The Meeting
It has been a very long week for me here in the Kingdom of Equestria. My unexpected move here hasn't necessarily been “pleasant.” Ponies keep boggling me with questions. Most common questions stem from my appearance, since I have come here as a human; a creature I know they have never seen before. Since my arrival, I have been very secluded from many of the ponies, although, I have been able to meet Princess Celestia and Princess Luna when I first arrived, but the conversation was mostly with Celestia (she was the very reason I even have a house in the first place), very brief and really bland. I wasn't able to talk to Princess Luna. Luna seems to be strangely anti-social, which is very similar to me. She seems to have trouble making friends like I did in the place where I once lived. After dwelling around the streets of Canterlot, I decided I have had enough strange looks for the evening, and I should go back to my new “humble abode” to get some sleep. But as soon as I arrive, I see Princess Luna is waiting for me, standing patiently by my front door. As I approach my door, I bow before her, and she greets me.
"Hello Noctis.” Luna says, “I have been waiting here for you for quite some time. I apologize that we did not get a chance to speak to each other and properly introduce ourselves. I am Princess Luna, sister of Princess Celestia. I raise and lower the moon.” I bow to her and say, “Greetings, Princess Luna. My name is Noctis and I live here in Equestria.” “May I ask you a question Noctis?" Luna says. "Yes your majesty.” I say, “What do you have in mind?” “How exactly was the place where you lived before?” Luna asked. “Please do explain in utmost detail, for I am fascinated. I have never seen someone like you before.” Happily agreeing, I tell her all about the basics of the human world. My anti-social life, the government, what I do for fun, etc. Very observantly, Luna says "That is certainly intriguing Noctis. Would you care to tell me more inside your home?" Shocked, I stutter, "Y-yes princess right this w-way." as she is royalty, and this is a completely unexpected question.
My house here in Canterlot isn’t any different compared to the other houses in Canterlot. I have just a lot of things thrown around, since I don’t quite understand where everything goes yet. I am fumbling around trying to pick a few things up and make the house look at least a little bit more appealing. And also, how am I going to talk to her? She is a princess, and I’m just stupid ol’ Noctis me. I am definitely stressing out right now, and it must be very obvious to Princess Luna, as she says, "Noctis... Are you alright? You are acting quite strangely." I bow and ask Princess Luna for her forgiveness "Princess please forgive me I beg you. I just haven’t had to speak with royalty, and I'm not quite good with social interaction." "It is quite alright Noctis.” she says, “I too have trouble with social interaction, as I have been banished to the moon for 1000 years.” she says, “And please, call me Luna.” never disagreeing with royalty, I nod in agreement.
"So Noctis,” she continues, “Please tell me more about this human world of yours. I am truly interested." Happily, I say "Why of course Prince- I mean Luna. Unfortunately, my world was not pleasant. It was one of constant terror and destruction by almost any means necessary. A definition of true chaos. There were weapons we called Atomic Bombs that would eradicate all life within a gigantic radius. We also had gigantic robots, in which we would fight evil creatures of extravagant sizes. It was practically a living Hell" Shocked, Luna says "My, my Noctis no wonder you left. Sounds like a powerful, but evil world. I'm happy you're safe here in Equestria.” As she looks out into the night sky, she says “It's not often I get someone that is willing to stay up with me all night. Would you like to come with me to the castle? I believe I can trust you enough to allow you to enter my room in the castle. I'm sure you could find a ride." I happily said "I'd be delighted Luna. Could you ride to the castle with me? I don’t know my way around here quite yet.” Luna replied, "Why sure Noctis. I'd be delighted to ride with you to the castle." I hail a taxi carriage to take us to the royal castle. Being a gentleman, I let Luna in first, with me following.
I decided to tell a bit more about myself on the ride there. “You know Luna, although I have trouble with social interaction, I was a pilot for one of the giant robots." Intrigued, Luna says, "That is truly interesting Noctis. I would have never even guessed you would be one of the pilots, no offense intended.” “None taken” I said with a smile. “You are quite the interesting person Noctis,” Luna said, “Wouldn’t it get hot in those suits?" Luna slowly gets closer to me. “Oh yes it was definitely hot in there.” Deciding to be cute with her a little, I said. “But it might just be you... Although, it did get seriously hot operating those robots." I said, laughing playfully. Luna looks like she has multiple questions about the giant robots, but she asks more questions about my used-to-be regular life.
"Noctis, how was an average day of your life on your world like?" she asked. I start feeling a little too comfortable with princess Luna, I start joking around with her, bragging, and talking smack. "Yeah, you know, I'd just be destroying monsters all by myself in the huge robot. Everyone else was rendered inferior by my power. "Noctis,” Luna smiled, “you and I both know that's not true” she said, laughing. “You don't have to lie to me." “I know, Luna, I’m just having a little fun.” I said, laughing. After I had my fun, I decide I should tell her about my life at high school, where I used to get shunned because my interest in giant robots was quite frowned upon because the students at the school were against the fighting that destroyed the city. And, while I agreed with them, I simply would just ignore them, and take all the abuse in the shadows that I put myself in. I just felt a slight sense of joy whenever I entered my mech. I was away from the world, in solitude. Sometimes, I would pilot the robot to a faraway location, and just play video games, or watch TV in it.
