Chapters A Simple Repair

I was working in my shop one day repairing a set of Aura wings. It's a lot of hard work and stress on my mind. Since a lot of people do their own repairs on their set of wings I normally just sell the parts. But every now and a blue moon get to repair a severely damaged set. "A quiet day as usual maybe I should close up shop early." I said to myself with a sigh. I looked at the set I was working on. "The amplifiers work and the joints seem to work just fine time for a test flight." I said smiling I put the wings on walking outside my shop. The wings outstretched with a quick motion I jumped into the air and began to hover off the ground "Seems to be working." I said as I floated back to the ground. "Now for the stress test." I said walking to the edge of the cliff outside my shop.
"How many times have I stood here without my wings wanting to jump?" I asked myself with a sigh. "Oh well I couldn't do it even if I wanted to." I smiled happily jumping off the cliff I felt the wind and the feeling of falling. I could have opened up the wings at any time but I liked the feeling I opened my eyes seeing the ground fast approaching. "Oh well time to fly." Smiling the wings opened as I re-positioned myself to slow my decent the wings strained and groaned under the heavy stress. "Keep holding just keep holding." I whispered as I suddenly rocketed up into the sky corkscrewing. "Now for some speed." I said pulling my oxygen mask and goggles on it looked like a gas-mask. Feeling the wind cease I hovered at the peak of assent I took off forward going as fast as I could manage I felt the world slow as I continued forward.
Something caught my eye someone running the maneuvering course I had set up in the canyon I dove down into the canyon doing the course as I went when I caught my first glimpse of the intruder I only saw hair of prismatic color I quickly caught up to them. "HEY!" I yelled to the intruder they suddenly pulled out of the course with a sonic boom. "Oh hell no you aren't getting away from me." I stated rocketing after them there was a second large sonic boom from me as I caught up. "HEY LAND!" I ordered. The figure turned around flying backwards she flicked me off as she pulled away. I felt my rage boil. "You want a race I will give you a race." I growled Launching ahead of them doing a corkscrew as I passed. I rocketed down back into the course. I saw the figure follow so I decided to take the stress course which had hair pin turns and caves to fly through.
The first section of the course leads up to the hardest part of the course boulders so close together you had to fly through them sideways the entire way. I made it through with ease but I saw something that made me turn around. I saw them clip a boulder and crash. "Dammit." I cursed flying to the sight of the intruder's crash. "Please don't be dead." I said now concerned as I saw the figure in a heap one of the wings was ripped off the other was damaged beyond repair I sighed. "Hey you ok." I said taking off my mask the intruder stired but didn't stand. I walked up to them I picked them up and slowly flew up the cliff face back to my shop.
I landed infront of my shop walking inside I took off their wings setting them aside for repairs the intruder groaned as they sat up. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken you to that test track not many can handle the second section at a slow speed." I stated looking back to see them taking off their coat and mask I saw it was a woman and damn she was beautiful.
"I shouldn't have trespassed then challenged you." The prismatic haired woman said calmly. "But I still would have won if the rock was out just a little more." She stated cockily I rolled my eyes. "Can I get my wings back?" She asked I only pointed at the hunk of what would now be scrap metal. "What did you do to my wings?" She asked anger in her voice. Now I was mad.
"This is what happens when you bite off more than you can chew." I said through gritted teeth. "If you were going faster than you were... Let's just say be happy the wings broke and not you." I said taking the wings I had on off setting them next to a set pure black wings. "I can fix them though." I stated walking over to the wings picking them up. "What do you do to these wings they are torn to shit even before the race. I'm surprised they didn't just shatter under the strain or your arrogant flying." I said as I felt a hand strike me across the face. I was stunned looking up at the girl who had a tear in her eye.
"Those wing's were my mothers show them some respect." She said trying to hold back her tears I couldn't be angry at her.
"I understand I'm sorry." I said as I pulled out a spare wing frame and began to work. "Give me a few hours and I will have them fully repaired." I looked over the work ahead of me I sighed. "Since the other wing is gone. Along with the fact almost every bolt is broken or cracked I will have to do a full overhaul of the wings." I sighed. "It would be easier if I just scrap these and start a new set but I will fix what I can on these." I smiled as I began to work.
"What is your name?" The woman asked me. Her question caught me off guard most people just say. 'fix these by Monday.' toss down money and walk out no one asked for my name.
"Frostwing." I said calmly as I began to take off what was left of the missing wing. "What about you Miss?" I asked taking out bolts and screws judging what needed to be replaced. I eventually decided to scrap all of the bolts and screws.
"I'm Rainbow Dash fastest flier in Equestria." She said with such pride but her maneuverability could use some work.
"Speed isn't everything Miss Dash." I stated blankly screwing in a new Aura amplifier. "Your maneuvering could use a lot of work." I looked up to see her annoyed with me. "I'm just speaking the truth Miss Dash." I continued to work I turned around and pulled out two welding masks. I tossed the second to Rainbow Dash. "Either wear that or cover your eyes." I put my mask on and began to work welding the new wing into place. "Why were you using my course anyway?" I asked Rainbow she only scoffed.
"I was practicing to become a Wonderbolt." She said as if it was the most well know fact. "Why do you even care?" She asked cold heartily.
"Miss Dash remember I am repairing your wings for free don't make me charge you for this work." I stated coldly.
"I bet it's not even that expensive." She said in a challenging tone. I turned the torch off.
"Let's see full wing replacement, 2 Aura Amplifiers Rainbow color which is rare, full joint overhaul, and the replacement of every screw and bolt." I began watching her reaction it was tough at first but then it began to crack. "The price of all of this is around 145,000 bits just for the parts alone." I said nonchalantly I saw her fall over the price gets them every time. "Hey I didn't even tell you what it would be if I included Labor." I saw her body twitch I laughed at her reaction.
A few Hours Later
Rainbow was sitting in the waiting area I came out with 2 sets of wings one set was pitch black the other was cyan in color. "I brought your wings back from the dead now let us begin the test flight they should be able to handle a lot more strain without failing." I stated putting my wings on along with my mask. I walked out the door waiting for Rainbow. When she came out I swear she looked like an angel I blushed under my mask. "Shall we begin?" I asked and she nodded. "Then lets fly." I said taking off into the sky leaving a black streak across the sky.
Part 2: A Little Challenge

It has been a few days since I repaired Rainbow Dash's wings and work has been very slow. "I guess not many people put their wings through their paces Like me and Rainbow." I said with a sigh. "Maybe I will go for a flight just to do something today." I grabbed my wings and flipped the sign out front. 'Testing Aura Flight gear Be back later.' The sign read even though it really meant. 'don't wanna work right now come back later.' I put on my Wings and the rest of my gear I looked completely black except for the tips of my wings. I saw a rainbow streak flying through the sky I instinctively smiled. "Lets see what she is up to." I said to myself as I took off as fast as I could go.
Rainbow must have caught sight of me she slowed down and stopped at a hover. "Hey Frost how you doing?" She asked smiling I slowed next to her hovering as well. "How about a race?" She asked challenging me I only smiled at her enthusiasm.
"I'm doing ok and how about a better challenge." I said smiling cockily. "Who can fly the highest?" I asked smiling as I circled her.
"I can fly higher than you Frost I am the best." she said cockily I only smiled.
"OK then lets make a bet." I looked at her thinking what I wanted if I won then it came to mind.
"Fine if I win you have to repair my wings for free from now on." She said. She thought she could beat me at an altitude climb poor girl.
"If I win you have to go out on a date with me." I said smiling she blushed then resolved herself.
"Never gonna happen Frost." She said with a steely glare.
"Is the Great Rainbow Dash backing out?" I asked mocking her she shot me a glare that could have killed a Manticorn I shrugged.
"I never back out let's get this over with so I can win." She said floating past me as she descended. I followed with a smile.
We stood at the bottom of the canyon looking straight up She dawned her oxygen mask and coat as did I. "Now remember the cord on your left is for breaking the ice on your wings use it on your decent otherwise you will not be able to land in time." I said to her she looked like she had never done an altitude climb before. "You ready?" I asked her as she was already prepared to take off. "Then lets go." I said as I took off into the air climbing straight up I saw Rainbow pass me flying as high as her wings could take her.
"What's wrong Frost afraid you're gonna lose?" She asked mocking me. I increased my speed knowing I could climb higher than anyone else it was my job. I rocketed past her continuing my climb. We passed clouds left and right I shot through a few of them I saw Rainbow slowing down I looked back to see ice forming on her wings then she pulled the cord.
"You damn fool." I whispered as she continued past me I took off after her the ice began to form again on her wings. "RAINBOW DROP BACK YOUR WING'S AREN'T DESIGNED FOR THIS HEIGHT!" I yelled to her but she continued to climb until her wings locked up and she began to slow she then started the long fall back to earth I passed her then flew after her. "Dammit." I cursed flying after her she was falling to fast. I collapsed my wings and dove for her I slowly caught up to her I outstretched my hand. "GRAB MY HAND!" I yelled she reached grabbing my hand I pulled her close and outstretched my wings. I heard them groan at the strain of slowing down from terminal velocity. I felt something break and rip off it was my wing's both had failed and tore off. I pulled a cord on my harness and a second set of wings folded out slowing our decent once again but they were about to give I could feel it.
"FROST!" Was all I heard before I shifted my weight and slammed into the ground still holding onto Rainbow Dash. I hit the ground going so fast I didn't have time to even realize if I was going to survive the hit.
One Week Later Ponyville General Hospital
I awoke slowly to the sound of beeping and someone talking I tried to sit up but couldn't move my arms they were in slings and wrapped up completely. "Where am I?" I asked looking around I saw Rainbow and a few other people I tried to sit up but my entire chest was in a cast.
"You're in the hospital Frost you took the fall pretty hard." Rainbow said she smiled knowing I was awake now. "I shouldn't have broke the ice and continued my accent." I heard her trying to choke back tears but I only smiled to her.
"I shouldn't have challenged you to something I knew I was going to win at." I stated she glared at me. "Now now. My wing's are made of a special Aluminum Titanium carbonate Ice won't form on the wings I could have flown higher than what I did but I was not gonna just let you fall to your death." I said looking in the corner of the room seeing what was left of my gear.
"You knew you were gonna win yet you still challenged me?" She asked confused. I smirked.
"I really wanted that date." I said smiling but I felt a hand strike my face.
"The deal is off I would never go on a date with someone so foolish as to risk life for a simple date." She said walking out of the room her friends followed. I only sighed as I watched her fly off away from the hospital.
"Good going Frost could you have been any more stupid?" I asked myself angrily I tried to stand but I wasn't going to be leaving any time soon. "And I thought I could have gotten a date with her." I stated leaning back looking at my broken wings. "Guess I am gonna have to walk home after what I did." I said to myself calmly.
"You know you could have just tried asking her out." A female voice said walking back into the room. "Didn't have to pull that stupid stunt that you did. What if Rainbow got hurt?" She asked. The girl was tall had black hair with a single stripe on the left side all throughout the length that was lavender in color.
"I didn't want her to get hurt or even want to put her in danger. I thought she would heed my warning and give up when her wings began to freeze up." I said looking down. "I didn't want her to be put in danger like that." I sighed. "But it doesn't matter now no matter what I say to her she will just ignore me or try and beat me up." I stated blankly. "Just like they did." I whispered.
"I still can't believe you would do something so stupid Major Frostwing of the 9th Battalion of Halo Fliers." She stated which made my blood run cold then my anger rose.
"How the hell do you know that?" I asked glaring at her my red eyes had pure hatred behind them.
"All the books you wrote on high altitude flight the construction of new Aura Flight Gear along with air stream analysis' and theories on high altitude flight." She glared right back at me. "Quite the resume Major along with the accident 5 years ago." She began. I pulled my arm out of the sling and slammed it down on the table next to me I heard a sickening snap and blood began to stain my bandages.
"That was all classified only a select few and the Princess's know of that mission." I began never taking my eyes off of the girl. "Who the hell are you?" I asked coldly venom filled my words.
"I am Twilight Sparkle Princess Celestia's Personal student I think you should remember me from your court marshal hearing." She said with the same amount of anger. I thought back on that day and felt my heart sink.
"It wasn't even my fault." I said looking away sorrow filled my eyes thinking back on the charges. "I did no modifications on the wings they shouldn't have just fallen apart mid flight. But no one listened there was blueprints in my room for a new wing design that I didn't create but because of my background you all pointed the finger at the wrong man." I felt my anger rise again but I kept it in check. "I didn't modify the wings their deaths were not my fault." I said calmly.
"You were their commanding officer did you not like your team maybe they were to cocky for their own good maybe you killed them to be r-" A vase flew past Twilight slamming into the wall next to her head.
"Get out... GET THE BUCK OUT NOW!" I bellowed you can only push me so far before I snap Twilight was terrified of me now. "DID YOU NOT HEAR ME!? GET OUT!" I questioned her as she quickly left the room to her friends waiting outside. I calmed down eventually. Even though she said what she said I felt like an ass I would go and apologize to her as soon as I got out to Twilight and to Rainbow Dash.

