Transequine Dreams: Mark of Ages

Hi, everypony. I wrote this during my first couple weeks as a Mormon missionary while dealing with double depression. I'm back early due to the condition, which is why I am able to publish this so soon after season three. As I recover from dysthymic disorder, perhaps I'll eventually regain the motivation to keep writing. Anyway, this is the first and by far the longest true piece of fiction I've attempted so far, so I'm fairly proud of it.

Some head-canon that will become relevant later (SPOILERS AHEAD):

Derpy sees fine, but a few seconds into the future; her cutie mark is not bubbles, but contacts, the third representing a third eye. An outsider is what Equestria needs? Pinkie is a changeling, and all female changelings are queens. Cadence was granted alicorn immortality, but she's still an experiment in cultural acceptance. Luna's stars aren't hers. Blue's children will be Hyperdrive (colt) and Overflow (filly) - either with Pinkie, Dash, or Twilight. Changelings can't convert ponies (unless their fangs are for that purpose?). Tartarus?

The ponified version of the Singularity will be the Equinox.