"This life sounds very interesting Noctis, but unfortunately we do not have this TV, or video games that you speak of here, so forgive me if I don't understand completely." She says. “It’s ok Princess, no worries” I tell her. We arrive to the royal castle shortly afterwards, and I follow Luna to her room. Her room is very much like a typical room. Maybe a little more room to walk around, but just a typical room. The walls were painted a beautiful Midnight Blue, like her coat. Two double doors on the right, which probably lead to a walk-in closet. In the back of the room, are two bigger-than-average doors, with Luna’s cutie mark right in the middle, and a Nightmare Moon-looking symbol above and in the middle of the two doors. The window is positioned to line up perfectly with the moon and constellations. It is very relaxing, and it kind of made me sleepy. The doors were propped open to show a balcony, and a perfect view of the moon in view. She has what seems to be an Eastern king bed, with her cutie mark on the blanket, and pillow sheet. At the head of the bed is a long arc window, looking out into the Everfree Forest, And there’s an overhead window on the ceiling at the head of the bed, as well. The bed honestly looks quite comfortable. Luna leaves me in her room for a short period of time, while she attends to a quick royal duty. While waiting, I find her diary open on her desk near the bigger-than-average double doors, and read what it says out of curiosity.
It read, "Dear diary, It has been over a year now since I've been freed from the moon and returned from my banishment. Even now, the memories of being Nightmare Moon still haunt me. Things like the pain I caused my sister. I know she didn't want to use the Elements of Harmony. But I really left her no choice. I nearly completely demolished our old castle. I am still filled with sorrow over my foolish mistakes, but I am happy to be me and not be under the control of Nightmare Moon. I'm happy to be back and be loved by my sister. Unfortunately my people are still having mixed feelings about me, regardless of what I do. I can sense that they are improving around me though. I met a strange being named Noctis. It was his first day in Equestria as he obviously was not from around here. I believe if I make a strong enough first impression maybe I can find someone who loves me as my sister does.” I felt emotionally touched seeing how this Pony is filled with remorse, never ending regret, and sorrow Like I was. I see she's now depressed as much as I was when I was on Earth. Immediately, I decide step away from the diary before Luna catches me. Too late.
"Noctis... Were you just reading my private diary?" Luna said, sounding upset. I have been caught. I felt terrible and guilty, and decided confess to my transgression. "Luna I'm so sorry. I was curious to find out more about you as a pony, and I was too afraid to ask. Although I am greatly sorry, I see now that you are very similar to me in my old world. Please forgive me Luna, my princess." Smiling, Luna said, “I forgive you Noctis. I kind of left my diary open on purpose because I wanted you to read it. I was hoping you would so I wouldn't have to explain myself in much more detail." Princess Luna and I hug, and start to discuss Nightmare Moon.
She told me of the corrupting power that the Nightmares had over her. She had felt so insecure compared to her sister. All the ponies basked in her sister’s precious light, while her beautiful night had gone unappreciated, as all the ponies had slept in it and done nothing else. She started feeling increasingly jealous of her sister by the day. She started fighting against her Sister about the length of her night, and she started to refuse her sister’s requests to lower the moon. As the days went on, Her night would get increasingly longer until finally, the Nightmares corrupted Luna and she altogether had refused to lower the moon under any circumstances, and had finally turned into Nightmare Moon.
After an hour or so of telling me everything about her past, Luna was a lot happier, and I had also helped her feel better about Nightmare Moon. “Thank you for coming here, Noctis, it was a real pleasure. Would you like to do anything else?” she asked. "Luna would you mind if I stayed the night here with you? We could have some nice tea and snacks and chat, and stuff. I'd really love to spend more time with the nicest Pony in Equestria." I asked. "Noctis I would love to have you to stay!” Luna said excitedly. “Thank you for the compliment as well!" Looking out for her well-being, I said, "Luna, also some advice really quickly. If you want the citizen’s adoration and respect then I suggest you become a patronage of the arts. It can't go wrong." Smiling, she said "Thank you for your concern Noctis. I'll most definitely do it.” Then she asked, “Hey Noctis, just wondering, would you like to see me lower the moon when the time has come?"
"I'd give anything to see you lower your beautiful glistening moon Luna.” I said. “Luna, just out of curiosity, do you have a special somepony, or have you ever had one? I'm sure someone so nice and beautiful can't keep the stallions away." I said, gently blushing. "Actually Noctis, I have not. This may come as a surprise to you but I simply don't match with any Pony." She said, with a stern, almost upset look on her face. Seeing this look on her face, I begin to realize I have feelings for Luna, but I’m not really sure if now is the right time to make a move on her, and possibly ruin the strongest friendship I have ever created. I shrug it off, and decide to play it safe, at least for now, and not rush things too fast. Eventually, I decide to show off my hands.
