Pinkie Pie was bored.
Very, very bored.
Moaning, she trotted to the kitchen to find something to eat.
"Good morning, Gummy." She mumbled. The blank-faced alligator latched on to her tail with his toothless gums as she walked by. "Looks like you're having a good one, anyways."
She opened the fridge, pulling out a jug of chocolate milk. Suddenly, something colorful outside her window caught her eye.
"Huh?"
As she ran towards the disturbance, her eyes widened. "Oh my gosh! It's a super-duper rainbowy floaty thing! I WANT IT!" The window flew open and the mare's hooves grabbed the string.
"It's so pretty! I'm going to show all of my friends!"
"Hey everypony! Look at my awesomely coloriffic ballon!" She called out. Ponies began to gather round in awe, ooohs and ahhhs resounding through the town square. Pinkie looked around for some of her other friends, and spotted Rainbow Dash snoozing on a cloud. A big smile erupted on her face.
"HEY RAINBOW DASH! COME LOOK AT MY BALLOON! IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR MANE! ISN'T THAT JUST THE MOST COINCIDEEDLY THING EVER?!"
"Wha-?" Rainbow, still groggy, looked up to see Pinkie Pie staring straight at her.
"Aaaah!"
"Hi Dashie!"
"Oh. Hey Pinks..."
"Did I wake you up too soon?"
"No, no... I was just resting my wings..." Rainbow yawned. "What's up?"
"I just found the most spectacular balloon! Wanna see?" Pinkie held up the balloon for her friend.
"Yeah, yeah... that's cool..."
"Okie dokie lokie!"
"One question, Pinkie..."
"Yeah?"
"How did you get up here?"
"Simple, silly! I used my wings!"
"Wings? Since when did you have wings?"
"I have no idea!" Pinkie chuckled. Rainbow rubbed her eyes, jaw dropped.
"TWILIIIIGHT! OPEN THE DOOOOR!" Pinkie yelled.
"Pinkie! I thought I told you to stop yelling at pony's doors!" Twilight scolded as she threw open the door.
"Oops! Sorry."
"Now. What was it you wan-" The alicorn paused and rubbed her eyes. Was she dreaming, or did Pinkie just grow a horn...?
"What's wrong, silly filly?"
Twilight gasped when she noticed the wings.
"Pinkie! Where did you get wings and a horn?!"
"Like I told Rainbow Dash! No clue! But check out the superiffic balloon!" Pinkie just chuckled, oblivious to what had just happened.
"Twilight? Everything ok- bwaaah!" Spike stopped in his tracks.
"You too? Wow! What a coinkidink!" Pinkie grinned.
"Get in here. Now." Twilight grabbed Pinkie by the hoof and dragged her in. Pinkie, being who she was, just giggled as she was dropped down the stairs to the dank basement. Twilight ran to get her equipment.
"What's with the machines, Twily?"
"I need to do some tests."
"Why?"
"Because you just turned into an ALICORN!" Twilight yelled, exasperated. Pinkie frantically reached for her new horn and wings.
"Oh my gosh! THIS IS TOTALLY AMAZING! WE'RE LIKE TWINS! I HAVE TO GO TELL FLUTTERSHY!" Pinkie bolted out of the door in an instant, grabbing her balloon and leaving Spike dizzy in her wake.
"Pinkie! I wasn't even done yet!"
"FLUTTERSHY! GUESS WHAT?!?!"
A small scream came from inside the cottage. Angel bounced to the door to find Pinkie holding a colorful balloon and- wings and a horn? Angel didn't remember those. He ran to get Fluttershy.
"Oh... hello, Pin- woah!"
"What is wrong with people today?" Pinkie shrugged. "I just randomly grew some extra appendages, so what? Ooooh! I almost forgot! Guess what?!"
Fluttershy just stared.
"I'm an alicorn now!"
"Yes... I see..."
"Isn't this amazing? Now we can be flying buddies!" Pinkie exclaimed.
Fluttershy, at a loss for words, just fell to the floor. Pinkie giggled. "Fluttershy, you're such a trickster!" A few mice and Harry the Bear came to the pegasus' aid as Pinkie rambled on.
"Well, have a party-riffic day, 'Shy! I'm off to see Rarity!"
The door shut behind her.
"What just happened?" Fluttershy mumbled.
