Chapter 20: [RAINBOW FACTORY] Part 6

Isaac watched in awe for mere seconds as the form that was Carver came up to him and properly punched Isaac in the arm with a fierce scowl.

"Isaac, wake the fuck up, man!" Carver shouted.

Isaac shook his head and stared back at the soldier in front of him.

"Carver!? How the Hell are you-"

"RRRRAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!"

Isaac and Carver looked back at Altmare in time to watch as he threw up a massive spiral of energy around his form, soaring into the air as he screamed at the two.

"YOU DARE ABUSE THE MARKER'S GIFT IN ORDER TO FIGHT THIS WAY!? HAVE YE NO SHAME, UNHOLY ONE!?" The Pony shouted at the two, pointing a hoof accusingly at you know who by now.

Isaac looked back to Carver, who now had a Rocket Launcher attachment to his Carbine.

"Seriuosly, am I the only one lost here!?" Isaac shouted.

"Trust me, I'm just as lost as you. One second, I'm with Dylan and Damara, holding them as we watched some kind of beach, then I'm thrown here with my armor and rifle, see you getting assaulted by some kind of bat-shit insane Marker worshiper, and then somehow, Ellie tells me that you need me to fight with you. Figures that you need me to help deal with your weird as shit problems. In all honesty, though, it's probably one of our better days." Carver added with a smirk as he loaded his signature Bullpup Rifle.

Isaac couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the sentiment before raising his Plasma Cutter at the Unitologist Pony.

"Yeah. We've seen worse."

"AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!" The Earth Pony screamed with rage.

The room burst into flares as Isaac and Carver rolled away from each other in time to watch a mechanical pump sprout from the ceiling and crash into their previous spot.

Isaac rolled up from the tumble and watched as Carver took off in the opposite direction. Then, Isaac's RIG flashed up with Carver's face in the Comms screen.

"I'll take this guy from the right! You focus on hitting those controls! We've gotta gut this damn place outta the sky, and him with it!"

With that final statement, Carver raised his Rifle and fired a rocket at the Pony in the Double-Helix spiral of energy. Surprisingly, though, it managed to break into the nearly solid field of light and caused Altmare to scream in pain once more.

"NO!" Altmare screamed as he summoned runes above the two Humans. "I WILL NOT BE SHOW UP BY AN UNHOLY SPAWN, AND HIS ILLUSION OF AN ASSAILANT!!!"

Altmare raised a hoof to the ceiling and brought it down fast. As he did this, the runes above them trembled with power before exploding into columns of red lightning, shattering walkways and hitting the receiver below.

"[WARNING, RECEIVER CRITICAL]" A metallic voice called out over the cracking of power in the massive room.

Isaac ran along the side of the room as Carver continued to fire at the Earth Pony, occasionally hitting Altmare behind the shield of red light.

"THAT DOES IT!" Altmare roared.

The stallion then raised a hoof to Carver, before a massive rune shot out from the ground, shooting the metal floor up at unnatural angles, which pierced through Carver's form in several locations, causing the soldier to scream in pain before dropping his rifle. Altmare floated over towards Carver's immobile form and began to twist the piercing metal inside the already dead man's chest. As he continued to do this, he failed to realize how much of his own protective aura began to fade away. Isaac saw the shape around the Earth Pony slowly evaporate, and raised his Plasma Cutter. The three beams hovered over the center of Altmare's back before Isaac pulled the trigger, sending an acid-coated bolt of super-heated plasma straight into the fur and flesh of the Pony.

"AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!" Altmare screamed in pain.

After his scream, Altmare relinquished his hold in Carver and the metallic torture of which he held him. Before Isaac could take another shot, however, the Earth Pony raised a deep-crimson Marker shape around himself, slowly healing the now sizzling hole in his form. Carver landed on the floor of the chamber, his wounds instantaneously healing as he picked up his Bullpup Rifle.

"Isaac!" Carver shouted. "Get over to the control panels! Turn this place off!"

"What about this guy!?" Isaac shouted back.

"He can't hold out for long! Just go! I've got this!"

Just as Carver finished his statement, Altmare shot back out from the light of the Double-Helix, and glared deeply at both Humans.

"I... Have had... ENOUGH!!!" He shouted, shooting his upper hooves out towards each of them.