I was released form the hospital a week later I still couldn't fly or work effectively. That wasn't what bothered me I needed to apologize to Twilight and Rainbow for my behavior on that day. "First Twilight I did throw a vase at her." I said to myself with a sigh.
As I walked up to the Library I stopped in front of the door I hit the doorbell and waited. I saw a boy with green hair and a tail open the door. "A dragoon?" I asked myself confused.
"Can I help you sir?" The boy asked with a smile.
"Yea I need to speak with Miss Sparkle can you get her for me?" I asked and he nodded showing me inside as he ran off to go get Twilight. As she walked down the stairs she saw me and glared at me. I raised my hands defensively. "I'm not here to fight I'm here to surrender and apologize for what I said and how I acted." I said calmly her glare softened but didn't leave her.
"I'm listening." She said coldly.
"I know you can't forgive me for what I said or did to you or to Rainbow. I also know you won't no matter what I say." I sighed looking at the ground. "You were right I was a fool for challenging Rainbow to an Altitude climb but on the subject of my past... You were wrong on all accounts you weren't there you don't know who really did the modifications to the wings." I said looking up. "But still my behavior was still unacceptable in any situation so I apologize for my ignorance and I was in the wrong for everthing I did." I said with a bow which hurt everything I looked up to be met with a book across the face which knocked me over.
"I will accept your apology but for putting Rainbow in danger you have to get her forgiveness not mine." She said coldly but then she smiled. "She has been using your canyon tracks for practice all week and has been doing altitude training as well so she could beat you." Twilight helped me up and showed me out. "Go talk to her and keep your guard up she wants to beat you to a pulp." Twilight said closing the door I gulped in fear.
"Whelp if I'm gonna die I wanna be killed by a beautiful woman." I said with a chuckle making my way to my shop.
I arrived at my shop I set down what was left of my gear on my work bench I took out the amplifiers and put them into another set of black wings my spare set. I looked over to see my old military set the wings were cracked and the paint was faded. "Sorry old friend not today maybe again one day." I said setting my hand on the old wings the amplifiers on the wings glowed lightly at the touch. "Time to face the music." I said sighing unhappily.
I walked outside with my wings on even though I couldn't fly how I wanted to I could still fly slowly and hover. I looked into the Canyon seeing a Rainbow blur fly through the course she pulled out in a corkscrew stopping at the lip of the canyon glaring at me. "H-Hey Rainbow... I ju-" My sentence was cut off by a foot slamming into my stomach I lost all my breath in an instant it was followed by a second foot striking my face throwing me back I hit the ground which made my body scream in pain. "Ok I deserved that." I said in my head as I tried to stand. I felt my hand being stomped on I couldn't even yell in pain it hurt so much.
"Frost." Was the only word I heard it was filled with pure hatred and anger.
"R-Rainbow please let me explain." I gasped out as I caught my breath finally. I clutched my wounded hand in pain.
"What makes you think I even want to hear you speak." She spat at me I could feel her glare on me.
"I still have to say what I want to say." I stated looking up at her which made me look away ashamed. "I shouldn't have tricked you into that bet or even did what I did you probably won't forgive me I don't even deserve your forgiveness." I said looking back down at the ground all the pain I put her through this was just a sliver of it. I deserved so much more for what I did.
"Apology not accepted." She said angrily kicking me again in the chest I felt my world darken around me. I looked up to Rainbow just before the darkness took me. I would swear I saw her crying.
I woke up in my workshop my hand was re-bandaged but everything still hurt. "What can I do to make her forgive me." I said out loud I put my hand on my head.
"You could have thought your actions through instead of being an arrogant ass." A voice said I looked back to see Rainbow tinkering with my broken set of wings. I looked back at the ceiling.
"I could have just let you win but I was so stupid I wanted to take you out on a date I didn't mean for it to be taken so far." I said with a sigh. "I didn't want you to get hurt Rainbow Dash." I said through my choked back tears.
"Still does not mean you are forgiven you will have to earn my trust again Frost." Rainbow said finishing up the repairs she did. "I might not be the best A.W.G. mechanic but I fixed what I could." She said calmly setting them down in front of me. "You owe me a race Frost if you win I will forgive you if you lose you will have to earn my trust the hard way." She said calmly outstretching her hand.
"Do I even have a choice." I said leaning over shaking her hand gently she suddenly squeezed which made me contort in pain.
"And no cheating we will be using default wings no modifications and no fancy tricks just a race of speed. Am. I. Clear?" Each word she squeezed harder on my hand I felt my wounds open up.
"C-Crystal." I said barely containing my tears of pain. She let go of my hand smiling.
"Good I will see you in 3 days be ready to lose Frost." She said standing up and leaving. What the hell had I just gotten myself into.
A Simple Repair

I had just finished recovering from my injuries from saving Rainbow all those days ago. "When I look back on that day..." I began looking at my wings that Rainbow had repaired for me. "I shouldn't have done what I had done." I sighed picking up the wings setting them on my work bench. "I guess I will finish the repairs before I start getting ready for our date." I smiled thinking about our date. I nearly welded my wings to the bench I cursed my absent mindedness "What should I wear?" I asked myself looking up I turned off the torch. I'll work on the wings later there was something more important.
I decided to go casual I put on a plain black T-shirt and blue jeans I looked over my black A.W.G.. I put it on hitting a button on the side making the wings fully collapse on themselves. "This should work it's just a dinner date after all." I sighed walking outside. "I guess I will meet her at the Moon Glow." I began the long walk to the restaurant making sure to not look at anyone as they only glared at me as I walked by. "Hate is such a scary thing but ignorance is even more terrifying." I said to myself with a chuckle.
Arriving at the Moon Glow I smiled seeing Rainbow waiting for me she was wearing her. A.W.G. over her clothes like me. I waved to her but she looked away from me in a huff. "Hope I didn't make you wait to long." I said with a nervous chuckle. I was met with a fist into my stomach. I coughed falling over in pain.
"I have been here for 20 minutes Frost you could have hurried up ya jerk." She said in annoyance. I tried to stand but was met with her foot on the back of my head forcing me to bow. "Now say your sorry." She said grinding her heel into the back of my head.
"I-I'm sorry Rainbow." I said as I felt her foot leave my head I went to stand but her foot slammed back down on my head. "Ow..." Was all I could say. Rainbow eventually helped me up without hitting me.
"Now lets get something to eat." She said with a smile. When she smiled I felt all of my pain wash away. I smiled back to her.
After a few drinks and 4 entrees I was finally done eating Rainbow was surprised at how much I ate. "How the hell can you eat so much and still be in shape for flight?" She asked taking a drink of her cider.
"I haven't eaten in 3 days been to busy making a new design." I said taking a sip of some coffee. She slugged me in the arm hard. "I have noticed something about you Rainbow." I pointed out to her in annoyance.
"And what would that be Frost?" She asked taking another drink.
"You really like to hit me." I stated blankly I was annoyed at being beaten all the time but something told me. It was worth all the pain.
"And you like to trick people." Rainbow shot back with an icy stare. I then smiled to her.
"I guess you are right but I always hated doing it never got me anything except trouble." I chuckled at the trouble my trickery had gotten me into. something caught my eye a man looked right at me. My blood ran cold as I noticed who it was. The man walked up to me and Rainbow he wore a military uniform the rank of a colonel. He looked just like me except his eyes were a dark blue this told me exactly who he was.
"Hey Frosty how is being a horrible excuse for a human being." He said to me with a smile. I glared at him. "Oh come on Frosty you know I am not afraid of a bird with clipped wings." He said to me grabbing me by my shirt lifting me up. My glare never left him.
"Flame Nova, it has been too long killed any of your own friends recently?" I asked still glaring at him with my red eyes. He glared right back at me.
"Now now is that anyway to treat your brother." Flame smiled looking at Rainbow. "Sorry you have to deal with this trash." He winked to her which made my blood boil I just wanted to kill him. "Let's go settle this like men Frosty." Flame said throwing me out of the restraunt. I landed on my side shifting my weight I was able to stop and stand.
"I'm not going to fight you Flame not here." I said as I watched him rocket out of the restaurant at full speed I jumped into the air. My A.W.G. opened up and I took off. He caught up to me and was about to hit me when a rainbow blur slammed into him knocking him off course.
"You stupid bitch." Flame said Back handing Rainbow. He grabbed Rainbow by one of her wings throwing her straight towards the ground. I flew as hard as I could to catch her but I felt one of my wings halt. My world was spun around I saw Flame's fist as it contacted my face launching me downwards. Something snapped in me as I landed on the ground I jumped back launching myself under Rainbow I caught her just in time.
"Stay back please. Flame is not afraid to kill those around him stay down here." I begged her but something in my eyes said to get help. She took off towards Twilight's house. I turned to see Flame rocketing towards me I pulled back my fist slamming it downwards onto his head stopping him in his tracks. "I was always stronger Flame I just hated to fight unlike you brother." I said angrily. Flame slowly began to stand just as the cops showed up with Rainbow and her friends.
"Officers arrest that man he attacked me for no reason." Flame said pointing at me. The cops tackled me to the ground locking up my wings and handcuffing me.
"Your under arrest for the assault of a military agent. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be appointed to you." The cop said lifting me up. "Do you understand your rights?" He asked me I nodded slowly.
"Can I say one thing Officer?" I asked him. He nodded to me. I looked back at Flame and spat at him. "I hope you are caught for your crimes Flame I hope you burn for it." I said as the cops took me away.
Part 6: Court of The Innocent

I awaited outside of the royal court room I was shackled to 6 guards in case I tried something. Not that I would be so foolish to do something like that. "Prisoner walk forward ." One of the guards barked as I began the walk into the court room. I saw both princess' and knew I was screwed. "Kneel prisoner." The guard barked again I did as told. The restraints were tightened as I was secured to the floor.
"Ex-Major Frostwing of the 9th Battalion of Halo Fliers you are charged with the assault of one Colonel Flame Nova of the 9th Battalion Halo Fliers." Luna's words were strict and procedural. "How do you plea?" She asked me not a single hint of sorrow.
"Not Guilty." I said calmly I did nothing wrong I was attacked first. Now the hard part to prove my innocence.
"Your evidence?" Celestia asked me watching me carefully.
"I had a witness with me that can prove I was attacked first." I said looking up at her. A guard grabbed my head slamming it down criminals weren't allowed to look directly at the princess.
"Who is this witness because we have an entire restaurant worth of people saying you attacked him first." Luna stated which I expected no one anywhere liked me because of my past.
"A very good friend of your student Princess. One Miss Rainbow Dash was with me the night of the alleged assault." I said with a smile the news shocked the princess'.
"Why were we not informed of this?" Celestia asked Flame Nova.
"He is obviously lying your highness." Flame said with a bow.
"The only one lying is you Flame." I yelled at him venom filling my words. A guards boot slammed on the back of my head. I continued to stare down Flame he was scared of me I could tell.
"Your majesty allow me to take this filth to the firing squad so we can deal with his treason accordingly." Flame said which shocked me but Celestia raised a hand.
"This is a trial Colonel he has to be proven guilty before any punishment could be handed down onto him." She said looking down at me. "Frostwing why do you say Colonel Flame Nova is lying?" She asked me kindly. I was taken aback by this kindness.
"I didn't throw the first punch until he hit Rainbow Dash but that isn't the only thing I am talking about." I wasn't going to let him weasel out of this. "Back to the day of the accident I didn't do anything to the A.W.G.s of my comrades the design that was planted was flawed. I would never endanger my team I would test out the design myself." I shot a look at Flame who was sweating. "And if I did why is it that myself and Flame are still here instead of in the ground?" I asked directing my question at Flame. He stomped his foot.
"Enough silence the prisoner." He ordered My mouth was sealed with magic before I could say another word. Celestia glared at Flame which made him flinch. I was able to speak once again.
"The charges right now are about your alleged assault not that mater remember that Frostwing." Luna said with a scowl. I bowed my head understanding.
"My apologies your Majesty." I looked back to Flame he looked like he was panicking. "I did not attack him until he attacked Rainbow Dash she can vouch for me." I said calmly smiling.
"Guard." Celestia said calmly. "Send Rainbow Dash in." She ordered.
"Yes your majesty." The guard quickly went out. He came back with Rainbow walking next to him. She stood next to me glaring down at me she had a black eye from where Flame hit her My blood boiled when I saw it.
"Rainbow Dash were you attacked by this man." Luna asked motioning towards Flame. Rainbow nodded her head quietly. I saw Flame flinch.
"Tell us what transpired last night Rainbow Dash." Celestia said with a smile. Rainbow looked down at me then back up.
After a few minutes of an intense story by Rainbow Dash Celestia looked down at me then to Flame she shook her head at Flame. "Release the prisoner." Celestia ordered. The guard stood me up and un-cuffed me quietly. They bowed to the princess' then left. I stood there rubbing my wrists calmly.
"Thank you Princess Celestia." I said calmly glaring at Flame. "I do have one request Princess." I took my eyes off of Flame to look at Celestia.
"What right do you have to request anything of us Frostwing?" Luna asked angrily.
"I just want to settle a simple score with my little brother." I said with a gentle smile but it was filled with malice and hatred. Celestia must have picked up on this.
"What did you have in mind Frostwing?" Celestia questioned me I looked at Flame cracking my knuckles. "You want a duel against your brother?" She was puzzled by this hatred between brothers.
"Yes I want to make him suffer for what he did to our friends and family." I felt a hand on my shoulder which made me stop. I looked over to see Rainbow Dash stopping me.
"Granted." Celestia said calmly. "No A.W.G.s will be used in this duel only your skills with a blade and your fists." She smiled. "And the wager?" She said with that same smile.
"How about if I win Flame is stripped of his rank all the way down to private." I smiled feeling my blood boil at the thought of getting back at him.
"If you lose Frostwing you will be imprisoned until you die are the conditions clear?" Luna asked me smiling.
I bowed my head before walking up to Flame I took out one of my work gloves. "No offense brother." I said smacking him across the face with the glove. "But I will not lose to you." I stated before punching him squarely in the face knocking him down to the ground. "Not after what you did." I whispered walking away. Rainbow quickly followed me.
"Are you Stupid Frost he is a trained soldier he will tear you apart." She yelled at me which caught me off guard.
"Rainbow I won't lose for a very simple reason." I stated to her my eyes were Ice cold.
"And what reason would that be?" She placed her hands on her hips looking at me disapprovingly.
"He was always used to speed being his power not fighting someone face to face." I stated calmly. "Also I was military as well instead of practicing on speed I focused on tactics and power." I smiled thinking to all the times I put my brother face first to the ground. "I won't lose not when the wager is so high." I cracked my knuckles walking down the hall. I was finally going to get revenge on my brother for what he had done.
Part 7: General Consequences
A Simple Repair

