Chapter Four: Negligence is Harmony, Observation is pain

Dream world Luna POV

The magic of harmony takes on many forms, and many ways that expresses itself. From the Elements of Harmony themselves to the dream world that subconsciously connects all occupants of Equestria. Princess Luna had discovered this sometime into her and Celestina's reign. Through the dreams of ponies she had realized that they favored Celestia more than her. Before she became fully engrossed in the raving jealousy that was Nightmare Moon, she had dwelled into the dreams of other species; The griffons, the minotaurs, the changeling s(who at the time were bearable), the diamond dogs and the proginer of them and the hyenas, Ade the Slaughtered.

            When it came to the first three it was quite simple. They dreamt of great success, overcoming an obstacle nothing truly outrageous, even just falling in love was the simple agenda that plagued and infested their minds. On the other hoof Ade and his offspring were much more complicated. The diamond dogs dream of vast wealth. And while dreaming of gaining riches was not necessarily bad, there dreams went into great detail of how. Digging, stealing, forced labor, selling another life they did not care as long as the gems,gold,and whatever else they desired was within there grasp they tended to not care of the outcome. What Luna could honestly say was there best feature was there obedience, loyalty, and kindness.

Considering what was said about them before this may almost seem contradictory. But the diamond dogs that came of Ade's own loins cared deeply for there mothers. These diamond dogs forced the other crystal ponies to work twice as hard to compensate the work ethic to assure Sombra never new they allowed there mothers rest,food, and care from there fathers abuses.

The hyenas(though Luna had only went into the dreams of the first couple of them before being banished) were much more difficult and much more disturbing than there cousins\siblings the diamond dogs. The best example would be the offspring of Ade and the changeling Queen Narssisa, princess blind shade. Born directly through natural birth, Blind Shade was a big surprise to the queen. Birthed with smokey gray fur, luminous blue spots and eerie yellow eyes she(surprisingly) was the queens pride and joy. Born with the ability to create an almost unholy attraction she lead colts ,mares,minotaurs,griffons, and even dragons back too the hive to be fed upon for the lust her victims gave off for her.

Though what surprised most was her ability(and would be the ability of most other hyenas) to feed off darker emotions. Fear,anguish, anger, despair these were her favorite. Her dreams were laced with the wailing and angry cries of her victims, deep within the hive, she relished these moments. When she was older and  what could be a legitimate air was born Shade left the hive to start her own kingdom and from what she understands it rivels the griffon kingdom though they tend to keep to themselves.

The most horrific dreams without a single doubt was Ade himself. His dream world scared  her.

Flashback

There was a large full moon in his dream realm, but it gave off no light. There weren't even any stars. Just utter blackness, the ground from what Luna could tell was dead long grass, crunching under hoof as she cantered through that single eon ago. Flesh riddled bones littered the ground making patterns, symbols perhaps. Luna was forbidden to look into his mind after he was given his punishment.  She had to though, Queen Narssisa had sent her a letter that his dreams that should have been having, dreams that were to reeducate him on friendship and harmony, his bracelet made From the Ounce of magic of honesty, and kindness had done something to him. They had broken him, Ade was little more than a raving lunatic for the past few months even having to seal him in a chrysalis to keep him from butchering more of her subjects.

Digging deeper into his mind, Luna crossed strange blood laden rivers, and black sand deserts all of which she could not recognize from any place in Equestria. Chills ran up her spine.  Before was a heart an unhealthy dark purple, sprinkled Over with black dots of varying sizes all over. Holes decorated the chambers.

Wrapped around it like the bandages were thorn covered vines, the thorns ripping and Tearing into the heart. A large gash faced Luna, spewing a nasty gray liquid from the side. Standing behind  the heart was Ade he glared venomously. Luna got into a  defensive stance horn radiating power. Ade bared his fangs and lunged forward, to Luna's great surprise and horror Ade was attacking the hearts, biting,gnashing, and shredding the heart.

The barbs on the vines ripped and poked into Ade maw mixing the blood in his mouth with the gray fluid of the heart. Final great pained, labored breathing Ade surveyed his work. Lifting his head his eyes met Luna's and to her great surprise smiled a big contented smile, then fell over,collapsed. The world began to fade and dim and altogether disappeared. Luna found herself back in the cosmic corridor of the dream world. Disturbed and saddened  Luna woke herself up confused on what happened.

