Purple moon

When the news had stated that the moon was purple lain had laugh out loud, but a streak of curiosity had hit him and he need to catch up on history any way. "Purple". Lain was the only at the house it was like him to be depressed but the moons purple beauty had struck him hard. "History can alway wait when history can be made" lain and his family had become aquatinted with saggy depressed lain but never had gotton around to ask him why he was. To calm himself he made these quotes when the time was right. A tear had formed and lain was not sure why. Lain wasn't alone, he was with his dog Harley. He was out on the terrace with Lain, Harley was the friend that never let go or gave up on him, he love Harley so much. "Why" was the only thing he could utter when he had came back to his senses. "HISTORY!" He ran to his room while looking at the clock on his way, his parents and his and brother would be back in an hour. By the time he was finish he had 30 minutes left to watch the moon once again. But the moon had struck him with its beauty. Lain was going to cry when a flash of purple had formed around him and his dog. The beam didn't hurt but it felt like it was taking away his energy. When the ripping of energy stopped he was in a great wide open field.

"Lain what happened to you this time?" Lain only had one thought left before he blacked out... "Harley?"

When Lain had finally awoke he was in a room lit by a single candle on a cupboard, he had noticed noises coming from behind two giant wooden doors.

"Sister, is the creature awake?"

"I do not know let me check on our Friend in there."

"Friend, he was out in the gardens unconscious and in great pain and smacked a guard while dreaming, I will not call this creature "Friend" just yet." Lain was wide awake now and was trying to figure out where he was. Suddenly blinding light seeped through a open crack in the huge doors. A small sigh that was barely hearable echo ed in the room, it was too late to pretend to be asleep he had to face whoever or whatever took him in.

"I'm glad to see you awake friend, I hope the bed was comfortable enough for you given your umm, let's say unique species." "Luna! Come let us meet with our friend here." Lain was in awe by the speech of his caretakers, by the sound of it he could guess he was in a castle or something. "Creature what is your name!" The voice was harsh like a threat so lain covered himself with the large pink blanket he was given. Trembling he managed to barley stutter his name, " m m m my name is Lain, I'm a h h h human not a creature, w w who are you...?" The quiet voice had started once more calming lain as he trembled he had no view of who was talking but knew who was who.

"I'm sorry for my sisters greeting, my name is Celestia and this is my sister, Luna, it is nice to meet you Lain. Lain was so happy with kind voice, no one but his parents acted like this to him. "It's nice to meet you t-" Lain was cut off when he had raised his head the two figures in front of him were not what he had expected. "Y y y you two are.... ALICORNS!" Lain had started to panic now and had jumped out of the bed. He wasn't sure where he'd go but he knew was running out of the room, and he was going to get out but was stopped by the door closing and a dark blue aura that had surrounded him. He was flipping out now, his feet floated off the ground and when the aura faded he was in the bed once more.

" please, lain I know you might be startled but let us help you, and to help we need you to calm down." After this he started to calm himself but was still on edge, Celestias voice was peaceful and very relaxed. Now was a perfect time to look over his caretakers Celestia was pure white with a long flowing mane and tail which were the colors of a sunset, Luna was dark blue with also a flowing mane and tail which were a beautiful starry night, he noticed Luna was also studying him as well. With a loud sigh and lots of remarks from Luna I might add, Lain was given an explanation of where the crap he was.

"So..." Lain was hoping the two "princesses would start a conversation, silence would turn him insane soon, but Lain was still astonished by the hospitality and kindness towards such a saggy depressed creature, then lain realized that part hadn't shown yet and he was determined to keep it hidden.

"Lain are you hungry at all? Come with us." Celestia motioned to him to come along and Lain followed.

Twilight was in the cafeteria when Celestia had come in, Twilight was called to Canterlot by the princeses. Using her new alicorn magic she teleported in the throne room and was told to wait in the castle cafeteria. Luna had come and sat next twilight explaining the situation, when Celestia sat down she asked if Luna would go get there "friend" from the hallway, the creature before her was as tense as she was.

Lain did not like Luna as a friend, but still had a mysterious respect for her, it was because of her royalty or because of the same reason why he was tense... HE WAS IN A WORLD WITH ******* TALKING, MAGICAL, FLYING, PONIES. He was still taking it all in. Lain was not worried on how to get back home at the moment but more on making ally's, good ones. Luna came back to the entrance to where Lain could only guess was a cafeteria.

"Lain, accompany us to the cafeteria, my sister would like to discuss with you about a place to stay.

"Luna, when the guards found me, was there a dog with me?"

"Yes he was badly hurt so we took him to Fluttershy of Ponyville. Thine dog will be fine there."

Lain was so relived by the news, Harley was the only thing in his life that kept him sane. Hopefully he'd see him soon.

Lain's point of view :)

When I entered the cafeteria I was greeted by Celestia and another alicorn. Putting my mind in study mode I could look over this alicorn with no questions asked and no awkwardness. With a lavender coat and bangs over her horn the alicorn was definitely the same age as me. she also was tense, like cook an egg on her forehead tense, probably because this was an alien to pony situation.

"Twilight, this is Lain, is there anything you have on your mind? You seem rather, stressed." It didn't make me any happier about the situation but the small alicorn's next actions would get me hoofed in the gut later, or whatever these ponys call it.

"W w w well, Celestia, I just want to know why you called me for, I thought you need a personal preference on the magic of friend ship not show me your new pet." Pet,PET, PPPPEEEETTTT! Is that what she thought I was, I didn't mind the hospitality but rreeeaaalllyy, a PET! That's when I got up right in her, umm, muzzle I guess.

"Oh I'm the pet am I, well I'm perfectly capable of taking care of my self!" Now that she was stunned I did the most stupid thing I could've done... I flicked her horn. WABAM, like I said hoof in gut. A royal guard saw this a sent me a flying across the room, not the smartest thing to do but... Well I got nothing.

"What the buck do you think your doing to Twily you thing! I swear I can kill you if I have to! GET UP AND TALK YOU BEAST, IVE SLAYED MUCH BIGGER THINGS THAN YOU!!" Now it was my turn to get mad, again, I was tired of being the odd one out.

"ALL OF YOU STILL HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL ME NAMES, I AM A HUMAN, A CIVILIZED BEING, NOT A PET NOR CREATURE!!!!"

"Both of you stop now!" Celestia was standing over us, boy was she mad, I didn't feel right making her angry, it didn't feel right.

" I I'm sorry princess, don't know what got ahold of me. I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me." I could feel it, yep here I comes aaannnndddd bam. The dam broke, my dam is very strong it doesn't break easily, but when it does I'm crying for things that happened five years ago that I didn't cry about then. Again I ran I didn't know where but I know I saw a library somewhere in this dang place. It didn't help that my tears were blocking my vision. I managed to find the stupid library, still tears were gorging out my eyes, for now I guess I could read something. Nothing really caught my eye, I fricken finally managed to stop crying, it was worthless crying anymore I needed it out of my system. Then I heard hoof steps, nonononnonono I can't face that guard again nor the princess. The anger in the guards face was horrid, I just couldn't face the fact that I'm now an outlaw. I could repun again but how do I run from magic guards, I could hide but where?

"What the buck! Ugh I just need to be where my mind can rest from whatever just happened." It was the small lavender one, should I go apologize, oh god what do I do. Fine I think it's the only way not to get in the slammer. Is is going to suck. SMACK. Crraapp, a giant stack of books fell. The alicorn is coming over, I think it's time to face the music.

"Oh geez look at this mess, there's no wind in here, hmm." Well this is it I guess there's no better time then now, we're alone anyway, ok Lain time to suck it up.

"Hello, Twily was it I'm sorry w-." A blast of I guess magic energy hit and hit me harder than Babe Ruth hit home runs.

"You hit my horn you jerk, then you have the nerve to yell at my brother then run away and call me Twily. ONLY MY BROTHER CALLS ME TWILY YOU FREAK.". I couldn't hear anything else, I was head deep in books and my vision was starting to phase in and out, it was like the beam was hitting me but not as strong. And like that I was out.