"Luna, would you like to see the applications my hands have? For my anatomy is different and it’ll be a good learning experience to understand the use of my hands." I asked. "Yes Noctis I'd like that.” She said, “I am intrigued by your strange anatomy. Thank you for offering." I start doing all kinds of things with my hands, flexing them, typing, finger painting, cheesy hand shadows, and other things with my hands that a pony would have a difficult time doing. While I did mostly silly fun stuff, I also do some serious things to reassure Luna I’m not someone who doesn't take anything seriously.
After showing the usefulness of my hands, it’s now time for Luna to lower the moon, in order for Celestia to raise the sun. I stand out there with Luna on the balcony of her room, watching every beautiful moment from the moon fall, to the Twilight, all the way to the sunrise, in absolute awe. "Luna that was outstanding and extraordinary! I can't believe what I just saw!" Luna blushes and says, "why thank you Noctis." She smiles a little and adds, "although you need to give credit where credit is due, my sister did do half the work" she laughs a little like a giggle. “I still think you’re lowering of the moon was the better of the two” I say, smiling. "Say Noctis, before we sleep, would you like to play a game?" Luna asks. Her asking me to play a game with Luna definitely brings out her playful side. She really seems to be warming up to me. By the way today has been going; I’m not quite sure what could happen by days end.
"Sure Luna what game did you have in mind?" I asked. "I suggest a classic game. Chess. it's of the most intelligent games in Equestria.” she suggested. “What do you think Noctis?" "I love chess!” I said, a little too excitedly. “I bet I could easily best you In this game. It is my forte." "Oh really now? It's your forte Noctis?” she said. “Are you just saying that to please me?” "Not at all Luna.” I reply. “Though it may not be my forte, I am still very good in the game." Luna and I play an extremely long game of chess, concentrating on nothing but pure strategy to defeat each other. It was a very, very hard and intense match, until a royal guard had accidentally tripped into the room, and knocked over all the chess pieces resulting in a draw between our intellects.
"Royal guard, may I just ask why you have disturbed Noctis and I? We were in a very engaging game of chess and I was about to win." Luna said. "No,” I replied, playfully “I was about to win Luna, don't even lie." "Regardless.” She implied. “Guard, what are you doing? Is there something wrong?" "Princess Celestia has requested an audience with you your majesty and your friend Noctis. I merely was acute, I apologize Princess Luna. "Hm I wonder what my sister could want with us. Come on Noctis this is a great time to see some of the castle for a bit!" I follow Luna into Celestia's room. Eventually, we arrive in the room of Princess Celestia.
"Greetings Noctis and hello to you to my dear sister. I have heard that you two were spending the night with each other." Princess Celestia said. "Yes we have” I said, “and personally, I have had more fun with your sister than I have my entire life in my old world." "I agree.” Luna chimed in. “Noctis is a very amazing person, and has also taught me much about his anatomy such as these ‘hands’ of his. I knew when he first came that something was different so I managed to come into contact with him right after I had raised the moon." Celestia, smiling, said “Well, I'm glad to hear that you two have been getting along so well. But Noctis, that isn't the reason I called you and Luna down here for.” Celestia’s smile faded, as there was something important to be discussed "Then what is the reason dear sister?" Luna asked, very curious. "I have found a way for Noctis to go back home!” Celestia said, delightfully. “As you may know, Noctis came here by accident, not by choice.” Celestia explained, “and since I learned that, I have been working on a way to send him back to where he is from so he can be with the rest of his kind.” I stand there, in disbelief. So does Luna. "B-but Celestia, does that mean I could never come back to this magical and wondrous kingdom of yours and Luna's?” I asked, scared. “Unfortunately Noctis, Yes. But I doubt you’ll even remember us when you go back.” Celestia explained. “Through my research, I have found that you had a very nice special someone. You also had a Mother and Father who loved you, although your Father passed not long ago. I know you may have lost some of your memories when you came here. so I just want to help you remember.”
That’s when I started to remember I had a girlfriend. She was one of those girls who dyed her hair a misty night blue, instead of light blue like all the other girls did. I also even remember that many years ago, I found out her family was royalty, that I discovered searching up her family tree, and she was anti-social as well. That’s when I realized that’s the reason why I must’ve fallen in love with Luna so quickly. Then, in the corner of my eye, I see Luna is deeply saddened that I have to go, especially since we were having so much fun.