I was prepared for my fight against my brother the last week was used in strength training and tactics plus mock battles against Rainbow Dash and Twilight who was adept at fencing. I can't remember how many cuts I got on my cheek or chest due to my own ignorance. But I was now prepared to fight and this would be the hardest battle I have ever had to deal with.
I saw Rainbow out of the corner of my eye as I was doing crunches she was staring at me. "Earth to Rainbow." I said. no reaction I stood up walking over to her. "Rainbow...?" I questioned still no reaction. I reached over placing my hand on top of her head gently this seemed to snap her out of her trance she began to blush furiously along with the solid punch into my side making me contort in pain. "Good to see you're back Rainbow." I said holding my side. She stared at me blushing and scowling.
"Why did you put your hand on my head?" She asked angrily I just tried to stand up when she kicked me in the side. "I asked you a question Frost." She pointed out as she kicked me again. She huffed stopping her relentless assault on me. I laid there in a heap trying to breathe I had to fight my brother in a few hours and the way Rainbow was treating me I wouldn't win even if I did have my A.W.G.
"You were zoned out Rainbow I was just trying to snap you out of it." I managed to rasp out. She placed her heel onto the back of my head pushing me down harshly. she kept her heel there for a good minute before moving it away.
I heard her whisper something but I wasn't quite sure what it was. Finally being allowed to stand I stood up looking over at her she was looking out into the distance over the cliff. "Frost... I want you to make me a promise." She said not looking at me she then turned to me. "Don't lose promise me you will not lose against him." She was serious I could tell. "If you win you can have that stupid date." She looked away blushing furiously. I smiled to her walking to her I wrapped her into a gentle hug.
"I will not lose Rainbow if I do then I let my men who lost their lives down what kind of Commander would I be if I let that happen." I smiled to her hoping she would one day forgive me of everything I had done to her. And then that familiar sting of her fist colliding with my stomach. "Hello pain I missed you." I whispered removing my hands from around her. Moving them to wrap my stomach. I felt another fist collide with my chest.
"Idiot..." Was the last thing rainbow said before taking to the skies towards Canterlot to watch the fight when the time came.
I had arrived to Canterlot a half hour before the battle I went straight to the Colosseum knowing that this could be my last day in the sun. Sighing I walked to the challenger's area only one person was there she wore a uniform and had the rank of General she glared at me as I walked over to my blade. I unsheathed it examining it carefully. "A worthless maggot like you coming back from the grave to fight your brother." The general began calmly she walked in front of me my eyes never leaving the blade.
"General Thunderstrike it has been to long since I last saw you how have you been?" I asked but before I could even react The blade that was in my hand was being pressed into my neck harshly.
"You know better than to call me by my rank in private." She moved the blade away placing it back into my hands. She smiled smacking me upside the head.
"Alright my Little older sister." I said smiling to her she gave me a quick hug and a swift punch into my side.
"Still soft I see my bigger younger brother." She laughed at my pain she always laughed at my pain except for that day. She almost lost her rank because of me. Defending a criminal with her rank got her nowhere quick she eventually had to turn on me. I understood why and I didn't hold it against her she had a family to worry about. Me on the other hand lost my family to my own flesh and blood. Also let me clarify General Thunderstrike is not my real sister just a very good friend who earned the title of little older sister for what she did for me plus she is older than me.
"I'm only soft when a woman hits me I'm not like my brother who attacks anything that gets in his way." I stated standing up straight careful not to drop the blade. She looked at the blade in my hands she grabbed it tossing it into the corner. "Sis what the hell I need that to fight and win." She smacked me upside the head.
"Don't back talk me Frost that blade is junk you need a real blade." She pulled the second sword off her belt and handed it to me. "She has missed you Frost calls for you every night." She smiled to me as I unsheathed the blade it was pure black except the center which was a white.
"How did you get Serena she was to be melted down after my discharge." I was stunned by this new development.
"Don't ask stupid questions and take her back into battle I'm guessing you still know how to use her?" She asked in a challenging tone. I drew Serena slashing threw the air quickly an arc of light appeared where I had slashed.
"My Rapier can carve light itself in my hands." I said sheathing my blade now I had everything to win. "Sorry Flame I don't lose to the ignorant." I smiled devilishly.
"I guess the twin demons are going to fight to kill the other." She smiled happily at the thought of Frost returning to how he used to be back in those days.

I walked out into the Colosseum holding Serena in my hands waiting for my brother to enter. The second he entered there was a roar of applause from the crowd all of them screaming for him to kill me. Flame has no idea what he was facing against now. "Guess I get to destroy him in public." A devilish smile morphed onto my face. "Perfect." I whispered never taking my eyes off of Flame he was wearing his uniform. We walked to the center of the Colosseum I saw Flame upgraded from his broad sword into a claymore still won't protect him from the pain he will receive.
"Hey frosty I still see you can't handle a real blade." He said hefting the heavy claymore onto his shoulders I only stood there glaring at him. "I'm going to enjoy watching you die." He whispered to me. as he backed up slowly.
"Fighters are you ready?" The announcer asked. "First blood wins. Begin." Flame charged me to slow I slashed quickly moving my still moving blade to intercept his blade and deflect it. Flame stood there staring me down. A cut appeared across his cheeks and nose blood poured out of the wound. "And that's it Frost wins." The announcer said but Flame lifted his blade swinging down on me yet again I deflected it again and again his assault was relentless. "I said the battle was over." The announcer yelled but our fight continued.
"Flame you lost give up before I have to put you down." I said calmly staying on the defensive. He swung with his fist but was met with my blade across his knuckles. He cursed as he swung again. I was beginning to become annoyed with this ignorance. He continued his assault until I went on the offensive carving into his flesh slightly with every strike he was backed up into a wall I had my blade pressed against his chest were it would barely break the skin.
"ENOUGH!" A voice bellowed from the stands I looked back to see where it had come from when I felt an ice cold pain in my side I looked back to see Flame holding a knife it was stuck in my side my mind iced over I grabbed his throat tightly. "FROSTWING DISENGAGE!" I released Flame's throat walking away from him I saw that it was Celestia who had yelled I knelt infront of her. "You are the victor as promised you are free to go and your brother will be stripped of all his rank." Celestia began as she turned around.
A bloodthirsty howl erupted from where Flame was he was charging Celestia holding his claymore at the ready. I pulled the dagger in my side out throwing it hard. It hit home right into Flames shoulder he dropped his blade but continued to run. I stood up blade at the ready when he was close enough I made a single slash straight down Flames chest making him collapse on the ground. "Flame for your crime I pass my judgement." I lifted my blade making two deep cuts onto his shoulder blades cutting the muscles under the skin. "I steal your power of flight." I sheathed Serena calmly before walking over to the princess.
"Ever thought about coming back Major?" Celestia asked with a gentle smile I only shook my head.
"I have someone that I want to protect and I can't if I am in the military." I shrugged smiling. "But a military contract for my research could be worked out the designs are old and need a good upgrade." I outstretched my hand. "I'm sure we could work out the budget." Celestia extended her hand shaking it happily. "Now if you excuse me Princess." I turned around beginning my walk back to my area my vision swirled as I walked I fell to the ground everything burned but the wound felt the worse. That fool poisoned me to bad for him he would suffer the same fate. My world darkened as I saw medical personnel run out onto the field.
I awoke after what felt like an eternity I looked around seeing a large group of people in my room all asleep except General Thunderstrike I slowly stood up she noticed motioning for me to follow her. I did what was asked of me. "What's up sis?" I asked following her she turned around smacking me upside the head my world spun from the impact.
"Damn fool making that girl worry about you like that and no Major under my leadership should get stabbed so easily." She yelled at me I was trying to regain my senses from the smack. "But anyway I am glad to see you won over that idiot brother of yours even protected the princess in your state of being stabbed and poisoned." She chuckled happily. "Good to see the Frozen demon fight once again." I sighed at hearing that title.
"No sis that was me fighting I didn't let the demon out if I did that first attack would have taken Flame's head not just cut him." I said looking down at my hands I had tore my hands open at the grip I was putting on the handle. "It took every ounce of control to not kill him with every strike." I turned away to look out of a window in the hospital.
"So about that Rainbow girl she was crying all the way until she fell asleep what do you think that's all about?" Thunderstrike asked elbowing me lightly. I only sighed smiling.
"I get a date with her but I don't want a date from this battle I wanna date from me asking her out." I sighed thinking about how I was going to go about it.
"Maybe I should go wake her up so you can ask her." She smiled like a devious fox. I only smiled.
"She is already awake and is listening to our conversation." I said walking over to the door I heard her scurry back to her seat I only chuckled lightly. "Rainbow I want you to meet a very important person in my life right now can you come outside?" I asked there was no answer but I heard her walk over to the door.
"Was it the girl from before I'm gonna guess she is your girlfriend or something." She said looking down at the ground. Thunderstrike began to laugh as if she was in a craze she was holding her stomach in pain.
"Me date this Maggot not in a million years." She said through her tears of laughter. I pouted.
"Thanks Sis I can see you love and respect me." I said with a sigh I felt a fist slam into my stomach making me fall flat on my face.
"What was that Frost?" She asked angrily.
"I said my sis is the best person in the world worth my love and respect." I said through my pain. She placed her boot on my head.
"Now say your sorry."
"My deepest of apologies Sister I will never do it again." I whimpered out I felt her boot remove itself from my head.
"I always wondered why he never got angry when I hit him." Rainbow said smiling and trying not to laugh at me.
"This one is a wimp against women won't raise a hand to them unlike his brother." Thunderstrike looked out the window at the moon.
"Anyway." I said standing up. "Rainbow Dash I would like to introduce my little older sister General Thunderstrike." I smiled.
"Little older sister?" Rainbow asked confused.
"She is not my blood sister but we have enough respect for each other that we are family to each other she is older than me but smaller than me hence. "Little older sister." If you ever need help she is the one to go to." I said with a smile. But felt a smack upside my head.
"Anyway I have to go home to see my boyfriend he is probably worried about me." She said walking away. "Oh and Frost. If you hurt that girl's feelings I will kill you understand?" She asked with a smile I shuddered as I quickly saluted her she turned around walking out of the hospital.
"She can be so mean sometimes." I stated sighing in pain. I heard Rainbow giggle. "Anyway we should get back to bed." I said walking back towards my room I felt Rainbow grab my shirt making me stop.
"I thought you were going to die when I saw you collapse." She was shaking I turned around pulling her gently into a hug. "The doctors said you might not make it." She was crying into my shoulder. I moved my hand along her prismatic hair smiling gently. She continued to cry in my arms until she stopped I picked her up gently walking into my room I placed her on the hospital bed pulling the covers over her I reconnected all the IVs to myself and sat down in the chair next to the bed my hand holding onto hers. I smiled as I drifted off to sleep.
The next few days was me staying in the hospital until I was cleared to leave and was poison free. I still felt sore but it was good to be able to leave the hospital I was surprised to see Rainbow Dash waiting for me outside the hospital. I smiled walking up to her.
"Shall we get this stupid date underway?" She asked me trying to hide her blush I only sighed.
"You know I never agreed to that date so I have to ask you on a date first." I smiled to her. "Unless you are asking me out first?" I said teasing her. She blushed even more until I felt her fist come down on my head.
"Stupid idiot." She turned around in a huff. I walked up to her hugging her with a smile.
"Rainbow Dash would you give me the honor of taking you out on a date?" I asked as a whisper. I felt her place her hand on my arm gently. I smiled.
"I think I would like that Frost." She said I could hear the happiness in her voice I felt her grip tighten on my arm until it was pulled from around her she yanked my arm upward making me fall to my knees. "After you apologize to me for making me worry about you so much." She said pushing up more on my arm until there was a loud pop.
"Rainbow..." I felt her let go of my arm in a hurry I stood up looking at her my arm dangling at my side. "I'm sorry for making you worry so much." I smiled grabbing my arm and pushing up on it forcing it back into place hurt like hell but oh well happens I guess. "Let's catch that train before I have to go back into the hospital due to unforeseen complications." I chuckled walking towards the train station she quickly followed me walking beside me. I reached down grabbing her hand she didn't move away or attack me she just gripped it back I could see the happiness in her smile.