Celestia's point of view

His face, the tears in his eyes, I've only seen that pained look in one other pony. I see it every time I look at my sister ever since the nightmare moon incident, she been an outcast, like Lain, but Lain was not native to this planet. And I didn't think getting frustrated would cause such an outbreak in him, he went to burning mad to sadness that made anypony feel sorry. Something else caused this, his eye spoke to me, it wasn't just "I don't know what got into me." No, there was more to his story, his eyes told me so.

"Sister, why are thou crying? What troubles you?".

"Luna did you see it, that pain and sorrow in his face, please tell me you saw?"

"Dear Tia, what do you mean? We didn't see anything but Lain weeping but we didn't see anything."

"I'm afraid Luna, I really am, his eyes tell me there is more to his story than we think."

Right then my faithful student came back to the cafeteria, she had a worried look and had some pony on her back. I almost fainted when I saw, it was Lain, what happened, why is he old cold, did he... No he wouldn't, what ever happened Twilight can explain.

"Twilight what happened to Lain!". She had a sorry look in her eyes, did she do this?

"Princess, I... I'm sorry, I didn't know I hit him that hard, h he's out cold.". Right then Lain started to squirm violently, I'm glad that he's alive but what's going on in there I need to know. I look over at Luna, she sees my concern and disappears.

Lain's dream in Luna's point of view and she talks normal

I don't trust this human but I can't disobey my sister, so I go in to the head of a human, I want to find out what's really in here.

Just like most of the dreams I go its dark spooky Yada Yada, whatever I'm the princess of the night, I'm used to darkness whether it's dreams or real. Finally a door materializes in front of me, and what I hear from the other side is something I've heard before... Crying... I've heard it from me I cry all the time but this was forced crying, I had to see this for my self. I take hold of the dream and make a window and place it by the door, I don't want to starlet any pony behind the door ... I look inside and see my self. I was in my room on the bed just crying my heart out, I could hear another voice as well.

"Human, step forth." Dream Luna got out of bed and trotted to the door, she had trouble but got herself to stop crying, why was she going obviously I was not a human. Then the door opened but I was replaced by Lain, he looked at me and kept walking, when he stopped in the darkness the voice started to speak once more.

"Lain the human, do you know why your here?". Lain sighed and looked out into the dark.

"Sir, I do not know why you brought me here but please tell me Harley is ok.". What a selfless question, was Lain not concerned how to get back to his world?

"Human, your dog is safe, go forth to ponyville. Fluttershy is his caretaker, also Twilight sparkle is your caretaker now, you will be living with her in Ponyville.".

"But sir I-"

"Human, no buts about it. YOU, PONY IN THE CORNER GO NOW, TELL YOUR SISTER EVERYTHING YOU HEARD!". The voice was louder then the royal Canterlot voice. I had to tell Tia. I focused my magic and was off.

Luna hadn't been gone almost 2 minutes when she arrived into the infirmary. Twilight and I took Lain here, it was was the only sensible thing to do, well the only thing we could think of. She came in and explained everything that happened in his dream.

Lain's dream in Lain position

I woke up in my room, my earth room. Was it all a dream, was it just a pointless dream, no it... It was too real. I tried to stand up but instantly fell back on tail... WAIT TAIL!??! I look down, not what I wanted to see.

"Why the buck am I Luna, why did I say buck, what going on, why why why w-". Gosh darn! Once again I broke, dang I could water three football fields.

"HUMAN, why do you cry?" Who was that, of course I'm fricken crying, IM A GIRL ALICORN!

"Human, I'm aware of your transformation, I'm sorry to see you don't realize the lesson, and yes I can read your thoughts.".

"What do you mean by lesson, did you do this!?".

"Human step outside and and you shall get one question answer.". Could I trust this dude, well I need to make it count. I stand like a pony and awkwardly step outside.

"And do not mention this dream to any pony.".

"Human, come forth!".

Lain's point of view

"Lain, wake up, please wake up my little human.". As I fade back to reality I hear Celestia's voice again, how long was I even out?

"Celestia, wha what happen, I need to say sorry to to to, oh come on what was her name!". Then I hear her voice.

"My name is Twilight sparkle, and I need to say sorry I put you in that state of spasm!".

"It's ok princess sparkle, I flicked your horn I deserved it, and don't say I didn't.". This was getting awkward.

"Twilight I have a quest for you." Celestia had started talking once more "I need you to take Lain to Ponyville he has a companion waiting for I'm, also I need him to stay with you.".

"I understand princess.". Twilight had just accepted the demand like nothing, even after what I did to her. I guess I've made my first friend in Equestria. And besides Harley, it's my first one ever. It feels amazing.

Introductions

Lain's point of view. It's all Lain today

It was almost time to head for twilights house, thank goodness my little nap took long enough for it to night. The dream man told me Harley was in Ponyville, man I can't wait.

"Twilight, do you know a Fluttershy, the Princesses say Harley is with her."

"Know her, she's one of my best friends, but I must warn you, she can be really shy at times so I suggest you wait at my house, I can get Harley for you.". We had nothing else to say, what is there to say anyways? Two pegusi came up to us pulling a chariot, man Celestia knows how to get around with swag. Twilight stepped in, I wasn't sure about it, if it was a chariot, why pegusi, she said earth ponies were the muscle.

"Lain, are you ok, it might not be a perfect fit but it'll be fine." Fine whatever, what can go wrong. After I got in the two guards lifted off, I was fricken flying in a chariot... WHAT HAPPEN TO PHYSICS?

"AaaahhhhhAAHHHHHH! Twilight help me!!!!"

"Lain calm down it'll be over soon trust me.". She put a hoof over my shoulder, again the feeling that I had a friend came once more, oh what a wonderful feeling. After some more flying and freaking out we arrived at Twilights town.

"Ugh, Twilight, I'm... I'm gonna barf.".

"Oh come on Lain it wasn't that bad was it?". Oh how I wanted to be sarcastic but after what was going on it was hardly the right time. After some more walking/trotting we reached her house, or should I say library. No wonder, she went to castle library to clear her thoughts.

"Just come on in, I left it unlocked.".

"Ok, I'm ready for some shut eye, just cause I had a nap doesn't mean I'm still tired.". She looked back at me with a fake smile, dang it she still thinks it was her fault.

"Oh, (yyyaaaaawwwwnnnn) is that you Twlight, I was wondering when you'd get back.". Hmm, was Twilight already housing someone? I don't mind but I hope they don't snore.

"Spike, come on down, I'd like you to meet L-.".

"Twilight, look out!" A green flame was coming at me, I couldn't see and it felt like I was been whipped through the air. When the flame dispersed, I fell down on Celestia.

"Oh geez princess I I'm sorry!".

"It's ok Lain just, I thought it was a letter from Twilight, she didn't kick you out did she?".

"Umm, I think spike did it. Dang, how am I calm about this?". This made her chuckle a bit, but I seriously have no idea how I'm not freaking out.

"I suppose I should get another chariot ready for you.". Oh no, I can't do that again!

"Princess, please tell me me there is a different way back to Ponyville, without flying.". Please, I can't do that again.

"I could teleport you there if you'd like?". Bingo, I'm loving magic!

"If I isn't any trouble, yes, I'd like that.". There was a long pause.

"Lain, about that dream, what happened in there?". Crap, I can't tell her, one, he said not to, and two, being Luna was embarrassing.

"Oh, it was nothing, just a dream that's all...". Nice save Mr.Smooth. She eye me suspiciously before giving in.

"Ok... Shall we get started? It might feel weird, I've only teleported ponies before.".

"I don't mind, I'm ready for the Celestia express!".

"Haha, oh I just don't know what's gonna come out of that mouth of yours. Good bye Lain.".

"Good bye princess!". A bright flash blinded me as she focused her magic on me. She was right It did feel weird, the only other magic I encountered was Luna's and Twilights. After the light faded I was back in Twilight's library. With a startled pony and a... HOLY CRAP A DRAGON!!

"Twilight... why is there a... tiny fire breathing dragon... In a wooden library?".