I’m having the biggest internal struggle right now, either to choose my old world, or this one. It’s even more pressured, as my choice is final regardless of which one I make. On one hand, I will have Princess Luna, and all of Equestria, and endless possibilities and more peace than the human world will ever get. But, on the other hand, I have my girlfriend, who is pretty much a human version of Luna, minus a few slight differences. I also have a loving family who cares about me. Frustrated, I ask “Princess Celestia. Do I really have to choose? It's an extremely difficult choice to make." Celestia said, with a frown "I'm afraid if you don't go through the portal in a few minutes then you are here forever. You have no choice but to live here with us ponies." I sit and just think of the positives and negatives of each decision. Each positive on one side, though, almost immediately creates a negative on the other. I’m thinking about this so hard; I feel my head throbbing into a Migraine.
"Oh Noctis! Please, please, don't leave! I beg you!” Luna pleads, tears gently flowing from her eyes. “You are the only person other than my sister and the other princesses that truly understand me!" She bursts into tears here, which must be really unlike her, because even Princess Celestia is taking notice of it. These two decisions are really hurting my head, and literally tearing me to shreds. Time is running out. It’s now or never.
That’s when I come to realize, my race is the worst of all races. my girlfriend’s probably already slept with 5 other guys since my arrival here, my mom most likely sold all my old stuff like my Mech to get some money in her bank account, not to mention they probably all think I am dead. The only person who really cared about me was my dead father, and the rest of my family never truly cared about me, or even knew me. But a few questions still remain: will I be able to make friends and a family of my own here? Is it really going to be that easy? Celestia interrupts my train of thought, "Well Noctis? Have you made your final decision?" Being selfless, I do it for Luna. I look up at Celestia, right into her eyes and say, "I have chosen to stay here Princess Celestia. My special someone has probably already found someone else. As for my family, they most likely traded in all my belongings for their own wealth. I doubt they miss me. Thank you, Princess Celestia, but no thank you. I'd love to stay in your amazing and peaceful kingdom with Princess Luna and all the other ponies as a citizen. That is my final decision.”
Luna jumps in joy and flies over to me to give me a hug. As I prepare for the hug, I had noticed that Celestia gave a brief look of disappointment from my decision statement. It’s almost as if she was mad at me, and hostile towards me for my decision. Regardless, she granted me full citizenship. Fatigued, I said "Luna would you like to go to sleep now? it has been about an hour since the sun rose, and I’m beat." “Why of course Noctis! I'd love to sleep with you!” Luna said, excitedly. “Come; let us go to my room again. Thank you for everything sister! You truly are the best to me!" Celestia said, laughing nervously," You're welcome Luna! Sleep well! You To Noctis." “Thank you princess Celestia.” I replied. “I truly am grateful that you allowed me to live here in Equestria. Luna is such an amazing pony, and I never want to lose her."
I lie next to Princess Luna, and fall asleep with her. I have an odd dream about Celestia banishing me for some reason. But right before I get banished, Luna comes in and stops it all. I share a hug with her. I wake up, and look at the time. It appears to be about 1:00 PM, however Luna is still asleep. I get out of bed, and I decide to pay Celestia a visit, as she still haunts my subconscious from the dream I had earlier. I knock on the door to Celestia’s room, and the guards let me in without question, knowing I am a friend of Princess Luna's. As I walk in, Celestia seems surprised to see me, more of a delightful surprise this time, much unlike what I was expecting.  
"Welcome Noctis! What brings you back to my room?" Celestia asks. “Celestia,” I explained, “I noticed that you grimaced a bit when I had made my final decision earlier this morning. Although I know you were trying to hide it Celestia, do you not like the fact that I am here?”
Celestia had a sad look on her face, "Oh Noctis I'm so sorry, and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. It’s just that I had to use extremely dangerous, evil, and dark magic in order to open up that portal, and when you decided not to go, I was shocked. It had felt as if my hard work was for nothing." Touched, I said, "Celestia please, all the hard work you went through: researching my life and opening that portal did not go unappreciated. I greatly thank you for what you wanted to do for me, as you had good intentions in your heart. Thank you very much. You see, the civilization that I used to live in isn't nearly as peaceful as your civilization. Most people are cold hearted, and are willing to turn their back to you as friendship, and its power of magic has decreased over time in my world." I explained. "Thank you Noctis.” Celestia said, smile on her face. “I consider you now a close friend of mine, as well. You should probably get back to Luna before she wakes up, though. She might get heart-broken if she finds out you're not there with her." Celestia sends me off, as I say goodbye to her, and make my way back to Luna. As I arrive back to her room, she is still beautifully sleeping, and I wouldn’t dare to touch her and disturb her peaceful slumber
As I wait for Luna to naturally wake up, I decide I should surprise her, and make her something to eat. So I run back to Celestia, to ask if it would be alright to use the Royal Kitchen. Although she was hesitant at first, she started to encourage it, once she finds out it’s for her sister. I didn’t know much time I had until she woke up, so I began to make Luna a fancy breakfast, but not too fancy. While it’s not the best dish I have ever served, the meal includes French Toast with oranges, maple syrup, as well as sparkling apple cider. My mouth waters just from looking at it. After finishing putting it together, I carefully bring it to Luna's room. get to her room, with food in my lap, and patiently wait until she wakes up. Not too much later, she wakes up, shocked to see that I made her food to eat.