I was on that train for a few hours I couldn't sleep my thoughts were still clouded thinking about how the fight went. "God damn fool." I whispered thinking of how my brother acted during the fight. I looked down to Rainbow she was sleeping soundly. I was jealous of her sleep. She stirred nuzzling into my shoulder.
"Sleep now my dear Dashie. My battle is over now." I smiled looking down at her hand still wrapped around mine. I sighed looking out the window I saw something flying when I looked again it was gone. I shook my head looking away. Rainbow stirred again looking up at me.
"Frost is something wrong?" She asked confused about my reactions. "Frost?" She asked I shook my head lightly I smiled to her gently.
"Not a single problem in the world now that he is gone." I had a fake smile something was bothering me but I couldn't place my finger on it. I returned my gaze out to the window noticing my reflection I watched it carefully. It changed into something unspeakable I flinched.
"Ok Frost now I know something is wrong tell me what it is." Rainbow demanded but this was not something that concerned her.
"Even I have to have my secrets this is one of them that I can tell no one." I sighed watching the trees in the distance.
We had arrived to Ponyville to a warm reception but it was not meant for me only for Rainbow. I made my escape back to the outskirts of town to my home near the cliff. I looked at the new graffiti on my home. "Monster." "Leave us alone." "Just die." I felt sadness for the hatred people had towards me for a crime I didn't commit. I entered my home pulling Serena off of my belt I stared at her frowning.
"A blade worthy to be called a death dealer." I set the blade next to my decrepit A.W.G. "It's good to see the siblings have been reunited." Smiling I decided to get to work on my repairs. So much has happened in these last few days I am sad to see it all over. "My life will return to normal back to my work and back to the hatred people have for me." I sighed sitting in my chair. I leaned back trying to relax but all I felt was sadness looking down I felt the tears streaming down my face. "Look at me. Pathetic." I raised my hand letting the tears fall into my palm. "I can't even be happy with my revenge I am only sad for what I have done to my brother." I continued to cry for what felt like hours.
I heard a knock at the door which made me jump I tried to dry my tears to no avail. "Yes come in." I chocked out facing towards my wall of spare A.W.G. sets I heard the door open and close then foot steps.
"If you're trying to hide going home isn't the smartest of places." The voice said I glanced over my shoulder to see Twilight.
"Can I help you Twilight I don't think you would have an A.W.G." I tried to play everything off as if it didn't happen.
"Why weren't you at the party?" She asked crossing her arms. I tried to ignore the question by scanning over the parts on my wall. "Frost?" I continued to ignore her I didn't want to answer questions right now I just wanted to work. "Major Frostwing." She said with authority I slammed my fist into the wall Making a few of the parts to fall off the wall.
"Don't..." I was shaking not out of anger but sadness. "I'm not the man I used to be. so stop calling me that." I broke down "I can't go back to what I used to be my brother wants my head on a pike and no matter where I go people will only remember me for the death of my entire team." I was crying so much it hurt. "If you don't mind I just want to be alone right now." I just wanted to cry in peace. The door opened and closed without another word. I sat there in the darkness of my home crying until the tears stopped flowing.
I awoke the next morning groggy as hell and feeling all around bad. "Stupid sadness ruining my concentration." I picked up one of my old projects I was working on months ago I began to tinker with it when I heard a knock at the door. "Enter." I said pulling down my welding mask so whoever it was wouldn't see my face.
"I have a message from her highness Princess Celestia." A royal courier entered my shop handing me a scroll. I quickly unwrapped it reading the message until I saw a single sentence. My heart seemed to stop and start back up. "Sir are you alright?" The courier asked concerned.
"Yea I think I just had a heart attack but I'm alright tell the Princess I accept." I rolled up the scroll setting it inside my work bench. He bowed and left taking off into the sky. I stood walking over to my old military A.W.G. I strapped it on carefully the amplifier stones pulsed from black to an ice blue.
"This is a special day Serith so I will take you out to stretch." I said smiling walking out the door I noticed Rainbow flying around. "I will ask her out today no regrets." I clenched my fists taking off into the sky towards her an Ice blue streak followed me as I flew. Rainbow noticed me but must have not recognized the stream She began to fly away. "RAINBOW DASH!" I yelled flying up next to her. She smiled seeing that it was me and began to slow I went into a hover next to her.
"Hey Frost where did you get the antique?" She asked with that same cocky attitude. I sighed.
"Rainbow this is Serith my military A.W.G. and my greatest comrade." I placed my hand on one of the amplifiers they shifted from ice blue to a light pink.
"Did your amplifiers just change color?" Rainbow asked observing them carefully.
"Yes they did it's the rarest amplifiers you can find." I smiled. "Each set is carved from a rare stone called an aurora crystal. when they are placed in an A.W.G. they begin to adapt a personality and a 'voice'." I smiled moving my hand away from the amplifier. "Place your hand on the stone and listen with your heart not your ears." I said looking at her with a gentle smile.
Rainbow extended her hand placing it upon the amplifier she closed her eyes listening when a tiny female voice spoke to her. "Hello Rainbow Dash my name is Serith it is a pleasure to meet you." The voice sounded cheery. Rainbow pulled away startled.
"Serith I take it you were being polite to Rainbow." I smiled watching the stone surge pink. I chuckled happily.
"So Serith is a girl." Rainbow said placing her hand back upon the stone.
"That's just the personality she chose but she respects me very much and has saved my life many times." I placed my hand on top of Rainbow's. "And it seems she likes you." I smiled to her gently she looked at me blushing lightly. "Rainbow I have a question for you." I rubbed the back of my head nervously. "Would you like to go get dinner with me tonight and not have to worry about being attacked by a crazy sibling." I was so nervous I blurted out the last part. I felt a hand upside my head I looked up to only get hugged by Rainbow.
"Of course you idiot." She let me go taking off to towards Ponyville I stood there dumbfounded I smiled happily taking off higher into the sky when I knew I was out of ear shot I took a large gasp of air.
"SHE SAID YES!" I yelled at the top of my lungs before corkscrewing towards the ground. "I finally get that second date what should I wear?" I asked myself gliding towards my home.

I sat in my home finishing up some designs for the new upgrades for the A.W.G. I looked over to Serith smiling. "It's good that I finally got that date with Rainbow but this time there will be no interruptions." I looked down at the design I had drawn Rainbow Dash in the corner I was frustrated that I let my hand do what it wanted. "Stop betraying me hand this is the thirteenth time you have done this." I scolded my hand sighing. "OK I think it is time to begin the preparations for the date." I stood up looking at the design I took my pen writing the name for the new design. "The Dash" I smiled at the name.
I heard a knock at my door I walked over to it smiling but my smile disappeared when I saw who was at the door I moved quickly grabbed them pulling them in by the throat slamming them into the wall. "What do you want?" I stared at the woman I pulled into my home.
"Can't a mother say hello to her son." The woman said I let go moving away from her.
"No she can not." I was cold towards my mother she had treated me and my brother horribly teaching us if we wanted something we should just take it. I never took her words to heart unlike my brother. "Make this quick I have somewhere to be." I turned away from her pulling Serith onto my back.
"It's your father Frost he is dying." My blood ran cold at those words. "He wants you to come see him before his time is up." I turned towards my mother her arms were crossed she seemed to be annoyed.
"Where is he?" I asked I would have to postpone my plans for a bit to go see him.
"Cloudsdale same as always." She huffed looking around my workshop. "This place is trash why didn't you move back in after you killed your team?" She asked trying to get a reaction out of me.
I pushed past her out of my home. "If I come back and you are still here I will not be as kind as I have been." I glared at her taking off into the air racing off towards Cloudsdale. I had to see the man who made me who I am today.
Rainbow Dash was sitting outside her home. She didn't have to work today so she decided to be lazy. "I am supposed to meet Frost at the Golden Flower at seven and then we can go for a flight afterwards." She squealed in delight she didn't show this side of herself to many ruined her image. A black streak formed across the horizon Rainbow watched it closely. "That's Frost. But where is he going?" She questioned standing up taking off towards the streak.
I was flying faster than what I normally did to keep ahead of that horrible woman who called herself my mother. I saw a Rainbow streak flying towards me. "Rainbow..." I sighed slowing to a stop for her to catch up to me. She slowed to me.
"Where are you going in such a hurry Frost?" I sighed looking towards Cloudsdale sadly. She placed a hand on my shoulder I looked over to her she looked worried. "Frost what happened?" I didn't want her to worry but I can't lie to her not again.
"It's my father I have to go see him at Cloudsdale General Care. He has requested to see me before he dies." I turned back to the floating city. "I have to hurry." I began to drift towards the city.
Rainbow grabbed my hand. "Then lets hurry." She smiled to me lightly as we both took off towards Cloudsdale as fast as we could. When we finally arrived we ran straight for the hospital.
"Can you tell me what room Brigadier General Afterburner is?" I questioned the receptionist. He turned away from me helping someone else who wasn't even in a rush. I slammed my fist on the counter. "I NEED TO KNOW WHERE HE IS!" I yelled everyone in the waiting room turned towards me. The receptionist turned towards me he waved me away. I reached over grabbing the man by the shirt dragging him face to face with me. "Either you tell me or I will turn this hospital upside down finding him. He nodded telling me where his room was. "Was that so bucking hard." I said throwing him back into his chair.
"Frost calm down." I looked back at Rainbow she looked more worried than before.
"I'm sorry Rainbow I have to see him." I wasn't in a good mood but I couldn't afford to be nice to people who didn't want to cooperate. I went to the elevator pressing the button for my father's floor. When we arrived I ran for his room. Took a little longer than I wanted finding his room. Opening the door I saw my father in bed hooked up to so many machines it made my heart sink.
He turned to see me he smiled happily. "Frost it's so good to see you after so long." I smiled walking up to him I leaned down hugging him gently. He patted my back. "I'm glad you got my message hopefully your mother didn't give you to much trouble." He chuckled.
"No that woman didn't give me trouble I just want to know what happened." I stood up looking over I saw Rainbow enter the room.
"That can wait Frost who is this lovely beauty you brought with you." I saw Rainbow blush she smacked me upside the head. I shot her a confused look she only huffed. "I can see she acts just like Thunderstrike." He said chuckling whole heartily before falling into a coughing fit.
"Dad this is Rainbow Dash The fastest flier in all of Equestria." I smiled watching Rainbow rub the back of her head embarrassed.
"Well it is a pleasure to see Frost finally found himself a girlfriend." He chuckled again I was embarrassed by that statement Rainbow shot me a confused look I only shrugged.
"It is a pleasure to meet you sir." Rainbow smiled extending her hand. Dad only looked at the hand he motioned for her to come closure. She did he wrapped her in a hug whispering something to her I couldn't hear him. When he let go he smack her butt which resulted in me being placed face first onto the ground having a foot in the back of my head.
"What did I do?" I mumbled out.
"I can't hurt him so I will hurt you instead." Rainbow's logic was half sound but the other half still confused me.
After a few more minutes the doctors came in ushering us to leave. I had found out what was wrong with my father but he could still recover from it nothing to severe but still had a chance to kill him. "He will be fine." I said smiling he was healthy besides that cough but that will pass. I looked over to Rainbow she was being quiet I grabbed her hand gently. I saw her smile. "You ok Rainbow?" I asked her she turned to me smiling but I saw a tear forming.
"Yea Frost I'm ok just some things on my mind." I saw the tear fall I stopped her pulling her into a hug. I felt her shaking as she returned the hug.
"What's wrong Rainbow this isn't like you?" I was more than just concerned for her. "What happened?" I had a fleeting guess as to what it was.
"It's nothing Frost just a very old memory of something I never had." Her words cut my heart to pieces. "I will be fine Frost." She pulled away smiling but the tears were still there. I reached up placing my hand on her cheek gently I wiped away a tear smiling.
"You shouldn't cry Rainbow." I said watching her carefully I saw the tears stop she blushed looking up at me. I felt her punch me in the stomach.
"I wasn't crying I just had something in my eye." She tried to brush it off. Now that's the Rainbow Dash I know.
"OK come on we got dinner to go to." I smiled taking to the sky Rainbow quickly followed me happily.
Part 11: A Beautiful Night
A Simple Repair

