//-------------------------------------------------------// Both Sides of an Eclipse -by That Twisted Brony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One Chapter One Today's the day! Eclipsus thought to him self. He had just awoken in his white room covered in artwork he had made to make it seem, not so white. He entered the hallway and into the dinning room. Some of the patients sat at the table munching at their breakfast. Two mares sat in the corner and laughed at the joke they shared between one another. The others, he thought, must be in there rooms. He trotted over to the nurses station, “Anyone here yet?” “Eclipsus! Good morning, I'm sorry but no. The social worker says she needs to talk to you about it,” Eclipsus' hopes crashed into the ground. “I am getting out today, Right?” “As far as we know,” “Oh, well, where is the social wor-” “Eclipsus!” a voice called out. That must be her he thought. He turned around to see a well dressed mare with a bright blue mane. She smelled heavily like old pony perfume. “Hi there, can we talk for a minute?” “Uhm, yeah, I guess,” They both walked down the hall and into a small office room. The walls littered with family photos of the social worker. “I have unfortunate news to tell you, Eclipsus,” Oh no, he thought to him self. “Your parents will not be picking you up today, I'm sure you remember the interview with the other case worker about your parents and lack of communication?” “Uh, yeah,” “Well they never did try to contact us, and do to law, if a patient under the required age of consent loses contact with their parents or guardians for over a year, it is marked as abandonment,” “What!? Why, how, can I-” “Calm down Eclipsus, The Royal Court of Canterlot has agreed to take one-hundred percent custody,” “Its, its not the same! My family can't be gone! No,” “Please try to understand that if your parents do come back to get you, they can issue a presence with the Princess and ask for custody,” Eclipsus didn't say a word. He looked at the walls and pictures of the social worker. There were some of them in front of the ocean and some of them at a football game. One of them stuck out to Eclipsus. It was of the social worker laying in a hospital bed, and in her arms were a filly. A mother and child. Something Eclipsus didn't have any more. The love of family had abandoned him. His mother had abandoned him. Eclipsus then saw her. The one that had him put in the nut house. Miss, the one that showed her self when he was going down the path of insanity. Her eyes cold as ice and her mane, made of shadows. He knew he had to ignore her, for if he didn't they would prolong his stay more. So close to release, he couldn't let that happen. He looked at the social worker. “Who is coming to get me then?” “Celestia sent a high member of the court to retrieve you. Once out, you're going to the Canterlot Castle to discuss more,” she winked “I've always wanted to go there, your very honored to go there, and in the presence of the princess herself,” It didn't seem like an honor, his family was gone and he had just become property. A toy, Miss said his ear, And like a child, they're going to break you, then, throw you away. Maybe, and if they did, he wouldn't mind. “I'm going to pack, if you'll excuse me,” he nodded and walked off into the ward. The social worker sat back, deep inside she felt sorry for him. Just then, a pony with a black suit and glasses walked into the room. He had a serious look on his mug. “Princess Twilight has arrived to pick up Eclipsus,” “The Princess?” “Yes, the courts usually send a case worker. There's something special about him they see,” The social worker had a blank look on her face. The stallion in the suit sat down, “and I bet my right hoof its got something to do with 'Miss'.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two Chapter Two The darkness enveloped Eclipsus. He couldn't see anything, not even his hoof in front of him. Then there was a blinding light. Once his eyes adjusted, he saw a fireplace in front of him. He turned and saw his family sitting in the living space of the house they used to live in. His mother, with her pink coat and bright pink mane, sat next to his father. He had a dark green mane and orange coat. They stared at him and he stared back. “Why did you leave me?” Eclipsus asked, “What did I do? Am I a bad son?” They just stared, silent. “They know the darkness you posses. The evil of me and you if we work together!” Just then, a blaze of fire swept through the room causing Eclipsus' parents to crumble into ashes. The room changed and before him sat the Canterlot Castle. Only, toppled off of its mountain perch. Half of it consumed in flames and the rest in ruins. He looked down and saw the crown Celestia wore around her head. Then Miss showed again, “The only thing that keeps us apart is the attention your getting from the royal courts and that damned Celestia!” She smashed the crown beneath her hoof. “Eclipsus, the only way your going to find your parents is with my help,” “No! You're nothing but an illusion made by my illness, your a disease and soon, you'll fade away,” “Oh, but that's where you're wrong. You see I'm only getting stronger, and soon even you won't be able to control me. I'm warning you, if you don't allow us to come together, the wrld you have come to know WILL END!!” An explosion caused the scene before him to vaporize. Then all at once feelings of hate, sorrow, and anger flowed through him. He then saw himself in third person view. His body grew, his wings spread out like that of a bat, and his hooves turned to claws. A pool of blood surrounded him and he turned. “AAAAAHHHHHH!” Eclipsus cried out. All the ponies on the train looked at him in concern. “Are you ok?” Twilight asked. “Yeah, sorry just a bad dream,” “He's not going crazy is he?” Spike threw in. Twilight just kneed him in the shoulder. “Ouch!” “How long until we're there?” Eclipsus asked ignoring Spike's question. “About thirty minutes, you slept a good seventy-five percent of the trip,” she faked a laugh. “What exactly is going to happen to me Princess?” “Please just call me Twilight,” “OK, Twilight,” “I don't know exactly, but don't worry. I trust princess Celestia, and I know that what ever happens, you'll be happy,” “I wish it were that easy,” He turned in his seat and looked out the window. In the distance was Canterlot Castle and the city of Canterlot bellow it. No matter how he looked at it, how beautiful it really was, he couldn't get the vision of it in ruins out of his head. He sighed and turned to Spike. “So, how did you get to become Twilight's assistant?” Spike grew a happy look and explained the rest of the way of how he was hatched by Twilight. However, Eclipsus didn't truly listen. All he could think was why this had to happen to him and why Miss had chosen him. All he did know was that Celestia had a lot to explain. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Prologue It was a peaceful morning. All the birds, just awakening, swarmed the yards to get their breakfast. A light fog covered the ground and the grass was covered in dew. Celestia's sun hadn't arose yet, but that didn't stop the ponies of Ponyville from going to their jobs. Some of them, mostly older folk, sat in coffee shops and conversed to their spouses of their lives. Twilight Sparkle was sound asleep when Spike, her dragon aid, entered her room and switched on the lights. “Uggh, Spike, turn the light off!” Her words didn't phase the purple and green dragon. “Twi, it's a letter from the Princess,” “What for? Is something wrong?” Twilight enveloped the scroll in magic and opened it. After a few moments of silence Twilight grew a confused look, glanced at Spike, and read the note once more. It read: My dearest Princess Twilight, I am sorry to awaken you at such an early hour but I have a particular favor to ask of you. A young pegasus named Eclipsus has recently been released from Peace Meadow Asylum. Usually, the patients that are released from there that are younger go into the custody of their parents. Unfortunately, some time last year, his parents somehow vanished and there are no other family members known to take him. Now, because of the parents lack of effort and time gap from any known contact, Eclipsus is now in custody of the Canterlot Royal Court. I am in need of you to receive him from Peace Meadows and bring him to Canterlot. I have sent you tickets to Fillydelphia to pick up Eclipsus, and tickets to bring him to Canterlot for further decisions regarding his future. Thank you very much for your faithful assistance. I look forward to seeing you soon. -Princess Celestia “Whats going on?” Spike asked. “We need to pack. Make sure these tickets don't get lost.” “Where are we going?” “To Phillydelphia,”
