Chapters Connor was walking towards the forest in hopes of finding some game. He was running out of food and funnding. Connor had, had his eye on a new sword. as soon as hewas in the forest, he began to spot signs of game. He set a rope trap at a bush rabbits apeared to have been feeding on. " Now to begin the real time consumeing part . . . tracking down a deer.",He said to no one inparticular and whithout much enthusiasm in his deep voice.
Clad in his normal assasin white garments, which had red and blue accents and an abnormaly large hood. The hood had an eagle pattern on a sharp point that was the tip of the hood. It also was really deep so that it hid is eyes and other facial features, so that you couldn't tell who he really was.
Looking around he noticed the usual signs. Nibbled bush here tracks there. The same as always. Connor began to follow the trackes.Good thing I'm good at what I do. What i do being hunting and killing Templars. He thought as he noticed the tracks and markings were getting more and more frequent and fresher. Showing the herd was getting readdy to bed down for the night. "Good.",he said in barley more than a whisper.
A few hours later, just as the sun began to set, he cold begin to see the herd. Conner climbed a tree and moving like a monkey from branch to branch. Silent as his shadow, he came above the herd. His target: a doe by the edge of the herd.
closing in on the doe he unsheethed his hiden blades whith a *shhhink*. Connor unlocked the right blade. he retrackted his left blade. Clasping the right blade in both hands he stedied himself to jump in the span of a few seconds. He drew back his hood to see better. Then he lept.
Five feet from the ground, a flash of light brighter than the sun apeared as he was falling towards the deer. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH", Connor couldn't help but yell as he fell through the portal-thing.
Unable to alter his fall due to some sort of paralisis. He landed head first in a field of grass knocking himself out. Connor's subconsious mind was going crazy. What just happend? How did it happen? Where am I? The three thoghts reapted over and over again. Unable to stop.
Some time later he gained conciosness to what sounded like uninteigable muttering. "Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggh, my head!!" , he exclaimed, refusing to open his eyes. A colective gasp sounded at his words. Sounds like five or six people, might have a fight on my hands. He thought. slowly he started to understand the uninteligible garble.
"Is it okay?", a quiet, nervous voice asked
"You heard what it said, 'uuuugh, my head!'. Do you think it's okay Fluttershy?!?", a second voice said louder and lower than the first voice.
"What is it? That's my question.", a third voice ponderd. This person sounds like a scholar. Connor thought
"How long has it been scince you found it sugarcube?", came a voice that sounded like it came from somewhere in the southern colonies.
"I found it a few hours ago. I tried feeding it some sugar to see what happen. It wouldn't take it, it would just batt my hoof away when it got close to its mouth.", a rather hyper fith voice replied.
"Its choice of clothing is rather fasionable, excluding all the dirt and mud from the fall.", chimed in a sixth voice that to Connor sounded like a plantation owner. They're all girls or women. I can't really tell. Connor thought to himself.
"Wait, wait- " "Uuung" "I think it's coming 'round! Hush now!!", the third voice said as he groaned in pain.
Connor opened his eyes to find everything blurred. After sevral seconds of blinking and no change, he just closed his eyes and sighed. " Dude you okay?", the second voice asked Connor.
"My vision is blurred, so, you know, I can't see. By the way, where's my knife?", he asked the unknown girls/ women.
"Here you go, sugarcube", said the southerner voice, as she droped the blade of his hidden blade on his chest. " May I ask what you use it for?"
"Sorry but no. I'm going to try looking. Any advice on the subject of that?" Connor asked not sure of what he would hear, but thought he could try his luck.
"Um, well actualy yes. Just cover your eyes. Good-", the quiet one said as he coverd his eyes " now open your eyes whithout uncovering them", he obliged, doing just as she said. "Alright now slowly un cover your eyes, slowly. yes, that's good."
"Huh ", he gasped i suprise. Laying on his back staring at the six people who just helped him. though they weren't really people it seemed. What he was staring at weren't people they were . . . "PONYS?!?!", he couldent help but bursting out in surprise.
"Yea, but we should ask you what you are, buster!!", a cyan blue pony with a rainbow colored mane.
"My name is Connor. I am a human being. Now, how did I get here and who are you all?", Connor asked the ponies. "better question, what are?"
"I'm Twilight Sparkle, and Connor was it, what do you mean?" Twilight asked in slight confusion.