I flew with Rainbow back to Ponyville. She had returned to her normal self but was relatively quiet the whole flight it worried me to no end. I looked over to her she looked sad. "Rainbow." No response I flew under her flying upside down. "Rainbow." Still nothing I sighed moving my hand up placing it on her shoulder. "Rainbow we are almost there." I smiled to her when she finally snapped out of her state. We slowed to a stop landing next to the restaurant.
"Let's go get some food I'm starved." Rainbow stretched walking into the building I followed her quickly avoiding a few people on my way.
We sat in the center of the restaurant I could feel the eyes upon me made me feel uneasy. "I wish they put us in a booth in the back these stares are killing me." I whispered to Rainbow she only chuckled.
"Just smile and shrug it off like you always do." She waved her hand dismissively. I looked around the people went back to their food.
"I hope you are right Rainbow, I hate being treated like an outcast over something stupid." I said a little to loud I looked over to see a couple staring at me with so much malice. Great that was Lightshock's parents. "Rainbow I don't want to sound rude but we should eat quickly then leave." I just wanted to go back to my isolation.
"Frost..." Rainbow seemed worried for me I only sighed. "Ok after this lets go for a flight I wanna show you a cool spot." She smiled.
Our food arrived shortly after we were both starving so eat the meal quickly didn't take long but we still had a long chat as we ate just some talk about flight and A.W.G.'s I told her about Serith and how I had obtained her. "Dad always believed in me said I could conquer anything I set my mind to." I looked down at my hands I saw that horrific flash once again all that blood. "I went and found The Aurora stone thus I created Serith she has been with me for as long as I could remember." Moving my hand to the strap of my A.W.G. I felt Serith. The waiter approached setting the check down I pulled out a few bits I placed them on the check standing up. "Let's get out of here I wanna see that spot." I smiled to Rainbow and was rewarded with a smile from her.
We left the building but was stopped by Lightshock's parents. I watched his mother walk up. Knowing what was coming I didn't even try to defend myself a hand struck me across the face. Rainbow was about to jump the woman I raised my hand telling her to stop. "You... Monster you killed our only son it's your fault he is dead. Do you know the pain of bury your child?" She asked me crying as she yelled at me. "Give us back out Light give back our son." I watched this woman break down I only watched as she cried. I turned around walking away from her. "ARE YOU JUST GOING TO LEAVE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE STOLEN FROM US!" She yelled as I continued to walk away.
"Frost... Why didn't you stick up for yourself?" Rainbow asked me I only continued to walk keeping my face hidden. She grabbed my shoulder turning me around. What was that look on her face? Shock, worry, sympathy, or some mixture of the three? I wiped away my tears. "Why are you crying?" She asked me when she raised her hand towards my face I backed away.
"It's my curse to bear for not stopping my brother the pain the families feel is directed towards me." I was still crying but it had to be said. "Monsters like me are hated." A hand struck me across the face. I was stunned looking at Rainbow.
"You are not a monster Frost." Her words were filled with anger but not towards me but for how I was talking. "Monsters don't feel the pain of others they only care about themselves." She placed her hand on my cheek. "Now stop crying Frost or I will not show you the spot." I smiled to her words wiping away my final tears she smiled taking off towards the outskirts of Ponyville I followed quickly.
The spot was beautiful it overlooked rolling hills the sun was just beginning to set on the horizon. I was in awe of how peaceful the place looked. "So how do you like my spot." Rainbow's words tore my attention from the view. "I normally come here to relax just to get away from the world you know." I looked over to her the sun was hitting her just right that her hair glowed.
"Beautiful." I whispered she looked over to me.
"Yea this spot sure is." I smiled looking at the view again.
"I wasn't talking about the view Rainbow Dash." I noticed her blushing in the corner of my eye. "I'm lucky I guess." I looked back over at Rainbow she was looking back at me. "I found a girl who won't judge me upon my past." The sun was just about finished setting behind Rainbow the moon soon took it's place behind me. "Someone I would gladly sacrifice everything to protect." She seemed to be touched by that. "I will always be loyal to Rainbow Dash, the woman who thawed my heart of ice." I turned to look out towards the field. I felt a light peck on my cheek I looked over to see Rainbow facing away from me.
"That was so cheesy Frost." She stated crossing her arms in a huff. I leaned over kissing her on the top of her head.
"Yea but you wouldn't like me any other way." I stood up looking in the distance. "But it's all true I no longer feel pain when I am with you." I rubbed the back of my head. "I don't know how to say it but my soul feels at peace with everything I have done with you around." Rainbow stood up watching me carefully.
"Frost you suck at trying to be romantic." She slugged me in the arm. "Now let's get home." Rainbow smiled moving away blushing.

It has been a week since me and rainbow started dating. I was sitting in my shop cleaning up Serith she needed an upgrade along with a new coat of paint. I heard a knock at my door I looked up wondering who it could be this early. "We are closed right now come back later." I stated going back to my work then I heard the door open. I set down my tools reaching over to Serena. When I saw who it was I relaxed. "Rarity, a pleasure to see you what can I do for you?" I asked with a smile.
"I just need a favor Frostwing." She bounced her hair smiling. "Since your so skilled with that blade you could easily do this." She was trying to be cryptic but oh well.
"No Rarity, beyond contrary belief I am not a hit-man." I said as a joke but she must have taken it the wrong way before she could go off on me I diffused the situation. "What do you need Rarity, I am more than happy to help." I was in a good mood Serith was almost complete and the design earlier this week was completed built and tested successfully.
"I have run out of gems for my work and I need to go resupply. Problem is there are diamond dogs in the area so I need some protection." She bounced her hair again. I smiled going back to work. "Are you trying to ignore me?" She asked appalled by me not answering her first.
"No Rarity, I just need to complete this upgrade on Serith first don't want to go into a fight flightless." I finished up rather quickly. "But anyway sure I can protect you if I said no Rainbow would kill me." I rubbed the back of my head nervously.
"Good now let us be off I need to fill this order tonight if I want it to get to the client on time." She left my home I quickly followed.
"Preaching to the choir sister." I whispered as we made our way to the diamond hills.
We made it to the diamond hills in a short amount of time Spike was with us. He was the digger for this excursion Rarity would find them with magic then spike would dig them up. I just watched from the sky. I noticed movement behind some rocks. I made a mental note of the location. I was about to land when I spotted movement again it seemed to be circling Rarity and Spike. "Well maybe I won't be just hovering here with nothing to worry about." I descended next to Rarity. "Keep calm but we are surrounded that means don't scream just let them come to us." I was sure to emphasize the word don't. I do like my hearing you know.
"What are we going to do?" Rarity asked me with concern. I only smiled.
"Talk to them." I said as if that was all we had to do. She was about to protest when I let out an ear shattering whistle. "Alright boys come out you're not fooling anyone go get your leader and bring him here." I stated with authority. I saw one stand up from his cover I noticed who it was. "Crusher? Crusher is that you?" I asked he noticed me as well.
"Frost!" He yelled running over to me giving me a strong handshake. "I thought you were dead I heard the news my condolences." I waved it off. "Everyone come out it's only Frost." Crusher yelled out towards the rocks the group that was most likely going to kidnap all of us then ransom us off came out a few of them smiled seeing me but then I notice a few new faces.
"I thought the last time I was here me and the boss had a nice long chat about kidnapping people?" Something wasn't right.
"Grinder passed away his son took over as boss brought back the old ways." Crusher told me with despair. I felt sorry for him.
"Crusher they are stealing our gems you know the rules." A diamond dog I didn't recognize said angrily. I glared at him.
"Dust, shut up do you even know who this is?"
"I don't care if he steals our gems he is our enemy."
"Dust was it do me a favor?" I asked him calmly. A few of the others backed away. "Learn some respect." I watched him carefully.
"You steal you don't deserve our respect." Ok I have had enough of this. I walked over to Dust.
"You are going to go get Grinder's son and bring him here or I will personally carve you to pieces." My tone was dark and dangerous. He was shaking out of fear. "Now what are you waiting for?" I asked he turned away running into a cave.
"I'm sorry Frost he is still new to this doesn't know the list of people not to mess with." Crusher placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Happens all the time you mind if we finish up our work here we can give you a cut." I was being polite I was taking these gems but I always pay a fee when I do.
"No way Frost I don't take payment from you. You're family and family doesn't pay." I smiled looking over to Rarity.
"Hey Rarity can you find a few good Gem veins and mark them for these guys it's a type of payment." I smiled when she nodded.
"I hate you sometimes Frost making the young ones jobs easy they won't know how to find gems with you making it this easy." Crusher was just being an ass but it was all in good fun.
After a few minutes Dust returned with a very large Person behind him. "I'm gonna guess that is the new boss." I pointed at the large man. Crusher nodded.
"Boss that's the man who is stealing our gems." Dust said as the man walked towards me he carried a large hammer. I only watched him carefully.
"Tiny man steal gems tiny man die." I listened to him I only shook my head.
"Ok I had to talk with your father about this now I have to tell you." I placed my hand on the side of his hammer. "Enough with your ignorance." I drew my blade and slashed the hammer just behind the head and sheathed my blade all in the same movement. "Now I am your friend not your enemy my name is Frostwing I was a friend of your father's." I watched as the head fell down to the ground. "Stop kidnapping people for money and find the gems." I turned towards Crusher. "If he keeps this up come find me in ponyville I'm by the canyon." I looked over towards Rarity.
"Sure thing Frost but what are you going to do?" I looked at him confused.
"I'm going to go home after seeing my girlfriend finish my work and go to bed." I smiled thinking about seeing Rainbow today.
The boss raised what was left of his hammer I drew my blade placing the tip against his throat. "Do not make me repeat myself." I glared at the man he moved his weapon towards the ground. "Good next time I will do more than just stop you." I sheathed my blade looking over to Rarity. "Are we ready to go?" She nodded quietly. "Great let us take our leave." I walked over to Crusher. "Stop by sometime I could use another good set of hands crafting." I shook his hand walking away from the hills with Rarity behind me she seemed to be keeping her distance.
We were about to reach Ponyville when Rarity stopped me. "Frost, Why didn't you just attack them?" Her question confused me.
"Why would I create senseless violence when I can resolve a situation peacefully?" I stated as if the answer was obvious.
"But you could have saved a lot of trouble by fighting." I looked at her with a sad look.
"I will not fight like a monster I will resolve without violence if I can if not then you will see a demon." I turned away taking to the sky. "I don't want to be like my brother so I don't kill unless I have to so I am asking you as a friend." I sighed heavily. "Just drop this subject and leave it be." I turned towards Rainbow's home rocketing off into the distance.

