“Isn’t this place great, DT?!” Silver Spoon gushed as she looked at the various artifacts in the room.
“Yeah, fantastic,” Diamond Tiara said, her voice dripping in sarcasm as she picked up a stuffed doll with a missing hoof. The two were in Ponyville’s local pawn shop, looking at various used items that nopony wanted. Well, nopony except Silver Spoon of course.
“Oh come on, what about this?” Silver Spoon asked as she showed off an old necklace covered in dirt. “Isn’t it fabulous?”
“...You have strange taste, Silver Spoon,” Diamond Tiara said as she walked away and looked at other junk. How Silver Spoon convinced her to come here she’ll never know. After a few seconds of finding absolutely nothing worthwhile, Diamond Tiara decided to walk up to the counter, glaring at the store owner.
“Hello, how may I help you?” the stallion asked with a smile. Diamond Tiara scoffed in annoyance, that smile looked so fake.
“Is this seriously all you have?!” Diamond Tiara complained, glaring at the various objects in the store. “You have to have something interesting! Like an ancient book I could use to bribe Princess Twilight, or even a fake spider to scare Sweetie Belle! Or maybe a magical amulet like the one that crazy magician had, anything!” Diamond Tiara demanded, slamming her hoof on the counter causing the stallion to cringe.
“Well, I might have something,” the store clerk said as he walked away from the counter and into another room. “Now where did I put it? Let’s see, nope, that’s an old shoe, old shoe, slipper, pin up poster of Rarity in a bikini-”
“Wait, what was that last one?” Silver Spoon asked as she rushed to the counter.
“Oh, this old thing? You can have it,” he said as he tossed the poster to a drooling Silver Spoon.
“See you later, Diamond!” Silver Spoon squee’d as she quickly rushed out the door, causing Diamond Tiara to gag.
She has really strange taste, Diamond Tiara thought as she looked back at the clerk, who was still rummaging through the closet. “Have you found anything yet?!”
“Found it!” the stallion shouted as he finally came out of the closet. He then hoofed over a strange amulet that looked strangely like a red eye, piercing through your soul.
“What the heck is this creepy thing?” Diamond Tiara asked as she poked the amulet.
“It’s just what you wanted, a magical amulet! This allows you to peer into anypony’s mind, effectively making you a mind reader!”
“A mind reader?” Diamond Tiara mumbled as she picked up the amulet, unsure if she should believe him. “Alright, I’ll bite, how much?”
“For you, only 500 bits!” the stallion said, his grin widening.
“Only 500, huh?” Diamond Tiara muttered. Despite the fact most adults in ponyville don’t even make that much in a week, Diamond Tiara had a very large allowance. She would still have some bits left over for a brand new videogame even. “Eh, guess I’ll take it,” Diamond Tiara said with a shrug as she hoofed over the bits and took the amulet.
“It was a pleasure doing business!” he said as he waved goodbye to a retreating Diamond. After she left he counted the bits in the bag, squeeing in excitement. He finally had enough bits to buy a dress from Rarity! The guys at the bar are going to be so jealous! he thought happily, images of stallions buying him a drink at the local gay bar.
It was going to be the best night ever.
“I wonder if this thing actually works?” Diamond Tiara asked as she walked to school the next day. After buying the amulet she immediately went to the game store and bought the new Metal Gear Stallion game, and completely forgot about the amulet. “Well, today’s a good day to test it, I guess,” she said with a shrug and put the amulet on.
“Hey, DT, what’s up?” Silver Spoon called out as she trotted next to Diamond Tiara, and looked at her amulet. “Whoa, nice necklace!”
“Oh, thanks! Got it at that lame pawn shop,” Diamond Tiara shrugged. Well, guess she’s my first test subject, Diamond Tiara thought as she looked at Silver Spoon and concentrated.
Oh, Rarity poster! I don’t care you’re slightly covered in dirt, I love yo- “Huh, DT, what are you looking at?” Silver Spoon asked, cut away from her day dreaming.
“Uh...nothing,” Diamond Tiara said as she picked up her pace, looking away from Silver Spoon in embarrassment. Well, I learned two things today. One: my friend is creepy, and two: the amulet works, she thought with a smirk. Who knows what I could find out with this thing?
“Alright, crusaders, ah think we should try sky diving cutie marks!” Apple Bloom shouted, earning glares from both Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.
