Sorrow of the Moon

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Silver, a young zebracorn, sat in the corner with her knees hugged against her chest, tears streaming down her cheeks as the memories of what Moon had done to her flooded her mind. The mare had woken not long after Platinum Heart, her older sister, had been tossed into the cell that was oddly filled with luxuries, obviously intended for the three sisters.

‘I don’t know who I am anymore… What has Nightmare done to me? What did she do to me to make me want and enjoy the things she did? She took my virginity… Forced me to suck her off…’ Silver’s thoughts ran through her mind like a jumbled freight yard during rush hour. ‘But… I… I enjoyed it… What is wrong with me!?’ She looked from under her hands at her unconscious sisters, both defiled as much, if not worse, than she had been. She hugged her knees closer to her body and cried softly. “I want to go home…”

Gold woke to the sound of Silver’s weak, pleading voice. The mare’s whimpers sounded unbearably painful in the ears of the pegasus, making her sympathetic nature kick in. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up from the soft futon she had been lied across to the crying zebra. Her eyes widened. “S-Silver…” Gold said as she got up off the bed and walked over to where her sister sat, sitting down in front of Silver and pulling her into a hug.

“Gold?” Silver whimpered softly as she wrapped her arms around her sister. “I-I’m losing my *hick* mind! I want to go home! I want to forget this ever happened!”

“I know Silver, I know. We’ll be going home soon, and when we get there, we can forget all about this.” Gold said in a hushed tone as she held her sister close.

Silver squeezed Gold tighter. “H-how can you be so sure? You’re always so optimistic. Mother! What hell have you put us through!?” She wailed as more tears spilled out of her eyes, this time soaking into Gold’s fur.

“I know you may not have thought me to be the type of pony to say this, Silver, but for once, I wish we had just gone back to bed.” Gold stated as she comforted her sister. She pulled back to gaze into her little sister’s eyes.

“But… Mother forced us… This is all her fault! I lost my virginity to Nightmare Moon because of her! We’re trapped here because of her! We’re all mares… Because… Of… Her!” Silver yelled, only to receive a hard backhand across the snout from Gold, snapping her head to her left. She blinked, wondering for a moment why she was looking at the wall, until her jaw began to ache, telling her exactly that Golden had struck her.

“Snap the fuck out of it, Silver!” Gold reprimanded. “I know that we had no choice but mother is not to blame for this, no pony is to blame for this except Nightmare Moon and I swear that we will make her pay for this.”

Silver took a moment to let her brain reboot, before looking back at Gold, tears still fresh in her eyes. “I’m sorry… I didn’t know what I was saying… And my… ahem… Aching crotch might have played a role in that too…”

“Let me tell you something that I know I promised myself I would never tell anypony…” Gold said as she began feeling tears welling up from the memory of how she lost her virginity as a young stallion. “I-I had it much worse when I lost my virginity… I was seventeen, younger than you are now. I was just coming home from visiting a friend and they just… They…” Gold couldn’t continue as she was so torn up from remembering that nothing more than sobs could be heard

Silver pushed herself up from her place in the corner and hugged her older sister. “They hurt you didn’t they?”

Gold could only nod before burying her face into Silver’s shoulder.

“How many were there?”

“T-two, t-there were two.” Gold choked out.

Silver nearly kicked herself over her next question. “Were they… Stallions?”

“O-one of them… was a m-mare.” Gold replied breaking back into tears.

“Oh Gold… Why didn’t you ever tell us? Mother would have put them to death for that… They raped a prince… A son of Celestia, no less.”

Meanwhile, somewhere in Ponyville, a certain pink mare was fuming after her pinkie sense told her that Golden Eye broke a promise.

Back in the cell, a random rock smacked Gold in the side of the head and rolled to a stop next to Silver, who looked down at it. The small stone read ‘PROMISE BREAKERS WILL PAY!’ in red letters. “That’s not going to end well…”

“I’m sorry Pinkie, but I couldn’t keep it hidden any longer.” Gold said to no pony in particular.

“For a pony without magic… She sure out does Heart when it comes to teleportation.”

“We’ll never know how she does it either.”

“Ten bits says she’ll teach her offspring how.” Silver said, attempting to lighten the mood.

“Don’t worry about the ten bits, I think she might teach her offspring how anyway.” Gold deadpanned.

