“Spike! Is that you?” Twilight called down from the second floor.

Twilight's magic flashed and the door to the basement shut with a resounding slam. She furrowed her brows at Spike and loomed over him. “Spike... what kind of book is that? You're hiding something from me.”
Spike was caught. He squeezed the book tighter and then slumped. He peeled the top of the envelope open and pulled out a small portion of the contents, trusting to one last gambit. The book within was a large version of his favorite comic books, a thick tome of medium-glossy paper. He pulled it up just far enough to show the top of the title, the letters of 'Power Ponies' just visible. “It's more... Power Ponies. A new special-edition graphic novel I special-ordered from Canterlot.”
Twilight's look softened immediately, and a small tendril of magic reached out to stroke the fins on Spike's head. “Oh Spike... you should try reading real novels. “Why were you heading into the basement?” Twilight asked, suddenly thinking about Spike's actions.

“You're wasting your time!' Hum Drum cried, struggling in his bonds. “The Power Ponies will get out of this. You'll see. And I'll help them do it, just like last time.”

“Where are you taking me?! You won't get away with this!” Hum Drum protested.

“You will see... in fact, part of my revenge requires you to see,” Mane-iac said.
The catwalk spread out all over the upper portion of the room. There wasn't much to see. It was empty, save for six very large, very high-walled metal cylinders. It seemed that the tops were open, and could been looked into by going to different parts of the catwalk.

“I so totally can,” Hum Drum asserted, puffing out his chest proudly. “Masked Matter-horn showed me the rules. Even if I don't have powers and even if I'm a sidekick, if I beat you, I automatically get to taunt you and be proud of myself.” He put on a big grin and moved his body, as though trying to get into a proud pose.

“We got a lotta ta say... but first, can ah buy ya a drink?” Mare-velous asked.
“Why sure. A Princesses' Tiara cola would be great. Don't wanna lose mah head. Ah wanna keep my wits so ah don't miss a thing,” Jo said, taking a seat across from Mare-velous.
She smiled brightly and threw up a hoof, motioning to a waitress. “Two PT colas over here. No! One big PT cola and two straws...”
Hum Drum was far away from everything. He was deep inside the Maretropolis maximum security prison, in the section for super criminals. He passed all the other crazed figures who pounded on the clear walls, screaming at him as a representative of the figures that had put them in there.
Guards led him through a metal door into a large, white section, which smelled faintly of antiseptic. At the far end of the white ward was a single closed cell, holding Mane-iac. She looked up from her rest and scowled on seeing Hum Drum. She rose slowly, to expose her heavily pregnant belly. “Do you require continued protection?” One of the guards asked.
Hum Drum shook his head. “I've got this.” The guards nodded and left the sidekick alone with the gravid supervillainess. He gave her a winning smile and smoothed back his head fins. “How are you doing?”
“Do you honestly care? You ruined my plans, you wrecked my operation, you put me in here and you did this to me!” Mane-iac shouted, indicating her swollen stomach. “And now you're here to... what? Gloat?”
“I'm just here to see how you are. You forced me to do it. You brought this all on yourself. I just wanted to save my friends, you wanted to get off. Well... I got you off!” Hum Drum responded with some passion.
Mane-iac snorted and looked slightly away, placing a hoof lightly on her round belly. “Well... at least this is different than the usual cell. I didn't even know this place had a maternity section. A hospital section but a maternity section? That's kinda perverted when you think of it...”
“I didn't think it could happen. I bloated you up good, but pregnancy...” Hum Drum started.
“Don't remind me. I was a laughingstock. I was in prison, bloated, sloshing... ugh,” Mane-iac groused. “I was shocked when the test came back...”
“Well... wouldn't this have happened anyhow? You were the one that started it,” Hum Drum noted.
“Forethought isn't exactly my strong suit. I think I was certain I was safe. I had planned every single detail, including a special serum for my minions. But I forgot to take my birth control. One little detail, it's always one little detail...” Mane-iac snorted.
Hum Drum laughed softly and slowly sat down, looking over Mane-iac's full form. “So, go ahead and tell me how you are. They're my kids too. I have an interest in this...”
Spike chuckled softly as the ended, with Hum Drum given all the respect he could ever possibly want. He had proven his potency, his ability to defeat evil, and help the Power Ponies, even without any powers of his own. It was quite a comic, to say the least, and satisfied him on several levels.
He nearly closed the comic, but happened to notice a brightly-colored and bombastic ad on the page after the conclusion. It seemed to be a second volume of the comic he held, a sequel of sorts. 'Power Ponies: The Erotic Adventures', with the subtitle, 'Motherhood, Mayhem and the Mane-iac's Return'. The Power Ponies were shown looking over foals in cribs. Behind Matter-horn, Fili-second, Zapp, Mare-velous and Hum Drum was the silhouette of Mane-iac; behind Radiance and Saddle Rager were two silhouettes of hugely muscular bipedal figures, one with large horns. Below was the blurb, 'Featuring the coming of Iron Willie and Diamond Dong. Villains or heroes? Friends or foes? Find out in this all-new erotic adventure!
Spike smiled as he slowly closed the comic and got up to gather the cum-splattered sheets up and put on a clean set. He'd have to start doing more odd-jobs around town, but he'd do what it took to get the second volume. It promised to be even more interesting.
