This salad tastes funny. . . . .
Twilight hummed quietly to herself as she walked through the forest, trying to ignore the weird shapes that grew even in the daylight. 'Focus Twilight,' she thought to herself. 'You're only here to grab that plant you say. Then you can leave.' Quickly turning around, she ran face-first into a tree, tripped over a root and into a puddle of water. She mentally grinned 'Perfect! So the flower should be right around . . . there!' her purple eyes locked onto the strange looking plant.
Standing up, the purple mare ran over before picking the plant up with her magic and teleporting back to her home. "Phew!" She said as she held the plant in her magical grip. Bringing it closer to her face, twilight inspected it further.
It was set on a bright, unnatural green stem with oddly soft leaves growing outward and wrapping around the plant like ribbons. The bud was a neon pink with strange question mark-like petals and a dark blue middle. Twilight beamed as she examined the flower's appearance. "I was right!" She said aloud. "It's the Forget-Me-Flower! Haha! Oh I can't wait to study this rare plant's magical properties!"
A large growl from her stomach cut off the rest of her thoughts. She giggled nervously to herself. "I guess I have to eat before I study this. . ." Being extremely careful, she used her magic to put the Forget-Me-Flower in a small pot and put it in the fridge. 'They thrive in cold weather,' she reminded herself. 'That's why this one is a rare specimen.'
"Spike!" She yelled upstairs. One second . . . .two seconds . . . three seconds . . . then she heard his footsteps on the wooden stairs rush towards her.
"Yeah Twilight?" He said calmly.
"Umm . . . could you please make me a salad? I'm starving."
The small drake saluted to the unicorn. "Yes mam!" Twilight giggled before trotting towards the table. A couple minutes later Spike came rushing out of the kitchen wearing a chefs hat and carrying a salad in his claw. "Here you go Twilight! Hope you like it!" She smiled at Spike.
"Oh Spike I love everything you cook." He blushed.
"Tell me how it is anyway." The unicorn mare giggled lightly before levitating the fork of salad into her mouth and eating it. A frown crossed her lips.
"This is a very funny tasting salad." She mumbled to herself. "Spike what did you put in this salad?"
Frowning slightly, Spike said "Umm lettuce, tomatoes, some hay," the mare continued to frown at the strange salad before noticing the strange pink object hidden underneath some lettuce. "And there was this weird flower in the fridge so I used that too."
An awkward silence echoed throughout the room.
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!" Twilight yelled before suddenly stiffening up and falling on the floor.
"TWILIGHT! Are you okay?!" The young drake yelled as he ran over to the purple mare. Suddenly her eyes opened wide and stared back at the dragon.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! LIZARD THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed before jumping on the celing like a cat, hanging there without magic.
Spike frowned at Twilight. "Are you okay Twilight?" Twilight frowned at him.
"Who's Twilight?! Stay away talking lizard or I'll bite you!"