"Frost there is something wrong my wing is coming apart." A voice said next to me then I heard all of them.
"Frost what's happening?"
"Major I'm losing lift."
"HELP US!" I saw all of them fall my world shifted I was on the ground in front of their graves all 11 of them.
"I am so sorry your Major couldn't save you." I felt the tears fall the true nightmare began they crawled out of their graves. The mangled bodies of my fallen comrades they grabbed me yelling at me to save them. "I tried." I sat there as they began to drag me into the ground a blinding flash appeared before me.
"Major Frostwing still haunted by these dreams I see." I looked up to see Princess Luna.
"Why do you save me every-time Princess?" I asked looking back at the graves. "This is my punishment for not saving them." I looked back at the princess.
"There is still much use you have in the living world." Her words did nothing to calm me. "What about Rainbow she still needs you what would she do if you were to just disappear forever?" I was confused by this question.
"She wouldn't have to worry about the baggage I bring with me over something I didn't even cause." I looked at the Princess. "In your eyes I am just a criminal someone not worth saving." My words were cold. "Why should you care what happens to me?" I asked glaring at her.
"Because I believe in second chances Major." Her words were filled with sorrow. I didn't want to be so cold to her.
"I'm sorry Princess I just want to go back to my old life where no one hated me I was respected as a person and as a man of science." sighing I stood up. "But there is not a single force in this world that can make people change their views." I caught the sadness on her face. "You know that Princess you know it more than me." I turned away from her. "I should wake up soon I have so much work to complete before night comes." I smiled for the first time in my dreams. "You have a wonderful night Princess keep the people safe from the nightmares I have caused."
I awoke slowly looking around. "Time to work just a few modifications on the new design and it should be ready for flight testing." I smiled wondering how I could decrease the weight of the wings. I went to the front of my shop when I heard a ruckus at my door. "It's before dawn who could that be?" I asked walking to the door I looked out the peep hole. What I saw made me take a few steps away from my door. "Why an angry mob with..." I heard crashing against my home then the familiar roar of fire. I freaked running into my shop I grabbed as much gear as possible. Tools, Serith, Serena, and the schematics for the designs. I moved my work station opening a secret hatch just as the fire was beginning to spread into my shop I ran down the stairs strapping Serith onto my back. When I reached the exit I jumped out launching into the air making sure my trail was black to mask my escape.
"Did we get him?" One of them asked watching the house burn.
"I don't know when the blaze is finished we will check." Another said throwing another Molotov onto the home. I watched in horror at what they had done they destroyed my home my livelihood all in hopes of killing me. I watched as a few wept.
"This was for our son you monster." I felt my heart sink. Revenge can make people do such horrible things. I was done watching I will have to find a new place to stay until this was all sorted out.
I arrived at Twilight's home I knocked on the door but it was Spike who opened the door. "Hey Mr. Frost whatcha need?" I smiled to him even though it felt hollow.
"I need to speak with Twilight about sending something to Princess Celestia." He nodded running back in to get Twilight it didn't take long to see a very tired and upset looking Twilight coming towards me.
"Ok Frost this had better be good." She must not be a morning person I sighed handing her a letter.
"I need a few things cleared up and I need Princess Celestia's help in order to do so." I was being straight forward for the simple fact I just wanted to leave and find Rainbow Dash.
Twilight grabbed the letter she was about to open it when I stopped her. "I have to read it before I send it want to make sure your not sending something to waste the Princess's time." I looked at her before letting go.
The letter read
Dear Princess Celestia,
This morning my home was burned to the ground all in the sake of revenge for that mission a few years ago resulting in the death of my squad... I don't know what to do so I am asking for your advice on this matter. I have tried explaining it wasn't me but they will not listen to me. I am at the end of my rope Princess please help me.

Twilight looked at me with horror. "They burned down your home!?" She was outraged by this I just nodded. "And what are you going to do about it Frost?" Her question confused me I couldn't do anything my training didn't cover this I didn't know how to react to this with peace.
"Nothing." I sighed. "I can't do a single thing." I looked at the letter. "Can you please just send it for me I need answers." I turned to look out my window there was a smoke trail on the horizon. I heard the roar of fire when I turned around the letter was gone.
"Should only take a few minutes I will contact Rainbow Dash having her here might help you feel better." And with that she disappeared in a flash of lavender light. I just sat there Spike was trying to comfort me but I just sat there trying to keep everything together.
Rainbow came in she seemed to be angry. but I only looked up to her. "What happened Frost? Twilight told me someone burned down your home." I just looked down at the ground that's when I saw a brilliant flash in the library it was Princess Celestia herself I looked to her confused as to why she came her personally.
"Princess why have you come personally?" I was amazed that the Princess was willing to come deal with this problem personally.
"Major Frostwing." Her voice boomed full of authority. I shuddered under her glare I couldn't move. "Where are these people? I will pass judgement on these people for what they have done." I was shocked at hearing this.
"No." Was the only word I could say she raised an eyebrow at me. "I don't want to continue this cycle of revenge I want it to just end." I was having such a hard time speaking under that glare.
"You wanted revenge on your brother why not these people?" Her question caused me to pause. I did want revenge on my brother but I now saw how wrong it was.
"They are acting on a false accusation they are just angry and sad that they have lost a part of their families." I sighed. "Why should I punish those who have been punished enough?" I questioned back. Now it was Celestia's turn to be surprised.
"I see The Major has returned." She said with a smile. "You have grown away from revenge and have regained your compassion towards others." She pulled something out of her pocket showing it to me. I looked at what she was showing me my eyes widened at the objects in her hands. "I have two choices for you Frostwing." She smiled pulling out a second object from her other pocket. "Take what is in my left hand and return to duty. You will have an assignment and you will disappear no one will know of you anymore." She smiled opening her left hand. "Or you could take what is in my right hand. Remain as you are with Rainbow Dash unmoving protecting her from all threats along with this city the choice if yours Frost." I sighed placing my hand over her right hand.
"I will have never existed." I moved my other hand to her right hand. "Or I will continue to suffer." I smiled closing my hands around both objects taking them from her hands. I looked at what I now held. The object in my right hand held a single star of a general. I turned to the object in my left hand it was a small rusted oak leaf. "Become something new or stay the same." I dropped the single star back into her hands. "I have come so far I will not give up my friends and family for getting rid of my punishment." I stated looking at the oak in my hand.
"Then your fate is sealed to solely protect those around you without pause. If you fail it will fall on your shoulders to fix the problem." Celestia said turning away from me. "Protect them Frostwing." She said before disappearing.
I backed away to the couch nearest me sitting down. Rainbow placed her hand on my shoulder calmly causing me to jump. "Frost you ok?" She asked me which she received a slow nod.
"I will be ok Rainbow I just need to find a place to stay now." I said looking up at her.
"I guess you can stay at my house and crash on the couch." She said looking away blushing. I smiled at her kindness I leaned over hugging her gently.
"Thank you Rainbow." I said feeling the tears coming no one had shown me such kindness. I would not take advantage of her kindness and protect her as much to my power.
A Sudden Stop

I awoke on a couch looking at the ceiling. I raised my arm to my face wiping the sleep from my eyes trying to understand how I got here. "Rainbow..." I whispered sitting up slowly. "She let me crash on her couch." I swung my feet off the couch placing a hand to my face I was exhausted from the day before but I needed to get up. Standing felt like a chore but it needed to be done That's when I smelled something cooking. Then I saw the smoke I moved into the kitchen to see Rainbow struggling to make breakfast.
"Why is cooking so aggravating?" She asked herself with a groan. "It's just food why can't I get it right?" She threw away what she was cooking before starting again. I walked up behind her slowly.
"That's because it takes a little skill to cook." Rainbow jumped turning around frying pan in hand. I caught her by the wrist stopping her. "Please don't swing a hot frying pan at me." I said with a smile before taking the frying pan from her. "What are you trying to cook?" I asked with a smile. She blushed looking at the ground.
"I was trying to make you some breakfast before you woke up." She kicked the ground gently. "But I'm not good at cooking." I smiled to her placing my hand on her head ruffling it gently. She gave me an annoyed look.
"It's ok I got this." I said with a smile. Walking past her to the stove cooking some eggs and pancakes.
After some breakfast we decided to go for a flight it felt nice to have Rainbow right next to me. "So where are we flying to Rainbow?" I asked smiling.
"We are going to visit Fluttershy." She smiled pulling ahead of me I kept at my speed so I could think.
As we flew through the clouds I listened to Celestia's words closely. 'What did she mean I had to protect this town?' I asked myself looking up to the sky seeing a hawk flying I turned sideways to drop closer to the ground. When I was low enough I leveled out flying very close to the ground. I saw a figure on the ground standing near a stone watching me as I passed He followed me by moving his head I looked back only to see he was gone. "Who was that?" I questioned speeding up towards Rainbow.
After a few minutes we landed near Fluttershy's cottage it was nice very homely looking even though it looked basic. "Hey Rainbow Why does she live so far away the town?" I looked to Rainbow who looked at me annoyed. "What?"
"You lived far away from town as well Frost." She pointed out I sighed.
"I know that but that was to escape my past Fluttershy isn't running from her past to my knowledge." I said explaining to her once again my reasoning.
"She is just really shy it is in her name." Frost smile to Rainbow.
"Well that does answer my question." I chuckled.
"Anyway we are seeing if Fluttershy is willing to help us find you a place." I looked at her with mock hurt.
"I have only stayed at your place for one day and you already want to kick me out." I said trying to be over dramatic. She looked at me with a deadpan stare that turned into a light blush.
"I don't mind you staying with me but I would think you would want a new place." She quicked her pace to Fluttershy's that's when I noticed that her door was open but that's what made me pause stopping Rainbow.
"Rainbow do me a favor go to Twilight's tell her we have a problem." I walked past her towards Fluttershy's cottage. The door was slightly de-hinged as if someone kicked the door open.
"GET YOU HANDS OFF OF ME!" I heard Rainbow yell I turned back to see Rainbow on the ground someone was on her back yanking the amplifiers out of her wings. I ran towards where they were only to be stopped by a pillar of green fire I turned to see who had done it seeing that same person who was watching me earlier.
"Who the hell are you?" I asked watching them carefully he pulled out a note tossing it towards me before disappearing in a flash of green I turned to see rainbow gone as well. I knelt down picking up the note I opened it reading it slowly.
'We have the elements come and get them.'
My hand tightened around the note crushing it I felt my blood boil. "You want a fight...?" I asked as I tightened my grip. "You got one." I took off violently flying towards the library. Spike can send the letter to Celestia while I did my job.
As I landed outside the Library I saw The door had been kicked open as well. I walked inside seeing Spike on the ground unconscious I shook him waking him from his unwanted sleep. "Ugh what hit me?" He rubbed the back of his head as if he was hurt. I helped him to his feet sitting him down on the couch.
"Spike listen to me carefully." I began making sure I had his attention. "Send a letter to Celestia telling her the elements are gone they were kidnapped and I am going to save them. Also send her the code: Frost. She will know what it means and send what it is needed." I slowly stood walking to the wall near the door picking up Serena I locked her on my belt knowing what I was going to do.
Spike was worried but wrote the letter along with the code to Celestia it only took a few seconds for her to reply. only one word was sent.
'EVACUATE!'
Spike shuddered knowing that if Celestia was this nervous then something surrounding Frost was something to fear. He began the long task of evacuating the town by Celestia's order.
I entered the Everfree Forest walking through the expanse of trees I heard growls coming from all around me but they dared not attack. "Stay out of my way." I whispered as the sounds came to a stop. I wasn't mad it was something else as if everything in my body was refusing to stop until everything was safe once again. No hatred, no sadness, only an untamed determination to save them from whatever took them from me.
A shot of Green lightning launched forward towards me tilting my head slightly the bolt flew past my face. I knew where the bolt came from but I didn't have time to fight this nuisance. That's what I thought but then I saw who it was that launched the bolt my blood froze it looked just like Rainbow Dash. she raised her arm launching another bolt of lightning. I took off towards the imposter I passed over but my hand caught onto something near it's forehead. "Imposter..." I said through my deadpan expression. My blade was swift cutting the horn near it's forehead off. The creature fell to the ground as it's disguise burned away. "Where are they?" I asked kneeling down the creature glared at me.
"Never tell." The creature said in broken Equestian. I swung my blade again cutting off a finger. The creature didn't bat an eye at this.
"Fine if cutting off a finger doesn't work." I swung my blade up, the changeling's arm fell to the ground. "Give me the information I want." I set the blade under it's second arm. "Or I keep cutting." The creature was now panicking.
"Hive... Ahead." I smiled before my expression disappeared raising my blade one final time I saw him pale as the blade disappeared into my sheath.
"Death..." I whispered walking away I saw the creature stand but that's as far as it got before falling to the ground in a pile of gore. "Don't worry Rainbow I'm coming." My words seemed to echo as I crossed into a clearing seeing a massive hive before me.
A Simple Repair