"Noctis!” she exclaims, “Thank you so much! How thoughtful of you!" Luna smiles as I sit next to her as she eats the delicious meal you made. “I hope you enjoy it Luna,” I said nervously. I realized that I hadn’t made food in a while. “I worked quite hard to make it." “This food is simply Delectable!” she exclaimed. “It is scrumptious!" I smiled, and said "I'm glad you enjoy it.” After she finishes eating, Luna looks at me and asks me a very important question: "Noctis, the Grand Galloping Gala is happening in 2 nights. Would you like to come with me to the event? It is simply one of the biggest events in all of Equestria." “I’d be delighted to go with you Princess Luna." I said, smiling. “Come now Noctis” Luna continued, “we must get clothing arranged for you, and I know just the pony to help you out. Her name is Rarity, one of Princess Twilight Sparkle's best friends. She has made outstanding garments for her friends last year, and I bet she would love the challenge of making garments for someone such as you.” I happily agree, and follow Luna to the train station, and wait for a train to Ponyville to arrive.
As the train arrives, I realize that I have never been in Ponyville before. I get quite curious to see how much different it is than the high class Canterlot. I get onto the train and wait for the long ride to Ponyville. When we arrive, I take a good look around the little city. It’s very friendly and peaceful, I could understand why someone would want to live and work here. Eventually, Luna and I arrive at Rarity's Boutique. Luna knocks on the door and a white pony with a curly purple mane, who I assume is Rarity, opens the door. She looks similar to a pony that would live in Canterlot, yet she lives in Ponyville. While this confused me a tad, I pushed the thought aside.
"Hello Rarity, how have you been?" Luna greets Rarity. "My word, Princess Luna,” Rarity says, “what brings you here? And I am doing great! Who is this now? He certainly can't be a pony correct?" “Go on Noctis” Luna pushed me towards Rarity a bit, “introduce yourself to Rarity, she won't bite." Luna said playfully. "Hello Rarity,” I introduce myself, “my name is Noctis, and I am a human, I come from a different world. May I ask how you and Luna met?” I asked. I liked knowing how friends become, well, friends. “Well, we first met when she was Nightmare Moon and was released from her banishment of 1000 years in the moon." Rarity explained, "and we had got rid of her evil persona with the Elements of Harmony, and she was reborn good." She said with a friendly smile. "We also met once again during Nightmare Night where I gave her a makeover to try to help the people see that she's not a bad pony anymore." Luna exclaimed "Yes, I remember that! Although you made me pink, the dress was spectacular! This is actually why we are here. I would love for you to make me a new dress for the Gala!" After she said she said that, she looked at me. "Also, I think you could try to make something formal for my friend that I'm going with, Noctis. I know it will be a challenge, but I doubt that you can't handle it.”
"Oh it will be a delightful challenge!" Rarity said, "Noctis, did you have anything in mind?" Not wanting to sound like an idiot, I said, "Why yes Rarity, I do have an idea. I was thinking I could wear a tuxedo, if you may." I asked, "I'm sure stallions around here have worn tuxedos before." “Why, yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. And I know that would simply look dashing on you. I'll need you to stay with me for a while, as I have never made a tuxedo for anyone other than a stallion, so forgive me. And you Princess Luna? What would you like to wear?" “I’ll wear anything you make me, Rarity, as long as you don't make me pink again." Luna chuckled, "pink isn't exactly my color, I'm afraid. Maybe the colors could be something that fits my colors." Luna said. "Oh, don't forget to make Noctis's tuxedo be the same color too." Luna added.
"Oh of course!" Rarity says, Don't you worry, Princess. I'll make you the best dress in all of Equestria!" "Rarity, you know I prefer to be called Luna," she implies, “or, at least by my friends." “You’re right, I apologize." Rarity clears her throat, "Anyways Luna, would you like to stay here too while I make Noctis's outfit?" Luna frowns and says, "As much as I would love to, unfortunately I must attend to some duties. I am still a princess after all. Noctis, please come back to the castle before I raise the moon, I'd like you to be there with me when I do so you can watch it 'glisten’”.
“Will do Luna!" I happily replied. As Luna exits the boutique, leaving me and Rarity alone, my curiosity gets the better of me, and I start to ask her questions like, "what were the Elements of Harmony," etc. "So Noctis," Rarity asks, "do you have a special somepony?" Thinking hard about this I said, "It depends. She is very special to me, but she doesn't quite know it yet." " Oooooh do tell more!” Rarity said, very excited. “Could it be Princess Luna that captured your heart?" "It is, actually.” I said, smiling. “She and I have a lot in common, and have become very close. She and I have similar personalities as well." “My dear Noctis!” Rarity said, excited and shocked, “She is Royalty! You are a mere citizen! I Must must MUST make your tuxedo the fanciest I can make, so her status is not infringed by you!" I figured she didn’t know I lived In Canterlot, or how much I hung out with Luna.