“I’m guessing she’ll have to. After all, there’s the fact that her foal will grow up to be the new element of laughter.” Silver replied with a shrug, seeming to have gone back to her usual self.

“But, Silver…” Gold said, bringing the mentioned mare back to the subject at hand. “You are the first pony I have ever spoken to about me being raped and the reason I held it back for so long is because I was afraid.” She explained.

“You all saved my life… From my own action. There’s not much you can tell me that I’ll judge you for. My real mother didn’t love me, I tried to kill myself, I’m a frequent drinker, and my first time was as a mare. So long as you don’t freak out like I just did, you’ll be just fine.” Silver comforted her sister.

“The worst I ever did was avoid everypony afterward. I was like that for a year and a half.”

“That’s why you avoided me!? I thought you were like everypony else and shunned me for what I am, even though you said all those nice things to me when I was healing. By Mother, I’m so sorry! That’s the sole reason I was always so sour towards you! I’m so so so so sorry, Gold!” Silver cried and hugged Golden again.

“These memories are the reason why I have my own stash in my room and yes, Mother knows about it.” Gold said embracing her sister.

“You never told her who did it?”

“No, I was so afraid that they would do much worse if they had a chance when they found out.”

Silver narrowed her eyes. “Who were they, Gold?”

“I never heard their names but the stallion’s coat was a light blue with an ash grey mane and tail… that’s all I remember.”

The zebra’s eyes widened. “I know him… He’s… H-he’s a royal guard…”

“How can you be so sure?” Gold questioned.

“He’s… My personal guard…” Silver said in a quiet tone, only loud enough for Gold to hear.

“Y-your personal guard, but he’s…” Gold said.

“His name is Broadsword. Mother said he was the best guard of his rank to guard me while in Canterlot. I had no idea I was being constantly watched by a pedophile and rapist.” She replied with a violent shiver. “To think… He may have been checking me out the whole time…”

“I’m glad you didn’t go through the same thing I did when it happened.”

Silver shook her head in disgust. “Yet, I was in a situation where it could have. I’m actually suddenly relieved that Moon got my virginity first… at least she had the decency to turn me into a mare first and actually gave me enjoyment out of it.”

“These memories flashed through my mind when Moon first said that she wanted us, which is why I acted the way I did towards her before all of this.”

While the two sisters talked, neither of them noticed that Heart was awake, much less did they realize she had been awake almost the entire conversation. She was still lying on the floor, faced away from the others. She winced slightly as the injuries from Nightmare Moon's whip were still present. She hadn't known of Gold's secret, and hearing her confess made a few tears run down her face. A whimper broke past, even though she tried to hide her quiet crying.

Silver’s ear perked up. She slowly turned to look back at the middle sibling. “Heart?” She asked in a near whisper. “How much did you hear?”

Heart got up off the floor and turned to face her sisters, throwing her injuries into sharp focus, making both the other mares gasp. "Almost all of it. Gold..." Her face turned sorrowful and she trailed off.

“Say it, Heart, let it out.”

"H-How could you not tell us?" Heart's voice sounded betrayed, broken.

“Heart, don’t say anything you’ll regret… I’ve already gone there. Mother will not be pleased when my voice reaches her all hearing ears.” Silver spoke, attempting to defend her sister.

“I… I was just so afraid to say anything to anypony that I refused to speak about it... until now.” Tears again ran down Gold’s cheeks as she spoke. “Please… forgive me for not telling you sooner.”

Heart unclenched her fist and sighed. "I'm sorry, Gold... I know it must have been difficult for you to say this." She walked over to her sisters and sat down next to them.

“So yes, Heart… You literally are the one who keeps us all sane in the aftermath of our tragedies… and now we all get to share one of our own.” Silver said with a weak chuckle.

Heart laughed lightly, then twitched as pain flared from the injuries around her stomach. She brought a hand up and lightly touched it.

Silver winced at the several gashes across Heart’s body. “Don’t tell me you enjoyed that, did you Heart?”

"Well... not at first... But master had to teach me a lesson."

“Dear mother, what has she done to you, Heart? This is more than a lesson being taught and why the hell would you call her master!?” Gold said, nearly shouting, tears of frustration now falling past her cheeks.