"Where I'm from, horses are two times your size and no ... horns and wings. I ask again, what are you?" Connor asked, his curiosity flaring.
"Well you already know me, but i'm a bit of everything. That's Applejack.", she pointed at the southern sounding one.
"Howdy, I'm an earth pony and proud owner of sweet apple acres!", the one called Applejack exclaimed. "call me A.J.."
"I'm Pinkie Pie, also an earth pony. I make sweets t sugarcube corner! I also throw the best parties in Equestria! WHE-EN you're looking kind o-",she was interrupted by a blue flash that zipped over and covered the mouth of the pink pony.
"Please,NO singing Pinkie, I'm Rainbow Dash by the way. My job here is to manage the pegsi that manage the weather. If you haven't noticed I'm a Pegasus pony", Rainbow Dash said flapping her wings.
"I'm Rarity, a unicorn. We unicorns use magic, side note. Any way I run Carousal Boutique, I'm a fasion disigner.", explained Rarity.
"What about you? Yes, you trying to hide behind miss Sparkle.", Connor addressed the one hiding behind Twilight Sparkle. "Er, Fluttershy, was it?" he asked while sitting up and re-locking his hidden blade into place.
"EEP", she squeaked. "how did you you know my name? Is it some human mind-magic?", her eyes becoming huger-er than normal in fear.
"No, I heard miss Dash say your name. Now what do you do here miss Shy", he asked gently while standing up and brushing himself off as he watch her.
"oh, um, well I'm Fluttershy- one word or, um, name. I'm the caretaker o-of most of the animals and creatures here. Which I s-suppose that sounds pretty l-lame to you c-compared to the others jobs.", she stammered. Her light pink mane covering her eyes as she looked, and pawed at, the ground.
"Not at all I was always pretty good with domestic animals. Like dogs, cats, pigs, goats, chickens and turkeys. But not much else. For allot of other animals I had to kill or be killed. This list is shorter. Let's see I have, or had, wolves attack me every other week or so. The rest of the list was lets see, bear, male elk, mountain lions the like. Being a human-", Connor was interrupted by a shriek.
"OH MY CELESTIA, IT'S A HUMAN.",a mint green unicorn with a green-ish white-ish mane screamed. "When did it get here? How did it get here? Is it male or female? Why is it dressed like that? How come-", she started spewing questions faster than a fountain spews water. That is until twilight stuffed her hoof in the other mares mouth.
"Connor this-", she gestured to the mare "-is lyra. She's our ... er ... human enthusiast. You see your kind are sort of ...", she struggled to find the right words "a ... well myth or legend here. you are- probably- the first human to be sighted for, well, centuries.", Twilight took a breath and let it out in a sigh. "Okay, Lyra hold your questions until later. I believe Connor still has a few questions left. lets go to, hmm I think Rarity's house is closest, lets go there."
Connor watched the whole thing in silence. They began walkingout of the field which Connor recognized. This a park. Interesting, I wonder what they actually do here. He thought with interest.
standing at his full height he was 5' 5" aka a good two and a half feet taller than most of them. As they walked into town Connor noticed the stares they were attracting from the other colorful ponies. I should prepare myself for an attack. He thought as he pulled out one of his rope-darts.
one of his favorite mid-distance tools/weapons. The rope darts were a three and a half inch long, two milimeter wide darts attached to a rope. You threw it into peoples arms or legs, yank back and they fall giving you time to ' dispatch ' them. Connor used them to great effect.
"Here we are!!", the one called Rarity called, in a sing-song voice, as they approached a two story cylinder. The second story was smaller than the first.
"Okay Connor, let's get to answering those questions. First how many questions do you have, so we can get a sense of how long this will take.", Twilight asked when every one was sitting down.
"Not many. Just two for now. One major, one minor. The minor being: what are those things on your ... er, flanks?", he said gesturing to the BUTT erflies on Fluttershy's flank.
"These"- Twilight pointed to her own butt mark (stars) "are our cutie marks. they develop as we grow. A cutie mark shows a mare's or stallion's special talent. My special talent is magic." She demonstrated by summoning a pie for Connor out of nowhere. The pie was blue berry.
"Now for the major question. *sigh* How... how did I even get here?" he poped the big question.
"Well, we should let Pinkie Pie explain. Yes, I know this seems like a bad idea.", she said as she the look her friends gave her. "Did you guys remember she was the only one to have seen what happened there? Hmm did ya?", she asked before turning towards Pinkie Pie. "We need you to be very serious. You hear me Pinkie, be serious for Connors sake."
