When news come across that Twilight Sparkle had fallen ill of a mysterious disease, Shining Armor decides to leave the Crystal Empire to visit her. Unfortunately for Shining Armor, Princess Cadance had to stay behind and govern the Crystal Empire alone in his absence.

However, along the horizon of the Crystal Empire, hidden through the Forgotten Forest, lay an old and unbeknownst enemy to the Crystal Empire; the Native ponies. Believing that Alicorns and the modernised ponies were evil, three different Native tribes form a coalition and construct a plan to rid Equestria of the 'tyrant' Alicorns and restore their lost land. As they slaughter any pony who dares stand between them and their goal, the Natives plan to kill Princess Cadance.

When the news reaches Canterlot, nearly everypony couldn't believe their ears. Furious and fueled by determination and his love for Cadance, Shining Armor sets out to rescue his wife from the clutches of the invaders. But how much of his will, mind and morality is Shining Armor willing to lose in order to save the love of his life? Can he do what is required of him as prince to protect his subjects from the Natives? Can he stop the feral Natives from destroying everything he has ever loved?