Red bolts of energy shot out at Isaac and Carver at alarming speeds. Isaac was quick on the draw, however, and managed to roll out of the way of the attack. As it impacted the wall behind him, however, Isaac was sent flying out directly onto the center platform. Unfortunately for Carver, however, the beam struck him square in the gut as he was sent through the walls of the room in a fiery blast. Altmare took this opportunity to eliminate the false Human, and flew towards the gaping hole in the wall to finish the job.

Before he could enter the hole, however, a flash of light green came from the other side of the flames as multiple orbs wrung around Altmare and exploded across his form, sending him to the ground in a blast of light, pain, and two different electrical flashes colliding. The red aura around the Earth Pony seemed to falter massively for a few seconds before he was in the air yet again. He looked through the hole before seeing that Carver was now holding a Bullpup Rifle with a Bolas under-attachment.

Just as Altmare was about to attack yet again, a revving sound came from behind him. Altmare then turned around in time to see a familiar figure from before attack him with what looked to be a Plasma Saw. As the instrument swung down towards him, Altmare threw up a sharp point of the Double-Helix to block the attack, but was caught in the back by Carver, causing him to once again get throw to the ground.

Nicole stood there above the Earth Pony and brought down the Plasma Saw towards him, but found it caught yet again in a Marker-shaped aura. She looked over to see Carver readying his weapon yet again and pointed it at Altmare. She then looked over to see Isaac, sprawled out on the floor by the main controls.

"Isaac!" She called out to him. "Pull the lever, now! Shut this place down!"

"N-NO!" Altmare shouted before being shot by Carver, causing the red field to falter even more.

Isaac painfully pushed his weight upwards on his arms and leaned against the circuitry before him for support. With another pull of nothing more than willpower, Isaac managed to finally gaze upon the control panel, and most importantly, the override.

"IF YOU PULL THAT, YOU'LL KILL US ALL!" Altmare shouted before pushing back against Nicole's Saw.

Isaac reached out and grabbed the lever. He began to pull with all of his might before standing up fully, trying to budge the immobile switch. Just as he was about to break from it, Isaac heard clanging on the board and looked to see what made the noise. He gasped at the sight before him before the filly went to the other side of the switch.

"Isaac," Scootaloo managed as she crawled towards the switch, "I'll push while you pull."

Scootaloo then stood on her hind legs and braced herself along a small railing before leaning into the switch.

"Ready?" She asked.

Isaac nodded.

Both of the survivors were giving all of their effort into moving the switch in the slightest, before they heard a creaking sound from the panel. Slowly but surely, the switch began to move towards the off setting. They continued to put all of their might into the simple machine before finally snapping it all the way. Just when the switch hit the other side of its path, the entire factory began to violently shake as runes and supports began to either turn off or explode from over-exertion.

"NOOOO!!!" Altmare shouted as Nicole and Carver began to vanish from sight.

The Earth Pony sent one last sweep of energy into the duo before they completely faded from existence, and then turned his attention to Isaac and Scootaloo.

"WHAT. HAVE. YOU. DONE!?!?!?!?" Altmare yelled.

Once again, he raised into the air with a small amount of his aura left, but was caught off-guard by a falling piece of the ceiling, which then cut into his skull. With the momentum from the debris, Altmare fell limply onto the metal floor before the entire plate fell through a white, puffy substance.

Isaac looked all around him and watched as the massive machinery began to fall and give way to more of the fluffy particles. Just as he was about to pick up Scootaloo, however, a plate of metal with wiring came down onto the main panel and clipped the filly on one of her wings, sending out red sparks of miniature lightning as it became an extension to the already exploding board of circuits.

"Scootaloo!" Isaac proclaimed before trying to reach for her.

As he was about to grab her, the plating beneath him tipped over a bit, then a lot, until the massive receiver's collective parts, rotating and all, fell through the same white floor underneath. Scootaloo looked as though she were about to jump towards Isaac before the panel fell out form underneath her, taking the Pegasus down through the layer of white.

"ISAAC!" She shrieked in panic.

"HANG ON!" He called before leaping through the soft white substance.

Isaac wiped his eyes with a free hand and placed the Plasma Cutter on his side before looking to see what the two were now doing: falling. And as they fell, Isaac gazed at the source of the Rainbow Factory's power, and why they needed such a massive receiver.

"ISAAC!"

Isaac tore his attention away from his shock and focused on Scootaloo, as they both plummeted straight into a massive volcano.