"I'll try to bee serious.", she sighed and the smile slid off her face. "Okay, it all started this morning.
I was walking towards the park to play with gummy, when all of the sudden. There was a flash of light bright as the sun Celestia rises. It pulsed a few times. It was about, uummm, six feet off the ground. Something, that thing being you Connor, fell through this portal -thing -amajig. You fell face first through. You got knocked out. I ran and got the girls, and well you know the rest.", her huge smile returning as soon as she finished explaining the situation.
"Sooo...In other words, you don't know. Well... I guess it's Lyra's turn.", Connor said watching the mares reaction. She listened to the story, but as soon as he said that her face visibly brightend
"Oh, well. Where to start, where to start? I know!! What do you use your hands for?", she asked staring at him intently. Lyra was shivering with excitement.
"Pretty much everything."
"What...um what's the word...what's your gender?", the mare asked.
"Male"
"What do you eat? You know like flowers, grass, bread the likes.", came the next question. She was staring at him intently. She was starting to shiver with excitement.
"Let's see... when out on missions it's generally bread and cheese. My preferred food at most any other time being meat.", Connor answered.
His answer gained him an enraged stare from Fluttershy. The others gasped (excluding Lyra). Lyra simply nodded at the statement, nothing bt a flash of suprise only flashed briefly across his face. "Connor, we don't eat meat here. So if you want some meat you'll have to go beyond Ponyville into the Everfree Forest.
"Now for the next question. You said 'when I'm out on missions'. What missions were you talking about?", Lyra asked next.
"You mustn't tell others about this. There are two different wars raging back home. One is rather recent, between two nations. The United States and Great Britain called the Great Revolution. America or the U.S. wants freedom from Great Britain. Americas leader or general ,George Washington,sends me on missions to help them.
The other war is a secret war. A war that has been raging for centuries between two... er, factions or groups. My faction is or was the Brotherhood . A single person or attacker from us is called an assassin. All assassins are trained for several years before being sent into the world to hunt the others, but I'll get to that later. A single assassin can effectively 'take out' at LEAST three Templar leaders. That's all good and well, just one problem. So far as I know me, and my mentor are all that's left or at least until we build up our numbers again.
"Now for the other faction.", Connor stopped and began taking deep breaths. Connor started again after a long pause. "The Knight's Templar. We, that is the Assassins, are not really sure why they want control. They have more people but they are less trained. The leaders are the ones that are really trained.
"The difference between assassins, generally speaking, they really only take people from families within the brotherhood. Templar's seem willing to take anyone who want 'control'.", Connor finished explaining with a sigh of breath. "Next question?"
"So your mother and father were assassins?", she asked. Oh god that question. Why that question. Connor thought after she asked the question.
"My father -", He spat the word with enough venom in his voice he made everypony flinch. "-was hard to explain so I'll save that until later. My mother was not. She was a Native American. As was I for most all of my childhood. Then the Templar's burned my village to the ground. And m-my m-mother along w-with it.", he choked out the last part as a tear of anger and sadness rolled down his cheek. Fluttershy tried to comfort him but he just shrugged off the hoof she put on his shoulder.
After a minute or so of silence he began talking again. "My father, my father, my father. He was an assassin for a time. Then- I don't know why -he became a Templar.... I .... I had to kill him.", at his words there was a collective gasp from the ponies. "I DIDN'T WANT TO KILL HIM!!! I ... had ... to kill him.", he shouted.
Everypony remained silent. That is until Applejack decided to break the silence. "It must'a been hard for you. Would you like to talk about it?", the mare asked gently as she could.
Connor shook his head "no", then that put the end to that.
"I think we we should all go home now and, well get some sleep", Rarity said looking outside at the sun. At her words everyone realized just how long it had been. Outside the sun was setting and the streets were almost empty.
"You got a place ta' sleep tonight sugarcube?", Applejack asked Connor " 'Cause if you don't you're welcome to sleep in our barn."
"I was just planning to sleep in a tree or something." he said, reluctant to put his trust in people- pony - he just met.
"We won't hurt you. I know secret war and let me guess. Trust issues?", Fluttershy asked Connor seeing his reluctance.
"Alright I guess I'll take the barn.", he chose to ignore the question. She read me like a book.