Silver’s jaw dropped. “Well... it would seem that our dear sister has a new fetish.” She said, taking this surprisingly well. “She really broke you in like a new pair of horse shoes. Dammit, Moon. You done ruined my sister.”

“Damn you Moon… I’m gonna fucking kill her when this is over!” Gold shouted as she stood, turning to the wall to slam her fist into the stone, cracking it.

Silver stiffened. “Whoa! Nopony said anything about killing! Sure, the way she went about things was wrong, but before we go jumping to conclusions, we need to get to the bottom of what really caused her to do this.” Her voice was overlayed with sympathy that she didn’t even mean to have. It was just there, probably from the fact that she could relate to the alicorn. They were both freaks of nature after all.

“With what she did to our sister… she deserves nothing more than what she should have gotten a long time ago.”

“Listen to yourself! Did we not just go through an entire conversation about our flaws!? Moon told me herself that what she did so long ago was irrational! She’s lonely, because she’s treated like I used to be and only sought to bring eternal night because of how hurt Luna was when the ponies feared and disrespected her night!” Silver snapped, shocking both of the other mares. “Now unless you have a better idea of how to get out of this mess alive, I suggest you get your anger in check!”

Realizing that she had lost control of her anger, Gold tried to reign herself back in and calm herself down what little bit she could. “I’m sorry, I was just… so angry that I let it get the better of me.”

Silver turned back to Heart. “Now… Heart, you really enjoyed the painful things Moon did to you? What all did she do? Please not in detail. I’d like to keep what little I have on my stomach.”

"I- I didn't listen to her... And she punished me because of that." said Heart, her voice breaking slightly.

Silver slid off of the bed, stumbling slightly, her legs still weak from the rutting she had received, and sat down on her knees next to Heart. She wrapped her arms around the mare and hugged her. “Its OK… Least you didn’t have a virginity for her to take. But from how you had said ‘punished’ earlier made it sound like a good thing.”

Gold stood and walked away from her sisters, into the darkest corner she could find. She pushed her back against the wall and slid to the floor, saying nothing.

“I-It was a good thing. I-It made Nightmare Moon happy… and I’m glad that I made her happy.” said Heart, her voice quavering slightly.

“Did YOU enjoy it though? That’s all I’m asking, is if you found the way Moon treated you was pleasurable.”

“I l-liked it.”

“That’s a start. Maybe we could figure out how to persuade Moon to let us go… So far all we have that she really wants is our bodies, but I for one quite enjoy freedom. We’ll need to think this through very carefully. We’ll have to use our new bodies to our advantage.” Silver explained. She then turned to Gold. “Gold. We’re not going to be stuck here as slaves, no matter how much one of us may like it. But we’re going to need a plan of action, since I nor Heart have our magic. We’ll need your natural forwardness to get things started.”

“What good would my forwardness do besides get us tied further into the mess we are already in?” Gold huffed.

“We need to get her emotions to boil. You’re familiar with psychological warfare, right?” The zebra replied.

“Then why am I the complete emotional mess right now?”

“Your passive aggressive personality is perfect for this, plus Moon makes me shy, and Heart likes to be punished anyway. She wouldn’t be the one to talk back. I told you, ruffle her feathers a little. The real emotions will come from me.” Silver explained. “I want to make her regret what she did by not even laying a finger on her… Then bring her back up to respect us as equals.” Silver then shook her head violently. “Woah… Where the hell did that plan come from?”

“I need time to think this over.” Gold stated

At that moment, a knock sounded at the door of the cell and Nightmare Moon’s voice call from the other side. “Girls. You awake?”

Silver froze. “We might not have that kind of time.”

“Alright, I’ll do it, but don’t blame me if it fails.” Gold monotoned as she stood and joined her sisters.

“I wonder what mast-” Heart shook herself violently, trying to drop what Nightmare Moon embedded into her mind. “what Moon is going to do to us now…”

“Remember Gold, just play it cool until she says something about last night. Then let her have a piece of your mind. We’ll play it off and pull you away, before she gets pissed then when she’s about to strike you, I’ll come in.” Silver whispered.

“Girls?” Nightmare’s voice came again.

“Uhh… yeah, we were just waking up.” Gold called out.

Moon opened the door and walked inside with a wide smile on her face. She wore the same armor as before, but a different dress was attached to skimpy armor. “Oh excellent! So how are my sweet princesses?”