“Great, the Cutie Mark Crybabies are at it again,” Silver Spoon grunted in annoyance.
“I just hope they don’t destroy the ice cream store again,” Diamond Tiara replied as she glared at the crusaders. “Those three are such a pain in the flank!” she muttered to herself. It was at that moment an idea popped into her head. Let’s see what those idiots are thinking, she smirked as she looked at Sweetie Belle and concentrated.
La la la la, la la la la, Elmo’s World, la la la la, la la la la, Elmo’s Wor-
“NO!” Diamond Tiara shouted as she quickly reared away from Sweetie Belle, gasping for breath.
“Whoa, you okay, Diamond?” Silver Spoon said as she patted her friend on the back, attempting to calm Diamond Tiara.
“Y-yeah...I’m fine,” Diamond Tiara muttered as she wiped away some sweat. Note to self: never read Sweetie Belle’s mind ever again. Deciding to ignore Sweetie, Diamond Tiara then looked at Apple Bloom and concentrated. Please, please dont’ let her be as dense as I think she is!
Bowling cutie mark? Nah, already tried that. Psychiatrist cutie mark? Nah, too much work. Ooh, maybe ah should try being a dressmaker like Rarity!
“HA! A dressmaker?! You have like zero fashion sense!” Diamond Tiara laughed as she passed by the crusaders.
“W-what?” Apple Bloom muttered, shaking as she looked at Diamond Tiara. “H-how did ya know ah was…”
“Oh, Apple Bloom,” Diamond Tiara said as she patted Apple Bloom’s head in a motherly fashion. “You’re so predictable, it’s almost like I can read your mind!” Diamond Tiara laughed, causing Apple Bloom to tremble in fear.
“A-ah’m not…” Apple Bloom muttered, looking away in embarrassment. Am ah predictable?
“Yes, yes you are,” Diamond Tiara whispered in her ear, causing Apple Bloom to jump up in surprise.
“Hey! You leave Apple Bloom alone!” Scootaloo yelled as she pushed Diamond away. “Just because Apple Bloom’s a little predictable doesn’t mean you have to pick on her!”
“...Thanks, Scoots,” Apple Bloom muttered as she glared at her friend.
“Oh, coming to save your friend?” Diamond Tiara laughed. Let’s see what’s on her mind, right now! Diamond Tiara smirked as she concentrated on Scootaloo.
Wow, that smirk is so hot right now.
“W-what?” Diamond Tiara stuttered, backing away from a glaring Scootaloo.
“I said, ‘leave Apple Bloom alone!’, or are your ears clogged?” What’s so great about Apple Bloom anyways?! You should be picking on me! The way you sound when you laugh at us, the way your eyes sparkle as you glare at us...I want that. LAUGH AT ME! SMIRK AT ME! OH, FOR THE SAKE OF CELESTIA, WHY WON’T YOU LOVE ME?!
“...Scootaloo….you have problems,” Diamond Tiara said as she slowly backed away from Scootaloo.
“Uh...what?” Scootaloo asked as she tilted her head in confusion. “What are you…”
“Let’s just say...you’re as predictable as Apple Bloom,” Diamond Tiara muttered, causing Scootaloo’s eyes to bulge in surprise, her face blushing red in realization.
“W-what?”
“Totally out of here,” Diamond Tiara said as she turned around, smacking Scootaloo with her tail as she walked towards the school house.
“D-Diamond Tiara, wait!” Scootaloo called out, her hooves frozen in place as she watched the mare of her dreams trotting away silently. “Why won’t you love me?!” she cried in despair, earning strange looks from the rest of her classmates. Sweetie Belle slowly walked up to her friend and began patting her back gently with a smile.
“...Elmo’s world,” Sweetie sang quietly to herself as she comforted a sobbing Scootaloo.
Leaving the sobbing Scootaloo behind, Diamond finally reached the school house and took the amulet off, glaring at the blasted thing.
“You are totally not worth the trouble,” she mumbled as she tossed it into the nearby trash can and walked inside.
“What trouble?” Silver Spoon muttered as she followed her friend, unsure of what happened just now. As the two friends walked away from the trash can, one pony silently looked through the trash, and smiled as she pulled the amulet out.
