Set in the Aftermath of Equestria Girls, though centred on that world's Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle.

Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle have always been close friends, although recently things have been strained. They need to sit down and talk.

When Twilight suggests going for a trip to the Canterlot's Golden Oak Library and Museum, Sunset jumps at the chance to get out of Everfree City and have a day with Twilight all to herself. It'll clear out all this weird awkwardness and they can start acting like friends again. She'll be able to be herself, and relax. It's not like they know anyone in town.

However it quickly becomes apparent that a lot of people think they know them. Their relaxing day trip becomes more and more complicated, and something tells them that it has only just started.

The name of this fic was changed from Sparks and Shimmer go to Pennyville, because after listening to Equestria girls again I heard the town referred to as Canterlot and not just the school.
