Dark Mist has slowly been going insane. Ever since that day he can't help but relive that nightmare every time he closes his eyes. It has been a month since that day. No pony knows that he was part of that family and he wants to keep it that way. His father was always so calm and bright about everything but since that day Dark has seen his true colors. It was when his mother entered his 'office' in the basement. She quickly ran back up the stairs only for his father to be blocking the exit. There was hollering and he went down stairs to see what was going on. He say his father slap his mother back down the stairs. unable to process what was going on he went to the door to see what was going to happen. That's when his father picked up a meat clever and started chopping off his mothers arms and legs. All he could do is listen to her scream. When he was done Dark ran up the stairs onto the second floor and told his younger brothers to hide under the bed. He went into the closet and they waited. His father came up the stairs and walked to their room. It took him awhile but he found his brothers and instantly they screamed. That was probably the worst sound he heard as his father slowly hacked them to pieces. blood was pooling where there bodies where. Through the crack in the door he could see it all. He was breathing heavily. His father turned to him and they stared at each other. Dark saw the murderous intent in his eyes and he knew his father could see him. But his father never went to go kill him he just turned and left. His father left the house and was never going to come back.
Hours later Dark mist decided to leave the closet he was hiding in. He saw the blood the mutilated bodies of his brothers. He mind had so many questions but one was speaking the loudest of them all 'Why didn't he kill me?' he wondered down into the basement carefully stepping around what was once his mother. and there he saw a paper with writing. It was his fathers writing he picked up the paper and read it.
Dear Dark Mist,
If your reading this then well I killed our family. I wanted you to live because I saw myself in you. I saw my insanity within your mind. So I made this note for you to understand that I leave it up to you. You can live my life of killing but that also means your life will not be safe. I used our basement for killing because it was the most secure. Know you can choose to leave and kill all you want or leave and not kill. And son if we are to meet again than I hope it is in the case of killing but that may not be the case. so with that said and done I must leave you my son.
After that he left and entered a local town called Ponyville. He has been struggling with what to do since he arrived. That is until a certain pony decided it was a good idea to talk to him about her knowing he was apart of that family.