Silver blushed and looked away. “G-good… I guess…”

“Kinda freezing, but I’m okay.” Gold replied.

“I’m fine m-master.” said Heart, blushing like Silver.

The alicorn smiled at Heart. “You really do like calling me that, don’t you?”

Heart blushed more deeply but said nothing.

“Now,” Moon clapped her hands together. “How’s about I treat you three to a little something to eat?”

Silver mentally reeled in shock, not expecting the sudden kindness that utterly destroyed her plan. ‘Nononononono! That’s not right! She’s acting different!’

“It depends on what you’re offering, and if it’s just a lure to getting what you want.” Gold said as she looked from the corner of her eye at Silver with a look saying ‘I got this.’

Moon pouted. “What kind of heartless bitch do you think I am that I wouldn’t treat my three mares to a nice breakfast that, mind you, I cooked myself.”

“One that fucks three siblings without permission! We might have acted differently had you just asked nicely.” Gold retorted.

“You really don’t understand what was going through your own minds as soon as you laid your eyes on me, do you?” Nightmare shot back.

“I may not have known exactly what was going through my mind, but as far as I am concerned, neither do you.”

The alicorn narrowed her eyes. “Let me give you a little insight. Two thousand years is more than enough time to understand every dark corner of ones mind, where as it took me a mere few seconds to figure out exactly what it was you three wanted to do to me, even what you want to do to me now. Here I am, being my true, calm self and you insult me while I’m offering you a meal. I’m honestly hurt, Gold.”

Silver made a move to get up, but was stopped by Moon’s magic.

“No, Silver. I knew she was going to say this to me even if you hadn’t come up with your plan that might have worked if I couldn’t read emotions.”

“Now let me ask you this, Moon. Why, if you were so desperate, didn’t you just ask us nicely instead of taunting us and irritating the hell out of us when we showed up?”

“The same reasons as Discord would. I find teasing to be fun, though nopony seems to like it when I do. I saw you all doing just that to each other. Me, being socially deprived, thought you find it fun.” She replied with a sharp tone.

Gold curled her hand into a fist. “Now what the hell do you think when you hear that somepony such as myself was raped by a royal guard, and that same pony has been watching your youngest sibling, what if you had a younger brother or sister that was being followed by the same pony that raped you?”

That caught Moon off guard, literally making her look like Gold had slapped her. “You… Celestia’s royal… Silver… Oh, Gods…” Her eyes widened at what she realized she had done. In that very moment, she looked like Luna, her personality swapping almost as fast as Rainbow Dash can fly. She covered her mouth with her hands and slowly backed away. “I… I didn’t know… I didn’t…”

Silver was released from Moon’s magic, allowing her to stand. “You took my virginity as well. What if I had somepony I was saving it for? Do you pride yourself in stealing? Were you just so desperate that you stole all three of us and couldn’t even come to our mother to right your wrongs? If you did things the right way, this may have turned out a lot better than this. You degraded us and now you’re acting all nice like we’re all friends. You even broke Heart! You made her into your little bitch slave! What the fuck is wrong with you!?” She screamed. “You took our magic, innocence, pride, and most of all, all three of us! You just fucking took us like possessions!”

“I… I thought you all enjoyed it! You even begged for me to keep going!” Moon cried. Her lonesome emotions were boiling past her pride and seeping to the surface in the form of tears in her eyes. “And… I do know what its like to have a little sister… But I wasn’t the one raped… She was… I couldn’t get to her in time and when I did… The bastard had killed her… So I ripped him apart. I was never right since.”

Gold’s eyes widened, “I-I… I’m so sorry for your loss.”

Moon bared her fangs. “Don’t be. Just fucking leave. This is the last time I ever try to find somepony special.”

“No.” Gold replied “I won’t let you be left here like this.”

Silver had to shake all the confusion out of her head, before she could speak. “Y-yeah.”

“I won’t let you suffer from your past, if you come with us, we can help you come to terms with our mother and right your wrongs.” Gold said .

Moon’s sniffled. “Really?”

“Does it look like I’m lying?”

“I don’t know… What does the face of a liar look like?” She teased, making Silver chuckle.

“Does this tell you anything?” Gold asked as she pulled Moon close and planted a kiss on her lips.