"Well then follow me sugarcube", Applejack said.
ch. 4 sweet apple acres(Edited)
AJ and Connor were walking down a gravel path towards a huge orchard of apple trees. We came up to a small wooden arch and some fences. Behind the fence was the orchard. "Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres, Connor. Feel free to to try our fruit.", she said pointing a hoof at the trees.
Connor walked up to a tree and pulled a bright red apple from a random tree. Might as well try it he thought as he took a bight of the apple. Some juices down his chin as he exclaimed "These -" he paused for effect "are delicious."
"Well shoot, thanks mister Connor! That reminds me, what is your last name?", Applejack asked Connor curiously.
*sigh* "I don't have one. It's complicated, don't ask.", he answered slightly sullenly. She stopped walking but Connor didn't notice until he was several feet ahead of the mare.
When he noticed she wasn't following he turned around and asked "What?"
"Ya don 'ave a last name? Why?", Applejack asked, confusion evident on her face.
"My mothers culture never really gave family names. My…fathers name, well I disowned it. I suppose you can use his name, Kenway. His name was Hathem Kenway.", he explained. They began their long walk again.
"Applejack, Applejack where are you?", a new voice called out. It sounds like a child. I should better be safe than sorry he thought before bolting into an apple tree.
A small figure appeared a little distance away. "Applejack! There you are.", the little one said as (if the voice was anything to go on) as she ran up to AJ. "Where have ya'll been? Ah was lookin' for ya'll all day."
"Well Ah'm sorry Applebloom. Ah had business to deal with in town. By the way ah 'ave somepony... for you... ta... meet.", she trailed off as she saw he was no longer behind her.
"Who is it Applejack? Who is it?", the newcomer asked.
"Just a second, Applebloom. Where d'ja go? Connor, get out your flank out here, NOW!", she called out to Connor but he didn't move an inch.
"Who's ... er, I believe it was, Applebloom?", he asked from in the tree.
"Applebloom is ma' baby sister. She's part of the Cutie mark Crusaders or CMC for short.", she said trying to locate Connors voice among the trees. "She's jus' a filly, she ain't gonna hurt ya."
"If your old enough to wield a musket you can hurt just about anyone.", Connor retorted.
"Ah jus' come down from whatever tree ya'll are in, will ya."
He jumped out of the tree he was in. Connor rolled to dissipate his momentum (it is momentum right?). He walked up to the mare and filly. "Hello Applebloom, my name is Connor." He held out his hand/hoof shake. Applebloom looked at it nervously before giving in and shaking the extended hand.
"Mister, if ya don't mind me asking, wha' are ya?", she asked Connor.
"A human, now no more questions. I just answered a bunch of Lyra's questions and I just wish to get some sleep", Connor cut her off before she could start up another twenty question session with him.
After the little encounter they began walking in silence. A few minutes later a large red barn came into view. "Ah hope this is okay. T'aint the worst barn in Equestria. Don' mean it ain't still a barn though."
"This will be fine. I've slept in worse situations, generally out in the wilderness up a tree. I'll see you in the morning.", Connor replied. He walked into the barn and looked around.
It was a cozy little barn a few stables filled with hay. A hay loft filled, guess what? IT WAS FILLED WITH HAY.
"Applejack what's with all the hay?"
"Ah don' really know."
"Well, I'm gonna get some sleep. I suggest you do the same."
"Well do ya need anythang? A blanket, pillow or cot ta sleep on?"
"No I will be fine. I am going to stay in the hay loft"
"How ya gonna get up thar Mr. Connor?", Applebloom cut in.
"Like this.", was his simple reply.
A quick scan of the barn showed several hand and foot holds. He ran at the wall directly to the right. When he got to the wall he ran up three steps and grabbed a small ledge. A glance behind him showed a support beam, he jumped and spun midair and grabbed a beam attached to the other supports and pulled himself onto it and crouched to help keep is balance. He walked along the ledge till he got to another support. Connor grabbed it and stepped around the beam then jogged to the end of the beam towards a cylindrical bar hanging from the ceiling. He jumped and reached out and grasped the pole (No Homo *NH*) and with his forward momentum swung forward let go and flung himself towards the hay loft but he couldn't quite land it so he grabbed the edge of it and pulled himself up.
He turned to the ponies still on the ground staring in aww.
"You should get some sleep. I'm off to sleep."
They turned and walked away talking. Most likely talking about his skill.