"Lain, this is Spike... Spike, this is Lain.". The baby dragon eyed me before walking over and extend his claw out. I had to bend down to shake it.

"So, your the one that made me body slam Celestia huh?". This was even funnier out load than I my head I even fell down laughing, Spike was on the floor with me as well.

"You, you, you body slammed her?". Dang was it that funny? He could barely get that out.

"Well, I think that's enough excitement for one day. We need to get some shut for Lain's introduction to the town.". She was right, it was time for shut eye.

Next dream sequence.

I woke up, again I was in my room. As Luna, AGAIN!

"Ok, dream dude it was funny the first time!". Then I heard a voice I hated and loved, it spoke with hate. It was my mom.

"Lain, are you ok? Keep it down in there!". Geez even in a dream I hated her. Since this was a dream I could do anything I wanted. I stood up and trotted to the door.

"Lain, what happened to you?". It was my brother, who was laughing at my dream alicorn form. Hate started to well up.

"Well Christopher, if you must know, I'm now a bucking god!". Still saying buck? Why? Is that the pony counterpart of ****?

"You... Get out... Get out of here.". My dad was standing over me... with a knife.

"But daddy I-.".

"Son or not, no freak like you will live on this planet!". Then he jumped on me, grabbed my mane... And stabbed.

Back to reality...

"LAIN, WAKE UP! PLEASE!". It was Twilight, light was coming through the window, a new day in my new life. I sit up and look at Twilight, she was cowering in the corner.

"Twilight! What did I do? I'm sorry whatever I said I didn't mean it!". She stopped cowering and trotted over to me. She came in and gave me a hug.

"I'm glad your back.". Oh no, what did I say during that nightmare? She stopped the hug and trotted over to the stairs.

"Now come on, Spike's cooking pancakes!". Oh boy, I'm so hungry, and that smell down stairs is amazing! I slept with my clothes on. Knowing there the only clothes I brought. All I brought was a pair of socks, plaid pajamas, a white t-shirt, and sneakers because I couldn't go out onto the terrace without them. Wait... How did she recover so quickly?

"We'll go morning Lain, sheesh you look awful.". He was right, that dream didn't help much at all.

"Lain why don't I take you to town hall to introduce yourself to every pony?".

"You know what? That sounds wonderful!". It did, it really did.

It was early enough for us to make it to town hall before anyone was awake. Man, Ponyville is beautiful in the morning, then only thing wrong was I reminded me of my old town before the move to the city. We came up to a big building in the middle of the town square or I should say circle.

"Wait here Lain, I'll call you in when I've explained everything to Mayor mare.". I looked at her puzzled.

"Why'd you say Mayor twice?". But she was already inside. The sun rise was beautiful, the birds were stating to sing and bunnies were hoping around.

"Lain, you can come I now.". I walk into the building, sitting with Twilight is a Mare Earth pony. She had a brown coat, a grey mane, and glasses. She took my hand with her hooves and shook it wildly.

"Let me be the first to say how glad I am to meet you, it's not everyday an alien moves into or quiet little town!". Wow, not what I saw coming.

"Don't you worry sir I'm gonna put in a good word in for you at the town meeting.". Wow the whole town? I just hope I don't have to give a speech.

"Let's do it at 3:00, does that work?".

"That sounds great Madame.".

"Oh just call me Mayor mare.". Why is everyone saying it twice?

"Well, me and lain should get back before anyponys awake.".

"Ok, goodbye!".

When we got back Twilight slammed the door behind me, she had a look seriousness in her eyes and her magic began pulling me downstairs into some kind of... Lab?

"Umm, whatcha doing?". She looked up at me with studying eyes. She now had a pony lab coat and had strapped me into a machine faster than I ran when I heard wreaking ball!

"Twilight what are you doing!??!".

"I'm just running some tests, don't worry, it'll be fine.". Sure tell that to every crazy scientist on T.V.

"Your anatomy is so interesting, tell me how do you perform your magic?". Oh no, this might get wierd...

"I'm sorry Twilight but magic doesn't exist on my planet.". Here already big eyes widened and her mouth gasped.

"WHAT! How did humans ever survive?".

"We have more advanced technogy with phones, cars, planes, and ugh... More comfy test tables.". She started to blush on this, it was kind-a cute... Hey in an animal kind of way... Shut up.

"Please tell me more!". Oh my. Well this might take a while

After a few hours of explanations on tech and such it was finally time for my grand town introduction! Yay... Twilight teleported us inside the mayors office

"So this is it my new life huh? Pony world.". Twilight just rolled her eyes

"If your gonna live here please call it Equestria, and I'm sure the princesses are doing everything they can.". I knew this was true, but I also know that it won't be a hop, skip, and jump away.

"Ok Lain I've got them all riled up and haven't mentioned what species you are. Go get'me!". She never mentioned my species? Well I never mentioned it to her. Well it's time no going back... I walk out and the ponies stare in disbelief, they're afraid of me.

"Hello, my name is Lain, I'm a human from a planet called Earth.". The whispers... The whispers. They were along the lines of... Oh wait, they were whispers. It wasn't long until a yellow Pegasus with long pink hair spoke up.

"Umm... Sorry for asking... But do you have a dog?". A smile swept across my face. Did she have him, did she really have him?

"Yes I do! The princesses said he was here. I can't wait to see him! Are you Fluttershy?". A smile swept across her face to, she flew over to me and grabbed my hand.

"You like animals too? Oh boy, come come! He can't stop talking about you.". Wait, what did she say? Oh I don't care, IM COMING HARLEY!!!!

Harley

Twilights point of view

What just happened? One moment he was there the next gone.

"Twilight, is that thing staying with you, it seems pretty cool... But not as cool as me, Rainbow Dash!". Oh, her and her ego.

"His name is Lain, and he's a Human not a thing.". This made me shudder, that was not pleasant.

"Well, you gonna show him to are other friends? They were busy so they weren't at the meeting. We could scare them!". I glared up at her, she noticed and hovered down and landed.

"Fine! We'll introduce him personally, but it looks he already met Fluttershy.".

"What do you mean?".

"You didn't see? She asked if he had a dog and Galloped away with'm.". Oh wow, she's never done that before, that was Pinkie's thing. How did we even avoid Pinkie for this long?

"Come on Rainbow, he's not the type that can take much in. We need to get him before he meets Pinkie, or if he sees one of Fluttershys bears!".

"Oh come on Twilight whats wrong about seeing one of her bears? They're scary at first but they mean no harm.".

"You don't understand! On his planet, bears are more, hostile...". She gave me a suspicious look, I don't want to go over that again.

"What do you mean more hostile?".

"Ok but don't freak out, ok?".

"Come on, I can take it, lay it on me.". She had no idea...

Lain's point of view

Best. News. EVA!! She had him! He was fine! Oh I'm so happy! But my lungs are going to explode soon I need to slow down.

"Huuuugh, F F Fluttershy can huuuugh, can we slow down?". She made a immediate stop and look up at me.

"I'm sorry Lain we can slow down... I'm sorry...". Oh no I've made another pony sad because of my human limitations.

"It's ok Fluttershy, besides I would like to know more about you. What do you do for a living?".

"I take care animals like... Bunnies, birds, dogs, cats, and Bears. Of course there's more but I don't want to bore you.". I stop in my tracks. Did she? No, mabye she did. Ya she did.

"You take care of bears!?".

"Ya! There so cute when they sleep. Do you like bears?".

"Um... And the bears don't try to eat you?".

"Oh heavens no! Why would they?". I don't want this conversation, but if see a bear I trust her. She was taking care of Harley anyways. After some traded story's we reached her cottage. She had bird houses, chicken coops, and... Gulp, bears.

"Come on in, I'll go get Harley.". Oh yay! Harley was my best friend, the one that fell if you fell, happy if you were happy, and angry if you were angry. I can remember all the times we spent together, and how much he hated my family just as much as I did. But then I hear Fluttershy.

"Come on Harley he's right over here.". She flys the room unaccompanied but I see a head pop out of the hallway. It's him.

"Oh Harley! Come here boy! ". He sees me and runs full speed and jumps... And being a German Shepard he is it hurt. He then starts whining, barking, and kissing me, I'm gonna suffocate soon.