I walked towards the hive seeing an army waiting for me and what seemed to be a queen at the front waiting for me. "Is this all Celestia sent to retrieve her Precious elements. One man does she not take us seriously. I Chrystalis am offended by this display of ignorance" I looked up to her she had a horn and an A.W.G. on her back a sickly green aura emanated from her. I remained silent as I walked towards her. "Are you going to take on an entire army boy?" She asked crossing her arms.
"Yes." I replied drawing my blade I watched her closely she raised her arm pointing at me. The entirety of the army charged at me.
I was not afraid of the army coming towards me. If anything I felt at peace with myself knowing this might be my last moments. But a voice screamed in my head telling me I can't die yet I have to protect Rainbow Dash she needed me. "Prepare to die." I heard Chrystalis announce which made me on my guard just as a blade came down near my head. I sighed flicking my wrist slashing and hacking my way through the army coming towards me. I saw that I was now surrounded. My wings flicked open surrounding my body in a protective shell. they only saw a single red eye watching them. The fear began to spread through them.
"Come and get me." I whispered watching a few of the changelings back away from me. as I continued to stare at all of them through my wings. One of them made the mistake to charge at me from behind My wings extended stopping him I twisted my body the tips of the wings sliced through him leaving him in pieces.
"Enough of this." I looked up seeing Chrystalis holding onto Rainbow Dash by her hair. I watched her my anger rising but I needed to remain calm otherwise I won't be able to stop. She pulled out a knife placing it against Rainbow's back. I instinctively extended my hand to see her do the same. What I saw next made my heart stop. Chrystalis plunged the knife into Rainbow's back I saw Rainbow fall over in pain. My hatred for the queen exploded forth as I pulled a cord on my A.W.G. a second set of wings unfolded from the back. "Can you save your precious elements in time before this one dies?" She blinked that's when I made my move I rocketed forward like a lighting strike When she opened her eyes my blade was coming down she barely made it in time to block my strike. I reached my free hand out grabbing the queen by the throat lifting her off the ground.
"You... Will die." My words were barely audible as I lost myself to the heat of battle. I threw Chrystalis off and away from me. Rainbow looked up to me I could see she was in pain I felt tears streaming down my face as I knelt down grabbing her hand gently. "I'm sorry Rainbow." I helped her up flying into the Hive to find the others. Once found I released them giving them Rainbow Dash.
"Frost what are you going to do?" Twilight asked me as I turned my back to them.
"Help her Twilight, I know you can save her and I can protect you all while you do so." I walked back out of the hive to see the army waiting for me. None of them dared to advance towards me except the queen who seemed to be charging a spell into her hand. She threw what looked like a fireball towards me. Raising my wings it splashed harmlessly against them. "The first of you to enter this hive will be met without mercy." I pointed to Chrysallis. "Let us settle this elsewhere." I started walking away from the hive towards the queen she watched me carefully as I walked past her. I heard her about to make an order to her army when met blade was stopped next to her throat. "Think your next words wisely." I ordered her the look in my eyes made a few of the Changelings close to us fall over unconscious.
"You are all to hold until my return have no fear your Queen will deal with this trash and then we will take over Canterlot." My blade lowered from her neck.
"Let's see if you can kill me." I took off into the air flying towards Ponyville.
I landed on the outskirts of Ponyville I saw no one walking through the town. "Good the code has been sent." I smiled gently knowing I didn't have to hold back. 'Serith... Serena... To battle once again.' I turned to see Chrysalis land.
"Why did you choose this place where you can't fight all out without killing someone." Chrystalis smiled thinking she had already won.
"You have no idea what I do. Do you?" My amplifiers pulsed an ice blue it seemed as if the area's temperature was dropping drastically. "Major Frostwing of the deceased 9th Battalion of halo fliers. Call sign Frozen Demon." I held my blade at the ready. Chrystalis didn't seem to care but I could see the fear in her eyes.
"Frostwing was executed for his crimes do not try to fool me." She drew her blade ready to fight. We waited for the correct time to strike. I dashed forward swinging down upon Chrystalis she parried my attack swinging at me only for me to move one of my wings swatting her away from me.
"Magic users we never good against fliers takes you to long to attack when we think the wings move." I walked slowly towards her raising my blade that's when I saw something in the corner of my eye it was three young girls walking towards the fight. My eyes widened when I saw The queen launch a pillar of fire at the girls. I could either take my chance killing the queen but that would mean the children had to die. I took off as fast as possible landing before the children I wrapped my wings and body around them just as the pillar hit my back. The pillar of fire finally ceased my entire body screamed in agony at the burns and pain. I slowly stood one of my wings falling to the ground I looked back towards the Queen. "Girls go to the mountains Spike should be there tell him I am so sorry." I smiled to them I knew there was extensive damage to my back moving at all hurt.
"I guess you are something else Fake." I just watched as she disappeared in a flash. I felt something pierce my stomach. Looking down I saw her blade in my stomach. I coughed up a pool of blood onto of her head she was smiling. "Even immortals die." She said pulling the blade out I collapsed to my knees I looked at the Queen.
"Who says I'm dead yet." I reached my hand out grabbing Chrystalis by one of her wings I sliced right through it as if it were no tougher than paper. I turned with the wing in hand smacking her aside with it. "You will need more pain to kill me suffer like I have..." I dropped the wing to the ground. I looked at the wound in my stomach sighing. I saw that Chrystalis was slowly standing. "I guess I should wrap this up." I smiled looking at Serena There was a trigger on the hilt. "Maybe I should use that." I smiled placing my finger on the trigger. clicking the trigger the blade began to steam I took flight towards Chrystalis swinging my blade down upon her carving through her arm she screamed in agony as the wound froze over. She swung her blade towards my head it slammed into my amplifier cracking it. I heard Serith scream in my head which only fueled my anger more. Chrystalis's horn glowed a sickly green. Magic in this fight put me at a disadvantage I quickly sliced through her horn. I launched my hand out ceasing her by the throat I raised her up placing my blade in the center of her chest.
"Do it." She spat as I only watched where the blade would end up. "Kill me and claim your prize." She spat blood at me hitting my cheek.
"No." I dropped her to the ground looking down upon her. "The suffering ends here." I walked past her grabbing her remaining wing dragging her back to the hive. She was defeated.
As I arrived a few of the Changelings dropped their weapons in shock at what had happen to their queen. I walked past the entire army letting Chrystalis go. Reaching the hive I felt something pierce my back making it's way through my chest then another and another I stood there with swords knives spears all sticking out of my back. I slowly turned looking at my attackers they froze at the look in my eyes. Raising my blade I cut down those that were foolish enough to attack me. I felt weak nothing was responding to my commands yet I continued to move forward into the hive seeing all of the girls Rainbow Dash was standing with the help of AppleJack and Pinkie Pie I stopped in front of them The looks of their faces were enough to make me cringe.
"Frost..." Rainbow muttered extending a hand towards me. I reached for it but missed where her hand was.
"I'm sorry I'm late I guess I owe you a date." I smiled as blood pooled in my mouth. I saw tears stream down their faces.
"Yes you do Frost so make sure you stay alive for it." My vision darkened as I fell to the ground.

A Sudden Stop

I slowly woke up from what felt like a long sleep. The first thing I saw was the cieling bleach white tiled... I turned my head seeing 6 women in my room sleeping soundly. moving my arms slowly I sat up my body protested against the movements. When I was finally sitting up I looked at the person to my immediate right. "Rainbow Dash." I whispered placing my hand onto her head petting her hair gently. How did I get here I don't remember much.
"Frost...?" I looked down to see Rainbow looking up at me I smiled to her putting a finger over my lips saying we should be quiet. "Thank you so much." She whispered wrapping me in a gentle hug I sighed knowing it hurt. This pain I could deal with knowing that they were all safe.
"I told you I will always protect you." I smiled returning her hug. that's when I heard the others stir moving to see what was happening. When they finally noticed that I was awake and alive they ran over hugging me gently. I was happy to see them all safe.
"Frost how did you survive by the doctor's prediction we were to say our final good byes you wouldn't pull through." Twilight said trying to calm herself down.
"The only thing I can say is I couldn't die I have to much to do." I moved my arm feeling a sharp pain all across my back.
"I want to know what happened to your back it was like all the muscle was burned away they could see your spine and a few ribs." Pinkie pointed out I went back in the battle.
"Children, three children didn't evacuate I protected them..." I was trying to remember what they looked like. "Told them to give a message to Spike. He should know who they were." I heard a knock at the door. I turned to the door to see it open three children walked in escorted by a nurse.
"Sweetie Bell?" Rarity said confused
"AppleBloom?" Applejack said in the same manner.
"Scootaloo?" Rainbow joined in.
I smiled to the kids waving to them. "Mister, thank you for saving us." Applebloom said smiling all six of the women looked at me.
"No problem none of you were hurt were you?" I asked more concerned for them.
"No, thanks to you it was almost as awesome as Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo said with a cocky smile.
"You saved them?" Rainbow looked at me I only nodded. "So that's how..." I raised my hand stopping her.
"You didn't get hurt did you mister?" Sweetie Bell asked. I rubbed the back of my head.
"Nah I just had a nasty crash I'm alright." I was trying to make them not worry that I got hurt for them.
"Well I guess you are alright hope you get better mister." I waved to them as they left the room.
"Frost maybe a few of us misjudged you because of your past thank you for saving our sisters." Rarity said trying to not crush me with a hug.
The nurse came a little later tell everyone that visiting hours were over and they could come back tomorrow to see me. Rainbow was allowed to stay but only after begging the nurse. I layed in the bed staring at the ceiling knowing that I was going to be visited by a certain general tomorrow at the earliest. Sighing I slowly rolled over looking at Rainbow Dash sleeping in her chair holding my hand gently. I gave her hand a light squeeze smiling to her. Her eyes opened slowly looking at me with concern.
"You ok Frost?" She asked in a whisper I shook my head knowing I couldn't sleep. "What's wrong?" slowly I sat up looking at her.
"I couldn't protect you Rainbow why are you still here with me?" She looked at me annoyed. "Why do you want to stay with a man who can't protect you." Her hand collided across my face.
"I won't leave you Frost." She sighed. "Even if all you can do is save me at least you are willing to come to my rescue." She leaned close to me. "I know that you are loyal to me and that's all I want." She closed her eyes leaning closer to me. My eyes closed on instinct as I finally closed the gap kissing her gently. Even though the kiss was short lived it felt like a blissful eternity between Rainbow and myself. When we finally pulled apart we were both blushing something fierce.
"Thank you Rainbow for being there when I need you." I smiled to her. She wrapped her arms around me hugging me gently.
"Thank you for saving my life Frost." She said crawling into bed with me it didn't take long for sleep to finally take us away.
I wish my sleep could have lasted longer than it did. The door to my room was kicked in to the other side of the room. "MAJOR FROSTWING!" My mouth went dry and my blood went cold at hearing that voice. "WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET OFF ON MAKING A CODE: FROST!" General Thunderstrike bellowed walking into the room. Never in my life have I been afraid of death until I saw her. She walked right up to me grabbing me by my hospital clothes lifting me off the bed my body screamed in protest. "You know the consequences of making a code: Frost." I lowered my head nodding. I felt her fist collide with my chest it felt as if my body gave up on that single hit. she dropped me to the ground.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Rainbow asked fuming from the scene she just witnessed. I raised my hand to stop her before she did something.
"It's ok Rainbow." I wheezed slowly sitting up. "Because this hurts her more than me." I looked up smiling to Thunderstrike. "I can't remember the last time I saw you cry sister... This must hurt you so much knowing what that code entailed." She fell to her knees hugging me tightly.
"Don't scare me by sending out that message." She whispered through her tears. I returned the hug.
"What is code: Frost?" Rainbow asked my smile vanished.
"It was a code that belonged to my battalion. That code has only been used twice." I slowly stood. "The code stands for evacuate the closest towns... We are going to destroy our enemies." I clenched my fists. "You remember that Griffin rebellion a few years ago that suddenly ended?" I asked turning to Rainbow she nodded slowly.
"But I heard that the griffins were able to squash the rebellion... What really happened?" I smiled.
"The 9th battalion happened." Thunderstrike said calmly regaining her composure. "There were originally 12 members in the 9th battalion they lost half their members and since they had secrets that couldn't be let go each one of them that fell or were to be capture were to kill themselves." Her tone went dark.
"They had to commit suicide?" Rainbow was horrified at hearing this news.
"A warriors death... They died helping our allies even though it was said that they died in a different skirmish." I sighed heavily. "A cover up to preserve the griffin empire's image of power." I looked at Thunderstrike. "That's why she was so upset... That code means I will kill myself before I am captured but I would take a nice chunk of the area in the process. Aurora stones are highly unstable if you feed enough power into them which in turn will cause a huge explosion killing me and whatever happens to be in the surrounding area." I turned to see my A.W.G. sitting in the corner a wing was missing and an amplifier was cracked. "At least Serith didn't die she is still alive in there." I smiled.
"Atleast you didn't have to carry out The final part of the code." Thunderstrike said with a smile. "We have lost to many of our family anymore and moral is going to shatter." I chuckled at her.
"Moral in this outfit you couldn't break it no matter what you do." Rainbow watched us as if nothing had happened like I hadn't almost died a few weeks ago.
"Frost you have got to be the weirdest boyfriend I have ever had." I looked at her with mock hurt.
"I'm not weird I am just special." I crossed my arms and huffed. Thunderstrike chuckled.
"Anyway I came to debrief you on what happened and to see the extent of your injuries." I groaned loudly.
"The one thing I didn't miss about the service." I muttered which received me a swift hand across the back of my head.
Part 17: Awards And Penalties
A Simple Repair

