It was a bright, snowy day out, and Twilight and Flash were sitting in front of the fireplace reading.
After two years of dating, their relationship had settled into a sort of comfort that only comes with truly knowing somepony. The quiet between them felt right rather than strained, and they were both in a pretty good mood, he cause of which was hidden away at the top of the stairs, where Twilight's rumpled blankets and some books shoved off the bed told a much different story. A soup was bubbling on the stove, and the fireplace was blazing. Spike was gone to visit his dragon cousins for the week now that he was getting older. They had had the house all to themselves for a few days, and the freedom of loud sex was luxurious.
Twilight smiled suddenly, and nuzzled into Flash's orange shoulder. He kissed the top of her head and continued reading. "I love you, Twi."
"I love you too." Twilight said, and lifted her face for a kiss. They went back to reading.
"So, how was it?" Flash asked.
"How was what?" Twilight asked blankly, her eyes following the trails of text in her book.
"You know, the sex." Flash said awkwardly. It was one of Flash's habits to ask how the sex was nearly every time. At first Twilight had thought that maybe he just had low self esteem, but it had become evident to her a while ago that he just liked hearing how much he pleased her.
And he did, truly. Well, maybe she hadn't come today, but it had been that slow, sleepy type of sex that comes right in the morning. It was a perfect wake-up.
"It was nice." Twilight said, putting her book down to lean further into him. Mhmmm. It had been nice.
"Just nice?" Flash said, straightening up. Okay, maybe he did have some self-esteem issues.
"No, Flash, it was great. It's okay I didn't come. Promise, it was great." Her hoof slid across his back to stroke the back of his neck, and she felt him relax a little.
"Sorry babe, I'm just high-strung." Flash, his book long put down, leaned back and looked at the ceiling.
"Mhhmm-hmm." Twilight had picked her book back up. This was a good part.
"I'm just not sure if you have as good a time as I do sometimes."
"Yeah."
"I mean, when you come I know, but you haven't been coming as much lately."
"Oh."
"And I was just wondering, don't you ever want to spice things up?" Flash asked. Twilight's eyes froze on the page and she put the book slowly down.
"Flash, we've talked about this." She said, "I mean, I know you don't feel as if you'd be comfortable if another stallion were to join us."
"I meant, is there anything else you like?" Flash asked. His voice was a little high-pitched and funny.
Twilight thought for a moment, but she knew there was no use in trying to conjure up kinks that weren't there. "Sorry love. Not really. Besides you, I mean."
"Ah, okay." Flash sighed. He waited for her to pick her book back up, but she didn't. He felt guilty for some reason. It was because he had broken the calm and peace they'd been feeling with his dumb insecurity and narcissism. He watched Twilight, the soft rising and falling of her belly. His hoof reached forward, caressing the soft curve of her thighs. She was a beautiful mare, god.
Twilight smiled and pushed back on him eagerly, urging him to go on. He knew she must be antsy after he had spent so long fucking her only to come and leave her unsatisfied. His hoof skimmed over her soft fur, stopping just short of her still-wet slit. She moaned softly and rocked her hips forward, begging. He didn't oblige just yet.
And, he had no idea why he was uncomfortable at the though of another stallion. He wasn't homophobic, by any means. It didn't disgust him, it just felt wrong. What was that feeling?
Aah. Jealousy.
His mouth quirked as he inched around her, feeling the heat even from a few inches away. She was damp, some of the slickness had soaked into her fur. He felt a little angry, suddenly. He wanted her all to himself. Why did she want another stallion?
"It's not that you're not enough," Twilight said, as if she had read his mind. "It's just, augh-" she stopped as he used his other hoof to massage her neck, making her relax. Totally in his power.
"Maybe it's not that I'm scared I'm not enough," he murmured, and leaned down to look her straight in the eyes. Her poor, sweet little face. He could tell her cheeks were flushed. She was crazy for his touch.
"Maybe I just want you all for myself." his hoof pushed into her and he silenced her gasp with a deep kiss. . . just as a loud, obnoxious knock sounded from the door only a few metres away.
"Goddamnit." Flash mumbled, glaring at the door. Who could possibly be interrupting them? It was almost dinnertime. He cast one long, hungry look at Twi- her heaving chest and her hoofs fussing as she tried to fix her hair. "Sorry, love, I'll be a second."
As he passed the window, he noticed that it was snowing. Quite a lot, actually, he couldn't even see the neighbors fence. Maybe it was someone coming to warn them to stay inside. He hurried to the door, and pulled it open.
A snow-covered Big Mac stood on their small welcome mat. Fluffy clumps of snowflakes rested on his nose and every exposed part of his body.
"Big Mac?" Flash said. Nonononononononono.
"Heya Flash."
"I'm sorry, hi." Flash said, "It's sure snowing a lot out here. Is that your cart?" Pleasepleaseplease just tell us to stay in and leave.
"Eeyup." Big Mac shuffled awkwardly.
"I guess you can't get back to the farm until the snow lightens up, huh?"
"Eeyup." Big Mac looked down. Flash could tell he hated asking for favors. Goddamnit.
"Why don't you come in, then?" Flash heard himself asking, "It wouldn't be any bother to us, we were just going to have dinner and I made too much food, as I usually do." Sorry Twi, you're gonna have to wait for that orgasm.
"Thank ya so much." Big Mac said, still looking at the ground. Flash moved aside and motioned for Big Mac to come in.
"Hey Big Mac!" Twilight said. Flash could smell those fine, light notes of her arousal in the air and cursed himself for his bad timing. It wasn't anything anypony but him should notice, but it still gave him that awful feeling again to think that Big Mac might be able to smell that one intimate scent that was supposed to be just for Flash.