The alicorn’s eyes widened at the random show of affection, wings stiffening in surprise. To say that she didn’t enjoy it would be like saying the sun is freezing. Her eyes slowly fluttered shut as she relaxed and delivered the kiss back.

Silver Soul strode around behind Moon and began massaging at her wings, making the black mare moan softly.

Heart paused for a second, before walking close to Nightmare, slowly removing the alicorn’s armor and only leaving her in her deep blue dress.

Gold broke the kiss to regain her breath. "Does any of this... tell you that I... was telling the… truth about helping you... come to better terms with... our mother and... righting your wrongs?" she said between deep breaths.

Tears spilled from Moon’s eyes and slid down her cheeks at those words. She tried to respond, but nothing came out of her mouth when she opened it to speak.

“That sounded like it was pretty easy for you to say, dear sister.” Silver giggled. “I think somepony needs to earn our affection… So… How’s about that breakfast?” She asked as she wrapped her arms around Nightmare from behind, nuzzling into her stiff wings.

“Sure… ahem… Y-yes, Its being kept warm in the dining hall.”

There was a clatter as Nightmare Moon's armor fell to the ground. "Lead the way." said Heart, winking at the alicorn.

“Ummm… I would if you girls would let go…” Moon said sheepishly.

Silver giggled and let go, followed by Gold. “Sorry.” The zebra apologized with a slight blush.

The alicorn just smiled, before walking out.

Gold turned to her youngest sister, "Hey, Silver, I don't know if you feel the same but I think I'm falling in love with her, what should I do? And if I do love her, how am I going to tell her?" she asked, a nervous look in her eyes.

It was Heart, not Silver, who answered Gold's question. "Let's see how this turns out before we do anything we might regret."

"I know it's just that... The way I acted when she told us to leave..." Gold said.

"We all felt sorry for her... You just... started it with her." said Heart, blushing slightly.

"It's not that..." Gold explained. "I felt something deeper... Like something inside me tells me that the way she has to contend with loneliness isn't something she should have to suffer, like she needs some pony to love her and I just feel... Well... Drawn to her somehow."

“You feel the same about her as you both did me that day.” Silver said as she looked out the open door, seeing Nightmare walking away.

"It’s not that… It’s… I can’t explain it. I… My feelings are at a turmoil and I can’t sort them out!”

“Look, Gold… No matter how you try to dress it up, you still know just as much as I do that all four of us, especially Moon, have similar faults.” Silver stated. “And knowing you… You won’t truly forgive yourself if you made somepony miserable and lonely.”

Moon poked her head back through the doorway and looked between the three mares. “Are you three coming?”

"Yes, Nightmare. We're coming." said Heart. When Moon had left she lowered her voice. "Look, we can figure all this out soon. Let's just get some food and get our thoughts straight."

“Yeah, I am a bit hungry so let’s just go eat and get our thoughts together.” Gold replied, concern for her feelings towards Moon still showing in her expression.

Heart noticed and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I understand what you are feeling, Gold." She pointed at her heart shaped cutie mark. "I should know."

“No… you don’t… Nopony understands what I am going through.” Gold protested “I love Moon, can’t you see? I just… don’t know how to tell her, besides how do I know if she’ll love me the same way?”

“You can’t just all out love her, Gold. There needs to be reasoning behind it, other than that she knows how we all feel.” Silver interjected.

“She doesn’t need to be alone for the rest of her life unloved.”

“But neither should that mean that we should be the ones to be with her. As I said, she needs to win my affection. If you’re ever going to listen to me, Gold, now may be the time to do it.” The young mare replied with a shake of her head.

“Do you want to know why I was so heartbroken over the mares that I was with before all of this?” Gold asked.

“I can’t say that I do.”

“I don’t think you want to listen to what I have to say, so why are we talking about this anymore?” Gold said as she fell to her knees.

"Moon did like that kiss you gave her." Heart pointed out.

“That doesn’t mean that she’ll love me the same way though.”

Heart gripped Gold's shoulder. "I can't tell you whether she loves you or not... But if you truly love her... You'll know when to say it. Now, let's not keep mast- I mean Nightmare, waiting."

“Just go on ahead of me, I have to think for a while.” Gold said to her sisters.

Heart and Silver walked out, leaving Gold alone in the cell.