"He says he missed you so much!". What? I give her a puzzled look, she notices and points at the picture on her... Flank I presume?

"My Cutie mark is animals... If you probably didn't guess. But it goes beyond taking care of them, I can communicate with them.".

"Is that what those things are? I thought everyone just got really strange tattoos.".

"What's a tattoo?".

"It's nothing Important, the important thing is that I'm with Harley.". I once again resume the loving that me and Harley give each other. Then there was a knock on the door.

"I told you not to freak out Rainbow!". Then there was another voice, it was a girls voice but was scratchy like a tomboy.

"But those bears eat meat! Whatever, let's never speak about it again!".

Lain's point of view

So far the names of this freaking planet just keep getting weirder and wackier! Rainbow Dash? what kind of name is that?

"I wanna see it!". Sheesh, I'm a celebrity now huh? Wait... Did she say it?

"I'm a he!". I yell to her from the other room, bad idea. Instantly after I said this a cyan blur rushes in the room. When the blur stops, it forms a cyan blue Pegusus with a rainbow mane and tail, well... That explains the name. She then starts going off onto a strand of Oh my gosh's.

"Rainbow calm down, I mean... If you want to...". Fluttershy entered the room once more and was followed in by Twilight. Then Twilight ran up to me.

"Lain! Don't run off like that! You've gotta tell me where your going!".

"Twilight, calm down, besides look how I found!". Harley than ran up to Twilight, and gave her a giant kiss strait across her muzzle.

"Haha! Well Harley, seems like you've made a friend.". He then gives Fluttershy and Rainbow the same thing. And it was hilarious. Rainbow wasn't so happy about it.

"Eeeewwwww, you call off you're slobber monster.".

"He's got a name ya know.". Sheesh, how many more ponies are gonna be like this. Twilight then grabs me and Harley's whole body with magic like Luna did and floated us out of the room.

"Come on Lain I'm gonna get you outta here before the... other Lain, gets out.". Oh no, my other side has a name? But once again, like in the castle library... the magic Twilight was giving me started ripping away my energy.

Luna's point of view

I could feel it, the same weird magical energy spike that happened when the human started dreaming. Let me lo-... Yes he's out cold like before... What keeps cause this? Only one way to find out!

Lain's dream in Luna's point of view

Aha! I'm in, why is it dark? After some walking I come to the two doors that were the entrance to Tia and I's old castle, it seem every question I throw into him being here I bucking get more! Then I here my sisters voice from the other side, I press my ear against the door and listen.

Lain's dream in Lain's point of view

"Lain, get up, I have important things to discuss with you.". It was Celestia, I thought I was going to talk with that one guy...

"Celestia? What are you doing here, and where is here?". She has a light laugh at this, I'm being serious!

"I used some of Luna's dream magic to get in here. This is our old castle that is now deep in the Everfree forest. Why you're asleep in the middle of my day I have no idea.". Old castle in a forest that I have no idea where it's at, seems legit. I stand up and walkover to the princess.

"So, princess, what would you like to discuss? I'm all ears.".

"Strait to the point are we, I like that". Hmm something wasn't right, what did she have to say? She was being very serious... I didn't think that about her, it must be something very important if she was like this.

"First I would like to say I'm sorry... We haven't made any progress on getting you back home.". She lowered her head, what a sight, then she brought it back up.

"I'm sorry but the way back home isn't a step, gallop, and jump away.".

"WELL OF COURSE IT ISNT!". I jumped on her and gave her the biggest hug I could give. Then I jump down and bowed

"Celestia. Goddess of the sun. I request to be an Equestrian for the rest of my days!". She sat there, bewildered by my actions. I admit, it probably caught her off guard. Then she snapped out of her state and smiled.

"Request granted!".

"Thank you, now what was the other thing you would like to discuss?". She then went from her happy shocked state and went back to formal.

"Thank you for reminding me. In the Everfree forest there is a Zebra by the name Zecora, she is skilled with potion making and medicine. I have sent a letter to Twilight to take you there, she has a potion for you. I know that you can not have magic flow through you, it would kill you but if we were to... Alter your form a bit, we could change that.". What? Alter my form?

"What do you mean, alter my form.". She again laughed at me.

"Lain, human, and now Equestrian, you will soon find out.". Then her horn started to glow and the dream started to rip apart.

Back to reality

I wake up to Harley licking my face, l love him so much. After he had quit my surroundings were clear, I was in a hospital in a room with a dog and three mares asleep in chairs. It was a gosh darn CUTENESS OVERLOAD! I attempt to stand up, I fail... Instead I realize that when your energy has been torn out of your body you can't stand up! So I hit the floor with a loud THUMP.

"Who what when were why how.". It was Twilight, perfect now I can get that potion.

"Good. Twilight, I need a huuuuuuge fav-". I was then being hugged to death by my favorite mare... Again shut up.

"Lain! Your alright, what happen?".

"I'd love to catch up but I would really like to go see Zecora now, please.". I looked at her with pleading eyes thinking it would work but it didn't.

"How do you know about that!?".

"Twilight, that isn't important right now, I'll explain on the way, I'll right a note so when Rainbow and Fluttershy wake up they'll know where we are.". I guess she saw my determination and gave up.

"Fine! But you owe me!".

After the note and an explanation we were at the edge of the forest, it didn't look all that bad. On the way she told me about what goes on in there but it seemed normally to me ironically.

"So, you ready?". She obviously didn't want to go in but nothing can stop me we when I get going! I'm on fire baby!

"Do you know what kind of potion this is at all?". I looked her in the eyes and with all my heart and soul told her the truth.

"Not a clue." I then laughed and started down the trail. I heard a moan and hoof meeting face. Haha,like I said when I get going I can't be stopped! After some spooks along the trail we reach a hut with creepy masks on the walls. Also on the porch there was a flask and a note. I grabbed it and read out loud.

Dear Twilight

I'm sorry for being late but I have a very important date. Take the potion and give it to the human before bed, it will be less painful while he rests his head.

I look over at Twilight and she gave me a worried look. When we got back to the library I had nothing else to say. I looked over at the potion. You know what? Why the **** not! I took the flask and drank it all, then I shut my eyes and fell to my bed.

Omg! Two dreams in one chapter!

I opened my eyes to a dark abyss. I couldn't move nether did I want to... A wolf made out of wood had appeared. It had started to circle me as I struggled to run. Then by luck my strength broke the dreams magic hold and I started to run, and the monster ran after me. The darkness seemed to turned into a forest and I was dodging trees and swimming to get away from this beast. But my human lungs came to a stop, I couldn't keep going, it was too fast, then it caught me. I landed face down, the beast then cuts open my back and rips out my shoulder blades. The pain is unbearable, I gonna die! Then the wolf stops and disappears and is replaced by Luna, she starts reading a piece of paper.

"Lain. Species:human. Race: pegusi.". Then the feathers on her wings start rapidly falling off and start to cover my body. I can't breath, move, or scream. Then it all goes dark.

Back to reality.

"FFFFF*************** THAT HURTS SO ******* MUCH!!!! TWILIGHT HELP ME IT HURTS SO MUUUCH!". No words can describe the pain! This cry for help woke Twilight and spike.

"PLEASE TWILIGHT HELP MEEEEE!!!!"

"Lain! What's wrong!??!". She then eyed my back.

"Oh. My. Celestia.". I then felt it stop like nothing was going on. I couldn't feel anything but a slight ache in my back. Twilights horn was glowing and she looked like she was really struggling with the spell. When she stopped she fell over. Spike, who was watching my back intently ran over to his fallen sister.

"S s s spike? What's wrong with my back?". He then looked at it and fainted as well. So I guess I'll have to look my self. I hop out of the bed, I noticed I had a new feeling in my back. I walk over to the mirror... Turn around... And scream at the top of my mother******* lungs.

