Bloody Rain
Outbreak
Load Full StoryA clustered sensation sends through my body as I lay in my bed. I sink through the blankets but search to get up. I can see my red, orange and yellow streaks cover one eye. I realize that usually Scootaloo is here to help me up.
"Where is she?" I mutter to myself.
I drag my hoof along the blankets looking for a corner, to pull the blanket up and off of me. Instead I find strait blankets. I decide to just kick the blankets off of me and head to my door. As I do I hear a bang from down the hall.
"Scoots?" I say unsure.
I trot through my door and down the hall to her door. I open the door with my hoof to see she is gone. I jump into the air and fly down the hall to the main entrance. When I am about to head out, at the corner of my eye. Scootaloo is practising how to fly in the kitchen.
She doesn't look at me but knows I'm there, "Do you think my wings will ever grow?" She turns to me.
I stand and look at them, "Well. Even if they don't, you will still have me to fly ya around!"
"But Rainbow Dash, I want to fly. When I'm your age, I don't want to be flown around by you."
This makes me laugh slightly. "Ok. Then do you want me to teach you how to fly?"
She grins. "Yes!"

We leave the house and out the door. We reach a spot my a nearby tree. She sits below it and stares at me.
I stare back, "So. First I want you to show me how you fly now."
She stands on her four legs and walks out from beneath the tree. She stands in the sun and faces me. She stretches her wings out and concentrates on a lady bug crawling on one of the trees many branches. She starts to flutter her wings faster and faster. Lifting up one leg at a time until she only has one more leg to get off the ground. When she lifts that one leg off the ground, she begins to flap her wings heavier. She squeezes her eyes shut. She stays in the air 3 seconds before falling out of the air and landing on her stomach.
"Here's the thing," I start. "your trying way too hard."
"What do ya mean?" She asks.
"First," I stretch out my wings and gently lift off the ground. Flapping my wings slowly. "Your flapping your wings too hard. If your not comfortable with flying, get into the comfort zone."
"Are you sure it's not 'cause my wings are so tiny?"
"I'm sure. Now, let's try again. This time, flap slower."
She positions herself into the sun. She stares at her wings as, once again, she stretches her wings out. She switches her head up into the tree, searching for the ladybug that most likely flew away. Instead she focuses on a tree branch. She begins to flap her wings fast.
"SLOW!"
She remembers and nods. "Ok."
She focuses on the tree branch again. She starts to flap her wings slowly. Lifting of the ground gently. She stares down at me, and begins to flap a little faster. She raises her head and smiles towards the clouds. She suddenly zooms up and flies up into the clouds. I jump to my feet and fly after her. When I'm about 4 feet away from her, she turns down towards the earth.
"NO SCOOTS!" I scream after her. "YOUR NOT CAPABLE FOR A RAINBOOM. YOUR NOT LIKE ME!"
"I know." She smiles.
She turns fast towards her scooter when she gets 1 foot above the ground. She hops on her scooter and flies by everypony on her scooter. Flames beginning to fly out from under her wheels. Diamond tiara and Silverspoon's mouths both drop as they catch a first glimpse at Scootaloo's cutie mark, a scooter with a flame around it.