"Thank you so much Rarity, you are too kind and too generous.” I said “If there is anything I can do to repay you, please do not hesitate to ask me." "Oh Noctis, I don't need any repayment. All I wish is that you will look Outstanding in the outfit I am making for you." I found it surprising a pony could be this generous, she hardly knows me, and only wants me to look good in my Tuxedo. Rarity measures every nook and cranny of my body, some that a normal fitter wouldn’t even think of measuring, to make the most accurate tuxedo she can. Which makes sense; it is her first and probably only time making something for a human, seeing as how I am the only one in Equestria.
I look out the boutique as Rarity’s is fitting me and making me wear different Tuxedos, and I see that Celestia’s sun is close to setting, and Luna’s night is soon coming. I know I must leave the boutique soon if I am able to meet up with Princess Luna on time to see her raise the majestic moon. Keeping that thought in the back of my head, I get to thinking. What even is the Grand Galloping Gala? I looked at Rarity and said, "Hey Rarity I have a question." “What is your question Noctis?" Rarity said, looking concerned. “Actually, I have three questions, The first of which is: what exactly is the Grand Galloping Gala? Luna seems to be downright dying for itto happen. What exactly is it? I haven't heard of it until she mentioned it to me earlier today."
Rarity, making a “phew” sound, said "The Grand Galloping Gala is a formal gathering of ponies; it is somewhat like a party, but very, very formal except for last year where Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Flutter Shy, Applejack and I somewhat "Crashed the party" so-to-speak. But, odd as it may be, it was to Princess Celestia's delight, as we made it more interesting. So go in expecting the unexpected, because I'm not really sure what is going to happen." “Alright,” I said blushing, “thank you for the insight. I was thinking it was some kind of race."
"Oh heavens no.” Rarity said, chuckling, “Now, what is your second question?" Nervously, I said, "What is your opinion of me? Am I handsome? Am I rude? Am I a gentleman? I don’t know what to think." Rarity examined me for a minute or two, and said, "In my opinion, you do look nice, but I can't really say I have a good opinion because there is no one else in Equestria like you for comparison. You do seem like a gentleman, though. I heard that you made Luna a meal while she was asleep, which is very gentleman like, in my opinion."
Thank you very much, Rarity” I said. “You are very welcome, Darling.” Rarity said happily. “My third question is what is your opinion on Princess Luna?" Looking out her window onto Celestia’s setting sun, she said, "I believe Princess Luna is still a misunderstood pony. She still has trouble fitting in, and I guess the reason why she is going to the Gala is mainly to attempt and catch the hearts of the public.” She explained, “That, and because she must like you. She doesn't tell many ponies what she's feeling, and she is more of the secluded type. She is a wondrous princess, however and the moon looks 10 times nicer than when Celestia was doing both sun and moon." Smiling, I said "Thanks Rarity, I appreciate your insight. I trust that my tuxedo will be ready in time. I must be heading off now. I’ll visit tomorrow to see the progress, hopefully with Luna."
I exit the boutique and desperately think of things to do I can to get to the castle in time, as it felt like dusk would arrive at any time. Rushing to towards the train station in attempt to make the earliest train, Princess Luna swoops down in front me. Startled, but elated, I said, “Luna! It’s so great to see you again! I missed you! "Luna said happily but exhausted, "And I missed you too, Noctis. Taking care of royal duties is quite the royal pain in the flank. I saw you rushing to the train station, and I thought I would ride the train with you to Canterlot so you don't feel lonely, if that is alright with you." I happily said, "That would be perfect Luna." and walked with her to the Train Station. As we board the train, we begin to have a nice conversation about the events that happened today, including her royal duties.
"Luna...” I asked nervously, “would you mind if I slept with you again? It is terribly lonely in my home, and nopony in Canterlot seems to want to talk to me, other than to ask me what I am." "You can sleep with me every night if you wish.” Luna said happily. “Being in the castle is pretty lonely, although it can't be your residence, for you aren't royalty" She said, seeming kind of upset about it.
After the train ride, Luna and I are on the balcony in which I stood earlier today to see the Luna set moon and Celestia rise the Sun. Princess Luna raises the Beautiful moon, and it looks even better than I remembered it to be. "Luna, Did you do something with the moon tonight?” I asked,”It looks much more enchanting tonight than it did yesterday." As I say that, Luna Blushes a bright shade of red. “I actually haven't done anything this time,” she said very playfully, “If you think this looks enchanting tonight, and then you'll be blown away the night of the Gala" She smiled. "Well then,” I said with a smile, “I can't wait until then.” I said, with a very warm smile, “You're beautiful moon isn't the only thing that looks enchanting tonight Luna. You are competing with it for the most beautiful thing tonight." Luna blushes again and says "Oh Noctis, You're flattering me." and laughs a little. "So Noctis,” she continues, “now that I raised the moon, I have some free time to do whatever you want to do. What game would you like to play? I chose last time, you know.”
