At her first princess summit, Twilight Sparkle literally bumps into Royal Guard Lieutenant Flash Sentry. After meeting his human counterpart and then returning to Equestria, Twilight starts to develop some feelings for the royal guard.

As weeks pass, Twilight stresses about falling in love with Flash since her brother Shining Armor is prince of the Crystal Empire, and therefore Flash's boss. Unfortunately, her foalhood friend Comet Tail has also developed feelings for Equestria's newest princess, but when he finds out Twilight is in love with another stallion, he won't take no for an answer.

Princess Cadance, Twilight's foalhood foalsitter and sister-in-law, understands that Twilight and Flash have hidden feelings for one another, and after her day with Twilight (and Discord), Comet Tail boards a train to the Crystal Empire and plays a trick on Shining Armor, raising suspicions from Flash.

Which stallion will Twilight choose, and is Comet Tail really who he says he is?