"CELESTIA I ******* TRUSTED YOU!!". When I turned around my ripped shirt reveled two dark blue wings... Large enough for a human. Once again a ran, I just ran out into the night... But I knew where I was going this time. I was going to the one pony's shoulder I knew I could cry over, Fluttershy. After some uncontrollable crying and running I reach her humble cottage, my crying woke some chicken who started to squawk at the strange winged creature before them. This also stirred a certain Pegasus awake.

Fluttershys point of view.

Oh no, that poor chicken must of had a bad dream. When I came closer to the door I could also hear crying, when I opened the door a winged creature entered my house, it was crying its heart out, the poor thing. When I went to help I recognized its face, oh my Celestia!

"Lain, what happen to you?". When I expected an answer Lain grabbed me and started to cry even harder on my Shoulder. I don't know what to do, I've never dealt with a human before! Then he managed to start stuttering.

"Magic, dream, Celestia, Everfree, potion, PAAAAIIIINNN!". Oh my, what has happened since the hospital? He left that note to say where they went but I didn't know exactly what they went to Zecora's for. Is this what Twilight was talking about other Lain?

"Why? Why would she do this to me?". Who did what now? Oh nonononnonono! He's getting worse! I need to help. I then do the only think I can do, I hug him, pet him, and pat him on the back. What else could I do, I hope he doesn't think I'm treating him as an animal. He seems to have calm down now.

"I'm a freak now. Im now not meant for two worlds Futtershy, I'm an outcast again! What do I do Fluttershy?". What? Somepony wants my advise?

"Lain, your not a freak.".

"Yes I am Fluttershy, look at me, I'm a monster!". I hug him, being carful of his wings and say with the sweetest voice I could muster.

"Monsters don't have friends like me.". He then looked up at me.

"But I basically just met you, how am I your friend?".

"Because, I'm the element of Kindness, it what I do.". I look him in the eyes, he's in no condition to walk or even speak right now.

"Lain... Would you like to stay at my cottage tonight.". He slowly looks up and nods.

"Ok, I'll set up the couch for you just stay here.". When I come back into the room I find him on the floor with his wings folding and unfolding with every breath. I pick him up, put him on the couch, and cover him up. I look over at the now grumpy angel.

"Angel if you cuddle with Lain tonight I promise I will give you that tasty salad sundae for lunch. He needs the extra love, please angel... He needs it.". At the mention of the sundae Angel starts to snuggle up in Lain covers and I see a smile go over Lain's face. That's the kind of thing I live for.

In the morning I find Harley in the cottage staring at Lain with worried eyes. How long has he been awake? Harley notices me and walks over.

"Fluttershy, what happened to Lain? Why does he have wing??". He shoots me a pleading look, there passed out on the couch was not only his master, but his best friend as well.

"I'm sorry Harley, but until Lain wakes up we won't have an answer yet.".

"Thanks for taking care of him Fluttershy. I don't know how many times I was the only thing for him to turn to, the only thing to love, his best and only friend.". He started to whimper and cry but I stopped him.

"Now, don't start. We won't want to wake Lain up do we? Now would you like some breakfast?". There it is, Harley's tongue started to water at the thought of food. He was like that when Luna brought him to me. After a well deserved breakfast we hear yawning from the living room.

"It wasn't a dream huh? I'm still... a freak...". He wasn't afraid to show how sad he was. What was I it he said? "Not meant for two worlds.".? I can't even imagine what he's going through! Lain then walks into the kitchen and notices Harley.

"Harley? What are you doing here buddy? Come here!". Lain bent down with trouble at first because of his probably aching new wings. Harley doesn't hesitate to run to his friend and bombard him with kisses.

"Fluttershy... I'm so thankful for you taking care of Harley... And thank you for letting me borrow your shoulder last night.".

"What are friends for Lain.". I smile at him and he smiles back but the smile soon disappears.

"I just can't help the fact that I'm a freak now.".

"Lain, you are not, and never will be freak!". He tumbled backwards, shocked by my sudden outburst, I was shocked as well.

"I'm sorry if I startled you...". Where did that burst of energy come from? He then came in for another hug.

"Thank you Fluttershy. I couldn't have gone through the night without you.". I hug him back, but I hear him yelp in pain.

"Ow! Fluttershy, wings.". I look at his back and see my hooves are over his wings, but not that hard. Then I had the perfect idea, now that he has wings he's gonna love this.

"Lain, would you like me to massage your wings? I mean... If you want me to.".

"Fluttershy, that's the best news I've had in a while.". He looks at me with a smug, I don't understand humans yet, but I'd have to say he's been through a lot before he came to Equestria. Maybe I can get him to share his past with me.

"Ok Lain follow me to the living room and I'll get started.". When I started he started to wince at the pain.

"Ooooooo, right there, pooh that feels great. I didn't think I would have knots in my wings.".

"Yeah, wings have knots. I usually get them out when I go to the spa with Rarity.".

"Who's Rarity?".

"Has Pinkie not introduced you to everypony?".

"Who's Pinkie?" Wow! He hasn't met all of my friends yet? Not even Pinkie, how did he avoid her for so long?

"You'll meet them sooner or later for now just let me take of your wings. Your in good hooves Lain.". When I was finished I sat across from him. We sat there for a while before he spoke up.

"Thanks Fluttershy, I think I should join you on your next spa trip. Man, I hope Twilight and spike are ok.". He then sat up quickly.

"Oh my gosh! Fluttershy come on we need to check back on Twilight and spike!".

"Why? What's wrong, did something happen?".

"I think she was using some spell to try to stop the pain. It worked but she also fainted, and when she fainted spike looked at my wings and fainted to! Come on we need to go!".

An old friend with more clues to the past.

So Lain got himself in another pickle eh? Well the wings will be nice but they won't help when I'm fighting for him. It seem he's found an old friend here as well. For a puny human he can have one big adventure ahead of him if he plays his cards right, which he never does. That's what I had admired about Lain, his thirst for a good fight and adventure. But he lost that feeling the day he found me. I was just a pile of his own rage when he got knocked out that faithful day my Lain disappeared. That day... The Lain I observed was gone, his kindness, his loyalty, his honesty, his laughter, his generosity, and his magic... All gone.

Lain's point of view

As we headed for the infirmary I notice Luna continually looking at me. It's like when you look at someone and when they look at you you look away. But Luna didn't stop there, I was getting angry looks from her, I start giving her looks too. This continued for some time before we arrived at his room.

"If you guys don't mind, I would like to go in first. Has he been awake since he arrived?".

"Negative, your friend has been sleeping very all day."

"Good. I would like to explain things to him myself, I'm the only one he'd listen to. Back before the move, I was a fatherly figure to him.". Twilight seemed interested in this new piece of my history but Celestia shrugged her off before she could continue.

"Twilight, before you ask let Lain go explain thing to his friend.".

"Fine... But I'll get history outta you soon. Mark my words.".

"Sorry Twi, I don't have any paper.". This made a big laugh go through me and princesses as I walked into the door. There he is, he's still just as cute as he was when I left him 2 years ago. I walk over to his bed and kneel down. He must be seven now, I can't wait to catch up.

"Hey little buddy you gonna wake up, wake up you little rascal.". He started to cough and stir awake at this sound of my voice, he opens his eyes and with up.

"Where am I!?". He starts to scan the room, then his eyes look at me and he falls out of bed.

"You still aren't that graceful after two whole years are you?". He sat right back up and backed up into the corner.

"Your not real! Lain went away forever, he said so!". I stand up and start to walk over towards him. He puts up his fists.

"Now now, I know I said forever but... Here I am. I don't know how we are both here but it's really me.". He reaches out to me and I grab his hand.

"Hey! Let go!". I'm stronger than him so his pulls are useless. I pull him into a hug.

"It's been too long Nolan. Too long.". He gasps and hugs back.

"Lain! It's really you! Where in the world are we?".

"Nolan, don't freak out but we aren't on Earth. But I know you'll like this part.". He stops hugging me and looks up.

"WHAT!!!! Earth, mom, sis, wha! How am I gonna like this at all!? HOW!?". My wings suddenly spread out.

"This world has magic!". That was it. I think I broke him. How did I move my wings?

"Are... Those... Wait... MAGIC! I love magic!". Nope he's fine. But here come the big finish. I tell him everything.