“I-I won’t lose you like this! This isn’t over, Diamond Tiara, I will win your love!” Scootaloo declared as she gazed at the amulet. She didn’t know what it was, but she had a feeling it had something to do with Diamond Tiara knowing what she and Apple Bloom were thinking. I will find the secrets of the amulet, and with it, your love.

Hmm, I see, Scootaloo thought, nodding her head as she continued listening in to Diamond Tiara’s thoughts. It didn’t take her long to figure out the amulet’s powers, all she had to do was put it on and concentrate on somepony. With how often Scootaloo found herself staring at Diamond Tiara that last part didn’t take too long, it was figuring out how to put on the amulet that gave her the most trouble.
Oh come on! Is class almost over with?!
Scootaloo sighed in agitation, she had yet to learn anything about Diamond Tiara other than her love for anime and her hatred for all things learning. Not a whole lot to go on when trying to win the heart of somepony.
Hmm, maybe I’ll toss some eraser bits into Apple Bloom’s mane? Heh, that’ll rile her up!
“Ugh, figures,” Scootaloo mumbled to herself as she glared at Apple Bloom. What’s so great about you anyways? Scootaloo thought as she picked up her pencil and briefly considered throwing it at Apple Bloom. Maybe Apple Bloom would get so angry she’d cause a scene? And then Miss Cheerilee would kick her out, leaving me as Diamond Tiara’s only bullying choice! Snickering quietly at her brilliant plan Scootaloo flung her pencil at Apple Bloom, causing her to look back.
“Hey! Watch it!” Apple Bloom yelled as she threw her pencil at Scootaloo, who quickly ducked under it.
“Miss Cheerilee, Apple Bloom’s throwing pencil’s at me!” Scootaloo complained, causing Cheerilee to glare at Apple Bloom.
“Apple Bloom! I will not tolerate you throwing things at other ponies!” Cheerilee yelled as she pointed at the door. “Principal’s office! Now!” Cheerilee yelled at the grumbling Apple Bloom.
“Fine,” Apple Bloom muttered as she left the classroom.
Ugh, great! Now who am I going to pick on!
How about me? Scootaloo thought with a smirk. Now that Apple Bloom’s gone, I’m the only one she’ll want to pick-
Maybe I’ll pick on Sweetie Belle?
... Scootaloo slowly turned towards her other friend, glaring at the back of her head. Nopony get’s in the way of my love, she thought darkly as she began plotting ways to get rid of Sweetie Belle.
“Truffle Shuffle, I will not tolerate bullying in my class, PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE NOW!” Cheerilee yelled at a sobbing Truffle Shuffle.
“B-but I didn’t do any-”
“Principal’s office, now!” Cheerilee repeated as she pointed at her door, glaring as Truffle Shuffle slowly trotted out of the room, sobbing quietly. “What is wrong with everypony today?” Cheerille asked herself as she looked at what was left of her class. Now there was only three students left: Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and Scootaloo. With a shrug Cheerilee turned back to her chalkboard and began the days lesson once again.
Great, now who am I going to pick on?
Please, for the love of Celestia, pick me! Scootaloo begged, licking her lips in anticipation for the sweet sounds of Diamond Tiara’s nagging and giggling. The mere thought of it made her wings stiff in anticipation.
Sorry, Silver Spoon, but I have no other choice.
“...OH COME ON!” Scootaloo shouted as she flipped her desk in anger, shocking the other three ponies. “What’s wrong with ME?! Am I not good enough for you?!” Scootaloo yelled as she went up and slammed her hooves on Diamond Tiara’s desk.
“Uh...Scootaloo, are you okay?” Cheerilee asked as she slowly walked up to her student.
“No, I’m not okay!” Scootaloo yelled as she turned towards Cheerilee. “Diamond Tiara refuses to bully me! How can I be okay after that?!” Scootaloo asked as she glared at her teacher.
...Well, I never pegged Scootaloo as a masochist.
“I’m not a masochist!” Scootaloo defended herself. “I-I just…”
“Hmm, guess I should have disposed of that amulet better,” Diamond Tiara muttered as she glanced at the amulet around Scootaloo’s neck. “Miss Cheerilee, I’ll take care of this, you and Silver Spoon leave,” Diamond Tiara said as she pointed at the door, earning a glare from Cheerilee.
