Chapter 1: Derpling Rush
It was just another typical day in Ponyville. The kind where something horrible was bound to happen to the town whether the townspeople were prepared or not. This time, however, it wouldn’t be the fault of the Elements of Harmony screwing something up along the way.
Rainbow Dash had just woken up from her daily nap which mostly consisted of her rolling around up in her favorite cloud at the corner of town, far above the Everfree Forest and nearby Fluttershy’s cottage for a few hours, as her fellow pegasi did her job for her of moving said clouds. In her typical slacker ways, she began to think of an excuse to delay having to do actual work for a few more hours. ‘I know! ’ She proclaimed in her own head, ‘I’ll head on over to Pinkie’s, perhaps she’s imagined up some new pranks to play on the poor saps of Ponyville! ’
And so she went, off her cloud and towards the city. Zipping along though, she caught a glimmer in the corner of her eye. And what was said glimmer? Why none other than Fluttershy, her favorite yellow-coated, pet-loving, acts-shy-and-scared-so-ponies-feel-bad-for-her pegasi friend! And what else, was that from up above the skies where she could see, her little shy friend was also carrying a basket full of meat.
Now, usually this wouldn’t cause any stir as it was well known that Fluttershy took care of both herbivores and carnivores, and even the mix of two of omnivores around her little cottage. What was strange however was the fact that the little pony was seeming to walk into the Everfree Forest, a place full of baddies that would rip poor Fluttershy apart for that basket of meat. Without batting an eyelid, Rainbow Dash dove after the yellow pegasus, hoping to save the fool from entering the forest.
Slamming the butter-coated pegasus into the ground at eighty-eight miles per hour, dirt and meat flying everywhere, Rainbow Dash managed to save her friend from a fate worse than death… Only to realize her idiocy when the fact that this was Fluttershy we were talking about was the one entering such a dangerous place, and could easily take care of herself. She never was too bright when it came to remembering what her friends were like.
With a cute groan and a low audible “ouch”, Fluttershy had begun to pick herself up from the dirt, but began to wince in pain as she felt her wing had begun to bruise up from the impact. Careless Rainbow Dash had begun to feel terrible for the collision that she caused as she saw her friend hurt. “I’m sorry Fluttershy,” she began to explain, “I saw you heading towards the forest and the first thing that popped up into my head was to save you and that I-”
“It’s alright, Rainbow Dash.” Fluttershy replied as she continued to groan in pain. “You’re always the one to head into trouble and help your friends out when they’re in danger. You were only doing what you think was right.”
Rainbow Dash, now feeling guilty for hurting her adorable little friend, saw that the friendly pegasus was now having trouble picking the slabs of artificial beef off the ground and putting them back into the basket. “Hey, uh, Fluttershy? Do you need some help there?”
“Oh no, I could never (ouch). What type of friend (ouch) would I be if I asked for (ouch) help?” She said as she painstakingly continued to pick the meat up with her wings, not wishing to taste the foul carnivorous meal. Rainbow Dash being herself, she couldn’t take no for an answer, and began to pick up the meat herself and putting it into the basket. “Oh! Rainbow Dash, you don’t-”
“No way Fluttershy, I injured your wing just now due to my carelessness and sleepyheadiness, so its my responsibility to make sure you get this stuff to… whatever it is your feeding. By the way, what are you feeding that needs so much meat?”
Giddy with joy for the fact that Rainbow Dash seemed to suddenly take interest in her hobbies, though that wasn’t really the case at all. “Well if you must know, there’s a new type of species of animal that’s never been seen before not far into the forest. And the best part is, is that I’m the first one to find it!”
Rainbow Dash was stunned in disbelief for a second. Really? Did Fluttershy really just say that? “... Uh huh… and you think its a smart idea to go into the forest and begin to feeding a species of animal that’s never been documented before meat because… why?”
“Because they have sharp fangs, and look like they’d enjoy this meal.” She responded with confidence. That was that, apparently.
