A Fake Face

Find the Light

Wet, that's the feeling i'm currently, well feeling. But why am I feeling it? It's wet, like puddle wet. Did my mother spill water at my face right now, to which is rude considering I am sleeping right now. Though it is weird, if some water did get spilled at my face, why do I feel like i'm in some sort of puddle

But, it's better to know than to question, so I slowly open my eyes, trying to know why i'm feeling wet. But again, It's harder to open my eyes, because the water is actually running towards my face, and then I realize, I must be in some sort of river

I quickly open my eyes and stand on all four of my legs in surprise

“What was I doing here?” I question,

To my surprise Strange, I couldn't remember why i'm standing in a river, well It's not really a river, more like a stream, and it's really shallow, by that I mean it's just water running above the ground, which explained why I can breathe when I was asleep

I look around, trying to know exactly where I am. But this place is strange, all around me is just water as far as the eyes could see, nothing more, no trees, no pony, no nothing, just water

And with that 'immense' knowledge, I decide to move forward trying to find a clue of where I am, but the more I move forward, the deeper the water gets, and I keep moving forward to the point of where the water already reach up my torso basically, but again no sign of where I am, just more water

i'm getting desperate in this place, and the more I move the more desperate I get, what is this place? How did I get here?

I decide to stop moving and think of why i'm here in the first place, I hope that if I find the answer to that, I would have an idea on how to get out of here and so I did

“Hmmmmm...., well I remember i'm having a race, and then I teleported, I talked with my father, and the I..i..blacked.. out?” I ask to myself

“Oh yeah, I blacked out, so this is a dream, yeah that would make sense” I happily say after figuring it out

“This is a dream, and all I have to do is wake up, easy. How do you do it though?” I wonder

I try closing my eyes and opening it, It doesn't work

I try biting my own hooves, it doesn't work

Huh, how about electrocution, I could channel small waves of electricity to shock myself, and I should wake up, theoraticaly anyway, and guess what, It doesn't work

I sigh in frustration after that, and the fact that that shock was quite painful make it even more disappointing.

“AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!” I let out a scream

That frustration is cut short though, as I notice a figure in the distance, a black figure.

I'm relieved at the sight of another pony, I let out a relieved sigh and a smile as I see it, it feel so good knowing you're not alone, even though it's a dream

“HEY! WHO ARE YOU?” I Shout as loud as I can, trying to make the pony in the distance hear me, but he's not responding

“DO YOU KNOW WHERE I AM?” I shout again

Wondering why the figure doesn't even try to respond to me, I try moving to wards him, though it's strange, the water aren't getting deeper anymore

I keep moving forward, trying to reach the figure, though it doesn't seem that i'm getting anywhere, the figure isn't getting closer and it's really hard to move with water reaching up your torso

I eventually come to a stop, I give up trying to make contact with that pony, and then I let out a sigh

“Find the Light!” A voice suddenly come from behind me

As soon as I hear that, I quickly turn to see who is saying that. It is a black pony and he or it is quite a distance from me, but I manish to make out details of this pony, it is black, like literally black, no eyes, mouth, just black, but the body is definitely a pony

“What do you mean by that?” I ask

“Find the light!” The voice air again, though this time it's behind me, so I turn again to see that it is the black pony I was pursuing, but it was closer to me now, and it has the same details as the other one, and it is getting closer to me

I look back at the other pony and it is doing the same, it is getting closer and closer to me by the second, and both of them repeating the same word over and over again. But the same voice air again, though this time it is on my right, and then on my left, and two black ponies appear and they're inching closer to me by the second

As they get closer and closer to me, their words become more frequent, and a sudden pressure suddenly force right through me, I cringe at the pressure as it cause me pain, a constant, beating pain. Even with all the pain, I still manish to see that all four of the ponies are still getting closer to me, while still saying those words

A sudden surge of pain suddenly hit me, and it grow stronger and stronger as they get closer

“STOP” I scream

But it didn't stop, in fact it grow even stronger

"STOP! PLEASE JUST STOP" I scream again

After I say that, suddenly the water around me turn black, as if corrupted by my scream, but the water around those ponies also becoming black

And suddenly the water around me is getting deeper, or maybe it's sucking me in, I can't tell, the pain is still rushing trough me, I can't concentrate

But then I feel like i'm falling, but the area around me is just black, and the pain suddenly stops. I feel like i'm falling but at the same time I also feel like i'm floating, no, drowning, in an endless sea of blackness, I can't tell if i'm falling or drowning, but now,  it doesn't really matter, I need to get out of here, but how, HOW!?