“Diamond Tiara, you do not boss your teacher arou-”
“GO TO THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE, NOW!” Diamond Tiara yelled as she jumped from her seat, causing Cheerilee to flinch.
“Y-yes, Diamond Tiara,” Cheerilee stuttered as she ushered for the confused Silver Spoon to follow her out of the room, leaving Diamond Tiara alone with Scootaloo.
The two sat in silence for awhile, Scootaloo gazing at Diamond Tiara in adoration, while Diamond Tiara just looked at her as if she was an idiot.
I wonder what Diamond Tiara’s thinking about? Scootaloo asked herself as she concentrated on reading Diamond Tiara’s mind.
“Oh no you don’t!” Diamond Tiara yelled as she quickly snagged the amulet off of Scootaloo’s neck and quickly tossed it out the window.
“Owch, Trixie’s great and powerful head!” Diamond Tiara heard somepony whined, but decided to ignore it, she had more important things to worry about right now.
“Aw, I needed that to win your heart!” Scootaloo whined as she sat up and looked at the direction the amulet was thrown.
“Scootaloo, how is reading my mind going to make me fall in love with you?” Diamond Tiara asked as she glared at Scootaloo, who simply shrugged at the question as she sat back down.
“I figured I could find out what you liked, disliked, and I would just...go on from there?”
“...” Diamond Tiara continued to glare at Scootaloo, and slapped herself on the forehead. I can’t believe I’m thinking this, but that’s actually pretty smart, Diamond Tiara shook her head in disbelief.
“I-uh, also wanted to see if you’d like to bully me a bit,” Scootaloo chuckled as she rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment, causing Diamond Tiara to groan.
Cheerilee’s right, she is a masochist, Diamond Tiara thought in disgust. “Listen, Scootaloo, and listen well. I do not want to be with you! Just give up on me!”
“But why?!” Scootaloo asked, tears welling up in her eyes as she stared at Diamond Tiara. “Is the idea of being with me really so horrid?!” Scootaloo asked, sniffling as Diamond Tiara continued to glare at her, and it wasn’t the sexy glare, it was the...okay, it was still sexy, but it wasn’t doing much for her at this moment.
“Scootaloo, give me one good reason why I should date you,” Diamond Tiara said, a smile creeping up her face. “Let me guess, you can’t come up with a reason, can you?”
“I love it when you make fun of me! Isn’t that a good reason?” Scootaloo asked, causing Diamond Tiara to raise her eyebrow in confusion.
“How...how is that a good reason?!” Diamond Tiara yelled as she slammed her hooves against the desk in agitation.
“Well...it’s just…” Scootaloo sighed as she looked down in embarrassment. After a few seconds of contemplation, she looked Diamond Tiara in the eye with a smile. “You think I’m a masochist, okay, maybe I am. But we all know you’re a sadist!” she shouted as she pointed at Diamond Tiara in triumph.
Diamond Tiara simply stared at Scootaloo, still unsure of where she was going with this. She stayed silent though, allowing Scootaloo to continue with what she was saying.
“Think about it, I’m a masochist, you’re a sadist! I get off on you making fun of me, and you get off on making fun of me! We’re perfect for each other!” Scootaloo said as she moved her chair so she was sitting next to Diamond Tiara, wrapping her hoof around her shoulder. “So what do you say? Will you give this crazy, frustrated mare a chance at the most beautiful, unapologetic pony in all of Equestria?” Scootaloo asked, smiling at Diamond Tiara who was scratching her chin in thought.
“Meh, whatever,” Diamond Tiara said with a shrug and turned towards Scootaloo.
“Yes! Thank you!” Scootaloo said as she hugged Diamond Tiara tightly, nuzzling her cheek affectionately. “I promise I’ll be the best marefriend ever!” Scootaloo whispered in Diamond Tiara’s ear.
I really hope I don’t regret this decision, Diamond Tiara worried, allowing Scootaloo to continue glomping her, the feeling of Scootaloo’s taught muscles rubbing against her skin, the smell of Scootaloo’s sweat forcing itself into Diamond Tiara’s nostrils, her heart began to speed up, causing her to pant uncontrollably. I-I guess this isn’t too bad, Diamond Tiara thought to herself as she continued to take in Scootaloo’s scent.
Maybe, just maybe this relationship could work out after all?
