Harmonic Meteor the Pegasus Programmer
Rainbow Infauation and Suspicious Emails
Load Full Story"T-turn your textbooks to p-page t-thirty-seven," Mrs. Smith said. I sighed, but did as I was told. Page thirty-seven was about how to turn an apple on the tree so that it would come into your hoof with the stem and a single leaf still there. But I couldn't think about picking apples. My mind was on the most beautiful pony in this universe. She has a mane as red as a flame, as orange as a topaz, as yellow as a gleaming sun, as blue as a clear sky, and as purple as a glowing amethyst. Her soft eyes get a mischievous gleam in the sunlight. It is my dream to meet her, and watch her perform the Sonic Rainboom. But for now, I am stuck in stupid apple-picking school.
Suddenly a great yell snatched me back into reality, away from my wonderful fantasy. "KEYSTROKE! Answer Granny Smith's question!" Apple Bloom said, frustrated. The entire class was staring at me. I blushed in embarrassment. "W-well?" Granny said. "Uh, um, I, ah... We are going on the trip to practice picking apples so we can prepare for our exams help with the harvest season...?"
"Yes. Good job, Keystroke." Granny Smith glared at me with a frown enough to make a grown stallion run for his mommy.
"Keys! Bloom! We've been tryin' to get y'all up for hours ! You'll be be late to kindergarten if you don't hurry!" Applejack cautioned in her southern accent. I rose wearily from my comfortable position on my bed to rouse Apple Bloom and help her get ready. A kindergartener dressing his own classmate might seem... uncomfortable. My face was again red as the reddest Red Delicious while pulling on Apple Bloom's sweatshirt with my deflated muscles. I don't even think they're worthy of being called muscles.
As the bus stopped to pick up the next passengers, I decided to sit down and rest for a bit, I saw my stepsister talking to Pinkie Pie. "Hey Applejack!" I said, smiling, happy to see my sister again before school.
"Hey, Key!" she smiled back. "Pinkie Pie, this is my adopted brother, Harmonic Meteor. Everyone just calls 'im Keystroke, though."
"Hey, Keystroke!" Pinkie yelled in her bouncy voice. "How are you? 'Cause you sure sound happy. And exited! You are a Pegasus? I guess the Apple family needed help getting the apples at the top of the trees, huh? Now that you're here, they've got WAAAAAAY more apples than usual, right? Hey! We should introduce you to Twilight and Rarity and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash!" Right when she said the first syllable of Rainbow, I blushed as hard as a teenage colt could blush.
Applejack sensed my embarrassment and discomfort, and turned around. She saw me blushing. "Awww! Look! Keys has a crush on-"
"Shut up!" I yelled before she could say anything to show the terribly hidden secret, my crush's identity.
"Oh, nevermind," Pinkie said. "We both know anyway. Except her. She should know."
"Please! I'll do anything! Just don't tell her!" I cried, terrified at the thought of a Rainbow Rejection.
"Hi guys! Who's this, Applejack?" A voice from behind made me jump.
"Hey Dash!" Applejack happily exclaimed to the sudden voice's owner.
"R-Rainb-bow Dash-sh?" I muttered, slowly turning around.
"Yup! The one and only!" she confirmed. "Uh, are you alright?" My face was the redder than the reddest red thing. I was trapped between the subject of my infatuation and my smirking sister.
"Yup," I quickly stated, and flew off to the bus. We need to get on the bus to pick up the rest of the Apple family's kindergartners from all over Equestria. I knew it was going to take hours, so I whipped out my computer to practice hacking. I'm sure Princess Celestia wouldn't mind if I browsed her hidden documents and e-mail. Yeah, she probably would mind. So I typed in Princess Chrysalis' email and password and clicked on 'Login'. It worked. No surprise there. She needs to work on hiding her password better. I then clicked 'Drafts', because nothing in her inbox interested me. There I found an e-mail titled "REVENGE"and was sent to Changeling #12345678909. So I clicked on that e-mail. It said:
General: I need you to get a start on gathering all our strongest Changelings and have them turn into ponies. Turn yourself into the purple alicorn. Have five others turn into her friends. Take them all hostage. We also need Luna. Get them as fast as possible.
Greatly alarmed, I zipped off the bus at the next stop. Don't blame me! I was playing hookey for a good reason!
"AJ! It's me! Open up!" I begged in a loud whisper. After a number of hard knocks, Applejack came to the window and opened it up. I had galloped to to our barn. I was trying to look like an earth pony, and not the school-skipping pegasus I was. Yes, I felt guilty! What, am I a heartless changeling that despises school to you!?
"Aren't ya 'sposed to be in school?" she asked.
."Yes, but I need help with the... that... little thing I have about... Dash...," I tried to ask without revealing that.. you know.
"Everypony already knows, Key. You can't hide it from 'em." she cautioned.
"By everypony, you mean you and Pinkie?" I warily questioned the truth of her response.
"No, I mean the entire group except Dashie. They were gigglin', and they all wanted to tell 'er. But i convinced 'em to keep it a secret for ya." Aj admitted that she had exaggerated a bit.
"Well, can you help me, and maybe find out if she... likes me?" I blushed.
"Eeyup. I can do that for ya." She smiled. "Now fly back to school. I'll tell you whatever you want when you get back."
"All right! See you then!" I yelled as I zoomed to the farm for the dreaded field trip.
