It has been 9 years since the event at The Crystal Empire. 9 Years since Twilight last saw her brother. 9 years since she became a princess. However, the discovery of the frozen body of the malicious Unicorn, King Sombra, happened yesterday.

Princess Celestia sends Twilight a letter asking Twilight and her friends to investigate the frozen king. Still acting like Celestia's student, she accepts. When she accidentally releases King Sombra from his bonds, it seems like all hope is lost. However, one Draconequus, can help: Discord.
