A Diamond Heart
“It’s the most beautiful ruby I’ve ever seen!” Rarity managed to get out before breaking down and bawling her eyes out. Spike had given her a ruby in the shape of a heart. It sparkled like a diamond twice over.
Spike quickly rushed to her side and gave her a loving hug and said, with a panicked tone, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you cry!”
“Spikey-wikey, you’re so silly.” Rarity said sniffling and regaining herself. “I was crying because I love it so much! I’ll wear it all the time. Infact…” Rarity said trailing off and walking over to the vanity and using magic to pull a chain out of a drawer. Rarity used magic to pull her glasses out of what seemed like thin air. Rarity, glasses on, squinted to interloop the chain with the ruby. Rarity flipped her hair for the mirror and said, “I look absolutely stunning! I mean, it’s magnificent! I love it! Darling, come here!” After having a look at herself in the mirror Rarity ran over to Spike picked him up with magic and spun around with him, then gave him a big hug and a peck on the cheek.
Spike, embarrassed and smiling with a blush, gulped in some air and finally asked the fabulous pony a question he’s been trying to ask her ever since he first saw her, “Will you be my very special somepony?” After asking this he realized what he had done, and hid his face hoping not to get yelled at.
Rarity was absolutely speechless. Even if she tried she wouldn’t be able to say anything. Awkward silence fell over them. Rarity tried to think but nothing happened. “I...I…” Rarity stuttered. “Spike!!! I’ve waited so long for you to ask me! I’m a lady so of course I wouldn’t throw myself on to you. I’m a proper mare.” Rarity said with her usual dramatic tone. Spike rolled his eyes with a sigh of relief. Rarity chuckled at that adorable roll of Spike’s eyes. “Spikey-wikey, why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Rarity said in a whiney, playful, and even loving tone.
“I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I just didn’t have the courage. I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.” Spike said tenderly with love in his voice.
“It’s okay darling. Now, how are we going tell the others?” Rarity asked with a burning curiosity.
“I have no idea. Usually I would ask Twilight, but since I can’t exactly do that we’ll have to figure this one out for ourselves.” Spike said, upset that he needed Twilight this much.

It was sunset and Spike, not wanting Twilight to worry, went to the Library to tell her he was researching something, and was spending the night at Rarity’s. Twilight, being the very smart mare she was, gave him a sleeping bag, a backpack, and a journal with a pencil. Twilight asked him on his way out to bring her back a very rare baby blue sapphire because she was conducting an experiment on if electricity flows through rare gemstones. Spike had his mind on Rarity more than anything, but he took note to get Twilight her gem because even though he’s in love he still is Twilight’s number one assistant.

When Spike got back to the Boutique nighttime had fallen and he was greeted by Rarity, Sweetie Belle, and a dinner fit for royalty. “Oh, man! Something to eat!” Spike said very enthusiastically. Spike hadn’t eaten since lunch, and since he was growing, he was starving. Spike and Sweetie Belle chowed down while Rarity ate like the proper mare she was. For dessert Spike had a nice, big, juicy emerald gemstone. Sweetie Belle was so tired from crusading for her cutie mark all day that after she cleaned up her spot she went upstairs and went straight to sleep.
After the couple was sure that the little filly went to sleep they cleaned up the table, then hugged. Spike was the one to take the risk this time by kissing Rarity on the cheek and then blushing. Rarity’s heart soared as she did the same.
“Want to cuddle until we fall asleep?” Rarity said with an unusually amount of eagerness. “I-I mean ready for bed, darling?” Rarity stuttered trying to cover up her big secret.
Spike blushed and replied, “That would be great!”
Rarity was the first to get into the queen sized bed with the very soft mattress and the lavender canopy. Spike followed the beautiful white mare with the sapphire blue eyes and purple mane. Rarity threw her front left hoof over Spike’s side, pulled him in tightly, and cuddled him until she felt like she couldn’t hold him anymore without suffocating him. Spike felt a rush of joy, but it quickly faded away as so did his vision and his hearing; as he drifted away off to sleep.

"A picnic? That doesn't require dirt does it? I just had my hooves done!" Rarity said in a whiney tone like her usual overly dramatic self.
"Aw c'mon, it'll be fun!" Spike pleaded.
Rarity could not bring herself to say no to that adorable baby dragon. "Alright darling, but only for my Spikey-wikey" She said in a loving tone. Strange, she felt weird for saying he is her's, but they had only been dating for a day. It was to be expected. That question is still in the back of her mind, "what will the others think?"
Rarity snaps out of her daydream when Spike asks, "Are you ready?" He had everything already packed no wonder Twilight loved his help around the library even though everypony knows full well that Twilight could do it all by herself if she had too.
As they walked to the place were skies are open, the grass is green, and the thing keeping the place alive, the apple trees. They were going to Sweet Apple Acres.
They finally got there and had their romantic picnic. When they were walking back they passed through the apple trees they stopped at tree almost dead center of the forest, and carved their initials with a heart around them.
"Want to have some fun when we get back to the Boutique?" Rarity said in a seductive and tantalizing voice.
Spike blushed so much his whole face must have been red. "I...I..." He stuttered trying to speak but nothing happened. He was speechless he didn't know what to say.
"We could play a game or cuddle on the bed." Rarity said in a joyful, loving, and caring tone. "What did you think we were going to do?" She asked realizing he was blushing up a storm.
"Cuddling sounds great!" Spike replied with enthusiasm. I can't believe I have such a dirty mind! He thought to himself.
As they kept walking they walked past Applejack and Rainbow Dash who were having a friendly chat as they walked the other way.

They had settled down on the bed and were cuddling when Rarity couldn't keep it a secret any longer, or at least not from her lover, "I'm not always a 'lady'. I'm also capable of fun and rough play like Applejack or Rainbow Dash. Please don't hate me Spikey-wikey."
"Why would I hate you for that?" Spike said confused. "If anything that just makes you even more fun to have as my very special somepony." He said love filling his voice. "I could never hate you..." He said tenderly as he drifted off to sleep.
"Thank you Spikey-wikey. I love you..." Rarity said, with so much love you could cut it with a knife. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