I still wasn't cleared to leave the hospital but I was to show up at the castle to accept my award and to oversee the trial of Chrystalis. Putting on my coat over my body took some work but I had to be at least presentable to the Princess's. Rainbow opened the door seeing me struggle to lean over and tie my shoes. "Need some help Frost?" She asked smiling I nodded slowly as a reply.
She knelt down in front of me tying my shoes I felt so useless. "I don't see why I have to go to this award ceremony... No one wants to see me get an award." I stated looking down at my hands.
"Shut up Frost." I looked up seeing Rainbow in front of me smiling. "I want to see you get an award because it is a sign that you were willing to sacrifice everything to save us." She leaned in giving me a light peck on the lips I smiled to her.
"Thank you Rainbow." I slowly stood walking over to Serith lifting her up with a grunt.
"Frost are you sure you are able to walk to the castle?" Serith asked me I only smiled to her.
"Of course." I said looking at my self in the mirror I saw all the bandages I scowled dropping the coat off of my shoulders. I began to unwrap the bandages Rainbow stopped me.
"Frost you have to keep the bandages on." She said with concern. I shook my head smiling.
"Wounds are meant to be seen not hidden." I stated removing the last of the bandages my back still hadn't fully healed the skin hadn't fully covered a few of my ribs. "The only way wounds heal is with the help of others." I smiled to Rainbow. "You have taught me this lesson Rainbow so I am not afraid to show my pain to others." I picked up my coat setting it over my shoulders.
"You are an idiot sometimes Frost." She said blushing.
"But you wouldn't have me any other way." I replied. Lifting Serith I secured her to my back the wings moved slowly. "Lets go and get that award." I walked past Rainbow towards the castle knowing I was walking into an area where everyone hated me.
The train ride was slow and boring and most of all. A bump shook my entire system making me cringe in pain. "Stupid trains and their bumps and bounces." I muttered knowing my back was bleeding.
"You're not allowed to fly as of yet Frost doctor's orders." Rainbow said crossing her arms she looked annoyed. I sighed as the Train finally began to slow. "At least we are here." She stood up extending her hand to me. I hesitantly took it she helped me to my feet.
"Small blessings." I said smiling to her I looked back at the seat I was sitting on there was no blood on it. 'Good I didn't bleed through my coat.' I thought following behind Rainbow Dash.
As we walked through the streets I could feel the eyes of the people on me and Rainbow. "I feel like I'm here to be executed not to receive an award." I whispered to Rainbow. She looked at me confused.
"When was the last time you were in Canterlot?" She asked me now noticing the stares from the people so much hatred towards me. I didn't have to think back far for the answer.
"My trial." I quickened my pace towards the castle that's when I saw the crowd in front of the castle gates. "Great." I muttered as the crowd turned towards me an eerie silence filled the air as I approached. Walking past the crowd felt like walking through hell itself their stares bore right through me.
"Frost you going to be ok?" Rainbow whispered to me I only nodded as we entered the opening I saw both Princess's. I walked in front of both of them kneeling to them I felt a few of my wounds open in the process.
"Frostwing of Ponyville." Celestia began as a large boo emanated from the crowd words of hate were yelled at me as I continued to kneel in front of her. "We are here to honor your bravery of saving the lives of the elements of harmony... and the lives of three children." The crowd went silent as they heard this. "You're selfless actions caused you great pain but you saved their lives even if it meant your own life would end." I heard the guards move to stop someone who was yelling profanities towards me. "Guards please restrain him." Celestia said calmly. When her captain began to move a blade stopped right before his neck. Everything went silent as I slowly stood.
"Stop." I said turning towards the man who was causing problems I noticed he was the father of one of my old teammates I sheathed my blade slowly walking towards him. The guards watched as I walked up to him taking off my A.W.G. setting it on the ground. A strong gust of wind caught my coat ripping it off my body that's when there was a collective gasp from the crowd. "You want to hit me." I began staring right at the man he nodded which made me smile. "Princess I will allow this man to hit me." I glanced back at her only to see her smile gently she nodded her head. I turned back to the man.
"Frost what are you doing?" Rainbow asked me as the man's fist collided with my stomach I didn't move as he hit me again and again. Rainbow jumped it about to strike the man when my hand caught her fist.
"Rainbow let him get this out." I whispered to her smiling. That's when the man stopped swinging he collapsed to his knees sobbing.
"Why...? Why is it when I hit you I feel even worse?" I let go of Rainbow's hand kneeling down to the man. "I should be happy but I feel even worse." I placed my hand on his shoulder making him look up at me.
"Revenge is something none of us want it is only an emotion we use when something is taken from us but when we finally have it... It makes us feel worse than before." I smiled to him standing. "The only thing hate does is bring more hate." I turned back to Princess Celestia walking towards her kneeling. "I am sorry Princess." I sighed out. She only smiled to me placing a hand on my shoulder helping me to my feet.
"It is alright Frostwing." She said smiling. "You have redeemed your honor for being so forgiving to others and putting yourself in harms way to protect what's right." I smiled to her words bowing my head to her. "For this I award you the Celestial Cross of Valor." She levitated a medal to my chest pinning it to my coat. "Along with a new award." A light glowed in front of me it seemed as if a piece of ice solidified into a wing pinning to my chest. "The Frosted Wing of Bravery." I looked at the new medal smiling. "This medal symbolizes the unwavering bravery to sacrifice himself for the greater good of Equestria. To Selflessly take on impossible odds to protect what is right and protect the words of peace." Celestia's words echoed through the chamber as I knelt once again. "Continue to protect Frostwing and never let your resolve waver." She smiled gently at me.
"I swear on the dual crowns I will continue to protect Equestria from all harm." I said rising a fist over my heart. "As long as this body breathes and bleeds I will not stop until peace is restored." I bowed my head. "So Swear I." The crowd erupted in applause which brought a tear to my eye.
The award ceremony as a few of the civilians stayed for the trial I stood next to the Princesses awaiting the entry of The accused. Didn't take long Chrysalis entered the room chained to twenty guards her mouth had a mask over it. "Queen Chrysalis of the Changelings you stand on trial for crimes against the nation of Equestria." Celestia began as I glared at the queen her wing was missing along with her arm and horn. I smiled internally at the damage I dealt her. "Kidnapping the elements of Harmony along with conspiracy to over throw the throne." Celestia glared down at the fallen queen.
"It is only because you refuse to see things on our end we need to feed in order to survive yet you neglect us." Chrysalis yelled which resulted in every guard in the room pointing their spears at her. "We all used to be just like the rest of you until you cursed us with these forms." I remained stoic even though my hand clenched into fists so tight that my knuckles burned white.
"Silence." Celestia boomed which startled all in attendance I wanted nothing more than to end this wretched queen's life. "Your punishment has been decided you are to be banished to the bad lands where your kind will remain forever." I frowned at the punishment but knew it was for the best. "But if any of your kind is found in my kingdom again they will be executed on site." Celestia clapped her hands a light emitted from them as Chrysalis disappeared from site teleported away. "Court adjourned." She stood but was woozy almost falling down I caught her along with her sister. Luna and myself escorted Celestia back to her room afterwards I exited the castle to find Rainbow Dash.
"Frost." She said walking up to me it was nice to see her after all that had happened today. I walked up to her hugging her tightly. "Let's go home." She whispered which made me smile.
"Yes let's go home." I pulled away looking her in the eyes before I leaned back in placing a gentle kiss on her lips. We pulled apart to see the sun setting beautifully. "Beautiful." I whispered to her.
"Yea it is isn't it Frost." She whispered back.
I leaned in kissing her cheek. "I was talking about you." I said taking hold of her hand walking towards the train station to go back home...
Home it's a beautiful word isn't it...? I guess home is where you feel loved and safe. I finally found my home. With a loyal and beautiful girl name Rainbow Dash. Acceptance I found it and I will never let someone take that from me.

Part 4: The Forgiving Race
A Simple Repair

3 days after the agreement to the race.
I waited in my shop putting the Aura Amplifier into the default set of wings the stone was blue the weakest color of the amplifiers and the cheapest. "Yea I am gonna lose she is a faster flier than me... But fair is fair." I said calmly with a sigh. I saw my old military scarf I put it on smiling. "Well Frost let's go lose with a smile." I said to myself walking outside and flew slowly to City hall where the race would begin.
"FILLIES AND GENTLECOLTS!" A loudspeaker boomed as the crowd listened to what the rules for the race were. "We have a good race today our Captain of The Weather Patrol RAINBOW DASH VS. Ex Military officer MAJOR FROSTWING!" Everyone cheered at Rainbow's name but no one cheered for me I was used to it. "The Race will start here go to Fluttershy's cottage then to Sweet Apple Acres. Then through The Canyon Of Boulders and end when you cross the finish line back here." The announcer looked at both Rainbow and myself. "This will be a default A.W.G. race blue amplifiers only no leaving the course and no cheating." The announcer looked at me when he said cheating I was pissed at that but I would let it slide. "Alright. On your marks... Get set... GO!" He yelled as myself and Rainbow took off from the start line.
On the way to the cottage Rainbow pulled ahead of me and continued to gain ground. I was still injured from my crash but I would be damned if I was just gonna give her the win. I poured more power into the amplifier and rocketed forward. I passed her and continued my flight. There were two flags on top of the carriage one black and one cyan. I grabbed the black one and slammed into a tree feet first to slow myself. Which hurt but I need to make the turn as fast as possible. I launched off the tree continuing my lead but Rainbow was quickly gaining Sweet Apple Acres was the next checkpoint.
As we approached Sweet Apple Acres I felt something in the wings crack. The stress I was putting on them was higher than what they could handle if I wasn't careful I would lose one of the wings and lose this race. Rainbow passed me with ease as I slowed to give the wings a break she wasn't stopping for nothing. She grabbed her second flag and rocketed off towards the canyon I grabbed mine and continued my pursuit. I lost my concentration for a second through a turn and fell to the ground I rolled back to my feet and took off once again. Even though everything hurt I was still gonna try and win. I followed Rainbow through the apple trees I felt the tips of my wings skim a few branches but I continued to fly trying to catch up to her.
The last check point. Finally territory I knew like the back of my hand the maneuverability course. I saw Rainbow begin the track and I followed this was the longest leg and most dangerous of the course. I flew as fast as I could until I saw Rainbow she was rocketing through all of the course until her amplifier sparked and exploded she dropped like a lead weight I poured power into my own amplifiers and flew under her catching her just in time but I still hit the ground from the force of catching her. "Rainbow you ok?" I asked she groaned and sat up.
"Yea I'm fine I just got to continue to fly and win." She tried to take off but her other amplifier sparked and died. "What the hell is going on?" She asked she couldn't take off or fly anymore.
"Your fried the amplifiers you need new ones to continue the race." I said taking off my set of wings I traded wings with her. "Here my wings still work you take them and fly to the finish line I wasn't going to win anyway." I said with a smile. Rainbow smacked me across the face tossing the wings back at me.
"I don't want to win if you can't even race." She said angrily I just sighed.
"And I don't want to win your forgiveness if you had no chance of winning." I said coldly. "Now take my wings and go I would rather earn your forgiveness than it just be given to me." I strapped the wings on her back. "Now go and win so I can earn your respect." I said putting her broken wings on she took off without another word. I began the slow walk back to ponyville from the canyon.
By the time I got back the crowd had dispersed and I walked to see Rainbow and her friends waiting for me. "Well I lost fair and square." I said with a shrug. they all glared at me coldly.
"You gave up Frost you didn't lose." Twilight said coldly.
"You think we wouldn't notice you giving up your wings to Rainbow so she could win." A girl with Purple hair said calmly.
"I would rather earn her forgiveness then just take it." I said with another shrug. "And how would you guys know I gave up my wings to her?" I asked confused.
"There was a number engraved on Rainbow's A.W.G. it was the number 1." Twilight said calmly. "The wing's she is wearing has the number 46 engraved on them." She pushed up her glasses. "Why did you give up the race Frost?" She asked calmly.
"I am not a man who sees a cheap chance at a victory and takes it I gave up because if Rainbow lost and didn't come out of that canyon until later. One my victory would just be a hollow victory not even worth talking about. Two it would force Rainbow to forgive me which I don't want. And Finally three... I didn't deserve to win anyway." I said looking down. "No one wanted me to win. You heard the crowd at the beginning not a single cheer... Rainbow still wouldn't forgive me even if I did win... But what is done is done so I shall go home." I said setting down the A.G.W. and walked away. "Winning isn't everything Frost." I said to myself. I felt a hand on my shoulder I turned to see Rainbow.
"I still don't fully forgive you but you have taken a step in the right direction. Maybe you and I could I don't know go out to dinner sometime." She said trying to hide her blush. I chuckled at how cute she was.
"It's a date then." I said with a smile as I began the long walk back to my workshop.