"That... Is... awesome!". That's Nolan for you. He's basically a mini me personality wise, well he's a mini me before the move. He was just about as high as my waist, he had blue eyes, black shortcut hair, and glasses.

"Now, when we go outside treat the ponies like humans ok?". I don't want to embarrass him, and me.

"I know Lain. I'm seven now.". When we step outside the three alicorns are gone. Where could they be? I see a guard watching us so to make things awkward for Nolan I ask if he'll ask the guard where the princesses are. He's reluctant at first but he goes over there. After he comes back he shows me a map of the castle the guard gave him. After some twists and turns we reach our destination.

"Royal castle archives. Oh Twi is having a hay day in there I betcha.". As we try to step inside two guards block the way.

"Stop right there! We can not allow any entrance to the Archives. Step aside.".

"Is this because I'm human you racist.". The guards both crack after that, I'm bombarded with an explanation of castle rules. While they're distracted, I wink at Nolan and he runs inside. It was a little trick we learnt back we I was still living in the country. Let's see how his focus is after two years, probably as bad as mine.

Nolan's point of view

In a world with talking ponies and my "feels like a father to me" friend has wings. Seems legit. I wonder how Lain's gonna get past those guard ponies, that's what makes him so cool! He wits and strength make him unstoppable, I remember we took a short cut home through an alley way in town. We got cornered by three, three big guys he took them out like nothing! I reach into my pocket and pull out my little nerf gun, how it's in my pocket I have no idea but it's there. I also have four other bullets, I load one in, pull back the air thing, and let it fly. I hear the familiar sticking noise and start towards it, then I hear three other voices.

"What is this thing.". Hey whoever that is has my bullet! I run into a open area and with me are two big ponies and a smaller one, they all three have wings and horns. They're all three looking at me.

"Umm hi? That's mine by the way.". Point towards my bullet that's floating in the air. The small purple one speaks up.

"How did you get in here?".

"A ninja never reveals his secrets.". The blue one starts whispering something to the really big white one. So I decided to strike a conversation with the small one.

"So... What's your name?". She gets up, trots over and extends her hoof.

"My name is Twilight Sparkle, what's yours?". I reach out and shake it, it was awkward.

"Nolan, nice to meet cha.". Right then Lain walked into the room. The blue one jumped at him and tackled him.

"Human! How did you get in the royal archives!?". Lain, being the amazingly AWSOME guy his, pushes her off and stands up without a scratch. Then he smiled and started to laugh.

Lain's point of view

I need to have the old me back to show Nolan that I'm still the Lain he used to know. And when I left I promised myself he would never meet the Lain that went to the city, he would see that his Lain never changed. As I walk into the archives I can hear them plain as day, it echoes in here like nuts. When I find them Luna surprises me and tackles me to the soft carpet.

"Human! How did you get in the royal archives!?". I push her off, stand up, and laugh the way I would've done back then.

"Oh my dear Luna, you'd be surprised how many doors are opened when you accuse someone of racism. Your guards are too smart to let me think of a plan from afar, so I did the next best thing.". I walk over to one of the shelves and start to skim. All these are spells made by some guy named Starswirled the bearded.

"Umm, who's Starswirled the bearded?". At the mention of his name Twilight stops talking to Nolan and runs over to me.

"He's only the most important unicorn in Equestrian history! He made all the spells you see on these shelves!". I start to skim some more while Nolan and Twilight talk about magic. Speed spell, height spell, hair spell, what the... Youth spell? As I look for a invisibility spell I get a feeling that someone is watching me, seems every minute the old Lain come more and more. The one watching me is none other then Celestia. She didn't notice that I saw her yet.

"You know it impolite to stare Celestia.". I heard her hooves as she came over.

"I apologize Lain but, I can't help but notice that you look tired, have you slept at all.".

"A famous inventor once said humans can learn to go without sleep, so I've been awake since last night. It's no big deal.".

"It is to a big deal, you look as if you could fall at any moment. You need to sleep Lain.".

"I can't, Nolan needs me right now, I can't go to sleep until I know he is acquainted with the ponies.".

"Lain... Go to sleep.". I turn and walk the other way.

"No. Celestia, I just can't right now.". And with that I was back to skimming through the old spells. Being curious I close my eyes and pull out a scroll. I take it back to the table where Nolan and Twilight are talking about magic, they seem very caught up in the subject. As I read the description, I hear Luna behind me, everyone's hooves has a certain clip clop noise making it easy to know who's who. I'm still looking down at the scroll when I address her.

"Hello there Luna, are you having a nice evening?".

"How did you know it was me?".

"I will never forget the sound of your hooves Luna.". I stand up and start towards where I got the scroll.

"Something about you is very intriguing human. Tell me more about thine self.". Memories of my past have been locked away, never to be remembered by anyone but me.

"Luna. As much as I respect you, I can not tell you my past until I am ready to relive such stains.". As I continue walking I hear a scowl coming from behind me, I have two out of three princesses that like me. As I look around some more I run into a pony, we both hit the floor. I sat up first.

"I'm so sorry! Let me help you.". I reach down and pull the pony back up.

"Thank you sir, I'm looking for the pony called Lain do you know where he is?".

"He just ran into you.". The pony was surprised by this.

"Oh! I thought... Never mind, I have a letter for you from Ponyville.". He reaches into a saddle bag and pulls out a letter.

"Thank you sir, again I'm sorry about the harsh introduction.". I walk to a nearby table and sit down. I opened the envelope and read out load:

Dear Lain,

Hello, it's me Rainbow dash. Thank you for bringing Twilight and spike to the hospital. I just want to say that if you need anything from the fastest flyer in Equestria then ring me up.

P.S. Pinkie has your welcome party ready for you when you get back. WHOOT WHOOT!

"Lain, can I go see Ponyville?". I jump at his voice. Nolan can do that, but he ain't a ninja. I turn around to see him and Twilight. Twilight speaks up.

"Nolan would like it better there, we need to get going anyways.". I nod and stand up. It's been a long night, I hope my body can hold out for just a little longer... So... Tired.

Just a walk through town

Ahh, it feels nice to be back in Ponyville, and to see such a pretty sunrise. I've notice that the Celestia's sun and Luna's moon are much bigger than the ones back home.

"Ya know Twi? I like it here, it really feels like home here.". She looks back at me with a confused look.

"How?".

"Well look around and turn on your imagination. It's beautiful and back home we lived more in the country, it was quiet like this, pretty like this, and I'm sure the market gets crowded the most on Sundays.". Nolan wriggled around in my arms. As we came up to the library ponies were starting to come outside. We stepped inside quietly trying not to wake up Spike.

"I'm gonna put sleepy head in bed. I'll be down in a minute.". I put Nolan in my bed and headed asked Twilight for a map of the town.

"Uhh sure here you go, just be safe and be back by lunch.". I roll my eyes.

"Ok mom. Just keep Nolan entertained, I sure him and Spike will get along nicely.". I step through the door a start to walk towards where he map says is the market. As I'm walking I see that the ponies are almost completely oblivious to my presence. I guess I'm already part of the family.

"Hey Lain! Over here!". I turn to see one of Twilight's friends waving at me. I can't remember who it is but I walk over anyway.

"Howdy Lain, I see you an early riser like ma self.".

"Ya, I used to take a walk through our neighborhood back on earth. They say the sunrise is prettier then the sunset.".

"Well they would be right. So, how are ya coping with bein the only one of yer kind?".

"Pretty well, I'm now not the only human here since last night.". Her eyes widened at the news.

"How many is there?".

"Just one, he's back at the library with Twilight. He's very open minded, so far I can't see a hint of sadness.". It was true, not many things phased Nolan.

"What's his name? How old is e?".

"Nolan is just seven years old. He's got such a big imagination as well, so young and free that child.". We both share a playful laugh.

"Ya know, I've got a little sis that's seven as well back home, maybe we should get them together some time.".

"We should we should.".

"Well I better git goin, I gotta open up the Apple cart.". Applejack! That's her name, Applejack! Uh duh!