After heavy consideration of every game I used to play, I come to a conclusion. "Hey Luna, how about a game of Ludo? It’s a huge classic in the world I come from." I said. "We have Ludo here as well,” Luna said, surprising me. “Though it is not as popular here, as I assume it is in your world. I believe I have it stashed away somewhere in my closet. Mind finding it?" Agreeing to help her search, We go to her walk in closet, which is neatly filled with games, books, and clothes she never wears. We look through her closet for the game, and after what feels like hours, we eventually find it after rummaging through her belongings way past long enough.
While it wasn’t as fun as the chess match, we play a nice game of Ludo and we both enjoy ourselves with the simplistic-but-chaotic game. “Noctis,” Luna asked, “would you like to take a walk with me around the Canterlot park? Noticing some of my muscles have either stiffened up a bit, or fallen asleep, walking sounded really nice. "Sure Luna,” I said happily, “it sounds like fun, and it sounds nice and relaxing. It’s also a perfect night to do this, with the moon and its gleaming beauty." Luna said, giggling, "Noctis, You're such a flatterer!"
We walk around Canterlot to get to the park where I start taking it easier and “letting loose”, getting more comfortable with Luna. Out of curiosity, I asked, Hey Luna, Why did you ask me to go to the Gala with you? There are surely many other stallions more worthy than I that you could get to go with you?" Luna hesitated, "I could possibly get any stallion upon request, and you are probably right Noctis. But, there’s something about you Noctis, you're different. You're interesting to me.” This sparked many more questions in my head, "Why am I so interesting to you Luna? Is it because I am a human? Is it the mere fact that I am a different creature than you?"
In a concerned voice Luna says, “No, no, no Noctis! You have an astonishing personality, and you love the night as much as I! Most ponies sleep during the night, which depresses me. When my sister has her sun raised, all the ponies are out smiling, and having a good day, but when I raise my moon, most just go to their homes and sleep, whilst I remain virtually alone in the night. But you Noctis, you are different in that way. Your appearance doesn't matter to me, Noctis. Your heart does." I space out for a few seconds, taking in what Luna just said to me, about myself. I feel this huge warmth in my chest, to know that she likes me as much as I like her. I feel that warmth spread around me, and I wouldn’t be shocked if I’m blushing like crazy right now. I’ve planned to ask Luna to be my special somepony for a while, either right before, or immediately after the Gala. But, I know there is one thing I absolutely need to get off my chest first.
"Luna, thank you for your compliments.” I said smiling, still feeling really warm inside. “It was certainly unexpected. However,” I trailed off. My body immediately ran cold, any speck of warmth had left my body, and “I must make a serious tone for this is an important matter. There is another reason why I chose not to go back to my home world.” I explained, looking deep into Luna’s eyes. “I primarily stayed here for you, Luna. You know you mean the world to me. But, as you know, there was another person, who was my special, someone. She was almost exactly like you. She loved the night, she loved the moon, and she even had an older sister that was often viewed and received better than her. You do remind me a lot of my special someone Luna. But in a good way.” I said reassuringly, as Luna had looked upset when I said that”But don't think that I don't love you for who you are Luna.” I spoke gently, coaxing Luna to smile, “I love you for you, not just because you remind me of my special someone, as you are the main reason that I decided not to go back to my old world. But the other reason I didn't go back is because,” I choked a little on this statement, “my land is essentially dead. remember those weapons I talked about? The Atomic Bombs? Those were launched in every corner of our world, scorching everything. Honestly, how I ended up here is still a mystery to me." I said, looking out a Window in Luna’s room, staring at her moon.
Luna looked appalled at my statement “Wow Noctis... That is horrible... Your world, left in ruins. I'm truly sorry you have lost your loved ones. I hope you can still have room in your heart for me." Luna starts to tear up due to the emotional story I told her. Not wanting to see Luna cry, I comfort her, and hug her to calm her down and show that I care for her. I don't quite know what to do right now. I want to embrace my love for Princess Luna, but in the situation we are in, I am worried at how she might react. After much internal conflict, I figure it would be best to not embrace her just yet. Maybe it’d be better to be in her room for that. Maybe things could go better that way. Besides, it’s a pretty deep moment here. I decided it would be best to talk more about my world.
