While traveling to the great Kazen City with a caravan, Xerath and Xena are attacked by mysterious zebras riding Nightcrawlers. Xena is taken for reasons unknown and the assailants disappear without a trace. Now, Xerath must find out where they have taken Xena and get her back. But when he finds out that they were followers of an ancient god, Vol'Arachno, how will he save her, and why would a spider god need a Dream Seer?
