "We need more supplies. We have the appropriate amount of bits for two weeks, although we need a plan."

The unicorn nodded. "We need a diversion to avoid the princess." Using his magic, he picked up a pencil and drew a line around the town, from the bunker to the market. "This route is pretty safe. We avoid all of her dangerous alleyways, and we must, I repeat, must volunteer a pegasus. Now, it's either you, Postcard, or Velvet Sky. Which of you shall go?"

Postcard sighed. "I'll do it, Vicinity. I'm not saying you're weak, Velvet, but I know how to get around these streets quickly. It is- well, was my job."

Velvet Sky scoffed. "I can operate planes though."

Vicinity shook his head. "I think a plane would be a little too obvious. A pegasus on his own wouldn't be."

"Fine," Velvet Sky agreed. "Whatever you say."

Postcard nodded, smiling. "Right, I'll get to it in the morning. We have enough supplies for dinner, correct?"

From halfway across the room, there was a little kitchen area. There was a small voice belonging to an earth pony mare that piped up. "Yep, Just enough for breakfast too." She smiled over to them, continuing her cooking.

Postcard gave a smile back. "Brilliant!" He got to his hoooves and walked over to her. "How's the cooking going?"

Scenic Sublime nodded. "It's all good, but it needs a little something."

"Oh no, don't add any more flavouring unless it's needed. We need all the food supply to stay at maximum level." Postcard said sternly, opening his wings in a sense of leadership.

"Okay, Post. Whatever." She continued her cooking.
