Among the many gossipers of Equestria, there is one rumor that never seems to die. They say that there is a pony who lives in Canterlot that conducts experiments on ponies without anyone finding out. They say he is building and army. Some say he's simply a madman who toys with genetics for fun. But, do Celestia and Luna, the two ponies who seem to know nearly everything, really not know about this? Could it be they allow such atrocities? One day, Twilight and her friends are called to Canterlot. Among those in the room, are Shining Armor and Cadence. But who are those other ponies? On this day, they will know the truth. What they decide to do next, is entirely up to them... but there's just one thing that's been bothering Twilight, will friendship really solve their problems this time?