…

There is only silence now, nothing more, I can't see anything, feel anything, I can feel nothing, just nothing

…

I feel like giving up, I want to close my eyes, I want this to end, why am feeling this, this nothingness, why?

…

Hm? Light? Is that? Light?... That's light and I can also hear voices, a familiar one at that

I try moving towards the light and the voice, I move as if i'm swimming right now, but that's the only way I can really move, and so I keep moving towards the light, reaching one of my hoof to it

Closer, closer, closer.....

I open my eyes... i'm in a bed, my bed in my room, in my house. I let out a relieved sigh, i'm just happy since that nightmare is over.

I look around my room a bit, and everything seems normal, nothing seems to change, and as for me, I feel normal, to which i'm actually happy and disappointed at the same time, I just wish that that dream would change something to the better, but at least i'm out of it

I don't feel getting up from bed this time, even though I was sleeping, I actually feel tired, why?

But, i'm not a very bed hogging pony, so get out of bed, and check what time it is, and it is 10:30 AM, that's a lot of sleep

But anyway, I step outside my room and check the kitchen to find my mother

“Mother?” I call

“Oh it's you Tetrax, you're awake finally, I was getting worried about you” My mother say with a worried tone while checking out my body

“Finally? How long was I out?” I ask

“5 days” my mother asnwer

“Wait.....WHAT!? How can I be asleep for so long?” I ask with an angry tone, though i'm just angry of why i'm asleep for so long, that means I can't say goodbye to my father before he left

“I don't know dear, you must be exhausted from that teleporting, though that shouldn't cause you to be unconscious for 5 days, but who knows, oh yes, your father leave a message before he left, he said to keep remembering what he said at the picnic” My mother explain and telling me the message that my father left for me

I let out a sigh from that, and just accept it as it is

“I'll be reading if you need me mother?” I say to her before going downstairs to the 'library', and everything is normal.

2 weeks later

I'm reading a chapter of a book about temporary wings, it is said to give wings to anypony except a pegasus for a week or when the caster call it out, interesting, though channeling needs extreme focus, and loads of magical energy, huh, that means I can't just cat it whenever I want is suppose unless you're some kind of Alicorn or some really strong unicorn

I keep reading the book after that, and my mother is currently in the kitchen right now, i'm quite engrossed by this book, even though I probably only can cast a few of these, but who know when you might need it I suppose

And so reading ensue

Until I am interrupted by knocks on the door, it's loud since I can hear it from my basement

“Tetrax i'm quite busy here, could you open the door for me” My mother ask

“Sure thing” I reply

I climb up the staircase, to the main portion of the house which leads to the main door, I walk towards it and the I open the door with my magic

But, the sight i'm seeing is not something I ever want to see

It is two army members, and they're carrying a helmet and a spear, I simply stand in silence at the sight, shocked by what i'm seeing, I feel like crying, but I can't, nothing comes out

A few moments passed in silence until I finally take the helmet and spear with my magic, wrapping it in a black aura, while I just stare at the items, the guard just stare at me in worry, he open his mouth, probably trying to say something, but nothing comes out, instead he just turn around and leave

I close the door after that happen and just wondering about how am I going to tell her this, how am I going to tell her, that my father has...has....ugh, died

“Tetrax, who was that?” My mother suddenly ask me

I turn around to show her the items I was holding with my magic, my mother smile then suddenly fades away, and then she is going closer to me, trying to see the items better, and the after a moment pass, she suddenly collapse to the floor and bursting into tears

I quickly put away the helmet and the spear, and sit down, and just embrace my mother, trying to give her a support that she really needs right now

As I am embracing my mother, I thought to myself why I am not crying, instead I just feel empty inside, like nothing is in me

And then I just simply close my eyes and just the only thing i'm feeling right now, I my mother holding me and her crying

Why do you leave now Father?

Why? Why do you pass me your light?

Why?......