"You know Luna,” I said, “My race wasn't all that bad. We're just not consistent with what we do. While we created many evil tools only meant to harm one another, but in turn we also created tools to save one another...but out of everything we’ve ever done, I will always believe our greatest endeavor was out there.” I said, looking outside and pointing to the beautiful night sky. “We actually built this machine called a rocket. On my old world, we had a moon, much like this world’s. So, we went to it, to understand it and what it was like. And of the men who went there, the first one to have stepped on the moon, his first words were ‘one small step for man...one giant leap for mankind’. That was only the beginning, though. in the coming decades, we had advanced even further, and built a floating station for us to live in long periods of time, sort of an artificial moon in orbit around my planet. It was truly inspiring. It had led to many incredible things, just from one measly idea."
"Noctis, your world is truly a huge, mixed-up bag.” Luna said, astonished. “They seemed like they were capable of such greatness, but yet they decided to wipe themselves out, as greed grew in their hearts. It honestly reminds me a lot of when I turned into Nightmare Moon. I wanted to wipe my own sister from existence, and rule over everything single-handedly due to the greed that grew in my heart, and swallowed it."
“Luna,” I said, “I didn't mean to remind you of Nightmare Moon. I know it is a very emotional subject for you." "Don't worry about it Noctis. It’s quite alright" Luna smiles at me, and I look deeply into her eyes and she stares back. Not being able to resist myself any longer, I decide to go in, and kiss the being I love, Princess Luna. As soon as I kiss her, her eyes widen and open up, cause I know she can also feel the spark that connects her and me. The spark of true love. Dumbfounded, Luna said, "A-Noctis, I had no idea you were going to do that... But it felt so great!“ She said ecstaticated. “I love you Noctis!” She said to me, “I don't love you as a princess loves her subjects rather I love you as a Mare loves a Stallion."She said, smiling. “Oh Luna!” I had to say to her, “I don't love you in the way a subject adores his Princess, I love you like a Mare loves a Stallion, as well!” Feeling that lump build in my throat from being too nervous, I had to ask. “Luna, would you please be my special somepony? I know you haven't known me for long, but I have really enjoyed my time with you, and everything about you is just so perfect!" "Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! A million times YES!!! " Luna Exclaimed. Luna and I share another deep kiss. This time, with more passion than before.
After a while of just relaxing together on the soft grass in the park, looking at the moon and constellations together, Luna and I decide to go walk around Canterlot some more and look for a good place to have fun. A gym comes to mind, as I enjoyed exercise. It was how I relieved stress. "Luna, does Canterlot, or even Equestria have gymnasiums, which one can exercise and improve their strength? " Why of course Noctis!” she said, as if she were expecting me to ask her that question. “Right this way.” When we get to the gym, it’s one of the best gyms I've ever laid my eyes on. It is fully loaded with every single piece of workout equipment known to marekind. Not sure what to do, I use the bench press first. I get Luna to spot me, as she giggles and laughs at me. I get about 20 repetitions in,before my muscles start to weaken, and decide to go onto something else. Next, I go over to the pull-up bar, and do some pull-ups, showing off, feeling like a champ. After about 30 really good pull-ups, my hands lose grip on the bar, then I slip and fall down on my back while Luna laughs at me, causing me to laugh.
"I'm having an amazing time at this gym Luna;” I said, stretching, feeling good to actually be able to use my muscles again. “My world didn't have anything this good for any price.” Smiling, she said, "Noctis, I want to go back to my room. Would you care to come with me?" "Of Course, my special Luna." I happily replied. We exit the gym and begin our walk back to the castle. Once we get back to the castle, we make our ascension to Luna's room. Once we get to our room, I look at Luna. "Noctis, I'd like you to choose what we do next" she says with a smile. Feeling a lot more exhausted than I thought I was going to be leaving the gym, I just wanted sleep. “Luna, would you like to snuggle with me?" I asked. "I'd love to Noctis. That sounds really nice" She says with a cute smile, that causes me to instinctively smile. We begin to proceed to her bed, and begin snuggling, and just start talking about what's on our mind.
"Hey Luna,” I said, staring at the moon, lost in deep thought, “you know what controlled the Sun and Moon on my planet? Nothing but the laws of chance. and natural occurrence.” I continued, “And yet you Luna, you have the power to raise and lower the moon at will. Coming from my world, you are a literal goddess.  
Sure, my world had kings, queens, and princesses. But they held no more ‘power’ than the people they controlled; they had money, land and influence. But that was it. No actual control over anything. Any typical human with you or your sister’s powers would have created a tyrannical regime Millennia ago.” Not wanting to make Luna feel upset, I said, “Please don't feel bad about your time as Nightmare Moon.” I cooed her, “There have been times in my species past, that make your time as Nightmare Moon look like a paradise.
You are truly wonderful Luna. Don't forget that.” I said. And as I was thinking, I realized… I am the first and probably last member of my race. I didn't know how to deal with that… Nor did I know how to say it… Luna starts to blush and she decides to kiss me after what I said. It seems like I’m helping her cope with her regrets of the mistakes she made as Nightmare Moon. She comforts me as well, about being the last human, possibly in existence.