"Ok, see you later.".

"Bye!". I start off towards town square. As I'm walking I'm actually getting hellos, good mornings, and etc. these ponies sure do know how to accept a new species. Hmm that reminds me, Rainbow Dash said someone had a welcome party for me, I wonder who? I look down at the map and see a bakery called Sugarcube corner, I'll go there later. I guess I could just walk. I sit down on one the benches, surprisingly they're very comfortable. After a while of looking at the map I shove it in my pocket and decide to drop by Fluttershys. I start marching but I'm tackled to the ground.

"Oh, I'm sorry mister, I just don't know what went wrong.". I open my to see a grey Pegasus helping me get back to my feet.

"Oh! Hi Derpy! How have you been!?". I almost cringe at saying her named, it still didn't feel right.

"I've been better, I late for work. Umm I've gotta fly but here's my address. Come over some time, we can talk over some muffins.".

"Ok, that sounds nice, see you later.". She flys off, that reminds me. Maybe Fluttershy can help get used to these wings. After a while I reach her Cottage. I knock on the door, a few seconds later she opens the door.

"Hi Lain, did you come for Harley?". Oh! That's right, I left him here we we ran to help Twilight.

"Ya, and I was wondering if you could help me with some other things.".

"Oh sure come on in.". I walk inside and I'm greeted with my best friends happy face.

"So what was the other thing you need help with?".

"Oh. I was wondering if you could teach me how to fly.". My wings make a sudden flap. "And maybe tell me how to move them on my own. She then hides behind her and mumbles something.

"What was that?". She says it a little louder but I can't hear her.

"I little louder please?".

"I said, I'm not really good at flying.".

"Why not? You're a Pegasus aren't you?". She looks down.

"Sure that sounds fine.". She comes out of her mane with a cheery smile.

"Thanks again for the help Lain, it was nice of you for stopping by.". She gives me a hug and I start for town square to see if anything sparks my interest. I now have Harley with me. I think I'll head for that Sugarcube corner with Nolan sometime this week. As I walk into town square I see quite a few different shops. I look down at Harley.

"Where should we head first bud?". He looks over at one of the buildings, it's a music shop.

"Ok, I did give you a choice.". I walk insides leaving Harley to wait outside. The cashier is a unicorn with a wild blue mane.

"Aww yeah! Human dude, wazzup! Hoof bump me bro!". She sticks out her hoof, I guess this is like a fist bump. I bump her hoof and she makes a kapow noise to go with it.

"So what brings the human to Vinyl's record shop?

I see a school house and decide to walk over and check it out, I might have to send Nolan there soon. As I get closer I see who I believe is the teacher. I walk up and say hi.

"It's a nice day were having isn't it miss.". She turns around and smiles.

"It sure is sir.".

"So are you the teacher here?".

"It sure is, all those fillies can be quite the handful though.".

"I imagine that's what it's like when I was in six grade we drove the teacher mad. She threatened to hang by our toes if we didn't stop talking, it she shut a lot of mouths.". She laughs while I just crack a smile, memories, you gotta love em or hate em.

An unexpected arrival! (Say the title like the Pokemon show would)

Celestia's point of view.

"Luna! In time we will question him, but now is not the time! We need to let him recover first!".

"We've given the human plenty of time to get used to being here! Why are we giving him more!?". I do not like to fight with Luna, and usually it's about something small like more Guard, raising the sun and moon, or other small things. But this was different.

"Well? I expect an explanation Tia!". Then we heard a crash. A very loud crash coming from my room which was only accessible by flight or grapples.

"What was that!?".

"I don't know Luna, hurry lets find out.". When we opened the door the damage was already done. Whoever was here had smashed my birch desk in two. And when we walked in we heard a small inhales and exhales of air... Like how a Foal or small filly would breath. And there it was the "pony" who trashed my desk...

"Luna, call for Lain immediately!".

"But-".

"No buts go send for him now!". Luna was about to get answers.

Lain's point of view.

As we burst into the library my lungs were about to explode. Me and Fluttershy find them right where I left them. I can't believe I just left them here!

"(Wheeze) come on Fluttershy. (huff) I'll get them to the hospital, you get friends, they'll want to be there.". She noded and flew out the door. Wow for a small alicorn Twilight isn't that heavy, but when you run the whole time she gets heavier and heavier, and wings don't fricken help. As I burst through the hospital doors I can't even breath without having a coughing fit.

"Please *cough cough wheeze*! Someone help me please!". A unicorn ran up and grabbed them both and started towards a door, when I tried to follow an Earth pony blocked my path.

"Sir, I'm sorry but you are not authorized and are in no condition to go any further.".

"Let me (wheeze!) through!". I just left them on the floor! I can't leave them now!

"I'm sorry but I can't, go to the waiting room! We will call for you when they're awake.". Fine! I probably need to sit down anyways. I go back and sit on the floor, the seats were made for pony's, not a winged human freak. I notice the other pony's in the room staring at me. Right when I was gonna speak up a unicorn filly came up to me.

"Mister? Why do you have wings now? I saw you speak that day and you didn't have wings then.". Aww, I thought the cuteness couldn't go any further. The filly was a light purple-ish with blonde hair, and no cutie mark.

"Princess Celestia told Zecora to give me a potion, and when I drank it it gave me wings, end of story.".

"That was a short story mister.". Ugh, if there's death by cute, then I have died over and over.

"Please, call me Lain.".

"My name is Dinky mister Lain.". Dinky? Really. Ok, I give up, if one pony has a normal name, I will eat a dandelion sandwich.

"Well Dinky, what are you doing here?".

"I'm just waiting for my mommy. She's having a check up and she said she trusted me to wait in the lobby! Oh hey look there she is, I can't wait for you to meet her.". What I saw was not what I expected, it was a grey coated pegusus with the same color hair as Dinky. Her cutie mark was 7 bubbles, and to top it all off... Her pupils pointed different directions.

"Mommy mommy! Look who I found!".

"Who did you find my little muffinhead?". She look where Dinky was pointing and gasped, great.

"Oh my Celestia! It's really you, the human. Has Dinky been bothering you sir?".

"Please, call me Lain miss?".

"Derpy, Derpy Hooves.". I started to mentally punch my brain, that's so offensive! Who in there right mind names their child Derpy!? It's ok just calm down Lain, your here for Twilight!

"Well miss Derpy, Dinky has been keeping me sane for a while.". She pulled Dinky behind her and gave me a cross look, I think it was. It was hard to tell.

"What do you mean by that?". Uh oh!

"Miss Hooves, I sorry for the misunderstanding, it's just a figure of speech for humans. I'm sorry if I scared you.". She instantly let Dinky go and smiled.

"Ok then! Wait... When did yoooouuu...?". She was pointing at my wings. I was about to answer when Dinky spoke up first.

"Mommy, Princess Celestia told Zecora to give Mister Lain a potion and when he drank it gave him wings!". Derpy reached into some saddle bag and pulled out a muffin and handed it over to me.

"Here, I think you might need this a lot more than me.". The look she gave me said "I'm not backing down, take the muffin.".

"Thank you miss Hooves, i hope we run into each other again sometime.".

"Me too, come on Dinky, let's go home and wake up miss sleepyhead.". Dinky then got a sly look on her face. As they left I saw Fluttershy run in. With her was Rainbow, a marshmallow colored unicorn with a fancy looking dark purple mane, a Earth pony with a blonde... Ponytail... On her mane and tail... She also had an orange coat, and finally another Earth pony with a super frizzled pink mane and tail and a pink coat. Rainbow was the first to find me.

"Lain! Where the buck is Twilight and spike?". She then gasped as she noticed my two new features.

"Wha... How... Where did those come from!?". You already know the story so I'm not gonna say it again.

"Wow... I don't know what to say.".

"How about you introduce me?". I motion towards her group, while we were talking they had sat down and watched us. The pink one had trouble sitting still. Rainbow takes my hand and pulls me over towards them.

"Lain this is Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie pie.". Pinkie is the first to speak up... Or make noises that is.