It wasn't till a few hours later when a message from Queen Narssisa arrive did she understand what happen. It simply read:

he's dead

He had killed himself. And she had witnessed it. She cried.

End Flashback

So Luna stood here, now whiting the cosmic corridor staring down an unusual door it was decayed, the wood splintered, the door knob broken and rustic, yet eerie purple chains covered it, and it would not open.she needed to figure out how to open it. the last time a door like this decided to open the occupent had killed himself.

What was she to do?

Oberus POV

Obe's body felt stiffer than it should be, the hurt centered around his left ribs where the manticore had stabbed repeatedly with its tail. Shifting a paw over the wound, finding it bandaged, now that he thought about it, this wasn't his bed. The heck Was he? Rolling over to his side, wincing as he put Pressure on the wound. Putting a paw down to the floor,then the other Oberus's pulled himself off the bed nearing the edge of the bed  Obe  tried placing a hind leg down to the floor, unable to take his the left slipped from under him planting him into the floor with a loud yelp. He was about try try and pull himself up until he was greeted with a gracefully soft

"Oh...my" lifting his head, Oberus was greeted to the sight of a pastel yellow Pegasus made with light pink mane and tail. Her soft eyes stared at his confused ones. Oberus's eyes narrowed, the unknown mare flinched.

"Who in haydes are you?" The mare shuffled her hoof front to back nervously.

"M-my name is fluttershy" she said her voice almost slipping into the inaudible.

"Fluttershy?" Obe questioned checking to see if he heard right. She nodded.

" well thanks for the help fluttershy, I'll be gone now" shakily getting to his fours Obe began limping to the stairs. His right trying to support most of his weight.

"WAIT!" Obe stumbled the new volume surprising him, torquing to face the pastel mare, tripping over his left sent Oberus tumbling down the stairs. A startled "eep" from fluttershy was the last coherent thing he heard as his ears were overloaded with the sounds of bangs and bumps as his body hit the stairs. The pain in his side increasing as as his body curled and bent. Rolling off the stairs Oberus hit the floor still spinning to Celestia knows where. The sound of a tumbling lock, the opening of a door, and the call of "hey Fluttershy" was the only warning he got when he slammed into another mass. Stars sparked his vision, pain wracked his body. On the upside he felt his body pressing into another so somehow this wasn't all bad. Dashing the stars from his vision he leaned his body upward ( his body pressing more into the other) then tossed himself to the side. Right onto the wounded side. Seething heavily he turned his head to the right trying to see who he had accidentally dry humped. His interest peaked when he saw the lavender coat and horn. 'A unicorn' he mused silently. He could feel her embarrassment, over being tackled out the door or being dry humped he didn't know.

" Well..." He started. "This was a rather awkward" Oberus supplied. The unicorn scrambled to her hoofs dusting off small patches of dirt.

"Hehe..." She laughed nervously "...right." She straighten up a confident look appeared to settle on her face. Bringing a soft smile to her face she introduced herself. " Hello my name is Twilight  Sparkle, number 1# student and protégé to Princess Celestia" she stuck out her right hoof an inviting smile gracing her face. bring up his left paw he grabbed and shook the hoof. Twilight frowned slightly both at the fact he had kept his braceleted paw down but also seem like this meeting bugged him.

" so your friends with the Pegasus upstairs" he said pointing a chin in that direct. Twilight seemed stunned almost like she just remembered a thought.

"Oh right, Princess Celestia is waiting at my library to meet you I was supposed to come see if you could make it there, and also get my friends" she suddenly rushed past him and into the cottage. Sitting back on hit haunches Oberus looked ready to rip some things head off which he probable would have. He pondered going into the cottage and tearing both of the mares throats out. He quickly tossed the idea the unicorn, Twilight was Celestia student and would care more than usual about her death. Oberus started to feel small amounts of pressure on his paw, looking down he came face to face with a  snow white rabbit glaring daggers at him. Grinning viciously show off all of his teeth, an unnatural glee filling his eyes.

" Oh look my midmorning snack has delivered itself to me". Shrieking the rabbit fled living behind  a dusty smoke cloud. Oberus elation was short lived as he remembered that he was about to see Princess Celestia. His grin transformed into a scowl.

" this life sucks"