Connor pulled off his weapons and gave them the once over to make sure there was no rust and they were sharp enough to cut. Then did some stretches and put his hidden blade on. Finally slowly began taking off his knee high leather boots.
{5 minutes later}
He finally lay down and fell into a shallow yet restful sleep.

When Twilight got back home she wanted nothing more than to curl up in a small little ball and sleep and sleep and sleep until the morn but there were other things she had to do first. "Spike, you still awake?" she called out. After a moment of silence, the skittering of claws could be heard coming down the stairs. A purple baby dragon appeared at the bottom of the stairs.
"Hiya Twi how was Pinkie's 'crazy super-dy duper-dy legen -wait for it- dary stunningly *pant pant* cramazing discovery'", Spike questioned.
"Well I need you to take a letter to Princess Celestia on the subject please."
"Ummmmm Twilight you said that as a statement but the 'please' made it sound like a question", Spike giggled. *Smack*. He was hit in the face with a blank scroll. Twilight levitated a quill and ink to her number one assistant. "Just take the letter. Mare tries to be polite and this is what she gets." she muttered.
Canterlot Castle
Celestia had just finished lowering the sun when a gust of glittering green and gray smoke blew in through a window. It curled and condensed into a scroll with Twilight's cutie mark stamped into the wax seal. Hmm I wonder what my faithful ex-student could want she thought as she opened the scroll. "Let's see . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . .. .." When she finished reading a huge smile spread across he face.
Celestia turned around and sprinted to the throne room before her sister, Luna, could start night court. She slowed to a stop before she turned the corner into the hall that led to the throne room. She turned the corner and walked up to the the thestrals that were guarding the door. "Ma'am." She replied with a curt nod and waited until they opened the door.
"Welcome to night court how -" Luna started to say before she noticed to look on her sisters face. "Sister why art thou so ... elated." Celestia levitated the scroll to her sister.
Dear Princess,
There was a disturbance in Prancing Park this morning. Pinkie Pie was, I think she said she was walking Gummy or some thing, it's so hard to tell with that mare sometimes. Seriously some of what she says has no relevance to anything and I had better stop before I go full lecture, you never wanna see me go full lecture. As I was saying Pinkie was doing . . . whatever this morning in the park when she saw a bright light and a, as Lyra Heatstrings called him,human fall out and he got knocked out. The human is male and I'm not at liberty to tell you his past. Back on track his name is Connor and he's an assassin. I don't know what to do. Is he dangerous? Not to us, I don't think anyway. I think it would be best if you came and met him so HE can explain. It feels so good to invite you to Ponyville. So whenever you can spare a day or so, I would like you to come meet him.

"Does this mean what we think It means?" Luna inquired.
"Well for the must part yes, yes it does." Her grin, if it was even possible, grew wider. "The spell worked." Celestia was dive hugged by Luna and she fell down with a 'EEEP'. Just then one of the guards walked in.
"Princess Luna, are you ready to start night- court." He looked down at the princesses and suddenly his face decided to do it's best impression of a tomato. The Luna was in A very compromising position on top of Celestia and by on top I mean her face was buried in celestia's crotch. "Ummmmm. D- do y-y-y-you n-need a minute."
"No, no tis quite alright. Just give us a a minute before thou sends anypony in", she said before standing up and returning to her throne. "Hem hem . . . Ummm That, uhhh that never happened. . . Agreed?"
"Y-Yeah we agree. Why don't you go reply to Twilight?" Luna suggested.
"Okay"

*BURP* "Twilight! Reply's here!" Spike yelled up at twilight.
She trotted downstairs. "Ah thank you, now time for bed. After all a little dragon needs his sleep." She floated Spike and the letter upstairs in her magic. five minutes later, when Spike was finally asleep, Twilight opened the letter.
Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I think I will come to see this Connor. I will be there on the morrow at, say twelve thirty- ish. I don't doubt that it is he is dangerous but that is to be expected, he is an assassin. I have just been informed that Luna says hi and she will be accompanying me on this venture. Do not worry yourself one bit about the courts (Night and Day). There are never any important issues just nobles trying to squirm their way into more money. So I will be there tomorrow around twelve thirty or so.

She had no idea how wrong the correctly wrong answer was correct making it wrong witch just solidify the correctness of it. But if that's wright than what will happen to our dawg Connor. Oh this is wrong on so many levels.