Fluttershy was correct in saying that it wasn’t far from the border of the forest, as whatever this (or perhaps these as Fluttershy began to insinuate to there being more than one type) creature was, its territory was clearly marked down on the floor of the forest. A thick, purple goo-type substance was coated onto ground, and any living thing that had been there before had wilted away. Corpses of various trees and animals surrounded them. How Fluttershy wasn’t afraid of any of this was a complete and utter mystery to her friend, or even the simple fact that despite any other creature seeming to have died from the stuff on the ground, they were quite alright walking on it. Soon enough though, they reached a clearing within the forest, and there they saw what Rainbow Dash could only assume was were the new species.
Several little canine-like creatures , purple in color, were happily playing around in the goop. Instead of having ears or tails, they seemed to have wings on their back, sharp fangs, and their little beady puppy-dog eyes to trick ponies into giving them treats. They also seemed to have the ability to quickly burrow into the ground, as some of them would quickly vanish from sight, digging into the ground before popping back up and roughhousing with the other variants of the creatures.
With a quick whistle, Fluttershy had broken Rainbow Dash’s fascination with the creatures as she began to call to them, gaining their attention. Signaling to Rainbow Dash to put down the basket full of meat, she yelled out to the creatures. “Come and get it!”
All of them stopped their roughhousing immediately and turned their attention the two pegasi, rushing at them at full speed. The scene seemed to terrify Rainbow Dash as she began to shake, or perhaps it was because the thundering of tiny legs against goop was doing the shaking against the ground. Within seconds, what was thoughts of intrigue turned to horror as the creatures had gone up to the pegasi and began devouring the basket with meat in it, fighting over the smallest bits. They also began to jump onto the pegasi in gratification, licking them and making strange insectoid-like noises from their mouths in appreciation.
As the creatures slobbered all over Rainbow Dash, pinning her to the ground so she couldn’t escape, all she could think of was that whatever they were, she knew she despised them.

Chapter 2: Pony Probelems
Whilst Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash continued to be Derpling Rushed in the Everfree Forest, other, more interesting things were taking place back in Ponyville. One such thing was that one of the local construction ponies, Jack Hammer , was in the process of building the skeletal form of the new wing for the town’s hospital.
As the brown stallion did his job, using the crane to lift a steel beam into the sky, he brooded over the fact that he had come into work late that day. As such, he was forced to work through his lunch break while his co-workers enjoyed their own meals. This was not what should be focused on though, as while he worked, the sound of something unfamiliar made itself known.
While the beam continued to lift into the sky, Jack looked around for the source of the sound, but could not find anything out of the ordinary. Thinking it as only a part of his imagination, the construction worker continued his duties. That only lasted for a few more moments, as not only did those imaginary sounds come back to him, but soon afterwards he felt a sharp pain in his flank.
The feeling of electricity striking him on his right back leg, the stallion yelped in pain as he leaped into the air in response to the unknown agony. As such, the stallion had accidently hit one of the levers holding onto the steel beam, causing the crane to let go of the construction material and the beam crashed into the dirt below. Had it actually destroyed the structure that had been built, many days of hard work would have been ruined.
Once he landed however, he quickly look in the direction of where the bolt of electricity came from, and was surprised. Right there, floating in mid-air, was a small yellow ball that seemed to also have spikes popping out of it. He didn’t know what it was, or how it got here, or even how it hurt him. All he did know was that whatever this thing was, it was going to pay for nearly wrecking all the hard work he and his co-workers had done, before thinking it was not worth his time. He began to shoo it away with one hoof, trying to go back to work. The little ball though, would have none of it, as it began to zap poor Jack even more, getting him to move out of the way of the crane.
Not really understanding what was going on, Jack could yelp in pain some more and begin to run away from the freaky mechanical monster. And as he continued to run away and freak out, the yellow ball would do its own job of pursuing the poor sap while it continued to barrage him with electricity.