"OhMyCelestiaIHavn'tseenyouaroundandifIhavn'tseenyouthatmeansyoumustbenew!!!!!". I look at Rainbow for an explanation as I ate my muffin.

"Lain... Pinkie will be Pinkie, don't question it.". Applejack stood up and started to wildly shake my arm. Good thing I already finished

"Glad ta meet you Lain! I can't thank you enough for bringin Twi an Spike to the hospital!". I frowned at her, here come the distrust of new friend.

"You can thank me by punching me in the gut.". Rarity gave me a confused look.

"Why darling, why would we ever do that. You helped our friends.".

"No, I didn't help. I left them on then floor when they passed out trying to help me! I left them there all night while I was crying for myself at Fluttershys.". That ended the conversation quickly. I went back across the room and sat back down on the floor. After a long awkward silence and nurse came and told us that we could see Twilight and Spike. Here we go.

As we walk into the room the 5 ponies rush up to their fallen friends while I sat in the corner, or on the floor in the corner. While they are talking and laughing away I'm over here, a freak, an outcast for two worlds. Then I hear nothing... Complete silence. They've stopped talking to look at me, starring at me as if they're studying me. Finally Twilight speaks up.

"Lain, are you ok? How are the wings?".

"Honestly Twilight, I don't give a crap about them right now. What I'm worried about is you.". She smiled at this and started to laugh.

"Oh, don't worry about me, I just put a lot of effort into that painkiller spell. You were in a lot of pain last night.". Is that what that was? Again... I love magic, but this doesn't change anything.

"Twilight, Spike, first off I would like to say sorry. I left you when I should've helped you. You Two have done so much, and I just left you on the floor! I was stupid and shouldn't even be here!". She gave me a stern look, she got out of bed. She's limping over, here it comes.I close my eyes wait for the impact... But it never comes. Instead I feel the warm body of a alicorn against my chest. When I open my eyes... Twilight is hugging me... She's just hugging me. How can she hug me after what a did... How? I started to feel this worlds magic flowing through me, it's power is overwhelming. I can feel the pegusi magic, the earth magic, and the unicorn magic. It's all around me, I can feel it... It's just... Flowing...

"Twilight... I can feel it... This worlds magic.". When Twilight stopped the feeling stopped as well. It's so amazing. I then start to cry, she puts her hoof and wipes away the tears.

"Shhhh, it's ok, let's get home and regroup with our friends later Lain. Does that sound good?". I just nod. Applejack then speaks up.

"Ok ponies, let's let Twi and Lain talk.". They walk out of the room and we head for the library, and for now it's my home.

When it's time for bed I cooked eggs for us. Twilight and Spike seemed satisfied.

"Mmm, Lain these are delicious!".

"Oh it's nothing, it's the only thing I don't burn.". When we were about to head to bed Spike burped out a scroll. It didn't look pleasant but I don't think he minded. When I picked up the scroll, the address was Canterlot castle... And it was for me.

"Twi! I got a letter from The Princess!". I heard a thump and the scrambling of hooves before she galloped downstairs.

"Let me see let me see!". Wow she really did have close ties with Celestia. It's as if she was starving for a week, and this letter was a chicken leg. As I opened then letter my eyes went wide.

"HOW DID HE GET HERE!??!".

"Who?".

"You'll see Twilight! You'll see! For now, off to Canterlot!". I run out the door, I'm excited, bewildered, and super happy! I run towards town hall and stop as I realize something very important. Twilight was right behind me at the time, when I stopped she didn't look very happy.

"Some day I'm gonna break that running habit of yours.".

"Twilight, how do we get to Canterlot?".". She faceplamed... or facehoofed.

"There's teleportation, train, and chariot.". She looks very tired.

"Let's take the train, that way we can get some shut eye on the way there.". She yawned and started to wobble.

"(Yaaaaawwwwnnnn!) that's fine Lain, I'll pay for it let me go get my bits.". Hmmm? Bits? I guess that's the currency here? While she went back to the library I leaned up against the town-hall building, the benches are still for pony's. When Twilight returned she could barely stand up.

"Twi, would you like me to carry you?". She looked up and smiled at me. I prop her up on my shoulders piggyback style as she guess me to the train station. Lucky for us the last train was headed to Canterlot. As we go for tickets the salesman stops me as I buy tickets with my money, I had some in my pocket when I came here for some reason.

"Sorry sir but paper isn't worth anything". He shoves the money back at me. Twilight sees and runs over.

"It's ok sir he's with me.". He goes wide eyed, I guess seeing a princess at the train-station isn't common.

"P p princess, sorry but the human still has to pay.".

"Lain here use these.". She hands me... Solid gold coins.

"What! These are solid gold! Aren't you ponies worried about a gold bug!". They both look at me curiously, good thing I was doing history when I came here.

"Let's just go, I'll tell you when we get to Canterlot.". When we load onto the train we are the only ones on, good, I don't want to have ponies staring while I sleep. Surprisingly they have a section for bipedal creature but how do I sit with wings? Ok that's how, you just sit down, not the most comfy position but I'll manage.

"I'll stay awake for us Twi, you just rest your head.". As she closes her eyes she nuzzles up against my arm like ponies back home would or if it was your girlfriend. Shut it you nasty pervert. The rest of the ride is just a normal train ride, scratch the pony bag carriers. After a couple hours we finally arrived in the famous Canterlot. Last time I was here I didn't see much, I just got on the chariot and WHOOSH. I gotta say I has a pretty fair amount of nightlife for a for such a big city.

"Lead the way princess". I bowed and showed her out the train car. She blushed and I managed to chuckle. Haven't laughed in a while.

"Oh shush Lain, your my friend, I'm not royalty to my friends.".

"I know, would you like to give me a short tour on the way to the castle?". Her eyes lit up like a light bulb.

"Oh yes! I can't wait to show you Doughnut Joes, Spike loved that place.". Wait!

"Is his first name joe?".

"No, it's almost like its all one word ya know.". YES! Saved from a dandelion sandwich! As we headed to the castle Twilight show me some of her favortie food joints and other things that were for ponies.

"Here we are. Canterlot castle! ".

"Wow it looks bigger on the inside.".

"Oh shut up.". Two guards were at the giant entrance. Twilight had the door opened for her and she went inside. I tried to go after her but the wings and spears of the guards stopped me in my tracks.

"You are not authorized to go in step aside.".

"Hey! Let me in, I have very important business with Celestia!". They didn't back down, they just stood there like the guards at England would. Right when I was about to get angry a certain peaceful voice rung throughout the air.

"Guards, let my friend inside, I have many things to talk to him about.". As yes there she is! The two guards didn't look to happy to let me in. Suckas

"So how are the wings Lain? Have you learned how to use them?".

"No... I haven't even learned how to move them yet.". It was true sadly, even though I feel the muscle, the bones, and the magic supplying my flight, I can't even move them.

"Oh, I'm sure you'll learn very quickly. Any ways follow me, he's right this way.".

As we said our goodbyes to the Princesses I couldn't help but notice Something different about Lain. He wasn't acting like the Lain I first met, he was more fun and out going, he was more... Happy. As we made our way to the train station I noticed Lain and Nolan whispering to each other. I pay no attention until I notice they started to look back at me. This continued until we reached the train station. I paid the ticket master and we set off. Nolan was very interesting, his ideas of magic was like something Trixe would do. I saw something in him I hadn't seen in Lain. The two were sitting across from me in the bipedal section. It was awkward for a while until surprisingly, Lain broke the ice.

"Hey Nolan, ya know which song this reminds me of?".

"Which one Lain?". Right then the magic of Equestria started to gather around. The music started to play and the results were inevitable.

On the road again!

SSSCCCCRRREEEECCCCHHHH!!!!!! the train came to a sudden stop and we both fell to the floor. I scrambled up to my legs and helped Lain get to his feet. He then scratched the back of his had awkwardly as we started at each other.

"Let's never speak of this again.". Gladly, oh I'm soooo embarrassed. I turn and head out of the train towards home. I look behind me to see Nolan asleep in Lain's arms. It's almost about time for everypony to start waking up, I can hear the yawning and moaning of everypony as well.