Running out of the construction site, Jack had finally begin to feel the pain fade away. Looking around to see if the creature was still chasing him. Much to his relief, it was not, as he could see the little light that he could only assume was its eye watching him from afar, inside the skeletal structure. But now with this mysterious monster on the loose in the construction yard, he could hear the chatter of his fellow workponies as they were coming back from lunch.
When the foreman saw poor Jack outside of the construction yard, he was ready to chew him out once again for slacking on the job. Jack was quick on the uptake though, and began pleading his innocence to the foreman and co-workers. The foreman, and Jack’s co-workers, could only dismiss and chortle at such ridiculous claims that Jack was making. And so they went, back into the construction site, and to no surprise, no such yellow ball were waiting for them when they arrived.
What was there instead, was a giant crystal floating in the air, taunting them as it stored itself inside the foundation of their precious work. What was it? How did it get there? And most important, could they get rid of it? They would perhaps never get the answers… except for now.

Chapter 3: Cutie Mark Crusaders Marine Training!
While crazy things were going on in the town of Ponyville, the fillies of the town known as the Cutie Mark Crusaders, were in their treehouse on the edge of the Apple Family’s Orchard. Being there, they were in the process of thinking up of crazy and zany new ways to try to achieve getting their cutie marks, as was their regular schedule after school and days off. So far they had gone hoof-gliding, hockey, jousting, dark ritual summonings, and finally baking. How they got to baking after dark ritual summonings no one really knows.
“Ahhh, I’m so boooored!” Scootaloo complained as she rolled on the ground, trying to satisfy her boredom. It wouldn’t help at all though.
“I’m saying we should try baking again! I think we actually had something last time!” Sweetie Belle chimed in, only to be corrected by Applebloom right after.
“Do ya really think thats a bright idea? I mean, the fact that the apple fritters began devouring the muffins who were screaming in pain… I just don’t think that we have the talent to be making baked goods.”
“Oh, that was just the loose souls we summoned a few hours ago. There’s nothing to be afraid of now.”
“And how do you know that?” Scootaloo asked the confident white unicorn filly.
Unfortunately for the little filly, before she could come up with a rebuttal for her friend, all three began to hear various sounds outside. Sounds not exactly native to Equestria. To sate their curiosity, all three peeked their little heads out of the available windows in their tree fort. What they saw was too strange for words really.
A little blue bean-shaped humanoid figure , screaming its head off as it was being chased by numerous little brown and green monster things that looked strangely adorable. As they closed in on him, they would explode into a green, gooey mess, where everything touched by the goo would be instantly melted away. Oh the poor little trees that got caught in the crossfire, oh how they’ll never bear fruit again. Those poor, poor trees.
Soon enough, the bean man had somehow managed to outrun the monsters as the last one exploded, hitting Bloomberg Jr. The small sapling began to slowly wither away as it disappeared from existence. Sadly it meant the end of a new sex toy for Applejack if she never managed to find a mate in a few years.
With its heavy-breathing of trying to regain its stamina after all that running, the bean-man failed to notice the three little ponies watching him. Why they weren’t running away or looking for help was quite simply really. Exploding monsters and magical bean-men meant adventure! And adventure meant getting cutie marks! But all that didn’t matter to the blue alien, all he cared about was getting back home after running for so long. The fillies on the other hand, took advantage of the bean-man being oblivious to his surroundings, and all decided in a quiet manner, to follow the creature back to where it came from.
Walking not too far into the WhiteTail Woods, the Cutie Mark Crusaders finally managed to find the creature’s home, and boy was it a doozy. With a tapping motion on a metal structure on top of a hill, the fillies saw the structure quickly sink into the ground, allowing the bean-man to walk into place known as “home”, before the structure popped back up, blocking the way for anyone else.
Seeing how to get inside now, the Crusaders all agreed to a plan to get inside and seek adventure. It was simple too, just tap on the metal box!
Approaching it carefully, Applebloom was the first to strike it. In an instant, the structure sunk into the ground, allowing passage. The filly looked back her friends, who had been hiding in a nearby bush from a safe distance, a worried look on her face that said to them “I don’t want to do this.” She knew, however, that her friends would never let it go if she chickened out now. With a deep breath, and mustering up all her confidence, Applebloom took a step forward, then another, and another. She slowly began to make her way into the base, not knowing what to expect inside.
As Applebloom disappeared over the horizon, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle let out a sigh of relief as they believed their friend got in safely. That all changed however, as soon after they let out that sigh, a scream could be heard from within the base. A scream, belonging to Applebloom.
With quick reflexes and without thinking, Scootaloo jumped into action, charging at the metal structure with thoughts of rescuing her best friend. Sweetie Belle, hesitant, could only follow. Though she too wanted to save Applebloom from whatever fate she was in, she also thought it would be a great idea to go get an adult. She never spoke of her idea though as Scootaloo banged on the structure with panicked hooves, rushing in once the structure lowered. Sweetie could hear something along the lines of “At least I don’t have chicken.” when Scootaloo rushed in, thinking she misheard her friend.
As Sweetie Belle was the last one in, she could not see Scootaloo or Applebloom anywhere, only more buildings that looked like they belonged far into the future compared to the buildings in Ponyville, and the big blue sky above. She couldn’t see it all though, because as soon as she stepped into the alien base, she felt something wrapped around her arms. Something big and cold, and all she knew was that she didn’t like it. Letting out a high-pitched scream, she could only pray that somepony heard her back home. The chances of that were very slim though.
Soon after being captured, the three little ponies who all thought that horrible things were coming to them. That was both correct and incorrect though, as all three were put in a dark room with only a single light hanging above them, all three placed within school desks. They were confused, cold, scared, and all three began to quickly regret ever following the bean-man. When the entire room suddenly lit up though, what they saw both surprised them and scared them beyond Tartarus.
It was a classroom.
Yes, a classroom. A similar bean-man with a small cap on his head, a ruler in his left claw(?) as he tapped the chalkboard in front of the fillies with said ruler. Scootaloo let out a scream for help of her own while the other two Crusaders sat there, confusion in their eyes. That confusion only continued as the bean-man began to write on the chalkboard without saying a single word. After he was done, he turned around, revealing a problem of 2x2. He pointed the piece of chalk that was in his right claw towards Sweetie Belle, presumably telling her to come up and solve the problem he just put down on chalkboard.
Sweetie Belle, not really the one who was all that great in math, gulped in fear. What would happen if she got it incorrect? Would they bring her to some type of chamber to torture her? Would they eat her? What would happen? Trying to put all her fears to the back of her head, she slowly got out of the seat clearly meant for the bean-men, and approached the teacher. Picking the chalk out of the creature’s claw with her mouth, she began to ponder what the answer to the question was.
The fears however began to creep back into her mind, and as time slowly passed by, Sweetie Belle became more terrified of the creature standing next to her. Hoping to get the answer right, she quickly answered with the number “5”, before looking back at the creature for confirmation.
The creature looked at the answer, then back to Sweetie Belle, then back to the answer. As he stared at the blackboard, Sweetie began to sweat profusely in fear. But like everything else, what came next was unexpected, as the teacher simply shrugged at the answer before turning around to get something behind him. Once he faced Sweetie Belle again, he seemed to be holding some type of metallic device , to which he wrapped it around on the little filly before pushing her out of the only door that seemed to exist in the room. The same thing soon happened to Scootaloo and Applebloom, as all three were absolutely confused about everything that happened that day.
Needless to say, to get away from the non-adventure they had that day, all three of them took their new prizes(?) back home, none of them saying a single word the entire time. Without even saying goodbye to one another, they all went in the directions of their respective homes, still not saying a word to one another. All three eating dinner, taking their baths, mindlessly doing their homework, all before going to bed, still wearing those prizes… That’s where it all exploded.
“WHAT IN TARTARUS JUST HAPPENED?!”
All three were later punished for yelling in the middle of the night and for using the name of the underworld in vain.
